We had a great time! I booked a reservation for seven people for a bachelorette party. I called a few months in advance and they opened up the calendar reservation for us. No problem reserving the date. We shared the pedal saloon with another group, and we can't complain. They were fun and good-spirited. Toward the end it got hard to pedal cause a few of the group members were super drunk and looked like they weren't going to make it back, haha. However, we got the pedal saloon back. Tips: you can decorate the pedal saloon, which is fun. You should have every member of your party bring their confirmation emails because they do check that. read more

I can't believe it's taken me forever to write this review! I was invited to join a bunch of friends for a fun night of touring. Signup and payment were easy via online request. There is also an online waiver that we had to sign. TIP: Once you arrive, they will ask to see your confirmation of a signed waiver, so have that ready. We arrived and easily found the trolley. Our guide was helpful and hilarious! Trolley Pub has a set route and have already arranged with discounts at various bars. We enjoyed all of the places. Our favorite was Don Tito. They had amazing specials including yummy food and shots! The seats are high and we inter-changed seats with each other. I'm not really sure if our peddling really moved the trolley but we had fun pretending it did help! I'd definitely recommend this fun event. People on the streets get a kick out from seeing a bunch of women riding out in the open streets. read more

I reserved the trolley for a group of us for my husband's birthday. I got a call the night of the plans that they are canceling the trolley due to the weather. The weather was raining and scattered t-storms. We had people that flew and drove out of town to do this with us and were super excited! Our entire night was ruined from this phone call. Everyone agreed to do it even in the rain and were okay with getting soaked and we literally begged Brian the trolley guy to let us on and they still said no. It ended up raining hard in that area for like 20 mins and that was it! Also, the weather in the dc area is ALWAYS like this where it rains a few minutes and then it stops and these guys are from the area. I was told it's a safety risk and liability...I'm pretty sure we all planned to sign waivers before getting on board, not sure what the liability was here. Also, if you think the weather is going to be bad, shouldn't you call us at least a day before and let us know we should reschedule or just cancel? Unprofessional and rigid people. I had booked the trolley pub for my birthday with 13 other people. I paid the $400-something amount to reserve it. I had previously done a peddle pub in Minneapolis MN that was fantastic so we were all super excited. We were a little bummed that the trolley didn't allow drinking as the one in Minneapolis had, but I totally did not blame them for this as I understood that it was a county rule and not something that the company could control. The day of my birthday came around and all 14 of us show up to the address that they had given me in a confirmation email I had received a few days prior. There was nobody there, no trolley in site. I started calling the number I had... No answer. I tried emailing back to the confirmation I had... Nothing. I tried calling the main comapny line and was able to leave a very confused message asking politely if someone could please call me, since again, I had 14 people waiting, was several hundred bucks down and not to mention it was my birthday and we were anxious to get our party started! Thankfully I have good friends and we just patiently waited out front of the location until we could figure out what the deal was. About 20 min later I received a call back from the corporate office. They informed me that the trolley was shut down as they hadn't gotten one of their permits approved. They would not be reopening for several weeks. Ummm... WHAT?! I will say that they guy was very nice and apologetic... But I was so upset and nearly in tears that all the people who had traveled from out of town, rented hotel rooms and paid a steep cost to help me celebrate my birthday were left with nothing other than a meek "oh sorry nobody let you know that we had to cancel your event". The corporate office offered to refund my money within 7-10 business days (gee thanks?!) but then surprised me by offering a FREE trolley ride for the 14 of us at any available time in the future. I was pleasantly surprised but extremely grateful at the attempt to make up for their lack of communication and for such a big disappointment, on my birthday nonetheless. Fast forward a few months and I attempted to redeem our free trolley party. Whoever I spoke to said they had zero knowledge of this and it was completely unfounded that anyone would have ever offered that. They were super rude and spoke to me like I was ridiculous for suggesting that someone would have promised us a free ride. I tried to reach the corporate office by both email and phone a few other times and left several messages to see if I could rectify the situation... Never got a response. Needless to say I was appalled at the entire situation and horribly dissatisfied in their lack of communication, how I was treated and how the situation was handled including the unkept promise of a make-up ride. It's really a shame as I have had such a blast doing it elsewhere and was so excited it had come to our area. Thankfully I did finally get my money refunded (albeit several weeks after the promised timeframe) but unfortunately I was left with a pretty bad taste in my mouth from the entire experience with trolley pub Arlington. read more

