Dr. Zachary Weekes performed my exam this time and I was pleasantly surprised how diligent and quick the exam went, and the results were the best I have had. I ended up finding a contact perscription that was just right for me. Dr. Weekes answered each of my questions with patience, and ensured they were resolved. I just took a day off to come here where there is no parking for block's because of tow zones. They're supposed to be up for seven weeks I found out AFTER double parking and asking if I would be towed if I parked and came in. The woman at the front with glasses said "Yes" and I asked where one can park if they're a clinic without parking and she said "Ashland and Dover", so I said "Where's Dover?" And she pointed the opposite direction of Ashland. I tried to clarify and she was short with me and blinked condescendingly that clearly where she was pointing was East and I said "you said the intersection of Ashland and Dover" and she said no. So I left because I would never make it on time once I found parking several blocks away. And even tho I spoke to them on the phone two days ago when they weee putting up the no parking signs and the clinic knew they were, they still didn't inform me, they aren't informing patients. They're waiting until you show up and the woman who is shorter with glasses and curly hair in the front will give you instructions as if you didn't know. Before when I came they were really decisive about Men's glasses vs. Women's glasses and yet they seem to be very inclusive there. Maybe that's a chain thing. They told me I had a condition but without any follow up just a kind hearted but empty diagnosis without much follow up. They've been good about adjusting my frames in the past. I am not a stranger to Pearl vision, but to this location I was. First, the location is super cute. The interior is so pleasing to the eye and feels like home. I was greeted by the receptionist and he was so kind. The doctor was fantastic at explaining everything that would be occurring during the visit. The entire team there is amazing and I really did feel like I was talking to friends and family during my visit. They did have a large variety of glasses to choose from as well. I will be back! I had not had an eye exam since 2019 and with the pandemic outbreak, that trend continued. Turning 60 this year, I felt I needed to go in and get my eyes checked out, just to make sure everything was ok. I was not experiencing any issues, but it doesn't hurt to stay on top of things. Making an appointment was very easy using the online system. The staff was quite pleasant. As soon as I walked in I was greeted in a warm manner and taken care of right away by Victoria. She took my history and did the initial exam. Then I met with Dr. Weeks. He was very nice and thorough in his explanations. Each step of the exam, he and Victoria explained what they were doing and why. I loved that they had a machine that was able to take a photo of the back of my eyes. That was awesome to see as well as the entire eyeballs done to retinas. The service at this location was just wonder and I am happy to say that I still have 20/20 eyesight. I was also happy that there was no hard push to make me get glasses. While my vision is still good, Dr. Weeks did say that with a recommended prescription, my sight could be even clearer. When I said no thanks, I am good with what I have for now. that was the end of the discussion. But did mention that I could come down for eye checks for eye irritation due to allergies...now that I may take him up on. I was not much for doing eye exams but this will be my go to place. I have always had eye exam insurance and never used it, so now I am going to bet my money's worth and spend it here. There is plenty of street parking and it is on the 22 Clark Street and 81 Lawrence bus lines if you take public transportation. I really like this place. My initial consultation was with Andrea and she was great. I felt like she was very knowledgeable about not only improving my eyesight but she also has a good eye for fashion. Came in here as a new patient for a general eye exam and contacts prescription. The staff here is super friendly, and Dr. Weeks is great - he listens to you and is very thorough in the examination process. Only reason for a less than perfect rating is that I was given a new prescription that was far too strong, which ended up making me nauseous and dizzy. We were able to switch out the contacts for a new prescription, but it took over two weeks which impacted my ability to drive, etc. However, now that we've got it right, this will be my go-to place for future eye exams! read more

If you're looking for an exam or glasses, don't look any further than this place. I was more than satisfied with my exam and purchasing glasses. The whole process from scheduling to leaving glasses was more than satisfactory and easy. They explained the process effectively. I wasn't left wondering why we were doing certain tests. Dr. Weekes explained everything meticulously. I understood what he was looking for reading the images. He made sure all your questions were answered. Everything they do is very safe. They wiped down all machines that were used. They sanitized the glasses, the machines, and the rooms. Victoria and Drew were great in helping me find the right glasses. It's extremely disappointing when there cancellation policy charges $20 for 24hrs and $50 for 2 hours. If you cancel this fee has to be paid up front before they allow you to book a new appointment. Wow! People's schedules change and charging that is ridiculous, also the tone of the person on the phone was extremely off putting as well, requiring proof of insurance before booking an appointment. I see the policy has drastically changed since I was there 2 years ago. While I really like Dr. Meeks I do not like these new policies. So I instead will go up to Visionary on Clark where they don't have a cancellation policy! read more

Changed optometrists after moving to the city from suburbs and this location and group was recommended and I couldn't have been happier. Every person my partner and I interacted with was great; there was a very short time to book an appointment and once there everybody was upfront about options and the process. Dr. Weekes was thorough and very nice, and Victoria is the frame whisperer. The technician who did the initial testing before getting back to the doctor explained everything as we went through it and they were friendly and kind. Dr. Weekes and his team were super cheerful and professional from when I walked through the door until I left. Each test was administered with an appreciated sense of humor and warmth that made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. Dr. Weekes made a point to start his exam by asking how I was in general and the few minutes of small talk put me at ease, then his utmost professional exam left me feeling properly taken care of by someone who knows what he's doing. I was in the market for both new contacts and glasses during last year's exam, and they were helpful and attentive to me without being pushy regarding the sale or attempting to upsell me, which I super appreciate. One of the doctors refused to take my wife's insurance, but another one there would, and they didn't even try to accommodate to schedule our appointments together after that. They decided to inform us that they weren't going to take the insurance the day before even though the appointment was scheduled for about a week and we had no problem with her insurance the time before. read more

