Walrus is know for their wood-fired oven, and everything has the best amount of char on it. The inside of it is very quirky, and flows with the name of the restaurant. You have a clear view of the wood fire oven. The weight staff is excellent and provided us with great recommendations. I had a little too many plates, so I'll definitely highlight some of my favorites. Don't sleep on their salads or their charred cabbage. It was one of my favorite bites a combination of some nice freshness from the leafy greens, but some nice acid either from a vinegar, paired with that smoky wood flavor just gave it a gorgeous well rounded by. Their rodeos are is amazing, the anchovies might seem scared, but they actually add so much depth to the pizza itself, and the crust is just gorgeous, definitely passing the pick up test and it can stand on its own. And I will say the pork ribs were insane and just melted in your mouth absolutely worth trying. And I think the biggest reason for it not being five stars is that when ordering a pie that is already small they went ahead and also cut it in half. I know that the restaurant is expensive but a full tart regardless of the size would've felt just more complete I think for me.
It was my first time since I heard the have an open bar. We had this churrasco steak that was so good it did not last 5 mins on the plate and their anchiovy pizza no cheese and delicious Sat at the bar and the bartender knew exactly everything that was going on. Great service great team great first impression! Can't wait to come back and try more
What an experience! I pretty much loved all the dishes, that bread with butter & anchovies is a must try. The salads were all refreshing, also the entree pork is a must!! And entree hanger steak with potato pave. Staff were amazing, very attentive and friendly. Vibe for me was fun, quirky and it was open kitchen. Definitely make reservations!
We had a great dinner at Walrus Rodeo. The food, drink, service, and atmosphere were all terrific. I recommend this restaurant and think it's worth the hype and recognition its received. Three of us came here because our friend read about this place in the New York Times. The Times listed Walrus Rodeo in its 2024 top 50 best restaurants in America and 2025 top 25 best restaurants in Miami. The restaurant opened in a non-descript strip mall in Little Haiti on December 8, 2022. Just a few months later, it was listed in the Michelin Guide (February 2023) and has maintained Bib Gourmand distinction since May 2023. Its sister restaurant, Boia De (Italian), has one Michelin star and is located in the same strip. Free parking is available in the shopping center. Book reservations with Resy. We got a $100 credit for this meal using the American Express Platinum Card (benefit is up to $400 in Resy credits in $100 quarterly increments). The cuisine here is New American with Italian influences, centered on wood-fired cooking. You can see their wood-fired oven at the second bar in the back corner. The vibe is hip and indie. Here's what I tried: Cocktails: * Smokey & The Grapefruit ($16) - Savoia citrus, smoked fennel, spice. * Pho-tini ($16) - Cocchi Extra Dry, candy jalapeno, basil Pane Bianco (white bread) & ... * Bone Marrow ($24) - smoked shallot soubise, parsley salsa verde Za's (pizza) * Leeks and Geeks Za ($21) - Brussels, creme fraiche, egg yolk Starters..... * Tuna Carpaccio ($25) - miso eggplant, black olive, tomato * Trumpet Mushrooms ($20) - sundried tomato, parsnip, pecan * Charred Cabbage ($19) - ranch hollandaise, black garlic gastrique & More ... * Mustard Green Lasagna ($30) - lamb ragout, Parmesan, stracchino * Potato Gnocchi ($34) - sunchokes, black trumpet, chestnut Desserts * Sundae ($12) - oak ice cream, maple, bacon * Chocolate Cake ($12) - aged balsamic, chili, creme fraiche Everything was fantastic, unique, and well executed. Highlights included the Pho-tini (it really tasted like pho but in martini form), Bone Marrow, Leeks and Geeks Za (perfect dough; the table next to us ordered one after seeing ours), Charred Cabbage (amazing), Mustard Green Lasagna (popular dish), and Potato Gnocchi. Service was excellent. Annie P was our server. She was friendly and gave us a great bar recommendation (we're from out of town): Bar Kaiju. We ended up going to Bar Kaiju and loved it. Thanks, Annie!
Tasty, unassuming, and a fun atmosphere. This is my friend's favorite place so had to check it out when I came to visit. You share everything and they cook everything in their brick oven. Split between 3 people, and here's where I'll say you should try vs pass. -bottle of wine (get) -il capo (friend's favorite drink, it's a take on a Negroni, get) -oysters (pass) -cauliflower (get) -rodeo za (get - by its sheer uniqueness) -truffle za (pass) -cabbage (get) -pb&j dessert (pass) Favorite bites were the pickled cauliflower and the sauce the cabbage came in. Those were two memorable bites - the rest were just ok! 4 stars instead of 5 because they charged us for tap water (filtered), which seems pretty stingy.