As soon as I saw this trolley drive by my apartment upon moving to Arlington, I knew I had to do it. Once I had enough friends (you need 14 people total), I planned it, and had a blast! If you end up with 14 people (which I suggest you do), each person will pay $30. This includes specials at each bar (you get a wristband) as well as a 2 hour ride around the neighborhood. Our driver, Rachel, was super energetic and funny, and I've heard the other drivers are too. Pedaling the bike is actually pretty difficult before 4 people don't have pedals (on top of the wheels) meaning 10 people are pedaling for 15. The trolley is motorized though, which is mostly how we got around. Our driver did turn off the motor every once in awhile and let us pedal (ehich was pretty funny cause we would move at turtle speed) Overall a really funny night--I'd for sure recommend it! read more

It pains me to write this review, but the trolly is nothing like it used to be. I have done the trolly twice - once in September 2017 and now in April 2018. The first experience was fabulous and so much fun. My entire group had an amazing time and couldn't wait to do it again. For this second go around, the entire trolly itself was different. Completely human-powered with no motorized assistance. According to the Trolly operator, they were forced to switch by Arlington County to this other model. This model was not fun. So much effort to move the trolly, serious pedaling. If a few guests didn't pedal, the entire trolly couldn't move. Combine drinking, non-pedaling friends and hills = an unenjoyable experience. At one point two pedalers chains came off their tracks. It was quite noticeable when we lost their power. At $35 a head this isn't an inexpensive ride and I would never do it again unless they switch back to one with motorized assistance. Guest experience is everything and most of us couldn't wait to get off it. Here's to hoping they bring back the motorized assistants trolly read more

I have done these trolley pubs in other cities before and it's usually a great time no matter what because of the people you are with but these guys know how to make a good day great! From booking the Trolley with Greg and having what I thought were stupid or dumb questions answered about the logistics of the day to literally having the best day because of our driver, Nick, I will definitely be rebooking again this summer (and requesting Nick), yall should too! Got the LivingSocial deal for a full trolley pub and did it with a group of 15 friends. Everybody had a blast. We had two hosts, both named Greg (one of them was in training). They were very entertaining and gave us some tips and tricks throughout the ride. They trolley we rode in had a great sound system. We took a ride from Clarendon to Ballston and back, stopping at 4 bars total within the 2 hours. I think the value was great with the discount, but I would be reluctant to pay full price until they get a license to BYO booze. All in all, a great time though. NOTE: The trolley has space to store your stuff and the hosts will watch it for you while you go into bars. Also, there is a bench and a few pedal-less stools for those who prefer to be lazy. read more

Oh I hate this damn thing with a passion. For one I live in Clarendon. This trolley pub is loud,obnoxious and ridiculous looking. Those three things automatically make it fun. Its something I don't think I could ever participate in. I'm clumsy and I don't trust my stamina. However it's not always about me. For one the guides seem really nice and enthusiastic. The participants have always been super happy,fun-loveing and all around happy go lucky. Which I find simply adorable. If you and your friends like to be active and clown around this is for you. The Trolly Pub would be great for birthdays,office parties and would make for an awesome 21st birthday! read more

This was fun and I laughed a lot. 2 hours doesn't seem like enough time to get to more than 2-3 bars on the leg. I would also suggest they give you some routes to choose from given again that 2 hours isn't enough time to hit them all. Our guide was pretty average and didn't do or say or engage with us in any way that warranted tips. Overall a lot of fun Beware there is NO motor on this thing, we had 7 girls and it was a workout getting that thing moving. Would definitely do it again, with more people. read more

This is a great activity and a lot of fun!! I booked this trolley for November of last year. I had a special situation which makes unable to do the trolley at that date. They were very understanding of the situation and they allow me to reschedule to later date. the date was April of this year (4 months later). They keep their word and we were able to do the trolley. We has a blast!! John was our driver very fun, flexible and reasonable with a very loud group. I cannot recommend this company enough if you are looking for a fun tour in the area. The only two things that were not great (hence the four stars) is that since the trolley is somewhat slow, you don't get to do a lot of bar hopping (we did three bars) and even thou our driver told us that the trolley VIP specials were available all night, when we went to Bracket Room the waiter told us that the VIP special were not available. read more

