I would not recommend Gordon or work with him again. As a landlord and property investor with more than 20 years of experience, I've worked with many contractors, and this was one of the worst experiences I've had. Throughout the project, Gordon was difficult to work with. He frequently failed to show up as scheduled, communication was often confrontational, and routine discussions too often turned into arguments. The quality of the work was also a significant concern. I later discovered that some of the electrical work had not been completed correctly, including wiring that was not properly routed through a junction box before connecting to the main electrical system. Even basic items, such as failing to label electrical circuits, were identified by the city inspector during the inspection. Before the project was complete, I had to replace Gordon with another contractor at my own expense. The project ultimately ended with Gordon leaving before completing the work, despite having already been paid for a portion of it. I was left to hire another contractor to finish the job and absorb the additional cost. Based on my experience, I would not hire Gordon again or recommend his services. read more

He was able to schedule the service within two days of my request which is pretty amazing compared to the other responses I was getting. I do not recommend hiring Gordon. Especially when his license has expired on 12/31/2021. He started off great. He knows his stuff and can definitely talk. He did a small job for me fine but when it came to installing recessed lighting, he bailed 5 times on me. ( once due to illness and once due to delay from other work supposedly). He even had me get the permit because they supposedly charge him more for (not true). He was very unhelpful during this time and the permit failed twice. The second fail, he even tried talking to them and said he understood what needed to be sent only for it to fail. Then later pulls out the "this is why contractors pull the permit" card when this was all his idea. This was stressful but glad the permit was under my name so switching around was easy. If you do hire him, I caution the payment. Pay him in full AT THE END. He charged me $600 upfront for deposit, 500 initial, 500 after. I only paid him $600 (not to be seen anymore), and by the 5th bail, I didn't even want him to do the work. He doesn't contact me back, just flat out ignored me. Oh, and lastly, one of the bailed reasons was because the shipment didn't get to the store....what kind of professional doesn't have all the materials prepared ahead of time? Gordon and his son came right out to fix an electrical line that was damaged by our Landscaper. We didn't have power for our frig in the garage, garage door & lights. We lost over $200 in food. We went on NextDoor asking for suggestions on Electrician. Peebles Electric Service popped up with a few others. Gordon answered our request with a few minutes of posting it. They were going to come out on Saturday, but asked if they could come right over. After trouble shooting the problem, it turned into a fairly easy fix. I am here warning you not to do any further business with Gordon Peebles Electric. Gordon came to my home in Maxwell Park and made a bid on attic rewiring job. He told me it was a two day job. Then i sent him $250 PayPal. He complained irrationally about how much he hates PayPal. And then insisted i send him the deposit through Zelle. I asked him to reverse the extra payment to PayPal, and he told me that it cannot be done by him (not true). I have entered a dispute with PayPal and should hopefully get a refund. He showed up day one, but only went and bought materials. Next day he came looked at the job and insisted that it was way more work than he had estimated. And left after about one hour. After that he told me he would come back Wed. He did not. Then he told me he would return Thursday. He did not. Then after not responding to my phone calls and texts, he said that it was just a typographical error and he meant Friday. At that point, i could no longer make sense of his words and behavior. He began to complain that i had misread the situation ! After several strange texts he told me he would be returning my funds, we agreed to cancel the job. But he has not returned my deposits on the job. Claiming that he never got them. I now understand that it is near impossible to recover funds from Zelle pay. No recourse. Folks, don't ever hire this man. His personality is abrasive and manipulative. And never pay by Zelle, or any app that does not allow you to dispute the transaction. read more

We were initially delighted with Peebles Electric, but over the course of a couple of jobs we found things that made us unhappy and led to us not trusting them anymore. We started with a fantastic garage lighting / outlet install and panel upgrade (minus one no-show) and kind of slid downhill from there. 1. Several times we were canceled on with no call or a very late one. (Usually due to a broken down truck.) We have demanding jobs and taking a day off to meet with a contractor puts pressure on both our family and our teams. Not hearing (despite many phone calls) whether someone is actually going to show up, is unacceptable. 2. A tablet went missing from our bar on a day the team were in the house alone. We can't prove who took it. (We have now installed cameras.) We do, however, know exactly where it was in the middle of the day and where it wasn't by the end, because we had a photo of its location. Later on Gordon contacted us saying he felt bad about it going missing and wanted to reimburse, but we never responded. I don't know how you invite someone back into your house after something has gone missing. 3. Our recessed lights in our kitchen were flush on the day of install but have gradually slipped and are no longer flush with the ceiling. We feel like we've given a series of chances to Gordon and his team but now need to seek another electrician. My husband and I frequently remark that we wish it had have worked out. We have a ton more work to do on our house. We were really hoping after that first job, that we were on to a winner we could keep and recommend forever. read more

