This is not our problem if we have an appointment at 10:55 we want to be seen at that time. some of the doctors and nurses are good but you need to be ready to spend all day in that place they are always behind they are always late never have after care appointments available and keep you with your baby in the waiting room for 2 hours and then more time inside waiting for a doctor that sometime just go in and out. There have been times when i've taken him in for things i probably didn't need to, and even then they're still so reassuring and supportive. They have been great with sending referrals when needed, responding to messages on the patient portal in a timely manner, and overall just taking care of my son. Find someplace better First visit was great. We loved the nurse practitioner we had for our kid's very first appointment. We read reviews online which made us skeptical, but we dropped the ball on finding a pediatrician and not many places were taking on new patients. We felt good after the first appointment. Over time though, the experiences got worse and worse. We get doctors offices can get backed up, but the last two appointments were made an hour or two after opening, months in advance. For the 6 month appointment, we were there two hours, all the way through. Keep in mind, they have you check in before you get there, but we still ended up waiting in the lobby 30 minutes, with an hour and a half in the back room, with maybe 5-10 minutes of total FaceTime with nurses/doctor with large gaps of waiting in between. The 9 month appointment we walked out. Spent an hour in the back room, only interaction we had was for weight/measurements, which was 15 minutes in. 45 minutes after that, still no doctor. What's the point of making an appointment if you're early, and still haven't been seen an hour in? If we wouldn't have left, we probably would've been back there for another 30-45 minutes total between doctor interactions, waiting for nurse for shots, etc. Speaking of shots, we had an interaction with a nurse in which she kept rolling her eyes in our kid was crying from the shots. We chalked it up to her having a bad day, but how you gonna be rolling your eyes from a normal reaction from a baby, in front of the parents? Find somewhere else. You're a number here. Making an appointment is useless because you'll be waiting an hour and a half each visit for 5 minutes of FaceTime with nurses/doctors. There are times they'll have you zoom someone at a different office, or someone with a green screen while you wait your 20 minutes in a back room. read more

I signed up for pediatric services with them since my sons were still in my belly so over 12 years ago. I was blessed with two amazing pediatricians, neither are at this location (Dr. Silva- retired and Dr. Habet), so Jax Peds is all my kids know. I moved to the town center location due to proximity, newness, and increased waiting room size. The staff has always been nice and courteous and the waiting rooms are always clean. Now, the cons are few but very significant. 1. Every time my kids have appointments we end up waiting for the doctor to come in the room for at least an hour past our appointment time. No one comes in to check in on you, apologize for the wait, offer nourishment, nothing! And the rooms are freezing, they just leave you and your undressed kids waiting, forever! 2. No one will ever call you to follow up or advise that your appointment should be rescheduled. My kids have had several appts for vaccines, we show up just to be told that they are out of whatever vaccine. Why not call your patients so they don't waste valuable work and school time for nothing? I've also called regarding referrals and called back because no one followed up only to be advised that I now needed to bring my kid in. Well, who was going to let me know? read more

