My daughter comes here for cleaning. She had an appointment on Saturday around 9 am. They took her in around 8:45 am. My daughter still wears her mask inside upon entering but the lady at the front desk said you don't need them. Better safe than sorry. It was fairly quick. Hubby went with my daughter to the entrance while I waited in the car. I have been there before and location is clean and the ladies at the front were nice and explained everything. My daughter told me she has no cavities which is good but she needs to brush her teeth more. Highly recommend this location since it's close by where we live. read more

Been coming here for years. My sons' dentist is Dr. Tamura. Friendly dentist and knows his way around kids, which I appreciate. My 1 year old had an accident and prematurely lost his tooth. I called them and asked if they could see my son just to make sure that everything is okay. They told me to come right away, and that made me feel so happy. We drove to the clinic and got seen within 5 minutes. I forgot the name of the dentist but she was lovely with my son as well. She made sure to calm him down while inspecting his gums. I like that the clinic has a huge aquarium cause my son always looks forward to see the fishies on their visit. And the staff are all very nice, always have a smile on their faces, and makes sure to explain each and every charge on the bill, and thoroughly explains every procedure. Downside? You can never get the appointment you want, for the month you need it, and the time you're available. They're always so busy and packed! But that's okay! Good thing my schedule is pretty flexible. read more

This review is long overdue & I'm glad I didn't jump the gun and review it when I was irritated with the situation. The dental assistants at our initial appointment were great, but I left our appointment feeling uncomfortable after our visit with the dentist. I ended up switching my kids to my family dentist. Well during one of those check ups our family dentist referred one of my children back to this office. I figured I'd call, wrong idea! I was placed on hold multiple times as the front desk communicated with the dentist. They asked if we were going to return and I simply stated no, we would only be there for that referred appointment, so I was on hold again as they tried to make a decision. I ended up hanging up and notifying our family dentist of what occurred. We got a referral to a different practice downtown and we're so glad we went with that referral instead! That office didn't mind that we brought our children to our family dentist and only came to theirs if we had a referral (which was only twice over the three year period); they were so accommodating to the situation and treated my daughter as if she were one of their regulars. I understand an office would love to be the ones to provide full care, but it would have been nice if they weren't petty about the whole situation. Obviously our family dentist referred to their office for other patients, otherwise they wouldn't be an option. We moved back home from Kansas leaving behind an amazing pediatric dentist and now we moved off the island and to California and are back with another amazing pediatric dentist, so I understand the importance and differences between the care of a pediatric dentist and family/general dentist. I went with my gut in this situation and I believe I made the best decision. I will say I have a friend that has great reviews of this particular dentist, so take into consideration that it was just merely my experience. read more

My child has been seeing Dr. Sato for the past 2 years, and I am very impressed with his knowledge, professionalism and excellent communication skills. I also would like to commend Jo-Ann for her diligent work, kindness, patience and understanding. I very much appreciate how Jo-Ann took the time to (1) talk with my child and me regarding gag reflexes and (2) take my child's dental x-rays & talk my child through the x-ray process due to my child's tendency to gag, especially when taking x-rays. Dr. Tamura and his assistants are awesome! Kid-Friendly: you're probably thinking "obviously... it's a pediatric dental office".. but not everyone who works in a pediatric office is good with kids! We have not had a negative experience with anyone in the office. They are excellent with talking to the kids about what all the tools are ("mr thirsty" is my favorite), and what they're going to do, making sure that the child is comfortable with them. The office itself is very appealing to the kids! the waiting area has a big salt water tank, of course with "nemo, marlin & dory". they have a TV going that is always playing the Disney Station. When kids are taken in, they have a "waiting area" as well (not sure what theyre waiting for, my son never had to wait there) that is decorated as a Trolls theme. Thoughtful-- my son had on his soccer jersey and they asked if he had a game after. I said he does, and they made sure to make note of it so we could get to the game on time :] Professional--after the appointment, they walk you to the payment window, and make sure the sweet lady there has the right invoice. Everyone we walk by passes you with a smile and "hi". And its convenient that they send "heads up" emails when my sons appointment is coming up, and you can also confirm the appointment via the email! read more

