When I had questions regarding their order form online, I called and Edward picked up. He was extremely patient and answered every question I had. Today, we made an order for a courier to come pick up a last minute deliverable and deliver it to a client by 4pm in Oakland. 30 minutes before the driver was supposed to come, I had to call Gold Rush to push the time back. We ALWAYS seem to underestimate the time it takes to get things done!! Thankfully, Edward was very kind and said he will let his driver know. The driver came around 1:55pm and I asked him to wait a bit. He waited over 15 minutes without complaining! We do feel extremely bad as we know that he has other packages to deliver. Bonus: no fee to activate an account, or keep an account on file. Their prices are beyond reasonable, especially with the level of service they offer. I've used them for smaller deliveries (envelopes and small packages), as well as larger items (several large boxes) for events or hotel pickups. Dominic is the one I've worked with the most, and each time he's been prompt but friendly, and will work with me if there's a specific time frame an item needs to be picked up or delivered. Once a courier was extremely delayed due to the weather, and Dominic stayed past his shift to ensure the courier and I were able to connect/hand off the item. I've happily recommended Flash Messenger to co-workers and clients, and will continue to do so. Tips: -Work in a building with strict visitor/check-in procedures? Bring this to Flash Messenger's attention when setting up the account so they can make a note of this (ex: couriers must have a valid photo ID for check in) -Have several packages or one heavy package? My office desperately needed a new courier service...we just didn't trust the last one we used…read more After perusing around their website and another courier's website, I went with them for two very simple reasons: 1) They require no forms - I just wanted be able to call someone and tell them we needed a delivery from Point A to be Point B without having to write an essay; and 2) hello, $5 delivery compared to our last $20 delivery (down a couple of blocks)?! That's 4 deliveries with Flash, but only 1 delivery with our last courier...no brainer there! Setting up an account with Flash was soo easy; Dominic and the other lady who sometimes pick up (sorry, I don't know your name!) are superrrr friendly, quick, and thorough. And we almost always get the same messenger...although I don't know his name either. But he's very nice and speeds in and out with the quickness, getting the jobs done correctly. I admit I did have some doubts with our recent delivery, as I called them and told them I needed this delivery to be there within the hour (it wasn't our normal guy)...but they saved the day and made it on time! Really bad experience from start to finish. Took in two vests for dry cleaning, one was a brand…read morenew, expensive gift, I had just cut the tags off to get it cleaned. First I had to argue with the employee that faux fur meant fake fur and not fox fur. That should have been my first red flag, but after I asked him to look up the definition of the word faux, we reached an agreement that it was indeed fake fur. A different employee rang me up for two jackets, I told him that they were vests and he argued with me about it. I was running short on time so decided just to leave and talk with them about it when I picked it up. He also didn't apply the first time customer discount. When I picked up the vests, the employee agreed that they were initially billed incorrectly, changed the ticket to vests, and said the first time discount could no longer be applied. Fine, was satisfied he corrected the bill, until I opened the package to see that not only was the material on the new, unworn vest now matted and rough (looks incorrectly cleaned), but is also now missing its belt. I mentioned the missing belt and the employee explained that since they didn't initially notice the belt, they weren't responsible for tracking it as a separate item. I asked him to look for the belt and he could not find it. I emailed the business asking for a manager to call me and still have not heard back. Recommend that you just save the heartache and go elsewhere.
