I can't say enough positive things about this practice. I was trying to find a new dentist once we moved to the Franklin area and I read so many nice things about Dr. Buzz and his office online. They lived up to every single bit of it! "Well that was a great experience!" - my 8 year old son as we left our first visit with Dr. Buzz and his staff. Wow. We have never had such a fantastic experience at the dentist before. From start to finish, scheduling to walking out the door, the kindness and care for patients is remarkable. We were blown away by the entire spirit of that office. Today we saw Anna and Dr. Buzz for my kids first visits at the practice. This was my daughter's first-ever visit and she has asked to go back because it was so fun and she felt so special. My son was nervous about the appointment but left with a big smile on his face. He said he can't believe we found the most perfect dentist. The office is fun, clean, and I was able to sit with my kids during their appointments. They worked with our schedule to make it possible to see my kids back-to-back, even though there weren't any time slots available when I first scheduled the visits. They had some things move around and called me back to get the kids appointments together. The sweet personality and the kid-friendly terminology used was very much appreciated. I appreciate his approach to caring for our kids' teeth and I have confidence in his work. It is a very welcoming place to bring your children and it's very clear that Dr. Buzz and the entire staff greatly values their patients and families. I would highly recommend this practice to anyone looking for a dentist for your children. read more

The team was great, which unfortunately lead me to trusting them. I should have taken more time to research which is entirely my fault. I went to two different dentists before them regarding dental work my son needed done. I was quoted 2300 before any insurance. When I showed them this paperwork they scoffed at the cost and how much it would be and verbally told me they couldn't imagine how a filling would be that much. They told me they accepted United Healthcare and they verified my insurance on my first visit. (We had four total over a month long). Turns out they just verified that I had insurance not any of the benefits. I was told today "We do accept United Healthcare just not all plans". Had they been more honest and upfront about the situation I wouldn't be so upset and might consider going back. I would have even went back as a cash pay patient because I liked them so much with my son. United Healthcare wound up denying the entire bill of $2200, and they are telling us there is nothing that I can do on either end. Dr. Buzz's office DOES NOT offer any cash prices if they are expecting you to pay the full price. Which is the first dentist I have ever been to that does not. They also do not offer any payment plan regardless of situation. I had 16 fillings redone in my own mouth through another dentist and I paid less than what they are charging me for the 6 my son had done. I am currently in the processes of appealing it with my insurance to try to get it covered but the dental office itself will not do anything. It is a shame considering the staff was fantastic up until this point. This is one of the better pediatric dental facilities that I have ever been too. And I will never return because of the billing itself. I was also told today they cannot verify the benefits because United Healthcare changed their policies and does not allow providers to speak to them what so ever. I personally work with United Healthcare and happen to know that is not true. I also got verification from United Healthcare that that is not true. They have an entire Provider Service side for the providers. Update: They will also respond to you and tell you that they encouraged you to check your own benefits and to call them because they can't. This never happened and I was told they did verify my benefits. However today I was told they verified that I had insurance and that's all they check. read more

Absolutely amazing my daughter unknowingly to us had a few cavities and I was concerned of her feeling any pain or discomfort...I know I'm as an adult am still traumatized from my dental work while in military & adolescence to the point where I demand gas or whatever they have to feel NOTHING!! Dr. Buzz has been seeing our boys for almost a decade now. We've never had anything short of a great experience. Excellent facility. Incredibly personable dental staff, and that's been consistent every time I've been the one to take them for a visit. Once we had a billing issue with our insurance plan, and it took months to resolve. They were super helpful and very patient to help us navigate the business end of it. Dr. Buzz and his staff forever take time and explain their dental recommendations on what's next for our sons. I'm always impressed at how well they interact with our boys. Specific questions about school, sports, etc. And they are quite kid friendly in the small things. They have a Wii and other items as such that make the visit move along if you have multiple kids that are being seen in one visit. No business or practice is perfect. I try and measure it over time, and time has proven to be consistently solid in terms of how well they treat our family. read more

