I broke both pairs of my glasses while shoveling snow in multiple shifts. when I called this specific Pearle vision about getting my lenses replaced, they immediately took me in without scheduling. I met up with José who is a magician with the eyeglasses. He was able to find perfect fit frames for my lenses and popped them in. He had me on my way within minutes of arriving. Jose made the entire experience very seamless and painless. Most importantly he replaced my frames with ones that feel better, look better, and are better. this was my third visit with them, and I have been very pleased with their services and support. read more

I have gone to this location the last five years with a different optician but today I had the worse experience. I met with Dr. Gaudio. He was rude, condescending, obnoxious, ill mannered and had an all around bad attitude. I put up with it for a while but then I got up and left. I was going to order a pair of progressive glasses but I guess Pearle Vision does not need the business. Please retrain your employees how to deal with the public because his behavior is unacceptable. I will also be registering a complaint with my insurance company as to the poor service Pearle Vision provides. read more

Went to get glasses now this wasn't my first rodeo with glasses. I purchased a pair of Ray Bans which one lens had to be replaced already because the coating started coming off and I must have had them tightened 20 times. I complained numerous times they didn't feel right on me to be told by the eye doctor they didn't fit me properly. Since I have insurance and Pearl is a few of the places in network I went back. I walked in about 25 minutes before they were about to close and I noticed 2 workers look at their watches and roll their eyes at me. I might add their website states they close a hour later I mentioned that and no acknowledgment apology or anything. I proceeded to ask an older lady about my coverage and she tells me she had to go check it but when I come back to get glasses someone will check it since they were closing soon. Now mind you she was sitting at the computer. When I proceeded to tell her I had the highest plan well guess what she was able to check right where she was sitting tell didn't offer to help because they were closing soon. Are they really in business to sell eyeglasses. I will never go back there. Went to Lens's Crafters and they couldn't be more accommodating. read more

After I heard that Dr. Speiser had retired, I was dreading the thought of finding a new optometrist. However, based on some positive reviews I had read, I took a shot with Dr. Davis at the Pearle Vision in New Hyde Park recently, and I'm so glad I did. He is kind, knowledgeable, friendly, fast, efficient, and thoroughly professional. He's my guy now, and I wouldn't entrust my eye care needs to anyone else! Also, when it comes to helping with picking out glasses or answering questions about insurance and payments, Marlene is the absolute best! In fact, she's the main reason I went back to the NHP store after Dr. Speiser retired. Her great service inspires customer loyalty, and that's pretty rare these days. read more

Read the other reviews. With insurance, I still have to pay over $100 for an eye exam. One of my glasses broke it happens. Not pearle vision fault and as I can only get a new pair every two years I found out even with my insurance discount I'm really not getting that much off. I wound up going to warbly parker who did NOT accept my insurance but at full price was still hundreds cheaper than Pearle with my insurance. Mind boggling. Than the mailings and emails start. The email address I used to book my appointment and to be fair was decently responsive now totally ignored all my emails to remove me from all making lists As in just didn't reply at all To top it all off they start to automatically book me for an appointment. I don't respond as they were asked to stop emailing me. And than I get emails: RESCHEDULE YOUR COMPREHENSIVE EYE EXAM Reschedule!!?? I didn't even schedule with you. I'm so fortunate that when my insurances changed I am still able to come here as Dr. Speiser is incredibly kind. I go once a year and he was still able to remember certain facts about my eye health without regarding his notes or my patient information. I haven't needed to update my prescription in a few years (and he technically said that my prescription is a little over 20/20) but he's never pushed for me to get new frames or up new contacts. With my eye condition, I tend to get very, very dry eyes and up until the latest line of Acuvue came out I had the best one a days available of market. He said if I were to switch to the *now* top of the line it woulndn't make much of a difference, coupled with the fact that I only wear my contacts on special occasions. Dr. Speiser is honest without compromising the best interest for your eye health. On my last visit I decided to opt for new frames and I spent a half hour stuck between three choices. The associate was able to help me narrow it down to a choice (she gave it to me real with thepros/cons and what looked best on me), and when I voiced that I didn't love the red color of the frames, she checked it up and found that they also came in black and ordered those for me. One thing though: they no longer accept old frames to donate, so take 'em elsewhere! read more