I want to start saying I don't usually leave bad reviews but when it is about my kid health thats where I draw the line. Visit the office today as he was having a weird ear discharge. The whole appointment took like 25 mins and that is including check in and check out. We saw Marisa Olsen, she entered the room, ask about symptoms, check ears and chest and that was IT! Didn't even look at his throat to rule out throat infection. I was explaining about his past history even showed her a picture of his ear with the fluid and she said there were not infected, let's mention he also had a fever the night before. When asked about the ear discharge she said, yes thats not normal AND THAT WAS IT! I know it's not normal thats why Im taking him to see someone. She said she would prescribe some ear droops if I wanted, and I asked her to send the prescription. I left so frustrated as I know my kid and know he was feeling unwell. I ended up going to an emergency room , where he was diagnosed with an ear perforation and put on antibiotics orally and on his ear. When at the pharmacy to pick up his antibiotics I noticed the first prescription for ear drops she said she prescribed , it was NEVER even sent to the pharmacy. If I hadn't decide to take him to another place my son would have an ear infection untreated, and no prescription as the only thing she decided to do because I told her she didn't even do it. I lost a full day of work as my appt was scheduled at 8:55 so I could take care of it and back to work, instead I needed to take him to another place. Im sure this place would have no problem billing my insurance and collecting my copay but cant even send a prescription, which luckily I didn't need as I got another one from another provider, so I ended up paying two copays today, which Im okay with because its about my kids health. But Im sure there is a lot of people don't have the time or the money to waste here and their kids being left untreated or misdiagnosed and need to take them to another place. AVOID THIS PLACE! This location is the worst. It doesn't matter if you're on time, early or late be prepared to not get called for your appointment time. It never fails for me when I have to take my kids here. There's no time of day that they run on a decent schedule. Each appointment I spend at least two hours here. Well visit or sick visit, the wait doesn't change. This practice is all about $$$$, my kids have been going here since they were babies. They would not provide a referral for my daughter to see a dermatologist without seeing her. So- this office is extremely busy, plan on hanging out in the lobby for awhile. I picked this office for our kids' regular pediatric services because the hours are pretty good for working parents. They are open later than a lot of the other options. In addition, they are very close to where I live. Mostly my choices regarding this office are centered around convenience. That isn't to say that they don't have good doctors that work here but the pace and volume of the office all but rules out any relationship based care practices, which will probably be more important the older my kids get. Every time I have been here, probably like 5 times over the last almost year, I have only seen the same doctor once. That being said, when my kid is sick and might have RSV (thanks daycare!) when I called to make an appointment I was able to get in without issue the next day..... On the go and need convenient competent service? This is a good office. If you are looking to see the same doctor every time or not be in a busy office where you can go for years but still no one knows you, look elsewhere. For my needs, they fit the bill. read more

Awful! I recommend not going here if you are Military and with Tricare. They want your children to be seen for every referral you need. Even though they have already seen your child a month and half ago. Cancelled my appointment last minute for ADHD due to the Doctor not reviewing the notes for my child and then told me he needs a physical for this ADHD appointment which they did a month and half ago. Don't waste your time, find a group that is willing to help you out if new to the area. They also want to argue with you on everything you are trying to explain to them, and they are not all on the same page. read more

They do not have any empathy for the parents of the child they are seeing. I received a text this morning at 7:45 am telling me I need to update my insurance company with a new PCP. I called the office informing them its impossible for me to contact the insurance company. Being that I still had to get my kids ready for school and fore to make it to work. They ensure me I could still bring my child to the appointment and I could update the insurance company afterwards. Once my husband get to the appointment he's turned away. It's not our fault their doctor stopped working there back on December 1, 2023 and I'm just now finding out about this on March 1, 2024. They can never keep Doctors in network. They are good, I'll give them that much to begin with. But this is where my worry enters the picture. My children first saw Dr. Andrew Sinder, who assisted me with all of my twin's specific needs, including helping to get all of my other children on the appropriate meds. Then, POW! He quit the business, I was informed, and my children needed to be assigned a new doctor because he was no longer in the state. I then changed them to Dr. Zack, and once the kids got used to him, BAM! Dr. Zack departed and relocated to South Beach, according to what I was informed. Okay! We are switching once more, and the kids are now seeing Dr. Ellis. I adored her, the kids adored her, and my two older kids, who are adolescents, see Dr. Habet, who we also like. But here's the kicker: today, as one of my younger kids was due for an appointment, I received a call saying that my younger child needed to be switched to another doctor because Dr. Ellis had left the practice. I never received a letter alerting me or letting me know how to prepare my family. I'm currently seeking for another pediatrician for all the kids. This is unethical on so many levels, and I hardly comprehend the individuals you phone to schedule an appointment. It baffles me. Since the office has expanded, things are getting worse. They now have a centralized referral and call center department that is now located in south Florida. Anytime you call the Jacksonville office it re directs you to the call center which are a bunch of associates working from home in south Florida that don't know anything about the Jacksonville office. I have been with them for 17 years and it has been so sad and painful to watch it change so much. I adore my doctors Urdaneta and Cohen and this review is not for them. It is for the corporate management. Since this practice was bought by Pediatric Associates, the service has declined terribly. You have to wait on the phone at least 30 minutes with a recording to simply talk to someone, either make an appointment or leave a message to your doctor. It is a call center for all their locations so no more direct contact with the office as it used to be. Appointments are saturated, they accepted too many new patients to handle so the urgent same day visits are gone. They sent me to an urgent care clinic last week when I needed to take my daughter to be seen for a foot sprain. Their fist appointment available was 5 days later. And if you are lucky to get an appointment for a well visit months out, you will wait for up to two hours to be seen. It is painful. They overbook the doctors. They used to be so amazing, 24/7 care. In and out within an hour, no phone call wait times to make appointments, personal service, felt like family. They are focusing on making money and loosing their customer service on the way. read more

