The tip was already included in the cost of my drink and food. It was a bit surprising to also have my friend's medium-sized drink placed in a small cup due to "proportion." One peculiar aspect was the side of the house salad that I paid $4 for, which was a single scoop. On the bill, it's listed as 10% facilities fees, which may vary depending on the total amount of your bill. I do enjoy the drink, so I'll likely return for just a drink next time. However, I might stick to ordering takeout, as I found it odd to be charged for facilities fees. Update: Actually I won't be returning. After I posted my review, not even two minutes later Sarah confronted me and said, "Why a two-star review?" with a passive-aggressive tone. She claimed that the demographic of their customers uses the facilities for their children. I felt attacked and had to step back because she was stepping toward me. She made me and my friends feel uncomfortable. Her saying that they cater to children and families felt like we weren't welcome there as young adults who just wanted to enjoy some food and coffee after a long day. She also mentioned that she brought us water to the table, and claimed "how could that be two-star service?" Regardless of dining in, you still have to pick up your food and drink at their ordering window. She did explain to me that the 10% gratuity can be waived if we pickup. We originally arrived at the cafe excited and ended up walking out feeling disappointed and in disbelief. This cafe definitely only caters to a specific demographic and we don't feel welcome to return nor recommend the cafe. Overall, her approach felt very hostile, and instead of approaching me with understanding, it felt like she was pressuring me to change this review when she could have simply apologized. A simple "I'm sorry for your experience, please let us make it up to you" or "Thank you for your feedback, how can we change your experience?" P.s. if you order the Italian sandwich be ready for a lunch-able proportion. read more

Visiting from out of town and was excited to find this place! Came here with our 2 kids and they loved it. They played for almost 2 hours on the little playground, with the big ball suction tube, and a bunch of the toys they had available. Our kids get bored of things easy so the fact it kept their attention says a lot! It gave my wife and I some time to actually talk to each other for once (parents you know what I mean) so that was a win too! It's a small spot but they use the space well, offering indoor and outdoor seating. You order online and then it's put in a pickup window for you. They offer lots of coffee options and some normal cafe-type food offerings like sandwiches, açaí bowls (which were yummy), and some options for kids too. They require a purchase for your kids to play there, which I think is very fair. The place was kept clean especially considering how many kids come through there. The employees were very nice and thoughtful. If it's your first time there like it was for us, they give you the run down of how everything works. My wife enjoyed her vanilla lavender latte. She did say the cups were simple so having a little nicer looking plastic cups would take it up a notch, but it's not a deal breaker. Also, it took about an hour to get our açaí bowl, which was fine because we would have been there that long anyway, but there was only one employee working there when we got there (right when it opened) and she was obviously overloaded. Absolutely love the concept of this space! Peculiar play cafe is a breakfast and lunch cafe with a complimentary play area for kiddos. The play area is in full view of the dining area, making it easy to supervise your children while seated in the dining room. The play area is beautifully designed. As a woman who very frequently enjoys eating brunch and lunch out, I often leave many places thoroughly disappointed. Peculiar Play Cafe not only has an exciting family ambiance, but the chef and the staff are like no other! I ordered the "Pesto Me Please Wrap" and the "Triple C Croissant." I couldn't rave enough about the entree and the dessert! I was totally satisfied. This is the second time I visited this cafe. The first time, it was the best Acai bowl I ever tasted! They give you many choices of added toppings, and it was arranged and done to perfection. Also, I had a Dirty Pumpkin Spice Latte, which was delightful! I will be visiting this cafe frequently, knowing that the food is flavorful, fresh, and excellent! Kudos to the owners, the staff, and the chef! read more

This place is very cute and playful for kids, and the concept is great for families. The space itself is fun and kids will definitely enjoy it. However, the experience unfortunately wasn't worth the price. We ordered two drinks, an açaí bowl (which was basically just a smoothie blended up), and a chicken Caesar salad, and the total came out to about $60, which felt extremely overpriced for what we got. The biggest issue was the wait time. We waited over an hour (about 1 hour and 15 minutes) just for our drinks. We actually received our food before our drinks, which was really surprising. Waiting that long for coffee and drinks just didn't make sense, and by the time they came out we honestly didn't even want them anymore. Overall, while the place is cute for kids, the prices and long wait times made the experience disappointing. Personally, I'd rather spend that money and time taking the kids to a park or trampoline park instead. read more

This is the perfect place to bring the little ones. The breakfast sandwich was amazing. The bacon was perfectly crispy. The coffee is some of the best I've had, the espresso isn't overpowering like some places. The community and service is so friendly and welcoming.
