I done with this place. The lack of customer service is terrible especially since the service is expensive. Its a crowded tight space at the back of a beauty supply store. I was there yesterday to get a.pedi . Upon arrival I was told to.sit.in a pedi chair . I noticed. Another women in a.chair waiting.also. 3 people were presently.getting their feet done. Ok so i.figured me and the other lady waiting were next . Two other people come in and are seated in pedi chairs also. Long story short ,they started working on the last two that came in after me! So of course I questioned them as to what was going on since I was here way before them. NOBODY ANSWERED! NOT THE OWNER OR WORKERS! The customer had to tell me that they were here earlier and wad told to come.back in a hour. Now what kind of nonsense is that . Terrible customer service in this place . They let people leave and come back , then when u question what's going on the owner doesn't. Even open her mouth to explain . Just plain rude to ignore a legitimate question from a customer wanting to know why are u servicing another that came after. This location is just okay -I go here for convenience but as much as the owner charges for the bare minimum you should be able to have cell service. When you ask for WiFi information, you are redirected to the cash register (this location doubles as a salon and beauty supply store), imagine my surprise when I ask for the password and I'm asked if I need it for long because if he provides it then he's not able to use the credit card machine. How is that my problem?? There is little to no service to utilize internet make calls etc and if I'm paying $40+ for a service then as a business provide proper service to your PAYING CUSTOMERS! IN 2021 this place still SUCKS!!! I have patronized it on occasion since i moved to Coop City in 2017. Each and every experience has sucked, I dont know if I am a glutton for punishment or just too dangon lazy to leave my neighborhood to get my nails done. But this is my last and finally time after spending $150 dollars in the past two weeks on a lousy ass gel mani and pedicure that chips in 4 days (absurd!). I have had enough. They are high. Lets just talk about the past two weeks, My first session my total came up to a whopping $80.00 for a Essie Gel Mani & Pedicure. The nail tech was lousy. Hurt my feet. Cut my toenails and made me bleed. Before I could just leave after such a sucky expensive experience, the owner forced me to tip $5!!!! each!!! To the nail techs! Um sweetie, OUR JOB AS CUSTOMERS IS NOT TO PAY UR EMPLOYEES THEIR FAIR WAGES! Thats ur job! Its obviously unethical how the owner makes us tip EVEN AFTER A LOUSY JOB. And she demands it. That is incredibly intimidating. And i hope someone calls the police on her one day. So to avoid causing an scene, my total has now became $90 for a CRAPPY JOB! My Essie Gel Mani and Pedicure polish chipped in four days. now my dumbass, because I admit i gave them far too many chances & keep going back - i mean you know i really get lazy & not want to trek too far throughout this pandemic so i give them another go before a date night. I just wanted a simple gel nail polish change NO WATER AT ALL TOUCHING MY HANDS OR FEET, no shaping, no buffering, no cuticle clipping, no massage chair NOTHING. Just gel nail and thats it. This time using PERFECT MATCH Gel Nail, hoping that this would not cause chipping. I am an avid perfect match gel nail user and have had no problems with it at other nail salons (like The one located in Bay Plaza Mall). Im hoping this will reduce the total. It was reduced to $60.00 this TIME I REFUSED TO GIVE THEM A TIP! Period! What?!!!!!! $60.00 for some freaking nail polish! Are you nuts? $30.00 for feet $30.00 to change nail polish. I only had $50.00 cash and told her she would have to take this or use my credit card and the owner said ok go to the front and i turned to walk away started chasing after me to take my card so she can take it up for me, like ima walk off out the store for her measily lil $10.00! I told her to stop following me like ima steal something. The owner is a little nasty money hungry woman and if she doesnt get it together - tsk tsk tsk! Oh btw the perfect match nail also chipped in four days WHICH IS VERY UNUSUAL therefore, they are clearly diluting their polish and you ARENT AT ALL GETTING WHAT YOU PAY FOR. I do NOT recommend. Gave one star because you have to in order to do the review. Old polish which began cracking when I put my hand under the UV light!! They took it off tried again, the polish did not crack this time but its lumpy! I asked for a simple design two people later... this is what I got...and was charged full price, no apology. They also tried to say they couldn't shape my nails properly because they were too short, when I arrived they were much longer the girl cut my nails down with a nail clipper. Rather than being professional and apologizing they put the blame back on to the customer. Very poor service. In addition this is the only salon I've ever gone to where you have to pay to turn on the massage feature on the chair when you're getting a pedicure. Where do they do that at? Prices are very good at this store however it is very crowded and congested. Boxes are all over the place and it is a hazard to walk in this place. It is such a tight squeeze that people have to touch each other just to walk down the aisle. They sell great products and a good supply but it's just too tight and unsafe. read more