The ENTIRE staff rocks!! My colleague saw Dr. Weekes on a Friday and insisted that I schedule an appointment. I thought, "What the heck?!" I mean, if she got THIS excited about an eye doctor, he must be good. So, I called to schedule an appointment the following day, and was fortunate enough to get in within a few hours! Dr. Weekes has assembled a wonderful staff who are both professional and affable. The doctor was thorough, honest, and has a comforting disposition. His equipment is newer than anything I had ever seen, and he married that with traditional dispensing protocols. The eye glass selection is quite vast and the staff is knowledgeable about how to maximize insurance to get the best eyewear and contacts. The team at Pearle Vision Lawrence and Clark is truly wonderful! I had been having trouble with a glasses prescription I had gotten from a different optometrist, so chose to go to Pearle Vision since it was right in my neighborhood. I could not be happier with my decision! The team greeted me right away and used their online health portal to get me all set up for that visit (and for future visits). Dr. Weekes was truly kind, compassionate, and helpful. I explained to him some of the problems I had been having with my other glasses and felt like he truly listened. He did a very thorough exam and at the end of the exam built me a "test" pair of glasses so that I could try the new prescription and make sure I wasn't going to be sick to my stomach. After finalizing my prescription, I worked with Lissette to find a new pair of glasses. Lissette let me know about the frame limit through my vision insurance and asked if I wanted to stay within that budget - this was very much appreciated and something I had never been asked before at other places! She then listened to what I was looking for in a pair of glasses and walked me around the store helping me to pick out frames that were both within my budget and what I was looking for from a style perspective. When I decided on a pair of frames, Drew told me that my prescription was in stock and I could go home with a new pair of glasses the same day. He cut the lenses for me, set them into my new frames, and made the final adjustments to the frames so I walked out with a great new pair of glasses! read more

Just had my eye exam at this location and I couldn't be happier. My visit started with the help of Lissette prepping me with preliminary tests before I visited with the doctor. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable of the tests and ensured I was comfortable along the way. She also was very patient with me while we went through each test. After the preliminary tests Dr. Weekes was able to immediately walk me through my results and conduct a few more in-depth exams to ensure the accuracy of the prescription. He was absolutely fantastic, professional, friendly, and extremely knowledgeable. Dr. Weekes walked me through the results of all my tests in a way that I would understand and ensured I was comfortable the entire stay. After the exam Lissette, Andrew, and Dr. Weekes were ready to help me find the right pair of glasses. They all helped me find the right set of glasses that fit my face and were stylish. During this process they were extremely honest pointing me to frames that complimented my features and helped me look good. After a quick vote, we decided that a pair of Ray Bans were the right choice for me! I would certainly recommend this place to all my friends/family/etc and will be coming here again! I wish I could give this place more stars. So so many more. I recently have at started worrying more about a possible eye infection in my left eye. By this point I was at the end of my contacts life and had no glasses. Drew answered my FB message asking about the eye exam cost, in the same message I mentioned my eye and he said come in right now and we can get that checked out as well. Since they wouldn't have a doctor in for at least two days. Mind you they were closing in a half hour. What followed next was amazing customer service and willingness to help me in my time of need. Dr. Weekes was extremely thorough with helping me find my prescription and figuring out what was up with my left eye. I swear I held back tears because not only did they stay longer(past close). But they also were able to get me prescribe me with a solution for my eye and I left home with glasses that same day. They're both amazing people and I willing to bet the rest of their staff are as well. I will continue to come here and will recommend everyone I know to go there. I had an amazing experience today with Dr Zachary Weekes and his staff, Drew and Laura. Dr. Weekes is very personable, knowledgeable and caring. His exam was very thorough and I learned a lot while under his care. He answered all my questions, demonstrated to me the difference between a healthy eye and an unhealthy one. He also provided lots of guidance on how to keep my eyes healthy. Drew, the receptionist, checked me in and made sure all of my documentation was complete. He is very pleasant and efficient and keeps the reception area organized and cleaned. Laura was just lovely. She guided me through all of the preliminary tests and gathered more detailed information about my eye history. She asked me things I hadn't really thought about before. One of the tests we had to redo because she wanted to make sure the measurements were correct, but I also think it was part of her innate sense of professionalism. The office setting is very pleasant and comfortable, and they have a nice selection of frames. Everything was explained to me clearly every step of the way. My whole family has been taken care of by this Pearle Vision for more than 3 years. Dr. Weekes is kind and (endlessly) patient, and has managed to find contacts that will work with both my dry allergy plagued eyes, and my strong prescription. They monitor one of my kid's eyes for an impact from his chronic illness. My three teenagers all wear glasses and Drew, Victoria, Laura, and Jackie are endless kind and patient while we pick out and fit them with frames. My youngest finally needed glasses and he had a hard time picking a pair he loved - Victoria even swapped out the ear pieces to make a perfect pair for him. They have a beautiful and constantly updated selection of frames - the hardest part is leaving some of them in the store. Another great visit, overdue from my first one in July 2020. An episode with one eye during the night scared me a bit, so I thought I'd get my exam now and was able to grab one the same day. Both Drew and Dr. Weekes did the most thorough eye exam I've ever had. Turned out my prescription is about the same and I can relax about the weird thing that bothered my eye last night, but in three months we'll follow up with an exam just to be sure of one thing seen on the test (to make sure it's gone). I feel my concern was thoroughly investigated, on excellent equipment, and most of all that I was getting the best attention and advice from Dr. Weekes. I felt very safe, COVID-wise, as they're doing everything right. Hope to get back there soon for some sunglasses, since I didn't need new everyday glasses.