I am not pleased with this office at all. My son called & made a specific type of appt for my grandson. I am an authorized user on his chart to bring him & handle any medical needs. The appt time he had conflicted with my schedule, so I called back to see if I could reschedule it. Which the lady was very nice & rescheduled it, said that she saw he was also due for his wellness visit. I told her that we would call back to schedule it, she advised that they could do both at the same time, she can add it to this appt. I said well if you can add it & they will do both, that would be great, I asked how much this visit would be as it would be a self pay, she quoted me $132. She stated their were specific forms that needed to be printed out, filled out and brought to the appointment. She helped me navigate their website to get the required paperwork that is needed for the appt, advised me to make sure I brought them to the appt. I get to his appt yesterday to be told that they can NOT do both of these in the same apt. Which ok, I wasn't planning on the wellness check anyways, I only added it because your staff recommended it & said it could be done. I was informed no they could not do the ADHD appt, these appt do not work like that, there is paperwork that is required, in which I gave them my paperwork that was completed as I was told. I was informed that my paperwork was to be dropped off a week prior to my appt because a Dr. has to review it, then a secondary Dr. reviews the 1st Dr.'s diagnosis and makes sure they are in agreement. I informed them that I was not told these forms was to be dropped off a week prior, I was specifically instructed to bring them to my appt. This was the main point for this appt, not a wellness check. I was then informed that once the Dr.'s review then THEY would call me & schedule the appt, and they would NOT do an ADHD appt without his wellness check being up to date, so basically I had to get the wellness check done in order to move forward with getting this child the help he needs. Which I am then told that I was misquoted it was not $132, they don't know where that came from, the appt is $197. In fact the people we talk to on the phone to schedule appts do not even work for the company... they are just a call center. Which honestly is not my concern.. If your company hires an outside call center to handle your calls, and they misquote a fee, most honorable companies will stand behind that quote. Nope. $197 I had to pay for this wellness appt. I also let them know that I just drove an hour an a half to this appt, I do NOT live in Jacksonville, I had to take a half a day off of work, along with this adventure literally is a 4-5 hour day just to handle this. Didn't matter. I was told "Well on a positive note, you wont have to call us back to reschedule his ADHD appt... we will call you". Which as kindly as I could let them know that was the least of my concerns... but what I would have to do is, take off anther half a day from work, lose pay, do another 4-5 hour round trip, when gas is at $5 a gallon... making the appt is the least of that. I was also informed before I left, when I do make the appt, I should make sure I tell them to schedule this appt with a Dr. which I didn't understand at the moment, but was told if they schedule the appt with a PA, they could not handle the ADHD appt, they cant write scripts or anything, and they just don't want to waste my time again. Which I appreciated, but this is not my issue to handle. If there are specific appts that need to be handled by specific Dr.'s then this is a concern the office should be addressing with the scheduling dept, not depending on the client to ensure their appt is scheduling it correctly. My son used to see Dr. Hidalgo-Laos since infancy when she was at South Jax. I now bring him here to Pediatric Associates to see her. (He's 13 now.) She is an amazing pediatrician and I really like how friendly and thorough she is. She really takes her time and gives a lot of focus to her patients. The staff is also friendly here. We have been twice and both times we were helped right away. No sitting around and waiting all day in the waiting room. The office is spacious (my son usually doesn't like to be cramped up with other children, especially when they are noticeably sick. Not a problem here. TV's to keep the kids occupied and the area is clean. The staff that we have interacted with are also very friendly and caring. My son had to have blood drawn this past weekend. The nurse really took her time to make sure that she would make it as quick and painless as possible for him (he was visibly nervous.) I have never seen someone that patient and precise in drawing blood. She took her time and walked him through every step so he was comfortable. I was very impressed. Also they have a section of the incoming forms to list all of the topics you want to go over with the Dr. and they stick to it. Sometimes, you get caught up and forget about issues you want to go over, but they really take the time to make sure you get it all covered. My son has always been a healthy child and usually only visits once a year, so it's nice to get all the bases covered while you're there. I'm more than glad to drive from OP/ Argyle all the way out to Town Center for the fantastic service here. read more

