However, my experience with the staff, particularly Collette, was disappointing. After my exam, I worked with Collette to try on frames for my low prescription. I found a pair I liked but decided to hold off until I felt better and could return with a second opinion. Collette made a subtle remark under her breath about hoping the frames would still be there, which struck me as unnecessary. Two days later, she called to ask if I was coming back for the frames. When I explained that I was still deciding and had requested a copy of my prescription, her tone noticeably shifted. She sounded curt and dismissive, and told me getting my prescription wasn't her department, even though the front desk is only steps away. When I later called back for an update, she answered again and was just as dismissive. I didn't feel confident my request would be followed through, and asked to speak with someone else. Her response made it clear that helping me was a burden. Ultimately, I had to make a third contact and visit the office in person to get my prescription. Even then, it wasn't signed by the doctor, and no one, including Collette, acknowledged the confusion or offered an apology. I've worked in customer service and wouldn't speak to any customer the way I was spoken to. I expected more from an office with such strong reviews and designer branding. Unfortunately, due to the unprofessional behavior I experienced, I won't be returning.

So I called Dr. Shari's office and was advised that I should undergo an exam since it had been some time since my last exam. Dr. Shari met with me; and after an initial consultation with one of the doctor's associates, she tested my vision and analyzed the photos of my eyes. Wonder of wonders, despite the time that has passed and my advanced age, there was no change. So I could proceed with new glasses using the same prescription. I wanted the same frame design that I was happy with, and I was happy to hear that the model was still available and had not been discontinued. So I proceeded to order the new glasses. Dr. Shari's associate fulfilled the order very competently and professionally. In a few days I should be happy to see the world again as I did.

She doesn't have a clue how to manage the staff or the office files, and she feels being "right" supersedes keeping the patients of doctors' she's employed by coming to this office. If you need quality service in an eye center, look elsewhere... They even auto schedule you for appointments and only notify you the week of after the rest of the month is full.

It's like filling a job application and want to know everything. Also, it would be easier to choose glasses in the men's and women's section not all mixed. I also didn't like that I had to pay for an extended warranty and if they brake I still have to pay a percentage of it. Usually the frame has a one year warranty. Then they show you options for glare, blue light, and transition and there's a great, a good, and a okay one. I just wasn't too happy with this but I have learned and next time check different places and get quotes before choosing a place.

I was so happy the way they turned out, I decided to have another pair made into sunglasses. Once again, Dr. Vitale and staff did an amazing job fitting another twenty five year old pair of Ray-Ban Wayfarers (tortoise frames) with prescription "transition" lenses. In the past year, I've had Dr. Vitale's office transform four pairs of regular sunglasses into prescription sunglasses, including an expensive pair of Harley sunglasses, and, another twenty five year old pair of Ray-Ban wraps (tortoise biker frames) All four pairs work great while riding too! In case you're wondering about the twenty five year old Ray-Bans, back then a good friend was the Chicago rep for Ray-Ban, and GAVE samples of whatever I liked. I'd HIGHLY recommend Dr. Vitale and staff for all your eye care needs, they're AWESOME!
