When I arrived, I was told they don't take either my eye or my medical insurance and I would need to pay cash. Okay, fine; at this point I am desperate so I pay the $265 exam fee. Dr. Hawkins saw me and said she thought I have a tear duct infection but didn't want to treat it "aggressively" with oral antibiotics yet. So she gave me eye drops and told me to follow up in 2 days... Here we are, 2 days later following up (oh, and there is a $145 fee for a follow up) with a raging infection in my eye, sitting in the waiting room waiting for a doctor. My appointment was over an hour ago and no one has apologized, acknowledged me, or anything. I've asked twice and have been told "shortly." If I hadn't already paid for my appointment and had I not really needed an eye doctor, I would've just found someone else to see another day. I suggest you look other places if you are looking for personal, quality, and friendly eye care.

Dr. Atwell is the answer. He goes out of his way to take care of his patients. Usually I show up at the end of the year to get new glasses and that us usually that. His office didn't hesitate to stick around make sure I was cared for at the highest standard, given a prescription, a personal cell phone number in case things didn't get better with stern directions to call, and a follow up appointment "anytime you can come in" Monday. Dr Atwell is not a typical 9-5 doctor, he is a rare breed of physician that cares for his patients, will bend over backwards for his patients and provides the best standard of care. Batavia is a small town and more people need to know about Dr. Atwell. He and his staff are hidden gems in our little town.
