I've been bringing my daughter to Dr. Seo since she was 1 years old. She's now 8 years old. My daughter is a pretty good patient but having 8+ cavities fixed within months apart was rough. Although, she said it was the worst thing that happened to her (she swears she won't eat any candy, lol) she said Dr. Paul was really nice, explained every step and was very friendly. After the appt, Dr. Seo always comes out to talk to me to let me know how it went and if anything new needs to be done. Very personable and smiley, great for kids. Most kids hate going to the dentist but my daughter is never scared when I tell her we have an appt. with Dr.Paul, which is a good sign if you ask me. My daughter wanted me to add that she really likes Dr. Paul and he is nice. Plus she loves the treat at the end. Shirley and the rest of his staff are professional and really nice, too. The office is clean and has easy parking. It's located in the same building as the Vet clinic and across of cattle company in Waimalu. They have Saturday appts, Yay! I did see that someone wrote about the "scary book" about the different restraints that Dr. Seo may use. Just wanted to say that Dr. Seo has never used any of those things on her. And if you think about it, parents do create more anxiety if they were in the room and the restraints are only for the protection of the child and at least you know about it upfront versus after the appointment. I've been going to Dr. Seo for regular check ups for 16 years since I've been 4-years-old. I've stayed with them ever since they've had their office in Pearl Harbor years ago. And yes, I know most my age wouldn't be with their pediatric dentist for this long but I've never found a reason to change dentists. These professionals exert kindness, respect, and attentiveness every time I set foot in the office. I love that they converse with me in a way that it not only patient-friendly but also family friendly! Dr. Seo has always been very personable. My younger self was known to be quite timid, and Dr. Seo and Shirley always reminded me of those times. But they've said that that isn't the case now! I think I've grown a connection with them for so long that being with them is very natural and comforting so making conversation is always with an ease. My son has been seeing Dr. Seo since he was 1! We absolutely love the entire office. They treat us(most importantly my son) like we are part of their family. They are super easy to find in Waimalu next to the VCA pet hospital, across of Cattle Company. Parking is free(yes!) without the hassle of a ticketing system. Making appointments are easy, I've never had any problems with getting a date and/or time. Everyone is professional and courteous! My son who is 3 now will go in(without me) and comes out smiling! I've been bringing my kids to Dr. Paul for about 10 years now. He is great with kids and very prompt; we've NEVER had to wait for our appointment. Just recently I almost started to look for another pediatric dentist because my 3 year old had a couple of cavities she needed to get filled. I was told that I wouldn't be able to go in with her due to the COVID-19 rules but since my 13 year old son is a patient he can go with her. This made no sense to me because we would all have the same germs. A few days before her appointment I called and asked if they would reconsider letting me go in with her because I didn't want her to be traumatized by this experience. She was previously hospitalized for a month and was getting blood drawn everyday and that experience really traumatized her so I was really nervous about her having to get her cavities filled. I told them if not I would take her elsewhere. The young man who answered the phone let me know that it wasn't Dr. Paul's rule that parents couldn't go in with their child but the new Covid-19 guidelines that they have to follow and that I could look for another dentist however, all offices are provided with the same guidelines to follow. He gave me a few options including one where if she won't sit still they could put a gel on the cavity that prevents it from spreading. This could buy some time til the guidelines eased up and parents are allowed to go in. This sounded reasonable and the young man reassured me that Dr. Paul would try his best to make her feel comfortable. He also mentioned that they do not use laughing gas or sedation because Dr. Paul believes in behavior management and talking to children and letting them know exactly what's going in to make them feel safe and comfortable. Every day till her appointment we talked about her getting the "buggies" cleaned out of her teeth. We talked about getting a shot in her mouth and that she'd have to be a brave little girl because mommy can't go in with her. She was scared at first but by the day of her appointment she was determined to be brave. My son went in with her and I sat in the waiting room pretending to do stuff on my phone but really the entire time I was straining my ears listening for her screams. I was so nervous that she'd have a hard time and be traumatized again which would probably bring back memories of her hospitalization. I don't even know how long it took but it felt like forever before the door opened and she came strolling out with a big smile on her face because of the toy she received. Dr. Paul sat down and explained what happened (which is what he always does after every appointment) and said she did great. She didn't fuss or cry or give him a hard time. I was shocked and relieved and almost didn't believe him lol. But my son confirmed later that she sat very nicely and didn't cry or anything. I just ran into a friend and asked about her kids' dentist. She said she recently took them and was able to go in with her 2 year old daughter. At first I was a little upset that Dr. Paul wouldn't be lenient like others but now I realize that following guidelines isn't a bad thing; it's in the best interest of his employees and other patients. I'm super grateful my daughter had a good experience with Dr. Paul and I'm glad I didn't look for another dentist! read more

This doctor is a total quack! The waiting room was a ghost town and no wonder....Their "standard policies" include: -Taking the children in the back NO PARENTS ALLOWED -Restraining the children -Inserting piece that hold their mouth open -Sedation -"Hand over mouth" which is where the Doctor hold his hand over the restrained child's mouth until he/she calms down. Don't believe me?.. it's all in their "policies" binder that they give you while you sign your paperwork -complete with creepy pictures. Now, I thought surely this is for extreme cases only. Because I questioned it, the doctor came out to talk me into it. He reaffirmed that this is how they treat ALL PATIENTS. Under no circumstances would I ever allow a stranger to restrain and drug my child especially when I'm not allowed to be present!!!!! I honestly wouldn't believe it if I hadn't seen/experienced it myself. Something isn't right with this guy. Don't waste your time! read more

I take my grandson to Dr. Paul for his dental visits every 6 months. His staff are very friendly and they work very well with children. Dr. Paul is very good and patient with children by just seeing how he is with my grandson. He always make time to answer questions I may have and explains it in terms I would understand. My grandson loves going to Dr. Paul for his dental visits. Shirley is the Manager and she is really great when it comes to the children, and she is there to answer any questions you may have. I started taking my son to see Dr. Paul a few years ago since he came highly recommended by my sister. I was really worried for my sons first appointment since I knew they did not let parents go into the room with their child. They did have a very good explanation for this policy which I totally understand. Kids do not sit still when their parents are around so it just makes it easier if they wait outside. I was also very comforted when Gwen came out she was so nice that he went off with her and did not think twice. I was even more relieved when my son came out and he was smiling.
