All of that was rectified when I took a chance by going in to see Dr. Johnny and his team of professionals. - Years later now I look back and I'm so thankful to God first and foremost, myself for having courage and Bay Breeze Dental for being the dentist office of integrity and understanding that they are. - They didn't make me feel embarrassed by my dental condition, I felt very at ease, welcomed and accepted. I had no insurance at the time, but they were accommodating by setting me up on a payment that was within my monthly budget. - Most importantly they played more of a key role than I think they even realize in helping me create and live out a better life. Something very good emerges from within you when you don't feel embarrassed about the way your mouth looks. You feel free to talk with people, even up close. You can give a loved one a kiss and not hope they're not thinking how disgusting your mouth looks. - Maybe those insecurities were only my own, but I doubt it. Carolyn and Brenda are also amazing dental assistants who always make appointments more enjoyable by their friendly presence. Mandeep is extremely thorough as a dental hygienist while trying to be as gentle as possible (which I appreciate as a patient with super sensitive nerves) and Dr Johnny is as consistent as ever with his excellent care, patience, and dedication to not upcharging for unnecessary work. He'll always provide all the options & details and is happy to answer as many questions as it takes for his patients to feel comfortable and well cared for before committing to any procedures or costs. My husband received a crown several years ago with an initial quote of $1,000, which we paid in full. Later, they called claiming he owed an additional $700 because insurance didn't cover the "remaining" amount. After reading similar complaints in their reviews, we declined to pay this surprise bill. It appears this office has a pattern of billing insurance for treatments they consider "necessary" but that insurance companies reject as unnecessary. We switched dentists after this experience. Unfortunately, my husband's crown broke within just 4 years - much sooner than expected for quality dental work. Based on my research, premature crown failure typically happens due to poor materials or improper installation, not normal wear (and I can confirm there was no physical impact nor teeth grinding involved). I wanted to share this experience so you can make informed decisions about your dental care.

Dr. Atul honored the agreed upon pricing and completed the implant on time and on budget. Because she did a good job, my next procedure was to replace my 3-tooth bridge which was quite old and in need of replacement. During this process, complications developed, attributed to the age of the existing bridge and metal structure, Dr, Atul had the skills to manage through these complications and in the process honored the agreed upon pricing, effectively choosing to waive the added costs from managing the complications. I am writing this review because the Doctor went above and beyond to deliver a quality dental effort on time and on budget. I left this office feeling like my Dental-Cal insurance was never taken seriously…read more Before scheduling my appointment on July 27, I specifically called and asked whether my Dental-Cal insurance covered a root canal and crown and whether there would be any out-of-pocket charges. I wanted to know this before spending time on an appointment because I was trying to avoid unnecessary X-rays if the treatment wouldn't be fully covered and I was told yes everything was covered. After I arrived, they took a full set of X-rays and only then told me that my insurance would not cover the core buildup (foundation buildup) needed after the root canal and that I would have to pay approximately $800 out of pocket. They also began recommending a cleaning that my insurance did not cover, along with several other additional services that increased the cost. I felt this information could have been discussed before my appointment, especially since I had specifically asked about coverage beforehand. Instead, I spent time taking X-rays that I ultimately didn't need at this office. I decided to get a second opinion at UCSF Dental, where my Dental-Cal covered my treatment, including the root canal, core buildup, and crown. They also performed a thorough examination, identified cavities that were not mentioned during my visit to Heyday, and even quoted me a lower price for dental implants than what I was being asked to pay here for a single root canal procedure. Based on my experience, I would encourage anyone with Dental-Cal to carefully verify exactly what is covered before scheduling treatment. I wish I had gone to UCSF first, as it would have saved me time, unnecessary X-rays, and frustration. I truly feel they tricked me into coming to this appointment just to take advantage of my insurance plan.