We had an absolutely horrific experience at this dental practice. What should have been a routine procedure on my daughters tooth, turned into a traumatizing experience. Neither the dentist nor the hygienist took the necessary precautions to prevent an adverse reaction to the procedure despite knowing the product being used could severely stain skin, which is exactly what happened to the outside of my daughters entire mouth and cheek. I requested to speak to the dentist after this occurred but could not get him to call me back but instead spoke to the admin at the front desk and was told that their cameras were checked, they did nothing wrong and it must have been something my daughter did to cause the result. Oh and that it could take up to 3 weeks for the stain to fade. 3 weeks!!! Try explaining to a 6 year old that the dentist who you promised wouldn't hurt her, made a giant mistake. After showing up at the practice later that day to confront him, not only did he raise his voice at me, he kept looking at his watch and saying "this conversation isn't going anywhere." His staff was extremely rude and condescending telling me "I have kids, things happen" There was no apology and zero accountability. After speaking with several other parents regarding our experience, I realized we weren't the only ones who had a terrible encounter with them, it was one horror story after the other. I have already reported Dr. Buzz and his practice to the state board and interestingly enough, they are not apart of the BBB. Very telling. RUN do not walk away from this place, they do not care about your children. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Also, I'm sure someone from their staff will reply with a copy and paste response about how Dr. Buzz is a professional of over 30 years and they know they can't please everyone, blah blah blah. We took our 13 month old daughter to Pediatric Dental Care for her first dental cleaning ever. All I can say is WOW!!! My husband and I were beyond impressed from the second we stepped in the door until the moment we left!! We were greeted immediately by Melissa with a smiling face and friendly voice. We will be transferring to this practice! My 8 year old started complaining of a toothache. I called our (then current)!dental practice to find that their first available 'emergency visit' was not for 10 days!!! Really? 10 days for a kid in pain? My friend recommended Dr. Buzz' practice. I called on Thursday and they got me in the next Monday morning. Dr Buzz, Dr Barnes, and all of their staff were wonderful. I loved the way that the 2 dentists and April, the hygienist, worked together and discussed what was going on with the tooth. They were so great with my daughter throughout the whole process, letting her explain what is wrong, giving lots of encouragement and comforting words while she was getting the work done. They were able to fix it the same day. (The old dental practice told me they would not be able to treat the same day due to 'insurance rules'). We were all done in about 75 minutes total! We were referred by family dentistry for cavities. I spoke with scheduling at length about the plan and that we needed visit for evaluation and procedure due to time out of school. She advised 10am availability allowed time for this, verse the 1pm. Upon arrival they asked us to be there at 9:30am, the appt was at 10. We did not get called back until 10:45am. My son was anxious pending filling and had already vomited from a sorry that am. Once we were called back there was no apology for the wait after we watched 5 families with multiple kids come and go. (We were not a work in). There was a big to do that our dentist had only sent 1 image, but apparently they were having issues with Their email system. In the interim I told them the cavities of concern, Dr.Buzz (who was nice enough) made small talk. However during this time I could tell he wasn't actually paying attention to what I said. Subjectively it was borderline insulting, asking what "mommy did with her free time". When I said I was a working mom of 3 and didn't have free time. 5 seconds later he asked "when are you going to start working on baby #2?". When I again clarified I already had 3 kids, he acted surprised and offhandedly said "they must be older". Which again I clarified they were actually a baby and toddler. After that odd conversation, the images were available, he said, "Yep I'll do 2, no sedation... schedule it". I informed them what I was told and then told, no they would not be doing procedure at this time. This is now 2.5 hours since arrival. They escorted me to the front for excuse. After involving the office mgr is was made clear that we would not be billed for the visit as we were not told the truth, and I would not even qualify a billable exam! So for this reason I didn't give 1 Star. HOWEVER: there was a very apathetic attitude towards my son and me. There was no apology for the time wasted. I understand the left hand might not talk to the right sometimes and the front desk might have told wrong information, but the hygienist borderline attitude, the lack of paying attention and listening to me and my son do not warrant a recommendation. I may be 1 of 50 patients that feel this way, but since I have called 3 pediatric dentists recommended through word of mouth and already had a MUcH better response who can guarantee my son with have assessment and procedure same time. As a mother of 3 working I don't have time to check my son out of school constantly and schedule multiple appts! And anyone that deals with kids should understand and be willing to work with this. Dr. Buzz is AMAZING!! He was my pediatric dentist when I was a child and now I trust him with my two young sons. Unfortunately, we had to see him too often for an accident that broke my 4 year olds front tooth. It was a bad break that required multiple visits and procedures. The experience should've left my 4 year old in fear of the dentist for the rest of his life. Instead, today he bounced right in without fear - but with true excitement - to get his teeth cleaned. He is usually timid and fearful but he was waving to Dr. Buzz and happy to see Rhonda, April, and Cassie! The entire team is so wonderful! They are happy and joyful and my boys left happy. Everyone was so great with my 6 year old and 3 year old. Autumn and Mariah did a great job with my little ones and Mariah was awesome explaining to my 3 year old each step as she did her cleaning in kiddy terms. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES. My wife called to make appointments for our two kids. They took our insurance information over the phone. We went to the appointments were upsold panoramic x-rays then while in the middle of their cleanings was asked to step into the office where I was told we were out of network. I asked why we were not told this before we came to the appointments. We were told they don"t run insurance until the visit. Very bad business practices. I have read other posts where they have done the same thing. Also we were pressured into making appointments for fillings. We told them we were moving. Also we specifically signed to NOT HAVE OUR KIDS POSTED ON SOCIAL MEDIA. They were posted anyway. We called them and they said "oops you did sign it". They were up there a week until finally taken down. Now we have a bill after insurance paying their part our bill is $500 for cleaning and x-rays only!!!! I think not. read more