For those past 10 years service has been consistent, excellent, and professional. Every visit runs smoothly. You check in, get your teeth cleaned, see your dentist for any concern, schedule your next appointment, pay your bill and your out the door. They're up to date with technology so you'll get a reminder through text and email. My children sees Dr. Teruya and he treats all of us with respect. He's good with my children so I'm sure he's good with all children. I also love the clean and spacious waiting area. There's 3 TV that keeps all humans busy along with magazines. not even a 1 star but i needed to select a star to post a review!!! to say i am beyond livid is an understatement! the most unprofessional dentist office i have ever come into contact with! on august 24, i applied for a "dental front office receptionist (full time)" position for pedodontic associates inc. pearlridge on indeed. august 27, i received an email (as shown) communicating with the manager, cheryl chu, in regards to setting up/confirming an interview time. as you can see, i was highly interested in this position and made sure i was in close contact with the employer. we both agreed that the interview would be: 08/31/2020 @ 09:45am! today, august 31, 2020- i woke up very early to prepare myself for this interview! i have a 5 month old baby boy and an other half who was able to request a later start time with his job, come with me to my interview. (mind you- we only have one car with an ac compressor that is under repair- which means we have no cool air blowing out of our ac.) we arrive at the dentist office at about 09:15am this morning (30 minutes before my interview time!). due to covid they have all patients call when they arrive and wait in their vehicles til the doctor is ready to see them. 09:17am- i call the office and am assisted by a receptionist named jamie. she kindly tells me, "okay dezha, i'll let cheryl know you're here." she goes over the covid process, tells me to wait in my vehicle til she calls. (and we do as follows.) over half an hour later- 47 minutes later to be exact! i still receive no word! not even a courtesy call to let me know that cheryl chu is still with a client. nothing! my other half had to take my son out of our car, strip him of his clothes and walk with him outside because he was fussy and sweating! 10:04am- i call them (they didnt not call me! i called them) and of course, jamie answers! i ask her if anyone tried to call me within the past 47 minutes of my wait time. she asks me "oh, did you have a miss call?" i said no. i've been waiting and i'm following up! she said "oh.. sorry.. i forgot to mention cheryl has multiple interviews going on right now." are you serious? so why do you schedule an interview @9:45 knowing damn well its overlapping your schedule and/or did you not think to give a courtesy call and inform me earlier? desmond, baby and i waited til 10:20am and that's when i lost my sh*t. a car pulls up & a female dressed "interview ready" walks in right pass us!!! can you imagine how pissed off i was that i waited about an hour, with no courtesy call, with my poor 5 month old crying, just to be bypassed by another "interviewee"???? i couldn't stand seeing my son like this any longer so we went home!! 10:45am- *still no call* i call the office again, jamie answers and i ask to speak to a manager. she puts me on hold..... 10:47/50am- i call the office again, this time she does not say her name. she asks what do i want, i ask to speak to a manager. so she transfers me again. finally cheryl answers, with a giggly voice. she asks for my info & i immediately go off- i tell her its damn well over an hour almost 2 hours- and as im going off she tells me "jamie didnt let me know!" i just dont understand!! obviously cheryl, you need to recheck your whole entire "reception" team!!! i know covid is kicking everyone in the a*s rn and there are rules to abide by but you do not do this to someone!!!!! i will not bend over backwards for a damn company who cant even comply with a scheduled interview time!! idc if im in need of a damn job! i damn well almost threw a damn rock and shattered their damn windows!! this is very unprofessional and i will not put my sons life on the line for an ungrateful ass company/employer who disrespects my time!!!! if you tell me 9:45 im loyal to that time! i damn well waited over 2 hours!! fkn ridiculous!! read more

But when it came to the doctor she wasn't friendly, or hospitable. The opposite of what we strive for in healthcare. When working with peoples children you would think to be a bit more personable. Dr. Kobayashi and the staff at Pedodontic Associates are amazing! They have a child-friendly and family oriented practice that take the time to explain dental development, concerns and hygiene improvement suggestions for home. My children are not afraid of the dentist and actually enjoy coming! From ipads during teeth "fixing" to rewards and friendly staff, my children feel safe, cared for, and comfortable while maintaining and improving their dental care. Every time I have brought my kids here I am always amazed at how fast and efficient the staff and dentist are. They are seen on time and all three are usually done with cleanings and exams within an hour. When they have had to get work done that too is done fast and with great attention to my kids fears so that they feel at ease. We have the only female dentist there and we love her. I like how she talks to the kids and makes everything not so scary. I wish I had a pediatric dentist like Dr. Kobayashi when I was growing up. read more