This drs office is truly a nightmare. And it has been for years. We are finally leaving the office and I feel RELIEVED. My oldest daughter is 3.5 and we have had plenty of awful experiences with her previously. and I have a less than a week old newborn son. I took my baby to his first newborn appt today that was at 8:15 (they open at 8) we left without being seen at 9:45 because my husband asked how much longer and the doctor told him they were overbooked and it would be at least 30 more minutes. Who in the heck wants to wait in a room to be seen for 2 hours with a newborn?????? As soon as we were leaving of course the doctor was ready to see us now. We refused and are seeing a different office tomorrow. They are over booked and do not care about patients time. You are just another chart at this office and they don't know you from the next person anyways. Happy to be gone and at a smaller practice who has more genuine care for your kids. read more

I really love my kids Dr but anytime i call it's ALWAYSSSSSSS an issue. I had to cancel my sons appointment a couple months ago and it was impossible to get to speak to someone, finally when i got through, HE PUT ME ON HOLD AGAINNNNNN. After waiting for 35 minutes i finally hung up! After about 2 weeks guess what comes in the mail..... you guessed it.... A "no show" bill for $25.00. I was literally soooooooooo annoyed that they had the nerve to send the bill with no problem, but don't make it easy for you to call and change or cancel an appointment with that same ease. So fast forward to today same thing happens. My sons appointment needs to be cancelled and it's THE SAMEEEEEEEE NONSENSE. I called, after listening to these long prompts i get someone .... He says "oh wait let me transfer you to the right place" I'm on hold for another 15 minutes. I hang up and call back... i press the prompt for "doctors or doctors staff" and i get through in about a second. I tell the lady i would just like to cancel my sons appointment.. she says "sorry this line is for doctors only I'll have to get you back in the queue. I'm sooo annoyed at this point and i kindly tell her I've been calling alllll morning and I'm not getting any assistance ... i just want to cancel the appointment before I'm charged ANOTHER. $25.00. Love the 24/7 nurse's line. Staff at the office is always friendly, upbeat, and extremely competent. Office is modern and decorated very cutely while being spotless and clean. I've seen a total of four doctors from their office for my newborn, and they were all FANTASTIC. They also text me/call me when my son's RX is ready. Dr Kenneth Cohen is so warm and approachable. I literally only visit this office because of him. Definitely not the lab tech who told me a screening she had to perform "typically means there's something wrong" with my baby, was super rude on the phone AND in person, and seemed very inexperienced in regards to the state blood test (where she had to repeatedly prick my child's foot, of which she has a scar). Definitely not Bc of her. Dr. Kenneth Cohen helped relieve my daughters reflux issues when breast feeding did not work out and I had to switch to formula. He's been very personable and a wonderful guide to me, as I'm a new mom. I've read reviews about front end staff issues... I've never had any problems on that end, so I'm my opinion, they're performing optimally. But again, Dr. Cohen.... Doctoring is like an art form, that you have truly mastered:) read more

I've been attending pedantic associates since I was born, I was born and raised in south Florida so the Boynton Beach pediatric associates was my primary care doctor. When I turned 18, I moved to Jacksonville to start college. As I currently have been waiting for over 45 mins to have a doctor look at my ankle injury, I have noticed that the facility does have a language barrier. Also as I was getting my temperature and heart rate taken I couldn't help but feel like the nurse was uncomfortable with me and being kinda homophobic.