It's difficult to rate this shop since it's practically 2 different places in one; you have the back of the store which serves as the nail shop and you have the front of the store which serves ur beauty supply needs. I'll start with the front. When u first enter the store ur immediately hit with beauty supply products. I'm not speaking metaphorically or being dramatic...ur literally hit with supplies because the doorway itself is inundated with things hanging from, and around it. Ur literally able to grab things off of the wall without even fully walking through the door. Like, from the outside. There's a young girl who works the aisles assisting customers as needed. There's also a man and a woman who alternate cashier responsibilities. They have a fairly good variety of hair and skin products, however everything is massively overpriced. I understand it's Co-op City and so things won't be as cheap as they would be at a beauty supply store in the hood, but still. The margin of difference is several dollars higher for sum things. They have a limited supply of wigs and hair as well. The aisles are also quite narrow, as they wanted to stock as many items as possible in a small place. Then we get to the back of the store where the spa services are; and by "spa services" I mean a few dilapidated mani/pedi chairs and a very suspicious looking waxing area. There's no real line of demarcation between the two areas. Anyway, they don't clean the foot basin after each customer which is totally unacceptable to me. They also reuse the waxing materials which is also unacceptable. They don't do any eyebrow threading which is, as you probly already guessed, unacceptable. It's 2018; every "spa" should offer threading. I was in a rush, and so I was gonna bite the bullet and have my brows waxed. I sat in the chair for almost 10 minutes before I was even acknowledged. Then a lady just came up to me and without even addressing me, told me to lay my head back. I told her that the waxing stick was dirty, and asked for a new one. She said it just "looks" dirty because it's been in the hot wax overnight. Wait, what? She said they leave the wax on overnight to sanitize the sticks. Again...wait, what? What does leaving the wax burning all night have to do with sticks? Then she said that she wouldn't be changing the stick and just walked off leaving me confused in the chair. I thought maybe she went off to find sumone else to explain it to me in a clearer way since her English wasn't great, but nope. She left and never returned. So I did the same! I won't be going back there because customer service is everything to me. If u need beauty supplies, u can go right to RiteAid next door or even Stop & Shop a few doors down. read more

Customer Service is not understood here. They don't understand sanitary conditions..They do not sterilize their nail instruments...one time she used a MetroCard to wipe up the glue and was confused when I yelled at her for attempting to do so. This store need to stick to just beauty supply the nail section need to close up. Visited a few time and each time the customer service experience was poor. I refuse to support this business. The place is dirty and the "owners" are rude. The young women who perform pedicures here are treated terribly by the "owners." Complaint #1 They wanted to charge me extra to use two colors even though I brought my own polish. That would not have been a problem if the "owner" ( woman who dies fill ins and sits at the front) had not so rudely and dismissively pointed out the sign to me in pure disgust when I asked her nicely when the new practice had started. She was extremely rude. Complaint #2 They had a free paraffin wax special. A woman with a raw cut on her foot received the treatment. They wanted me to go behind her and use the same wax. When I pointed out the previous woman's cut they did not care. Needless to say I did not get the treatment and unsuspecting people went behind that woman. Also, I go here out of convenience. It's close and they sell hair care products but I always bring my own tools and have to see them wash the pedi basin because the place is just dirty. Shame on me for ever compromising. Complaint #3 When I was sharing my story with a girlfriend she said she had stopped going a while ago because she