They upgraded their location since I was last here 2 years ago. Very clean and modern. Two big walls of glasses to choose from. The doctor is so nice and thorough, explaining everything step by step. I had the most wonderful woman assist me in picking out a pair of glasses. I must have spent over an hour with her. She was so patient with me and she wasn't afraid to give me her opinion....her actual opinion not just what I wanted to hear. I've been a patient of Dr. Speiser's for over ten years now. He is the only optometrist I trust with my eyes. I love that he takes his time during each exam and actually talks to you. I also feel he is very honest when talking about the health of my eyes and provides me with his recommendations. Also, all of the staff that work here are super friendly and helpful. I can not say enough about how thorough and skilled Dr. Speiser is at getting the prescription completely right. I just got new lenses, and they are the best for my vision that I have ever had. I have a particularly difficult problem because my two eyes do not line up the visual cues correctly, so in addition to needing progressive lenses I needed a prism in the lens. Dr. Speiser worked at it, kept me in that chair until we got it right and I have never seen better in my life. In addition, Dr. Speiser assured me that he would only use a lab that could handle my particular needs, and I trusted him completely and appreciated this, too. PS: I am a physician and I have always gone to ophthalmologists for my lenses but not any more! Thank you so much, you will see me again, Dr. Speiser! read more

Extremely disappointing! I was told, while my husband was already getting his exam, that our vision insurance was no longer accepted. So what should have been a free annual exam, cost us $70. They also missed out on a purchase or two. Office staff should be aware of their own policies. Also, update your website to reflect said policies. read more

Booked my appointment 2 weeks in advanced with a gentleman. He told me my insurance policy was not covered but I would receive a discount since it is my first visit. Imma appointment was at 10, which is the time they open. I arrived at 9:45 and waited out front until 10. Once I went in, I was helped by a woman at the front desk (older Asian woman). When I told her the pricing the gentleman told me, she mentioned two male names to the lady next to her. My daughter went into a room to do a pre test for the doctor and the lady that helped me prior, confronted me again. She asked who I spoke to, I did not know the name but told her he had a bit of a accent (mentioned maybe Spanish or Indian) she said "it was spanish i know who you're talking about". She goes to the other lady than comes back to me saying "no one here has an accent and no one would give you a discount". I reminded her that she was the one who told me it has to be a spanish accent. After several minutes of discussing with another employee, she told me I would be given the discount I was told on the phone. My daughter picked out her frame and we were told since it was a Saturday they would come in either Tuesday or Wednesday and I would be called when they arrive. Tuesday came around.. no call. Wednesday morning passed, still nothing. So around 5:30pm, I called and asked if they were in. They said "oh yea they're here". I went in and picked up my daughters glasses. I paid $30 EXTRA to make the lenses thinner since they would be very thick and the lenses still don't fit in the frame. The lenses stick out of the frame on the sides and top. The work they did on the glass was sloppy, the staff is rude and unhelpful. Probably never going back. I don't recommend going here. read more

Let me start off by saying I LOVE the staff here! May and the rest of the desk staff have been wonderful every year I return here to pick out frames. They are the only reason I'm bumping up this review from one star. But the doctor who does eye exams on weekends, Dr. Steven Speiser, is TERRIBLE. I complained of having poor night vision in one eye and he just ignored it. He also only spent about one minute on my exam. He had me read two lines, and didn't even wait for me to finish reading the lines and wrote up a prescription. I paid $78 in total for an eye and contact lens exam but I don't trust that he's given me the correct prescription after spending so little time examining me. I even asked him how he determined the prescription so fast, as all of my eye exams in my lifetime of poor vision have taken significantly longer, and he gave me an ill-mannered response. Please, get your eye exam and prescription elsewhere. But if you want to pick out frames, this is a good place to go. read more

Ridiculous prices. Frames are less than half the price when you go online. They have nothing on paper. I wanted to see the prices for lenses on paper so I could know the saleswoman wasn't saying prices out of nowhere. She said it's a new system so there was nothing to show me. I had to ask for a receipt after paying and she had to type it up. After picking up my glasses two days later I was unhappy with the way they looked. The saleswoman had told me they fit me really well - I'm sure that's what she tells everyone. I went to another place and I was told exactly what kind of glasses would and wouldn't fit me, which was so much more helpful. I called this location and asked if I could return them and they said to come in. After coming in they told me I could only exchange them for a different pair. I wanted smaller frames because they didn't look right with the lenses, and the store didn't have anything that fit my face shape. The lady told me my eyes are already small, and nothing would help, which I later learned is bs. I just needed smaller frames that wouldn't extend past the outline of my face. I'm giving a generous two stars because the manager allowed me to return the glasses. read more

One of the WORST customer service ever experienced. This place should learn how to treat customers. I went to this place with my 2 kids 9 and 10 years old my daughter have some cough. We filled the form and stepped aside for pre-test this lady came with Lysol and sprayed the whole place right in front of us where we were sitting. Then Dr. came and asked me is something wrong with my daughter at that point I decided to walk out. No apologies of any sort was given. Terrible service. Terrible service. Terrible service. read more