This place is awesome. I took in both my girls at once (1-3.5yo and 1-1yo). I was amazed that they took me in same day and same time so I could get both kids done at once. That's epic in healthcare!! The waiting room has tons of toys and things to keep busy, the staff were friendly and very kid oriented. They managed to actually do a full cleaning, Polish and fluoride treatment on my 3 yo in just under 15 min. And the first time going, they each got a great teddy bear. BAD BUSINESS PRACTICES - They have no problem telling you things will be covered by your insurance, and then sending you a bill when they are wrong! I took my kids for appointments here after moving to TN. As the kids walked in to be looked at, the hygienist said my oldest child was due for a panoramic x ray. I asked her if they had received the records from our old dentist, and she confirmed they had, but that he was due for a new panoramic. I then asked if it would be covered by our insurance, and she said it would. Now, months after the appointment, they are billing me $95 for the x ray. Sure enough, my insurance denied the claim for the x ray because enough time had not lapsed since the last one. When I called the office, their response was, "the hygienist wouldn't have told you that it was covered, we wouldn't know that..." Well, she did! And if I had known they weren't sure if it would be covered, I would have called the insurance company myself to find out. BEWARE! read more

We were there this morning and Jenn, the hygienist, was incredible. My son had some reservations about the new (to him) X Ray machine but she put him at ease, saying it was a robot and he loved it. This review is long but so important: First visit was fine- our daughter was happy, but had 2 cavities that needed attention. Instead of providing a few courses of action to choose from, the practice immediately pressured us to make an appointment for fillings which included Nitrous and a sedative cocktail. I was very concerned about the sedative because they wrote a prescription to us for a morphine cocktail. Our 4 year old had never taken hard antibiotics, much less something as strong as morphine. Terrified doesn't seem to accurately describe what I was feeling. I called the office and was assured it is common practice, and that she'd be monitored the entire time. We were responsible for the payment of the prescription- keep that in mind as you read on. I carry a popular dental insurance that is widely accepted. When we arrived, we were taken to the back where my child's medication was to be administered. I handed over the prescription and waited patiently as a tech fumbled with a pulse monitor. They forged my child's heart rate, by shaking the finger clamp while the dentist (Dr Buzz) made rounds in what should have been a sterile space eating an Einstein Bros bagel and flirting with his assistants, he then commented on how "pretty" my child was and then disappeared into his office. I have no idea of the medical qualifications of the techs administering my child's medication as I could not find one single certificate on the wall of the space in which the medication was administered. We were then placed out in the waiting room WITH NO SUPERVISION while my daughter was under the influence of a morphine cocktail that she had never been previously exposed to. Please know that this practice is NOT a top tier with ANY dental insurance (I've called them now.) This means, as I obviously didn't know beforehand, that you will pay more at this practice with your insurance (whatever that carrier may be) than at a higher tier facility. I strongly encourage you contact your insurance company and ask about this specifically. Additionally, we were billed an obscene amount for the sedation that we had already paid for- just for them to administer it; which in our case, meant handing something I already had in my possession to our child to take. Had I known then what I know now, I would have never stepped foot here. I was quoted over the phone for our child's service and then billed MONTHS later for another one hundred dollars for service. I'm thanking stars that I have Casey, the 'Business Assistant' on recording during the second conversation stating that she was the person that quoted us originally and for what amount. My insurance company later assured me that the practice was well aware of our coverage and what was truly expected to be paid. This dentistry is not forthcoming about procedure or cost. I hope their fraudulent behavior keeps them up at night while thinking about the absolute honor it is to have a child entrusted to them. What sad souls to be feeding off of scared parents trying to do the right thing. Shame on you, Dr. Alexander. Update 08/17: Received a call from Jill, a representative for Dr. Alexander stating that my balance was no "really very much" and asking me to take down my review. Parents, beware. Have learned that this business is not a part of BBB- very telling.
