This was my first time at Rise Up Pizza, and it completely exceeded my expectations. I tried a couple of their individual slices, the seasonal meat pizza with corn, poblano, country ham, and blueberry relish, plus a classic pepperoni slice, and their breadstick. Every single bite was incredible. I love that they use a sourdough dough. The crust was so flavorful and perfectly chewy with an amazing crispy bottom. The breadstick was absolutely to die for, especially with the garlic butter. This is hands down the best Detroit style pizza I've had. You can tell how much creativity and care goes into everything they make. The owner is incredibly talented, and this place deserves so much more recognition. They also have a cozy indoor and outdoor seating area and a few free parking spots on the side, which makes visiting even easier. If you love pizza, you need to give Rise Up Pizza a try! read more

This review is specifically for the food truck. My friends said Rise Up Pizza was parked by their neighborhood and suggested it. Since I never heard of it, I was open to trying it. They didn't have a big variety on their menu but they only had 1 person working. I went with the pepperoni slice with a breadstick. I was surprised how cheap it was. My total only came out to be $6.00. The food was goo. The crust was thick and there were a lot of pepperonis on it. It was disappointed in the lack of cheese on the pizza. It was practically nonexistent. There was some sprinkled parmesan and that's about it. Luckily there were a lot of seasonings on the pizza so it wasn't a deal breaker. Detroit style pizza is the best kind of pizza, if you disagree then you're tacky and I hate you. We tried the pepperoni za and it was fabulous. This pizza place apparently started as a food truck and has gone brick and mortar. And indeed, Greyline station is full of exposed brick, and the little sliver of space they've chosen to occupy has nothing more than a kitchen and a register. You eat outside, and they send you a text when it's ready. They do a sourdough crust in an oblong shape, with pretty limited choices. The veggie special they had when I stopped by, with peppers, mushrooms, and a dash of diced red onion was perfect for me. The mushrooms were quality, and the toppings in balance, and the cheese tasted like maybe some provolone was mixed in there. They offered me a taste of an experimental lemon mint eggplant pizza, which was overly salted and not as good. The base of the pizza is a just slightly sour dough with a bit of delicious charring. It's a pricey pizza with limited choices and quality ingredients. I haven't yet found a go-to Lexington pizza, but I was happy with this one. read more

Doesn't look like much when you past by, but Rise Up Pizza is definitely a great go-to spot for a sizeable lunch during the workweek. I took advantage of their lunch time special and had the two topping pizza with pepperoni and banana peppers. My coworkers were super jealous of my food and one of them even went to Rise Up after I had brought my meal back to my desk haha. The pizza was fabulous! I really enjoyed their thin crust and the banana peppers were sensational. I wasn't huge fan of the dough they used for their garlic knots, I prefer garlic knots that are more mushy and softer, but they were still pretty decent if you're looking for a healthier version for garlic knots. Lauren who worked the counter that day, was really nice and friendly, and made a first time experience very enjoyable. I definitely do want to check out more of their menu in the future! read more

So came here as a last minute thing since the place I really wanted to go to was closed. So me and my friend came to check out the new building that just got renovated. It's cool this place is inside a mixed used place for other shops and dinning to check out while you wait for your food to get done. So they have a counter for a few people to sit and eat and a common area you can also eat for all the restaurants. But back to the food. The pizza was spot on! I wasn't expecting the pizza to remind me so much of home. (I'm from New York.) The crispiness of the crust to the toppings being the right crispiness was just phenomenal. The cheese and sauce was just right also. I ate the whole thing in one sitting and regret nothing. The garlic knots were on point also. This place was so amazing I wish we had one here in Michigan. I was in the Limestone/Loudon area two Saturdays ago so I stopped in Greyline to meander, having never heard of Rise Up. I think there used to be a BBQ joint there. I got two cheese slices served by the owner. Very nice. Thick crust, not greasy or loaded with cheese. Place has a cool vibe. I saw where it won the best Pizza in Lex award in 2022. I can see that. Going back for more slices. I love me some Good Fellas but I think Rise Up is better albeit they are completely different types of pizza. read more

Rise Up pizza has a perfect crust if you like thin and crunchy but not too thin. This crust is real sourdough, so is slightly chewy but at the same time crispy. What's not to like? The standard toppings are all great but I usually try one of the inventive specials. I had a date and I think gouda with a spicy topping that was really delicious, but also always like the beesting pizza. For me the sauce makes or breaks a pizza - the sauce here is great, in the right proportion. The size is just right for dinner with maybe a slice left for lunch. OK so maybe once in awhile a tiny portion of the crust gets burnt - I think that's due to the oven they use. We had this truck at our wedding, and I cannot say enough about it. There was a truck that backed out a few months before, and Matt stepped in seamlessly. He was so excited to be part of our day, and made the whole process stress free. He worked to create a pizza inspired by the bride and one inspired by the groom which was just TOO COOL! The guests loved the pizzas, and we were extremely happy with our choice in trucks. I'm glad the other truck backed out, because this alternative was way better. He made my husband and I each a pizza to take home after the wedding which was so thoughtful. He stuck around far past the reception to make sure everyone was fed. I was at the Sig Luscher brewery in Frankfort and Rise Up was there. The music started at 6 and we got there a little before 7. I went to the food truck and was looking at the menu board when someone (the chef?) grabbed the sign and put it in the truck. I asked, "are you closing?" and he said, "yeah we're closed."