I had a great experience at Walrus Rodeo. We tried the mustard green lasagna and it was delicious. The Rona Za pizza was just as good, with great crust and a good combo of flavors. Looking forward to coming back to try more of their pizzas!
Back story: This was my sugardaddys 3rd time coming here and my first. He says the experience and food quality has improved with every visit. He appreciates how well the kitchen works and the transparency of the restaurant . As a first timer I thought the entire experience was incredible ~ 0 notes from me Food: delicious: we ordered the bone marrow ~ fantastic (order it), fish cheek? This fish was delicious-melt in your mouth. pizza - (can't remember the name) pretty good, the wood fire grill is great (Suga is a pizza guy and really enjoyed it, I don't care too much for pizza and thought it was pretty good) the charred cabbage (was alright, the other dishes were just exceptional we could have done without it, but wouldn't mind trying it again one day), roasted oysters were good, perfectly cooked. -you can tell they have top quality ingredients here. Cocktails - incredible, very complex flavors, delicious Service: 10/10 - every recommendation was a hit Location: parking was easy and free. No stress. This hip loosely Italian eatery sits in the shadow of sister restaurant Boia De in both location and unfortunately in quality. The restaurant is casual and funky in both the decor and the service. Our waitress and other staff were very friendly and borderline goofy in a way that felt purposeful. The tables are spaced decently far apart but it's pretty loud inside. Like Boia De, there is no liquor license but I think that is actually a bigger detriment at Walrus Rodeo as the menu made me crave a cocktail rather than wine. The menu is divided into pizza, dishes that come with a bread made in the pizza oven, appetizers, and entrees. The best dish by far was the beef carpaccio which was a triumph of texture and well balanced in seasoning as well. The baked oysters were only OK. The bone marrow was under rendered and the flavor was lost in the garnish. The peach burrata was pretty good. The lasagna is the specialty here but I was disappointed. Between the smoked lamb, pungent Parmesan, and the pesto there were just too many funky elements. Overall 3* is maybe a bit harsh but I was underwhelmed.
The food at Walrus Rodeo is fantastic, but the service is what really makes the experience! Our server was so fun and kind and gave great recommendations on what to get for our group of 4. I would go back just for her honestly! All of the food is delicious and you can really tell it has been made with love. Highly recommend the Bone Marrow and Marty McFly dishes. The space is fairly small so be sure to make a reservation. Cannot wait to come back!
A fantastic start to my Miami trip! The food was great, and the restaurant's ambiance was beautiful. I especially loved the matches and stickers displayed at the entrance. The highlight was definitely the whipped cheese dish with bread. I would go back just for it. The pizzas were delicious. I forgot to take photos of the entrées, but I enjoyed the steak and potato gnocchi. The salad was quite large, but not my favorite. The oysters were average. Overall, I truly enjoyed everything.
One of my favorite spots in Miami! The decor is high-end cowboy saloon, fitting for dishes like the Rodeo Za which is a pizza with anchovies, spicy tomatoes, and brown butter that was hands-down my favorite item here. Everything comes out of a huge oven in the corner of the room. The Dew'd cocktail was sweet and refined, the hanger steak delicious with a crispy potato pave that was fun to eat. My brother thought the bone marrow with smoked shallow Soubise was the best he ever tried, though I'm not a bone marrow person. I also decided I am definitely not a chicory person - otherwise the green goddess dressing for the chicory salad was delicious. There are a lot of unique combinations to try here and I'd definitely take someone here again.

Such a fun change from the typical Miami restaurant scene. Every dish felt unique and delicious in its own way, the Rodeo 'Za especially stood out (highly recommend!). The service was super friendly and welcoming, and the vibe hit that perfect balance of stylish but casual. You can tell the team really cares about what they do. Definitely one of those places you'll want to come back to again and again.