choose a color and was told she was too dark for it. Need I say more. This place is horrible. The customer service sucks. They are very money hungry. I never feel good after I get my nails or eyebrows done from there. I give it two stars because the girls in the front end of the store (the beauty supply section) are really nice and cool. The back part sucks .!!! I'll never go back there. They botched my eyebrow. Took off too much hair n I'm still waiting for it to grow back. Manicures don't last, pedicures are pretty good but they order you to pay first and insist on a tip.! They do one HELL of a pedicure! The nail techs do not do a whole lot of talking because they are very focused on what they are doing. I left out of there pleased today after treating myself to a mani-pedi. Quick Tips -Mon-Wed Mani & Pedi for $21 -Read ALL the signs on the wall as "ghetto" as the may be handwritten and/or misspelled they tell you about special svc, prices and policies -Do NOT go late because they rush you out the door at closing despite if your nails are dry or NOT! -Be warned the space is cramped I have no idea why they minimized the space the way they did to have 75% of the store as a Beauty Supply that no one shops at. Going to a Spa or Nail Salon is a treat one should enjoy. Time to lay back and enjoy some of your hard earned money. Going to this Nail Salon isn't a TREAT. The nail tech's are mean spirited, I've been cut on purpose in my hands and toes cuticles each time I go to this salon. The Mexican staffers act like they own the Salon and treat the customers badly. They don't interact with the customers and the oldest one runs the show. If she tells the girls to do you badly they will. If I owned the business I would fire all the Nail Tech's and replace them with Nail Tech's that are friendly and treat my customers well! Tech's that don't run away good paying customers that tips well!! This place needs a NEW ATTITUDE!! The pedicure was excellent. However, the customer service is HORRIBLE! They charge for everything! I wanted two colors on my nails, not a design, one color on eight and one color on two. They charged me an additional $2 for my hands and ANOTHER $2 for my feet. It's not like I was using extra polish. They are a neighborhood business taking advantage of local people. Trust me, it's worth the time to go to Westchester or downtown if you can. Buy the time they finish nickel and diming you for every little thing, you will pay Westchester or downtown prices anyway. I've gone to this beauty supply store for years solely to buy hair products and make up but I decided I wanted acrylic nails so I thought why not here? It was already pretty pricey for acrylics with one color. I asked how much and she told me $30(same thing it said on the board of prices hung on the wall). I said fine and waited for about 30 minutes to finally get my turn. The girl doing my nails was NOT being careful when filing down my nails to my desired shape. She would compare them and then file aggressively without checking the shape again. When she was finished the bill ended up being $45. I asked why and she would not give me a clear answer. If you're going to charge extra for something I need to be told about it. This place just robs people for money. It wouldn't have gotten me so mad if I actually liked the way my nails turned out. Some aren't painted all the way to the cuticles and most of my nails are slightly different shapes. What made this experience even worse was that I had to go back because I noticed my thumb nails were completely uneven!! I had to wait to get it fixed and not once did they apologize. Instead I got an attitude from person who did my nails. One of my other nails were obviously filed way too much on the right side of it making it look so crooked so I wanted that fixed as well but the lady refused as she would have to do the whole nail over again for a mistake she made. Me complaining caused the owners to talk about it in their language right in front of me and it didn't take a genius to tell. The owner chuckled at the situation while glancing at me. I left extremely disappointed and would never recommend the back section of the beauty supply to anyone. Peartree Nail Salon is the WORST! I will never patronize this business again. Hopefully more people will read these reviews and stop going there . All they care about is your money. I got a mani and pedi and they were done simultaneously! Both techs talked non stop in Spanish... In any language, that's unacceptable for business . And sure as be darn, the mani was a half done job and the pedicure was a disaster! The clearly untrained tech cut my toenail down in half!!! Yes, so I left with a midget toenail... I wanted to slap her so bad...when I showed it to management, she rudely told me I needed an extension!? Really?! If I had the time, I was tempted to call the cops and demand my money back!
