Beautiful interior- great seating and plenty of TVs during those special sporting events. The food was fresh with a warm black bean dip that comes out with the thin crispy chips. The delicious churros came out with caramel sauce in the center. Best dessert. The fajitas or fabulous . read more

First time there and the wife and I loved the Birria. I had the chimichanga and she had the tostadas. We also had a chili relleno, it had a burnt taste or something was off. The chips were fresh but the sauces provided were very underwhelming- I am not a fan of mole and they served that with a very dark and chipotle heavy salsa. We usually run out of salsa but this was not tasty at all. I prefer something lighter and closer to pico. Service was good. Atmosphere was early so quiet. Nice decor, food was great when it first reopened but then settled in to same old mediocre food. Not bad but not good.

1) You have soft Tacos, but when asked for Soft Chips we were told you don't serve those anymore??? 2). Waiter was nice, but did not write anything down, forgot parts of order and had to come back and ask again 3). No one came by and asked how my food was, but the manager was bussing tables next to our table. 4). There are much better Mexican options in Mobile. My family eats Mexican often because there are 9 of us (6 adults, 3 kids) and they usually have larger tables to accommodate us. And I will say, Pedro's is very clean and the music wasn't overbearing which was nice. This was our second time trying Pedro's in Semmes and the first visit wasn't great - but we thought it might've just been because they were newly opened at that time. For this visit we came early in the day, before any rushes. Waited on our meals for quite a while and when they finally came mine was wrong. I had ordered a fajita chicken taco salad with the onions and peppers well done because I do not like them very crunchy. It came with the peppers basically raw, still shiny bright green. Not a huge deal, so I asked them to please just have them cooked longer. They took my plate away, came back 15 minutes later and this time the taco salad had NO onions or bell peppers. By now my family was mostly done eating and I didn't want to wait on another plate to be made so I had it removed from the bill. Even without me on the ticket, our bill was double what it cost at other local Mexican places for the same meals. The employees were nice but the other issues make it not worth visiting. read more

My experience at Pedro's Tequila Bar in Semmes was a good one for sure. The restaurant itself is big and really clean so it didn't take long to be seated and the staff was nice. Overall I will give Pedro's a 3.8 out of 5! The food came fast and was pretty tasty. I ordered the grilled chicken tacos on corn tortillas and other than them being slightly dry, they were seasoned great and tasted good. My guacamole was really fresh and very flavorful. The traditional salsa was ok, nothing special, but ok. The pollo loco was pretty good. The veggies were a little bland, I would suggest the charro beans instead. Our drinks were really good, I'll be back for the drinks for sure! Overall I will be back to try something new. read more

This place is substandard, well below average. Have you ever been served a soggy, wet tamale? Well, I was. Have you ever had to struggle cutting a chile relano with a knife because it was hard as a rock? Well, I was. Last, have you ever been served refied beans that included lots of beans that were not mashed up but we're hard as pebbles? Unfortunately, I was. Will never darken the door of this establishment again. I had been there several times over the last year, and each time it got progressively worse. But some friends wanted to go there, so I went with them. It sure is annoying when you pay a pretty penny for disgusting food. Oh, and the service was non existent. Had to hunt down someone to take our order, to refill our drink orders, and to get someone to take our credit card. Total bummer. read more

First time coming in!! the place was good but all they need to do is redo the place (just saying) but yeah the service was SUPER NICE and took my weird drink which is a (half of water, half of Hi-C)AND they did it right. So after all that i started to ORDER a nacho with shredded chicken with extra queso and side of sour cream, guacamole and jalapeño. it took about 5-10 minutes which is good. Afterward they got my food set it on my table the food looked hot and good (wish i had took a picture but didn't be cause people will look at me) the nacho TASTED SO GOOD and was right. After eating all that nacho gave them a 15$ tip cuz the service was nice and kind and the chief who did my food was professional. The new digs is bright and airy with a new bar, tons of seating, and nice vibe. Our first visit since the opening was mixed. There were LOTS of birthdays and they have birthday music that they play over the speakers that's really badly distorted and they have to turn it up when they play it but then forget to turn the volume back down when it goes back to the regular salsa music and if you happen to be at a table directly under a speaker it can drive you mad. It was also really packed (several large tops for all the parties with birthdays) and the staff was having to hustle, orders were brought to wrong tables, and the floors were a mess. But onto the food, which was pretty good. Not fabulous but a step up in quality from previous. First off, I REALLY wanted a ginger ale for my drink and asked our waitress if the bar would have some and was told no so I ordered something else. As I looked over the menu after she left to get the drinks I noticed the Mexican Mule in the cocktail section. They had ginger beer/ale. One star off for dishonesty. The beef tacos were tasty with light crispy shells and moist and flavorful ground beef. The tamales were nice, had good flavor and the filling to masa ratio was balanced, and the Chile con carne was tasty with nice chunks of perfectly tender beef. The tamales were a bit on the small side but with huge servings of rice and beans on the side it's very filling. The chicken chimichanga was supposed to be shredded beef but with the staff so stretched we didn't want to send it back and wait while the other two in our group had their food already. The chicken breast filling was bland and on the dry side. The bar was really hopping and had lots of customers seated and looking like they were having a good time. I noticed a couple of plates of fajitas leave the kitchen and I'm anxious to go back and try them because they might actually be the right kind for a change! Can't find any place that makes proper fajitas anywhere in Mobile so fingers crossed. Price-wise, some menu items seemed a bit steep, especially a lot of the cocktails and entrees with steak or seafood, and the main being smaller portions with larger helpings of the sides, but dinner for three with no alcohol totaled around $62, which in this Brandon economy is about what we'd spend elsewhere if not more. All in all, I think once they get in their groove and iron out some kinks (and fix the horrendous sounding birthday tunes) we might be able to enjoy halfway decent Tex-Mex close to home once again. read more