We came for happy hour and would definitely be back! The happy hour menu has a great selection of food and drinks to choose from. We sat at the bar and got a full view of the restaurant- very cool and unique place. There is artwork on every wall hut in a tasteful We ordered two pizzas and a salad for food and two glasses of their wine on tap. The pizzas were perfectly cooked, cheesy, and full of flavor. We got the quattro formaggi and the margherita. I forget the salad but the bartender recommended it- no regrets. We got a desert it was strawberry something- really delicious but they do change their desert items. HH is Sunday through Thursday - would def recommend. read more

I have never in my life seen a restaurant add a healthcare fee to the customers check to help pay for the employees healthcare. While I do appreciate that they say you can ask for the fee to be waived I feel that puts the customer in an extremely uncomfortable position to ask the server (whose healthcare cost you would be helping) to remove. Also, while I think it is nice for the employees and I do support everyone having access to affordable healthcare, we quite literally had three people at our dinner table who didn't have healthcare so the juxtaposition was really strange. I think that this should be an added question to the check on the tablet when you go to pay such as "would you like to add a X% charge to help our employees pay for healthcare" and should absolutely not be an automatic added fee to the check due to the discomfort it puts the customers in. Before I wrote this review I wanted to see if maybe I was alone in thinking this was strange so I texted about ten people and every individual agreed it was. Food wise, they have some great options on the menu! The peaches and burrata was the star of the show it was so delicious. The rodeo Za is definitely pretty fishy so if that isn't up your alley I wouldn't recommend. Also wouldn't recommend the lasagna. The watermelon matcha lemonade was so good! read more
Came by to Walrus Rodeo for happy hour and really enjoyed my time. Sat at the bar, staff were kind and friendly. Ordered two glasses of their red wine on tap. Really fresh and a nice balance. Ordered the two pizzas on happy hour - the quattro formaggi and margherita along with their kale salad. Everything was delicious and fresh. The pizzas were perfectly cheesy with a nice kick. Cooked to perfection. To end the night we shared a sweet treat - a strawberry gelato that was soo good. Cute decor with fun music. Really enjoyed my time here. Honestly when I don't remember to take photos you know the food had be mesmerizing. As far as I know their menu tends to change around a bit I'm sure it's for seasonality of ingredients and to showcase a variety of unique creations by the chef. They do always have a gourmet pizza selection tho! Their cocktails are made from lots of homemade cordials and other ingredients. 10/10 you definitely need to try this place at least once if you're a local. When I took this photo with the drinks I had this crispy pork belly dish that was a take on like a Cuban Mojo lechón but with slices of crispy pork belly, when I returned, maybe a year after it wasn't on the menu. Best restaurant in Miami, place I recommend to everyone and won't shut up about. The best service and best food in town, though I have not tried their sister restaurant yet - Boia De. My server was excellent and remembered me when I came back a month later. Restaurant is trendy, yet inviting. Food is unique and outstanding, highly recommend everything we tried - the bone marrow, oysters, rodeo za, lasagna, and cannoli dessert. The lasagna is truly something special, like nothing I have had before. Pizza is also great, we enjoyed the rodeo Za - brown butter, anchovies, and bread crumbs. read more
Another WOW moment! All of the flavors were explosive and different. Ambiance was modern, classy, creative, sexy, comfortable and not stuffy! Service was excellent. I could've taken more pics but I was too excited about the food. Not shown - but we also had the oysters and the green lasagna... WOW. Portions are meant to share but truly they feel like they are enough for 1 person. Portions can be a tad bit larger if they're meant to be shared family style. Regardless they were excellent and I can't wait to come back for more! There's plenty more to try from their exquisite menu. read more

Had a great experience here last night! Service was wonderful, I love how they really explain every portion of the plate as they set it in the table. Water was always filled, place was packed, wine was great, and my napkin was always folded on my seat when I returned from the restroom. What we ordered- - Tuna carpaccio - fresh, cold, tasty. Loved the capers and the sauce. - Bone marrow - omg, so good. We all loved it. So buttery, and the dough feels like a pillow. - PSL Za - I loved this! Super unique tasting, very creative. Loved the pumpkin with the cheese, and the lamb was great. - Lamb Mustard Lasagna - Wow! Super rich, super cheesy, super mustardy (but not in a bad way.) Loved it. - Hamachi Collar - Wow! This fish was cooked perfectly. The crispy pieces were delicious and the sauce was to die for. - Roasted oysters - Very good! Could use salt. Would definitely come back here! Walrus Rodeo is located in a small plaza just north of the Design District. Reservations are a must! We were only able to get bar seating with a few days' notice, and the restaurant was packed. The burrata was absolutely delicious, but the real standout was the bread it came with, easily some of the best bread I ever had. I was disappointed with the Truffle Pizza. The cheese overpowered the truffle flavor, and I hadn't noticed it came with sausage, which further masked the truffle taste. The real star of the night was the lamb lasagna--soft, tender, and packed with incredible flavor. Easily my favorite dish on the menu. All in all the service was great, all the servers were attentive and checked up on us regularly, even though we were seated at the bar. I will be back ! read more

