Went to Pearl's for the first time for their dinner service and it was great! The restaurant is very cute inside they have nice lighting and the bar is very nice. We tried their Old no. 1 and the Totebag boyfriend pizza after our breadstick appetizer. It was all great but the old no. 1 was my favorite! The service was great as well! I definitely want to go back to try out their bagels

Our bagels were so good and the fruit was extremely fresh. I highly recommend the bacon egg and cheese

S(cream) Queen, delicious the egg yolk really added to the flavor

Definitely a 4 star. The pizza while very good was not great, and so if you're known for pizza then it'd better be great to get a 5 star. That being said it's a nice little restaurant and my family had a wonderful time there. Pearl's is a small, narrow restaurant but it was warm and cozy and surprisingly didn't feel cramped. There's a short bar at the back of the restaurant and there's a few tables on the side walk out front, perfect seating on this cool fall night. I took note of the poor reviews about their service when looking up Pearls on Yelp, though I found them pleasant enough. Except for the dour looking fellow at the entrance, the staff was friendly and service came at a nice pace. We started off with some cocktails and Peroni, my wife found her glass of natural wine (air quotes and sarcasm) to taste "weird" and switched to purl pink marg. We got the half dozen oysters, Thai mussels and wood fired sardines. The oysters were small (west coast or Japanese, they didn't say) and fresh and delicious. It was served with the kim chee mignonette rather than classic, we're Asian so they guessed kim chee, I assume. I'd prefer the classic. The mussels were good too and the coconut lemongrass broth was savory and great for dipping the accompanying bread. Tinned sardines are a common in the land of small plates (Spain) and a comfort food in Portugal, but this isn't Spain so I was surprised it was on the menu and a bit intrigued. One bite and my hopes that this would be transformative were dashed. The green/pickled onions added a bit of novel flavor but the tinned sardines are much like sardines you get from Kroger. The four of us shared the No 1(margherita), the hellbabe, and the scream queen. These wood fired "artisan" pizzas are small to medium in size. Other than the margherita, these were not your classics but unlike a lot of "artisan" pizzas the flavors worked well and these were each very good in their own way. They weren't great because the crust was a little too chewy or rubbery. Their inflated prices also bring it down a notch, I'm embarrassed to say how much I paid for 3 pizzas, some drinks and a tin of sardines. Oh, wood fired tin of sardines. Plus they tack on that 20% gratuity that yelpers have criticized. I'm fine with it, but seriously for takeout. Rubbish. I really appreciated the owners response to customers questioning this practice, "gratuity is distributed among our employees on top of the livable wage..." Hahaha, right?! That's the whole reason for this uniquely American custom of tipping, because we are led to believe that you don't pay staff a livable wage and we have to augment their paltry salary. Anyway, nice cozy little pizza joint with pretty good pizza and cocktails.

What a great spread of small plates! It was outstanding.

Their bagels are excellent. I really enjoyed the Trout Bagel and next time I really want to try the brisket bagel -I hear that it is amazing as well!

Does this place still add gratuity to every order?

If you already pay a living wage, why the need to force the customer to pay 20% on top of that? If you say they deserve more than a living wage, why not pay them that yourselves and let the customer pay any additional amount they feel is merited?…

This is a fully functional restaurant and or cafe style place. They have a great menu. The menu is seasonal. It's not simple by any standards. In fact it's a great little high end place for garden parties. But today it's just two simple individuals that are having lunch in a garden together. Now we had some sort of special lunch arrangement with hummus and a Greek like salad. It was fresh and delicious. They have great coffee offerings. You must have the flavored gelato with coffee. We had the hazelnut one. It's delicious especially on these hot humid summer days. The service was great. Not being from the area they had to explain the menu to us. A few times. But all went well. They make the gelato offerings as soon as they are ordered. The food they call at the end, eventually. It's made to order. Now where else can you eat in a green house garden? Here in Lexington! This was a first for us. They have all sorts of Sunday concerts while you dine. Music among the trees and flowers. Wow! You can come to poetry readings and relax as you hear the love of someone's works. I'll see you at the Garden next time.

This place is a must for anyone local if you haven't been, and if you're not local, it's seriously worth the trip! There are so many great things I can say about OBC, the service is phenomenal; professional, amazing recommendations, and they go out of their way to give you an unforgettable experience! Their bourbon selection is fantastic; they're guaranteed to have everything you'd want and even some things you haven't tried or been able to find anywhere else. The food is on another level! Starting with with bacon in the glass for the table is a must! This gives you a taste of the quality to come and the peanut butter accompaniment that comes with it works so well! The depth of flavor in the Cola-Braised Short Rib Tacos is unreal & even their rolls are amazing! The Ribeye is cooked to your exact liking; is a very high quality cut, and has a delicious seasoning which is the differentiator for me that makes this one of my favorite steaks I've had in a very long time! I could go on & on, but you need to experience it for yourself!

We also had coffees (regular drip for me and an iced latte for him). And I also tried the key lime gimlet. It's made with Castle & Key gin which is a favorite of mine. Ambience was very nice and the food was delicious. I asked for a side of bacon. I am very particular about my bacon and it came out cooked perfectly, crispy but not burnt. Service was fantastic and pleasant. The only criticism I had is that the red onion in my omelet was bitter. But no one's fault, sometimes onions are very astringent. Everything else was delicious and well made. Oh and we got the house made cinnamon roll for the table. This was delicious. So buttery and gooey with cinnamon. It's enormous (easily shareable between 6+ people) and absolutely delicious. The Sourdough Breakfast Sandwich was a close second at 9/10, a great classic executed really well. The Banana Bread Latte was an 8/10 -- very good but ask for it less sweet. The Iced Cinnamon Bun Latte and Eggs in Heaven both landed at 6/10. The latte sounds incredible on paper but the cinnamon bun flavor didn't quite come through, and while the Eggs in Heaven dish itself is a good concept, my eggs were unfortunately not cooked to my liking. We really enjoyed sitting outside and enjoying our breakfast! Service was good, a little slow but they were very friendly! It happens every time & on each occasion, I called the Hamburg location & spoke with the store manager. His response every single time is, "we use outside vendors like door dash & I don't know why it does that." Every single time! They should be prosecuted for false advertising because the management knows they are providing false information & they continue to do it. About a month ago I was hungry for a pizza but had abdominal surgery & couldn't drive. So, I broke my own rule & ordered delivery. Guess what, they charged me an extra $2.00 again for "Free Delivery". But, this time was even worse than the other stale deliveries. The pizza arrived 40 minutes late, it was left on the ground outside my front door & the delivery driver did not ring my doorbell or text me notification of delivery. I wouldn't have even known it had been delivered if I didn't happen to look out my home office window and see the driver pulling out. I opened the box and the pizza was cold & cheese was hard. I took 1 bite & threw away my $20 pizza incl the $2 "free delivery" charge! I had a $5 tip ready for the driver. He saved me $5 by dumping the cold, hard, stale pizza on my porch & driving off. If you want to be scammed out of $2, like cold, stale and hard pizza and a store manager that has been lying about the delivery charge for the past 18 months, order "Free Delivery" and you'll get it just the way you like it !!!
