I needed to upgrade my electrical panel from 100 to 200amps. I got quotes from three electricians including one from Formosa Electric. Roger who is the owner provided the best quote which included permits with the City and coordination with PG&E. My existing panel was recessed into the stucco wall which I wanted in the upgrade but Roger recommended a surface mounted panel which I'm glad I went with for ease of adding future conduits into the panel without penetrating into the stucco wall. The quote would not have changed if I decided with a recessed panel. The day of the work could not have gone any better than expected. Roger set up a generator before PG&E cut off power. He does the work with his assistant and they worked fast! There was stucco repair work, new riser at the roof and the panel itself. I happen to have extra paint and they painted the stucco. Roger coordinated everything with PG&E and City inspection. All done in 5 hours well before the planned 8 hrs. We're planning to replace the gas stove/oven with an electric one, which needed rewiring and a power panel upgrade. Glad we got a neighbor's referral to Roger of Formosa Electric. I have probably only written a handful of Yelp reviews ever, but I recently received such great service from Roger that I felt compelled to share my experience and recommendation here. Short version. Recently on a Monday and Tuesday evening I experienced some intermittent whole house electrical problems. Wednesday morning I called PG&E who immediately sent a rep to my house to investigate. By 9:00 am he had shut off power to my entire house and informed me he could not turn it back on until I had the Main Entry panel replaced, which would require a city permit for the work and city inspection when done. I had plans to be out of town beginning Friday, and had no idea how to even get the process started. A friend recommended I reach out to Roger at Formosa. Roger took my info over the phone and gave me a reasonable quote for the work. He ordered a new panel, got the city permit and was at my home promptly at 8:00 am the next day (Thursday). He was extremely professional and well organized, explained what he was going to do in a way I could understand, and even asked me for my preference regarding how the new ground wire was routed. I had to leave for work at 10:00 am. By 12:30 he had completed the work (including having the City Inspector sign off on the work and having PG&E reconnect the power). He sent me pictures of everything as verification. Less than 28 hours from shutoff to fully restored with a brand new main panel including all distribution breakers! I could not be more pleased with the service he provided. Extremely professional in both performance and communication. I've lived in this house 12 years and have had several electricians perform small jobs over that time.