I scheduled an on site quote that was going to be performed by Gordan (that's who I was in contact with). Mr. Gordan gave me a window of 4:00-4:30pm; that's the time he gave me so that he could complete the quote. He text me after 4pm and said that he wouldn't arrive until 6:30pm. That was okay because I understand he could have gotten busy. Gordon is absolutely an excellent electrician!!! I wish I would have hired him from the start! My previous electrician had messed up and not gotten a permit for 10 months. Luckily the old electrician was able to get the panel upgrade to pass inspection and felt the need to perform some free work due to the long delay. the previous electrician had wired up my hot tub in a way that would have energized the hot tub and potentially not responded to a ground fault. Disappointing experience. Sorry, Gordon, but I have to be honest. The only thing that stopped me from giving him a 1-star is that he gave me a first time customer 15% discount. 1) I had him install the under cabinet lighting in my kitchen. However, the bottom side of my cabinet ended up getting scratched with his electric screw driver when he gouged a hole for the wires. 2) He missed to buy a part to install my chandelier and he had me run to the hardware store to get it because he had another appointment he would be late for if he had to do it himself. I just really wanted everything to be done so I just went ahead and got it but no paying customer should be subjected to that inconvenience! No one! I basically had to leave him and his other guy alone in my place which really made me feel very uncomfortable!! 3) I asked him if he could raise the chandelier a little more since I saw that he still could. He insisted that it could no longer be raised but I continued to insist because I knew I was right. He gave me attitude and told me not to tell him how to do his job! Wow! He did end up being able to raise it up as I had expected he could. Shocker! 4) After everything that happened, I still wanted to give him another chance. So, I made an appointment with him to replace my leaking shower heads. He didn't show up and he was the one who confirmed the time! I had to cancel a personal appointment just to wait for him.. Only for him to stand me up! I called him, texted him and emailed him. Never heard from him. No apologies, no anything! Customers deserve better treatment than this. Owning an older rental home means continual upgrade if you want to keep the present/future tenant happy and the home in manageable condition. We have this place in west county and it was in urgent need of an electrical panel box, the one that links your utilities to PG and E. It is not for moonlighting types or handymen to come in and fix it. You need a professional electrician that understands the local permits and what is needed to coordinate with PG and E. I was fortunate to get hold of Peebles Electric and was able to speak to the owner, Gordon. We agreed on a very reasonable price on the phone. He was pleasant to talk to and he followed the schedule as promised. On surface, it seems like a simple exchange of boxes but it is not and it took a day or two to get the wiring and everything ready and that is why it is relatively expensive. I called Peebles on a Sunday morning at 8:45am when my microwave wouldn't start up. I knew it was an electrical problem because the fridge and toaster were also not working at first but began running after I tripped the ground switch (?, something I learned from Google). Gordon answered which surprised me because his hours are listed at 1-6pm and said he could swing by between 12 and 12:15pm. I also asked him if he could also install our new chandelier which had been sitting in its box for about 4 weeks (couldn't get an electrician to come out). He showed up promptly at 12:07pm and assessed my situation. The microwave was an easy fix and he instructed me on what to do the next time it happened. The chandelier installation was equally smooth. He removed the 80's style chandelier that was there when we bought the house and installed our new modern chandelier. Because the clamp was a little smaller than the original, there was about 1/4 inch of old green paint that was apparent. Gordon offered to touch up the paint using some we had in the garage so that it was a seamless transition. The chandelier looks great and I just heated up my lunch in the microwave. I will definitely call Peebles for any electrical we need done. He also has a GC business and we will definitely consider using his team for our imminent bathroom remodel. read more