I rented a private pedal saloon for my 31st birthday. We had an absolute blast. The coordination was incredibly easy. Our driver/host was John and he was fantastic. There was rain and thunder. He called me earlier in the day and gave me a heads up of the weather and what my options were. We still had dinner plans in the area after so we wanted to give it a try. He suggested we meet at one of the drink special bars and hang out there with him and monitor the weather. My whole group gathered there and had a few drinks. Extremely disappointed!!! They cancelled our trolley bc of a chance of rain when their website says trolley continues in rain. They didnt want to wait and see if the weather clears up, which it did. HORRIBLE!!! If your driver is Greg, ask for another driver. I booked this for my boyfriend's birthday this past weekend. It looked like a great time and nice way to spend a night out in Clarendon while the weather is still warm. I could not have been more wrong. The night began with an extremely rude phone call from Greg. Where he proceeded to demand why I did not answer his phone call at 9:00 pm(the trolley ride began at 10pm and I was enjoying dinner with my friends) and mimicked my voice when responding back to me. We boarded the trolley and Greg proceeded to pull out a water bottle full of rum from a previous group. He told my group that they could drink as long as they covered it up, he even went CVS to buy juice to further facilitate drinking on the trolley. Mind you I thoroughly explained to my group prior, that drinking was NOT allowed on the trolley. So when the drive himself encouraged this I was a bit surprised. As the night went on Greg proceeded to yell and get frustrated at the group for not covering up their drinking well enough. He even went as far as to call us "a bunch of fucking 4th graders". I left the trolley at the end of the night very disappointed and unimpressed with entire experience. It was not until the next morning that I became absolutely APPALLED. Greg had the audacity to txt me and say that my group was a "nightmare" and complained that we did not tip him enough. Needless to say I will never be doing this again. read more

The Trolley Pub itself is an excellent idea but what should have been a fun, carefree evening turned completely sour because of Greg. He was rude and immature, and completely unprofessional. But the trolley pub didn't show up until 3 minutes before departure time (even though the website said to be at the pickup location 15 minutes in advance). And then we had to wait ANOTHER 20+ MINUTES for a group of six to show up. On top of that, they then took over the music for the entirety of the tour. I know it's a tough position for the trolley driver but with such a delay we should have left without them OR been given a partial refund or something. And when it's a public tour I think the trolley driver should play more of a mediator role in selecting the music (especially since the music was full of expletives and we were pedaling around in public with lots of kids around). read more

A group of friends and I used the Pedal Saloon this past weekend for a celebration. While we partook in the experience last summer, this go around was completely different, as the "vehicle" is no longer motorized. In other words, a group of mostly girls had to strenuously pedal to keep this incredibly heavy trolley pub moving (as well as it's "conductor" as he is not able to help pedal and only added to the weight of the trolley). While we asked whether it would be difficult to pedal or whether it would take away from the experience, the response from Management was that it would not. Let me tell you, it certainly did. We are all moderately in shape individuals and it was quite difficult to keep it moving. We were all sweating, and could barely enjoy the not so inexpensive experience. This is on top of being honked at by traffic as we were barely moving at a jogging pace, even brought to a crawl if the road was at all inclined. To make matters worse, my chair did not even have a chain, and the chain on my friend's chair broke. Therefore, two less people were even able to assist. Although the rules dictating this activity in Arlington may not be under the control of Management, the faulty chains are. While Management and our "conductor" were all incredibly nice, I would certainly not recommend this if you are looking for a fun/leisurely activity with friends. If you are looking for a fitness cycling class outdoors, then give it a try! read more

Had an office happy hour on the Trolley Pub. It was a ton of fun. We got lots of waves, cheers, people taking pictures, etc... They don't serve alcohol on the Trolley Pub, but you can go around to the bars in Clarendon and do a pub crawl. It would be just that much more fun if they could serve alcohol on the Trolley Pub (I took off one star for that). The two hours goes by quick. I would try to spend as much time on the Trolley Pub as possible, and less in any bars you go to. You can always stay at one of the bars after the ride. They were also very flexible because it looked like it might rain the day of our tour and they said if we decided not to go because of the rain, we could get a rain check. We went anyway and the weather held out. The driver was great, it wasn't Kai, but unfortunately I don't remember his name. I would do it again. read more

Had such a great time! I booked this for a friend's birthday and it was a hit. You feel like a celebrity riding down the street with everyone snapping pictures and videos of you. Best for a fun, rowdy crew as it makes the ride more enjoyable. You definitely want to bring an iPod/iPhone so you can DJ and just rock out on your seat. I would not recommend booking this company if you're looking to plan a special and unique outing. My brothers bday event this past weekend was scheduled for months in advance and we had family and friends coming in from out of town. We received a call only an hour and a half before it was scheduled to begin to tell us the driver cancelled on us (no idea why - there was not bad weather) after everyone was already in town and was way too late to try to find or plan something else. They refunded our money but we wanted to do something different and memorable rather than just hop around to a bar or two - which we could have done anywhere and anytime.
