I am VERY particular about who tends to my eyecare needs and went here mainly because they took my insurance (Humana Comp Benefits). I am SO glad I did! Dr. Mila Petkovic first saw me. She was very kind and listened to my whole eye 'situation.' She gave me two new trial pairs of contacts that came within a week. They also got me the best deal by having the eye exam through my BCBS HMO and the contacts through my vision insurance. Fastforward to present time--I called today and was able to make an appointment for later this afternoon. I had some weird eye pain/tearing/light sensitivity for a bit and really needed to be seen quickly. The doctor who was there was extremely helpful too! Here's why: -He had the 'insurance guy' run both my vision and medical insurance (figured it would be covered because I had an ulcer-yeah ew). My stupid HMO wouldn't cover it but he still charged me $25 which was LESS than my copay. -He called around to CVS to price the antibiotics for me and had them run my insurance to give me a price ($12 vs the $85 he originally wanted to prescribe, not bad) I have never had any doctor whether it be PCP or whomever be so attentive and jump through all the insurance hoops so I wouldn't have to. Had an annual eye exam yesterday and was thoroughly pleased with the process and service here. I haven't seen an optometrist since moving from SoCal 5 years ago (had always flown back to see my Doc of 20 years). The doctor was thorough and personable. His staff helped me pick out a new set of frames (giving helpful advice as to which ones did and did not suit my face) and I purchased contacts for the year. I want to start this off by saying this is my first post on YELP. I use YELP all the time and find reviews very helpful. That being said i had to make an account to write a review about this specific pearle vision because i couldn't have asked for a better experience there. Keep reading to find out why i had the most amazing, comforting and helpful experience. This couldn't have been a better place to go and receive help, specifically from Dr. Norman Blase. I was driving home from college and was having trouble closing my eye and my vision was getting blurry in one eye. I freaked out because i was having trouble seeing and going out of town the following day. I called over to Dr. Norman Blase's office and he instructed that i come by immediately to get checked. When i got to his office i was helped immediately. He was extremely professional and comforting at the same time which made me feel relaxed about the whole eye examination. He ended up finding out that my cornea was scratched and gave me 2 eye drops. The following morning i woke up feeling like a new person with ZERO pain in my eye. I would HIGHLY recommend people to Dr. Norman Blase for various reasons. First he was extremely thorough in his examination as well as making sure his hands were clean before touching my eye. Second, he was comforting and made sure during the whole examination that i was okay and also would stop when my eye began to tear up. Third, he genuinely cares for his patients and that's why he instructed that i come in to see him immediately. You would be silly not to go and see him, he is the BEST!!!! read more

I've been going to Pearl Vision on Miluakee ave for about 10 plus yrs and started to become unhappy with the way my Oakleys were coming out. So I was promoted at work and had to move. So I found another Pearl Vision right down the street from my current apt. And I cant be any happier with there service. I have had my new glasses for about six hours now, but I knew when I put them on they were perfect. They made my last pair, which were fine but the size of these lenses and their shape work perfectly with my prescription. Pearl has an adopted an irritating business practice of automatically setting up appointments for previous customers and then robo-calling clients to confirm "phantom" appointments. I then had to call the office to ask them to stop. I then asked the staff if I had consented to this ... she responded it was a courtesy reminder. I explained I had never set up an appointment nor consented to this business practice. Watch out in providing them with personal contact data. read more

I had an eye doctor's appointment at 2pm. I was on time, and the pre-exam check went smoothly, but the doctor took in the patient that was ahead of me and stayed with her for the next 40 minutes. I complained and was told that a) doctor made a mistake, they apologize and b) other patient came in before me - not true. I saw her walk in while I was waiting and get her pre-exam and c) they will refund one portion of the co-pay ($20) but not the fitting ($29). I don't need a fitting and just want to get my scratched lenses replaced. I had to wait 40 minutes, and would have been kept waiting, until I got frustrated and rescheduled. read more

I had been holding off going due to Covid and everything was being sanitized in front of you and protocols were all in place that I felt completely safe. I had come in to get my annual exam. The staff is welcoming and polite. The optometrist was friendly, funny, and informative. I was truly happy with everything. I purchased a pair of glasses they were nice, and ready when I was told. Hours after picking them up went to another location with my husband and fell for another pair. Fast forward to returning them I spoke with Debbie (office manager) she was so nice, helpful, and accommodating. I actually feel terribly about purchasing through the other location. Debbie listened to my wishes, followed through, did everything she said she would, and followed up with me. She was super professional! I'm so excited to pick up my new glasses and I give my thanks to Debbie! She patiently brought me frame after frame until I fell in love with just the right one. It's obvious that she's not just selling eyeglasses but rather making sure that her clients walk away with the absolute most positive experience AND a great pair of frames. My husband is sitting here as I write this review, picking up his 30 year old Cartier Frames. The frames are in great condition, having just been professionally worked on by a fine jeweler. We had been to other optical stores and they wouldn't touch the frames in order to change the lenses for his new prescription. Ben, the lab tech has been here for years and is FANTASTIC. He has been helping both of us for years. Without going into too much detail, he has one above and beyond. For someone who works in the back, his front end, customer service skills are fantastic. Alexis helped with the transaction and she was very friendly and efficient. Today, we came in with a stupid paperwork mistake that was a nightmare for Debbie, the Manager. She didn't blink an eye when we explained the problem and said immediately that she would help us if she could. The insurance problem was totally OUR FAULT, but Debbie fixed the issue with a pleasant attitude and efficient manner. They are so friendly and drop everything when I run in to have my glasses adjusted. I like the combo of fair price, friendly service and efficiency. read more

