I went to get a tune up when i went on a ride i didn't have 8 or 3 gear never coming here again

I am an avid cyclist. I belong to a club and I have done a lot of daily riding as a commuter and I have also done some bike touring. About a month ago I bought a tandem bike. An old Cannondale aluminum frame that was about 20 years old and I wanted to update it from bar end shifters with a 3x7 drive train to 3x9 STI. I did some research and Pedalsport seems to be acknowledged as the tandem experts. I live in Vancouver and Pedalsport is in Chilliwack which is an hour away with no traffic and more typically 1.5 to 2 hours by car. I contacted Dan at Pedalsport and it was clear to me that he knew what he was talking about. In the meantime I took the tandem for a training ride and the chain got into the spokes and broke about 10 of them. I took it to the closest bike shop and they could not fix it. I took it to another shop in Vancouver that has a reputation for working on non-standard bikes and they said the wheel was a write-off. It was an old wheel but it had a Phil Wood 48 spoke hub that seemed worth trying to save. This store wanted to sell me a non-tandem wheel but tandem hubs are really wide so not sure how they were going to make that work. I was going to get Pedalsport to do the drive train work but I was hoping to reduce my trips to Chilliwack but I ended up getting them to do all of the work. They had no trouble fixing the wheel and installing the drive train for a very reasonable price. The old freewheel with a 4 tooth lock ring was seized onto the wheel and broke their tool and they had to cut it off by breaking it up. I am sure that the hours they spent fixing the bike far exceeded what they charged me. This bike store/shop knows it's stuff and will do what is best for the customer without just trying to sell you new stuff you don't need when it is possible to fix what you got if it is good quality and worth fixing. It was worth driving out to Chilliwack a few times and I would recommend them to anyone. read more

Alright so first off this isn't even really a bike shop they sell more scooter parts and scooters, the staff couldn't even put on a chain properly and ruined my rear driver in the process of doing this, and the times to get a quick bike fix are tremendous and take forever, go to jack cycles at least they carry bikes read more