A Miami Happy Hour Gem! I stopped by Walrus Rodeo for happy hour and sat at the bar to try their pizza offerings. Try the Rodeo Za for a unique pizza experience! featuring anchovies, spicy tomatoes, and maple brown butter. The combination was surprisingly harmonious, with the salty anchovies balancing the sweetness of the maple-brown butter and the spicy kick from the tomatoes. The wood fired crust added a delightful char. A satisfying and flavorful slice. I also ordered the Roasted Oysters, served with brioche, prosecco, and jalapeño. Briny, tender, and expertly cooked, these oysters were a highlight of my visit. The rich, buttery flavor of the brioche complemented the subtle char from the oven, while the prosecco added a touch of sweetness and the jalapeño provided a spicy kick. I'm eager to explore more of their menu and enjoy another happy hour at Walrus Rodeo! read more
Free and ample parking. Efficient host check in. Variety of seating with a vibrant crowd. To my surprise, Monday had some piz(za) specials. I tried the one without cheese with anchovies. It was so good, we ordered another! The starter ceviche was very fresh as the mushrooms with giant beans. For my desert, I got a sorbet which was refreshing. 5 stars all around for this newish Miami hot spot 5 star food: my entree was mustard green lasagna, and amazingly good. With a group of 4 it was 4 out of 4 votes: the food was spectacular 5 star service: staffers were perfect, helpful but gliding in and out silently. 5 star ambience: it has a large airy almost greenhouse sort of vibe. Had a fantastic experience at this restaurant. Although this restaurant is the sister to boia de I find that the food and service at this restaurant are far superior. The restaurant had nice laid back but elegant feel. The food was delicious my personal favorites of the night were the burrata and the steak. The mocktails were also fantastic. The desserts were also really good although the pound cake was a bit dry. The food took quite a bit of time to come out and you had to order all of the food at once which was a bit different but the food was definitely worth the wait. I'll definitely be back in the near future. read more

The all-fire kitchen turns out some of Miami's most imaginative plates. Don't miss the carrot tartare with carrot-top salsa, the schmaltz-roasted maitake beans, or the mustard-green lasagna layered with lamb ragù--vegetable-forward dishes so good they steal the spotlight from excellent pizzas like the anchovy-and-maple "Rodeo." I love the creativity, energy, and flavors of Walrus Rodeo! The service is amazing. They clear your dishes (and crumbs!) between courses, keep drinks and water glasses full, and I love how they explain all the dishes. I've never had a bad dish, never had a bad experience. The place has such a great vibe! I love it and a must stop every time I'm in town. So good!! read more

Food was solid but overall service and experience makes it a 5 star in my book! We tried to go to Boia De sans reservation around 9pm on a Friday but they were fully booked so referred us over here and I'm so glad they did! We ordered the corn star za, the artichoke app and chicory salad. First of all the pizza- WOW! Flavorful, not too crusty (but it was sourdough so no complaints either way), cooked in the stone oven. Corn on pizza-what a great concept! Not stingy with the toppings either. The artichokes were so good on their own, and I appreciate that they were seasoned and flavorful so you didn't have to rely on the sauce. Chicory salad was pretty good, a nice blend of the lettuces and toppings. Love those crunchy onions. I'd love to try the lasagna next time, as that looked amazing. Service was excellent! Our waitress was very attentive, taking our questions, checking in on us regularly, and providing great recommendations. The drinks were good too. They did well considering not having a full liquor license. My pica pina made with sake was tasty. It's a good size restaurant, and it's cozy inside, and the music was not loud so you're not screaming over it to have a convo. First time at Walrus Rodeo. The restaurant is cute and trendy and service was excellent. Here's a short summary of what we ordered: Peaches and Burrata- Delicious! A standout dish. Crudo with cucumbers- Fresh, and also delicious. Bone marrow - Not my favorite. The chimichurri sauce was overpowering. Stuffed peppers- very good. Mushrooms- great flavor! Anchovy pizza- No one liked this dish. It was extremely spicy and there were hardly any anchovies. I didn't have any on my slice. Overall we had a nice dinner with some good dishes. Prices are a little steep but it's on par with some of the other popular and trendy restaurants. read more
We absolutely looooved this place! The ambience was very relaxed. The service was incredible. They were all very nice and made sure you understood the menu very well and answered any questions you had. I think we had the best seat in the restaurant because we were able to see how the other dishes were made and looked so we already know what we are getting the next time we visit. Now, the food was out of this world. The kampachi paired perfectly with the blood orange. The taste and how fresh the pizza was had me speechless. I've seen other reviews where they complain about the price and the size of the pizza but, in my honest opinion, this isn't a regular pizzera. For that go to papa johns. This is a more elevated and sophisticated restaurant. read more
