I visited Pearle Vision at 16498 Beach Blvd., Westminster, CA 92683 for an eye exam and an updated prescription -- this was my first time at this location. Emily, the optical technician, explained my EyeMed benefits and told me I had excellent coverage, including up to $200 toward frames. After my exam with Dr. Luong, I returned to Emily to choose frames. I told her I planned to reuse my current Oakley frames, which I paid about $150 for and still liked. Emily encouraged me to take advantage of the $200 frame benefit instead, and directed me to their Oakley selection. I didn't find anything that fit well and told her I'd stick with my existing frames. At that point, Emily brought over a pair of Prada frames that fit better. While processing the paperwork, she told me they were $1,000 -- but with a 40% promotion, it would reduce the cost. I was surprised by the price and asked if all frames were really that expensive now. She said yes, that prices had gone up across the board. Feeling pressured and unaware of other options, I went ahead with the purchase, believing it was my only viable choice. Later, I found out that many frames at Pearle Vision are not $1,000 and that more affordable options were available -- I was simply never shown them. As a senior citizen, I now feel I may have been deliberately steered toward a high-priced item. I suspect Emily may work on commission and prioritized the sale over my needs or budget. I walked away feeling misled and taken advantage of. If you're visiting, especially if you're a senior, be sure to ask explicitly to see all frame options -- including lower-priced ones. Just turning 60, I finally had to do the glasses thing, not knowing much about the whole process, we picked a local eye doctor and we came up with Pearle Vision, the Dr was excellent, staff was very helpful and the products in the store were all top of the line. There were a few different ways to do the contact lens maintenance, so I did the monthly and I got great discounts. I ordered new Ray*Bans for glasses. Didn't expect to spend as much as I did, but insurance covered a good portion and really got the best service and products around. This was my second time doing business with Pearl Vision. The first time the glasses had the wrong correction in them and they had to be remade. Then there was a delay caused by the fact that I wanted them to reuse my old frames and the screws in them were non-standard. This time was for new lenses and new frames. It took two calendar weeks for them to be ready, and they had the wrong lenses in them. They said it would take a week to have new lenses made and installed. Ten days later I stopped in to find out when they would be ready and they said it would take yet another week. About a week later they call and informed me that my new glasses would be ready in another week. I informed them that I was "profoundly unhappy with them". They seems to be nice people, but I do not know how competent their lab is. I will find someone else to handle my vision needs. read more

We had an appointment scheduled on Friday but had a personal issues that caused us to not be able to make the appointment. I called in beforehand and they were able to reschedule us for the very next day! Loved the availability and flexibility they were able to provide. We were assisted by Cathy and she was amazing! She really helped my 12 year old daughter feel confident in her selection and gave her several options. Even offered to post her on their Instagram account - she now feels like a celebrity. If this review was just for Cathy's service she would get As a family of 3, all of our items arrived at different times. We had a total of 3 pairs glasses, 1 year supply of daily contact lenses and 1 pair sunglasses. - My husbands glasses were ready after 1 week. - My daughters glasses, my glasses and my husbands contacts were ready by the 3rd week. - My sunglasses are still not ready and it's been 5 weeks. I'm not exactly sure why the dates are so staggered but it would have been really nice to have an accurate estimate of time esp since some of the items were paid out of pocket without using an insurance discount. If the expectation was set that I'd be waiting 5+ weeks for prescription sunglasses, I would have opt'd out of them. On top of that, each time we call for an update, they say it should only be a few more days.... They also offer a free bottle of eyeglass cleaner with every positive review. This review is my own and I did not accept the offer but my daughter posted one for them on Google. Overall, 4 out of 5 stars since we are happy with 4 of the 5 items we ordered. read more
