I had been coming here for years. Dr. Tweed has always been very thorough with my exams and explains things carefully. Although expensive, I did tend to by my eyeglasses here as well. Usually fitted very well and prescription was great. My last visit to pick up new glasses was not so great. Never offered a seat, never offered to try them on to see how they fit or if adjustments were needed, or if the prescription was right. She kind of shoved them into my hands and escorted me out of the store. I left with such a bad feeling, after having spent quite a bit of money there over the years----and obviously----I won't be back. This happened over a year ago but it still sticks in my craw. Very disappointed in how this store front has been maintained over the past few years. The carpets, walls, countertops and displays are filthy. We have been coming here for years but may not be back after this visit. The desk staff are also not very friendly and seem to be resentful of people in the showroom? Dr. Tweed exceeded the expectations I had for an optometrist. I've had some pretty poor experiences at other places, where I felt more like a retail customer than a patient. But Dr. Tweed spent a significant amount of time doing my eye exam, tweaking the prescription, and listened to my concerns about my current contact lens brand. In the past, other providers shrugged this off. Because of this excellent service, the problem I had with my lenses seems to have disappeared because I was given a relatively inexpensive, and effective, solution. While at Pearle Vision for my exam and contacts, I also found a pair of Kate Spade glasses frames I liked. If you're on a budget though, going to Pearle for eyeglass frames may not be the most cost effective solution. They have a lot of designer brands like Tory Burch, Coach, Prada, and Ray Ban. Prices for contact lenses were about the same as other optometry outlets, and I got a rebate. I was happy with the other staff here too. They were friendly and helpful. When I went back to purchase the glasses, I knew exactly how much it would cost. They also had my insurance information (eyemed) before I arrived for my appointment, and they went over exactly what my insurance would - and would not - cover. My only gripe is that you may overspend if you aren't paying attention. When I sat down for the pre-test, I was quickly moved onto the third test, but I didn't remember ever doing this at other places. So I asked if it was covered as part of the "basic" exam. FYI - that third pre-test is NOT covered and is an additional $25 charge. I don't think it's necessarily a scam, but it is an optional service that you may not even want or need. They were totally fine with it when I declined. I never needed to wait very long for anything here. As soon as I filled out the necessary paperwork, I was whisked away for pre-testing, and then only had to wait about five minutes before seeing Dr. Tweed. When I picked up contacts and glasses, the only actual wait time was while they looked for my order. I was very happy with my experience here. read more

So I needed new glasses and contacts 1. The eye Dr seemed disinterested and very rushed during my appointment and appeared to be very against coloured contacts which bugged me the entire time as that is what I wear. There was nothing sincere about him just very fake-I felt super rushed. 2. Another occasion when I picked up my glasses this woman was trying on quite a few pairs and I guess didn't purchase-let me tell you that there was a gentleman who worked there that complained about this lady after she left and how he and this other woman who worked there spent 45 minutes with her and the woman didn't even buy any glasses....do you imagine what they are saying about you? Wow I was shocked as they talked about her right on the floor loud enough so I could hear. Have been going to Pearl in Geneva for years and they are the best. The staff is always willing to help and they always work with your regarding scheduling. Whether it is answering questions about glasses or contacts or just adjusting your glasses, they are always happy to help. Dr. Tweed is someone you can trust completely. He genuinely cares about your health and what is best for you. It's not just a business to him rather its about people, what they need and what is best for them. He has always taken the time to explain everything and suggests different options. In addition, I have trusted him with the eyecare for my daughter who, now 20 years old, still chooses to go there. First off, I want to say the people at this location are great. The doctors, the receptionists and glasses associates are all very helpful and provided great customer service, they get all three stars. The issue here is that unlike my vision after leaving the pricing and policies are fuzzy. Like a 'C' or 'G' or maybe 'O' at the bottom of one of those vision tests, prices were not always what they seemed. I came for a simple contact fitting, but after they gave me a contact and glass prescription I decided to check out the glasses. Here is the weird part, I had my appointment and was free to leave. But after I told them I wanted glasses they wanted to charge me a 'Glasses Appointment' fee as well. If I had left nothing would have happened, but they wanted to charge me another $25 for the same appointment because I was buying glasses, what? Then the kicker, after I left and thought I was all finished and had ordered my much more expensive than I expected glasses I get a call. Two issues. One they needed to measure the distance between my eyes and could I come back? Second, they missed a random charge of $25 for rust coating or mirror tints or something. I cancelled the order on the spot and asked them to mail me my prescriptions so I could get glasses elsewhere, which they did. So after all is said and done, I feel like the guy in the movie 'Fargo' trying to buy a car without the $500 rust coating. Frustrated. read more

I needed my first pair of progressive lenses and was recommended to try their office. I'm very happy I went to that location and now can't live without these glasses at work. I have the perfect frames and vision thanks to Meredith correctly measuring what is basically three prescriptions for my needs into one lens. I'll be going back to Pearle Vision for any future glasses due to the staff and fair price. read more

The Pearle Vision in Oakbrook Terrace, IL has the best customer service. The receptionist and doctors are phenomenal. I recently moved further away and there is a Pearle Vision is Naperville, IL that is closer. Their customer service is horrible. The receptionist are rude. I got hung up on and I got asked sarcastic questions as If I am not a valued customer. I take customer service very serious especially when it's something as important as a doctor. Therefore I travel way out my way to the Pearle Vision in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. They are awesome! read more

Serious problems with our insurance... even though every other store we've ever been to has never been a problem. They essentially tried to block selling us glasses under our insurance (even though everything they sell is technically covered there). Several of the women working out front were extremely rude when they figured out we weren't going to buy from them. Everything from pursed lips, to squinting, rolling, eyes. This isn't how you treat customers. The optometrist was nice and professional. read more

Lady at the counter was nice. They got me in for an eye exam last minute . The dr gave me different contacts to try for couple weeks to see which ones work better. He is pretty busy. I never found any frames I like and they didn't give me a prescription when I left. I forgot to ask so I'll be going back for that. Over all it was a fine experience read more

Doctors Megan and Michael Tweed and their staff are the best. Rather than rush you through a quick vision check, they take the time to do numerous tests and they carefully explain each one. One computer test takes a photo of the inside of your eye so that the health of the eye can be accurately determined. It is truly amazing technology. They keep the digital photos and compare them over time so that changes can be seen and investigated. I have a Choroidal Nevus, which is a freckle or mole on the inside of the eye. The doctors always take the time to show me the pictures from each year and explain what the pictures show. As long as Megan and Michael are in business, I won't be going anywhere else. read more