If I could give 10 stars I would! Sometimes things aren't right the 1st time around but I truly value a manager who listens, acknowledges, understands and rectifies a customers concerns and questions. My first experience with pearl vision was a bumpy one but Debbie who is phenomenal addressed all and I mean ALL my issues. I have noticed the positive changes in her store since she has arrived and her leadership is brightly shown through out her store. I have always been treated with respect not just from her but her whole staff. Not to mention she super attentive, polished, poised and compassionate and has an eye for style. Her selection for frames is very impressive and addictive. lol My eyes couldn't stay focused because I kept seeing such beautiful and unique designs and nothing is more satisfying than a person looking at your face and finding a frame that fits YOU! The pads around the nose for my eyeglasses had fallen off so I needed another one so it would stop cutting into my skin. I was going to the grocery store nearby anyways so I figured I would stop by here and get one put in. So, I expected they would charge me something...they charged me $3 and made sure to charge me before they did anything. However, how much do you think those pads costs them? A penny? A quarter? They are not willing to spend that much for customer acquisition? Think about this, if they would have done it for free, they would have gotten a better review. They also would be on my mind when I need to update my eyeglasses which is every year....which is about $300-500. So, to make $3 now, they lost a customer, a review, and some future profits. This is a bad business model and should be revisited. read more

My 6yr old broke her glasses I called several stores to see if they carried Ray Ban Jr frames in store. Her dad stopped in spoke with Debbie and over the phone with me attempted to find frames that work. Needless to say she couldn't do much over the phone but she spent 15 minutes trying. Next day I went in with the broken frames & she found a pair of frames that fit her lenses. Debbie is a rockstar & I will be back to purchase my daughters new frames when it time. My office recently added VSP as our vision insurance provider and since my previous eye care specialists (For Eyes, thankyouverymuch) actually isn't in the VSP network I did a little hunt for a provider super close to my Noble Square apartment that was cheap and not fancy schmancy. I don't have any eye "issues." I just need contacts. So I made an appointment with Dr. Mila Petkovic, who was very professional and thorough. She even gave me a few new contact lens samples (yay for Acuvue Oaysis for people with astigmatisms) and told me to wear them for a week before ordering a year's supply. Payment was easy. The staff is friendly. What more can you need for basic eye care services? Not much, I'd say. read more

Came in today to buy a pair of glasses. I already had a prescription, so I just needed to pick out some frames. When I walked in a guy at the entrance asked what he could help me with, I told him and he asked for my prescription & insurance card which he took, handed off to another girl, and promptly wandered off without telling me what was going on or who'd be helping me. Fine... I'll just make myself at home and started trying on some glasses. After a few minutes, the girl asked me for my birthdate. I told her, then glanced at her computer screen to see what she was up to. She was logging into Facebook. Hmmm.... Ok... gotta get her fix I guess, I'll try on some more frames. A few minutes pass, I hear some typing... Oh good! She's entering some information for some reason. Not sure why, I just wanna try on some glasses... but whatever, maybe she's checking my insurance to see how much they'll cover. Nope. She's not entering my information, she's updating her Facebook. A couple more minutes pass... my prescription & insurance sitting on her desk in front of her as she Facebooked away. I try on a few more pairs... still Facebook... and I decide to leave. Told her "Thanks, but I don't see anything that I like. Can I have my prescription and insurance back?" "Huh? Oh.. ok.. Don't worry, I'll remove the lock on your account" ....Lock on my account? This is my first yelp review which has been prompted by a pretty snotty phone conversation at this location. 8 months ago I went to this location for a contact and eye glasses exam. It was my first time wearing contacts so I had to make another appointment for them to "teach" me how to put in and remove contacts. Keep in mind that when I was told I had to make this appointment it had to be at a different date. Inconvenient, whatever, moving on. I made my follow up appointment. Not really sure why I needed an appointment for this it consisted of me pulling my eyelids with one of their techs saying "you were close keep trying". Honestly, I could've just sat in front of a mirror at home and turned on the biggest loser and my experience would've been the exact same. Anyway I put my contacts in and out and went home. Today I broke my glasses, and I'm on my last pair of contacts. I called today and spoke to a male employee who I will not name. I asked for extra daily contacts he snapped at me and said I need to make an appointment. I said I was a patient and he said I still needed to make an appointment, since my last appointment was so long ago. I was just there 8 months ago! I tend to judge my doctors offices by how they treat me in a crises. After a pretty stressful work day, I called hoping for a little bit of empathy. Instead I was constantly interrupted. How can you help a patient if you won't even let them talk? Well Pearle vision you can take advantage of someone else. I won't be doing business with you anymore. read more

BEWARE!!!!!! I went in for an eye exam and got prescriptions for glasses and contacts. I ordered new lenses for my eyeglasses through them, opting to use my existing frame. This is because although they have a rack full of frames at "50% off" (based on their advertisement), you can only get the 50% discount if you are not using your vision insurance. If you want to use your vision insurance towards the frames, you have to pay full price??!! Then I asked for a price quote for a one-year supply of one-day disposable contacts. The prices quoted was approx. $480 plus tax. I told them that I found an online store that offers $259 for the same supply and asked if Pearle Vision would either match or come close to that price. They said they couldn't do it. I paid for my doctor's visit and the RX and went home to order the contacts online. The online RX tried to verify my presciption with Pearle Vision but was told I am not a patient!!!! Fortunately, I did ask Pearle Vision for a written prescription so I was able to fax it to the online store. This is very a very bad business practice by Pearle Vision. I feel they basically tried to force me to order the contacts through them. It's very disappointing for a national chain to do this. read more

Dr. Yaffe was great! He was attentive and personable. Unfortunately the experience of dealing with the store sales rep left much to be desired. Misleading and unscrupulous are two words that come to mind.