Dr. Kobayashi is the best! My son is only two so he has only been to the dentist a couple times now but it's so nice to meet a wonderful and friendly dentist like Dr. Kobayashi. She puts my son at ease and makes him enjoy his visits. The waiting room is always clean and there is a huge fish tank to calm the little ones before their appointment. My son has been here in a great mood and in a horrible mood and every time Dr. Kobayashi works her magic to get her exam done while not making me feel rushed. My last appt was aug 7th. It was my daughter's first time but my son's second. His first was because we are referred this place after my cracked his molar while eating popcorn. My son has aspergers so can be overly sensitive & crazy chatty .... .Lol. Wiggly. They were very calm & not frustrated with him. Even let him talk & not doing the typical eye roll when a child patient talks to much :*} They ladies (lady doc & nurses) were wonderful with both my children. We were in & out but also not rushed. or talked into more work then needed like we were at Pearl Family Dental Care on valkenburgh st. This place is VERY clean.... Unlike our last place. The lady doc talked to me like a mom & not a paying customer/patients. Very down to earth. :*} & didn't use big impressive word - she made sure I knew & understood everything she was doing to the kids. I HIGHLY recommend you taking your kids there. I haven't been to a dentist since being on island the last three yrs but I actually asked us they took adult..... Dr Tamura is awesome. All the staff that we've ever encountered are just as nice. My daughter has seen him since she was 18 months old and she is now 5. He has a kind, nurturing demeanor that reminds me of a preschool teacher. He explains things to my daughter at a level she would understand. They allow parents in the back with their patients. Their waiting areas are clean and fun for the kids. Our most recent visit was to fill cavities. It was a morning visit and at around 5 pm, Dr Tamura called to check on her to see how she was doing. My daughter is about 2.5 years old and was looooooong overdue for a dental appointment. I was pretty nervous to see how she'd act with Dr. Kobayashi, but it went great! My daughter loved her and the dental assistant. There wasn't any fussing or fighting. Whew. Smooth sailing. She brushed my daughter's teeth, flossed and then gave her a toy. Happy daughter, happy mommy, awesome dentist. We checked in about a 1/2 hour early and got called in to our appointment about 15 minutes later. From the small communications over the phone with the front staff to entering the door on our visit today all the staff involved were great as can be. Dr Kobayashi and Rochelle took the time to explain some educational information. My daughter got to play with their dental equipment so she would be familiarized with them and not afraid. Their decor in this office was very welcoming and of course cartoons were playing in the exam room. I'm so impressed with our new doctor and staff because they have shown me how pediatric dentistry should be as we had nightmare experiences in the past at another office nearby. Ample and free parking, centrally located at the top of Pearlridge. Play area in the waiting room, lots of magazines, lots of room, and multiple flat screen TVs on kid-friendly programming. Even a fish tank with Nemo and Dory look alikes in front. Plus the office decorates like a Broadway play every Halloween! Accepts insurance and is very knowledgeable and on point about processing insurance--no worries! Accepts credit cards. Reasonable costs even without insurance. Always concerned about making sure medications and any other medical issues are known and addressed. Special needs child friendly, family-friendly, and a pleasure to work with. Emailed appointment reminders and text appointment reminders help keep us on track, although they still offer hard copies too! Proactive in addressing growing children's mouths and tooth structures, works well with other providers, and communicates clearly, professionally, and continually with parents. Never intrusive, always supportive, and always concerned about what is best medically for our kids. And did I mention that they have an iPad with commercial-free kid's Netflix adjustable-mounted above the chair (BUT if your family doesn't do screentime, it's thoughtfully on a swivel-arm so it can be discreetly tucked away out of sight)? Yes, your kiddo can watch parent-approved Lego Ninjago/My Little Pony/Veggie Tales/whatever you ok, while having dental work or a tooth cleaning--wow! They were able to fit my son in despite not having an appointment. They advised me ahead of time that there might be a long waiting time since he was a walk in. Surprisingly it was not a long wait at all. The communication between the staff and parents are excellent. They will explain what is going on, what our options are along with the pros and cons, and will work with you financially. I'm sure taking a child to the dentist is a challenge for any parent but this place sure makes it a little easier. My daughter was 20 months at the time of her first visit. Although she was fine in the large reception area, she started screaming when we brought her back into the exam area. The screaming didn't stop the entire visit - a good 20 minutes. The assistant who was with us in the exam room ( I forgot her name) was extremely patient and didn't give me any dirty looks for not being able to get my child under control. She tried to put my child at ease by bestowing gifts ( a toothbrush and a rubber duck) and speaking to her in a soothing voice. In walked Dr. Michelle Kobayashi and she is awesome! She was extremely friendly, patient, and most importantly for me, informative. She gave me specific instructions on snacking and brushing and when I told her my daughter is scared to death of rubber gloves she immediately pulled her gloves off. I would give this place 5 stars but their front reception could be a bit friendlier. With that said, there was another person in the rear part of reception who books your child's next appointment on the way out who was great. I think we made a GREAT choice with Dr. Kobayashi and her staff! read more