Ordered Two Happy Plate's(Fry's). one with onion and cilantro and one as it comes and they gave me just rice and meat and cheese on both plates i went in to ask for it to re-make it and they said yes sure and the proceeded to hand me a plate with just a handful of fry's and threw it in the counter aggressively!! and called it a day for almost 40$ it should be made right the first time they weren't even busy do better. read more

So, I am the wrong person to ask about this place. Everyone else at my table of 5 liked the food. I will say cheese dip was good, chips and salsa had a smidge too much black pepper, but enjoyable. Now...my dinner. We three adult grilled shrimp dishes , a kids quesadilla with chicken, and an order of steak fajitas. Mine was to be shrimp and vegetables with rice in a cheese sauce. I went with it as the menu was overwhelming, knowing I may or may not love it. My food did not come out with the group. That happens. The guy pulled out the ticket-he wasn't my server-and asked what I had. I told him. He came back with a shrimp dish on a skillet with no cheese sauce, or cheese at all. I told him it wasn't what I thought I ordered. He said okay and walked away. The skillet burnt the rice, it had no cheese on it, and the vegetables were the frozen Walmart blend. Not a 20.00 dish, and not what I ordered. The ambiance was beautiful, but I felt dismissed and ignored both times I tried to address the food. As I was out with guests and felt I was bringing down the vibe I took the food I didn't order because no one was coming back to the table and ate. I will probably go back because everyone else liked it and it is a convenient meeting spot, I will say if round 2 is not better, it will be my last trip. read more

Tonight was our 3rd time at Pedro's and it was the last time. My wife and I ordered two Enchiladas meals and when it came it was cold. I informed the manager and he took our plates to the kitchen and red-heated our food and brought it back to us. We could tell it was the same food because the food that my wife had spat out back onto the plate was also re-heated. The enchiladas I cut into was the same on my plate! The waitress had to make sure we received another plate cooked to order. Manager never came back to apologize or offer a discount. $57.99 is what we paid. The food is delicious in ample serving size. Servers are attentive and personable. Prices are very reasonable. The place is clean and the ambiance is fresh, open. I visited this place yesterday The food has decline drastically since my last visit. I ordered a cheese quesadilla and a side salad. The quesadilla I was served was not cooked. I could tell from the touch since it was cold. I opened it up and I was right. Apparently, the cook didn't even bother to melt the cheese. The waiter offered to have a new one made but I declined. I walked in as a single patron and was directed to bar. No menu was given. I sat down a nice man brought me a basket of STALE Tortillia Chips and Salsa. The bartender walked past me and recorded two people order, she then washed some dishes, Still did not acknowledge that I was there. She then answered the telephone. Walked past me again. I never got silverware, a menu, and or any hello. The restaurant was not busy and employees standing around. After 12 minutes I walked out. Nice new decor. Poor management, just like the restaurant before. The chips should be cooked fresh at beginning of each shift. Not stockpiled for several days. Terrible Bartenders. Steak is rubber and tastes off. The chicken tastes like cat food. The place is more expensive than higher end Mexican restaurants. Service is poor. This was my first time at this location since the remodel. The sitting areas are crammed together. Rice tastes like it's been sitting out for a while and is way too fluffy and over salted. Even the salsa is lacking, chips came out at room temp and tasted like a cheap bag you'd buy from a store. The chorizo there used to be my favorite, I couldn't finish it this time. It tasted like rubber and a texture of tobacco and was kind of dry. For the price it is probably the single largest disappointment I've ever experienced for a new restaurant. read more