My daughter absolutely loves going to the dentist here. My oldest had an absolutely bad experience at another dentist (they strapped her down at 2 years old for a cleaning). He was the best in calming him down and was able to complete the procedure. He even called me in the afternoon to check on my son. Excellent client service!! It all started with a phone call to make a first appointment for my 11 month old son. I spoke with Summer who was extremely helpful and patient with me. She had such great phone etiquette and was very personable. Upon taking my son into the office we were greeted with a warm welcome from the staff and again Summer assisted me. Dr. Sato examined my son, he was very informative. We felt so happy and were treated so well it was beyond my expectation for a dentist office. If you love being informed, explanations of each exam, friendly staff from the front reception to the Dentist and their staff then this is the place to bring your children. We see Dr. Moriguchi. I have three children ranging from pre adult, teen and a toddler. All have had their share of work done on their teeth and I cannot express how much they love this place. You would think, especially for my little one that they wouldn't like going to the Dentist after getting work done, but the staff and Dr. Moriguchi make sure your child is comfortable and their experience is pleasant. They have so much patience and make each visit enjoyable. As soon as you enter your greeted by the friendly efficient front staff. They make sure your information is current and if you have any concerns. The office is clean and their is so much for your child to keep occupied from checking out the fish tank, playing in the toddler area or simply watching some tv. When your child gets called in the back there's another area for them to hang out which is also clean by the way. After their cleaning from the great staff in the back the Dr. Calls you in the back to explain in detail about your child's visit. If you have any concerns they address them. They have so much patience. My kids love Dr. Moriguchi. My little one gets excited when we pull up in front. He enjoys his visits and Dr. Morguchi. We love the staff and you will too. read more

We love it here! We are always welcomed by friendly receptionists and a cheerfully decorated office. I always schedule my 8 year old's exams for him to be seen without me. He is treated so well, he is given explanations of why he should brush better, to include his gums. After, I meet with Dr. K, as she has already talked with him. Had one visit there and waited for close to 2 hours for my daughter to get her semi annual cleaning. Granted, it was a Saturday but I am a real stickler for time and I'm patient enough to wait for a 30 minute lag time. Anything after that I start to get bothered. So I'll give it 3 stars for now because the experience wasn't excellent nor horrible. The perk is that their technology and competent staff clearly exceeds my previous dental care provider. read more

We have been taking our son here since he turned 1 (he is now 5 yrs old), we were really happy with everything until last month. My son needs some work done and when trying to schedule an appointment I asked them for a Monday and the girl looked up some dates and said, "Oh we don't have anything until late November??? (May I remind you it was only the beginning of September when trying to schedule) I said nothing, you have nothing until then, I will take anything. She again stated they did not. She did mention that a Dentist in the practice had recently passed away so the other Dentists were trying to fit those patients in as well. My son needed 3 visits total to complete the work they recommended and I told the girl at that rate it wont be until at least end of April/May of 2016 to finish. She didn't seem fazed and looked at me with a blank stare. I was upset and told her I would be looking for a new dentist, as much as I like Dr. Teruya waiting 6 months to complete 3 visits was outrageous. I left that day and found another dental practice specializing in children and they were able to get me an appointment the next week. We just left his new dentist and they were GREAT! We will be able to do all my sons work in 1 possibly 2 visits and they don't put a child in a straight jacket like Pedodontic Associates policy. Beware parents! read more

My daughter was referred here by our family dentist. I'm just glad that somebody can see her. She has the temper of the Incredible Hulk. Not even mommy can mess with the little green guy! I like that their waiting area is really spacious without tables for kids to run into. I wish we could set up our living room like this. Basically, after checking in at the front desk you wait until they call you. Then hand your kid off to a friendly staff member who will whisk them away to the dentist! You don't even have to set foot in the treatment room! The odd thing: the receptionist asked us if we wanted to go shopping at the mall. Excuse me? People actually do that? Thanks, but no thanks. I don't mind waiting in the waiting room for hours. I just will not leave the premises knowing that my kid is at the dentist. Plus I could go shopping forever and forget to pick up my kid! read more
