I arrived around 11:00 a.m. and had to circle the block a few times before finding a spot directly in front of the diner. When I walked in, I wasn't sure whether I should seat myself or wait to be seated. All of the waitresses appeared busy, so I stood near the entrance. Once she was available, Marianna greeted me. Initially, I wasn't a fan of being asked whether I was picking up food rather than whether I was dining in or taking out, but I quickly realized they may be accustomed to regular customers who already know the process. Since it was my first visit, I explained that I wasn't sure if I should seat myself. Personally, I think a sign near the entrance would be helpful for first-time guests. Since I was dining alone, I chose a seat at the counter and ordered the Sugar Plum Special with cheese grits and sourdough toast. While waiting for my food, I noticed something that concerned me. The staff did not appear to be wearing gloves, and I observed food being handled after touching various surfaces, including condiments, plates, glasses, and trash areas. While I understand that food service relies heavily on proper handwashing practices, I personally felt uncomfortable watching bread being handled directly by hand. I requested that my toast be handled with a utensil instead, and my request was accommodated without issue. When my food arrived, my eggs were cooked exactly as requested--scrambled hard--and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The bacon was a little saltier than I personally prefer, but that's more about my taste than the preparation. Overall, both items were flavorful. Now, let's talk about the grits. I come from a strong Southern background, and we take our grits seriously. The presentation was fantastic. The butter melting on top and the cheese looked absolutely perfect. Unfortunately, the texture wasn't there on the first serving. The grits were noticeably gritty and undercooked. After a couple of bites, I sent them back and requested they be cooked a bit longer. One of the waitresses explained that customers typically need to request the grits "well done." That was surprising to me because I've always believed grits should naturally be cooked until smooth and creamy. In my opinion, that's how they're meant to be served. Thankfully, the second batch was much better. While they still could have been stirred a bit more, the texture improved significantly and was much closer to what I expected. I also want to recognize Marianna for her excellent service. She was accommodating, attentive, and handled my concerns professionally throughout the meal. Overall, I would return. The restaurant has a warm, family-oriented atmosphere and an old-school diner feel that is becoming harder to find these days. It reminded me of the kind of place you'd visit after church on a Sunday morning or somewhere you'd go with your grandparents for a comforting home-cooked meal. While there were a few areas that could be improved, the welcoming environment and friendly service left a positive impression on me.

We also tried the dulce de leche cream puff, which turned out to be just a regular cream puff topped with a sticky caramel glaze - nothing particularly memorable there. They individually wrap these so grab what you want and place it on your tray. Once you're finished, cruise up to the counter. Would I Come Back? Yes, I keep coming back. I use to come back for the Choco Bun, but if they've changed the recipe at all locations, I'll only be coming back for the Milk Bun and Nougat. Their Signature Item: Egg tarts are their signature item. If you've ever been to an Asian party, someone almost always brings a box of egg tarts from 85-Degrees. But on today's visit. Well, just look at the photo. Someone stepped away from the oven for about 6 minutes too long. Choco Bun ($2.55, Grade D): The Choco Bun has been my absolute go-to for years--the closest location to me is usually the South Sacramento store and I tell everyone they have to get it whenever they visit an 85°C. Unfortunately, it's been about 8 months since my last trip, and the Choco Bun is no longer something to write home about. Milk Bun ($2.05, Grade A+): If you've ever had their Milk Bun with the custard filling, the Choco Bun used to be very similar in texture. Now, it's flat with super dry edges. Not good at all. Luckily, I also bought a Milk Bun (my usual second favorite), and by default, it's now my number one because the Choco Bun was a complete bust. It's so fluffy and sweet. Melts in your mouth. Strawberry Banana Smoothie / no boba ($5.85, Grade F): It was incredibly artificial-tasting--nothing real about it. I only made it through a quarter of it before throwing the rest into the garbage. My fault for hoping for a "just picked" fresh fruit taste, but this was honestly one of the worst smoothies I've ever had. Nougat ($9.60, Grade A+): The bagged Nougat candy is fantastic. It's soft, gooey, and packed with what I'm guessing are pieces of pistachio. Delicious, but a fair warning if you have dental issues: these will wreak havoc on your teeth. It's not quite as sticky as a Starburst, but it could definitely pull out a denture! Bottom Line: The staff here is friendly, and there are still a few standout 5-star items that make a visit worth it (the Milk Bun and the Nougat). However, the disappointing recipe change to the Choco Bun and the absolute miss on the smoothie knock this down to a 3-star experience overall.

Like all Peet's, workers come and go. Managers come and go. There have been excellent workers and managers to come through this particular Peet's. The current crew is serviceable. The constant at this Peet's is the hobos lurking around and the strange people who demand a cup of water, plug their phones into an outlet, and use up the few spaces inside the store for hours at a time. I once saw an older gentleman who brought in a Starbucks cup to help himself to the half-and-half. Everybody has a hustle, I suppose. Mine is limited to waiting for the Costo 5-pack Peet's cards to go down from $79.99 to $75.00. Why poo-poo someone's hustle, you say. If a dude comes in and towels off his tumbler and tells the Peet's worker that he's going to pay the refill price for his coffee, not our business, right? Or the hobos that shoplift the hats and shirts, they need to cover their naked bodies like everyone else, too. Well...it's just seems that there is so much of it at Peet's, and not just at this location, and it makes me feel that the cost regular patrons are paying is subsidizing the cheapness and abnormal retail behavior. So, Peet's, maybe set up some rules. Have polite signs. Tell your workers to politely remind people of the rules. No need to berate people in real need, but maybe shame just a few of the others who might look like they can pay and can pay their fair share. Just saying. read more

Worst customer service ever. As a paying customer I expect to be able to use restroom. I was told I could not use restroom an hour before closing because they already had cleaned them and they where not going to open door because they didn't want to clean it again. Spoke to manager who said same thing both management and employee where upset I even asked to use restroom and displayed the most horrible attitude which included rolling of eyes raising of voice and hostile tones. If I could give a 0 star I would. Manager rather refund me my order so that, she would not have to let me use restroom. Big woow. Will definitely boycott. People like me give you your paycheck and apparently customer service is not a concept understood by this location. Not to mention that law requires such facilities to be made available in establishments who's capacity is 20 or more. Will definitely advise do not go to this location. Expect to be treated with indifference, hostility, impatience, and rudeness. read more

According to the app and the sign on the door, hours on Saturday are supposed to be from 6am to 5:45pm but when I showed up at 6:30 they weren't open and the person at the counter just shook her head. The staff here consistently have the worst attitudes. If you have a mobile order they roll their eyes an: act like you've burdened them by asking for the things you purchased. Seriously, if you hate customers shouldn't you like mobile orders? You don't even have to talk to me you just set my stuff on the counter and we're good to go. I only go to this location because it's the most convenient Peet's to stop at during my commute. My order here has never been wrong, but getting it from the baristas is like pulling teeth. read more

I must say, Peet's consistently brews the best coffee, and this location is no exception. However, there's one aspect that perplexes me: the lack of attention to cleanliness. During my visit, I couldn't help but notice a neighboring table with a spilled coffee that remained unattended for the entire hour I was there. Additionally, the interior had a rather intense aroma, which, I'm not sure what caused it, but it seemed as if no one from the staff took notice. I like Peets coffee, but the service at this location seems lackluster and slow. Not sure why, since they have a great spot on the corner near tons of free parking and are surrounded by a lot of great restaurants that bring them good business. Also, the CFL lighting is harsh, hurts the eyes, and really detracts from any ambiance this place could have. Thankfully they have outdoor seating. read more

I wasn't a huge fan of the Chocolate Munchkins, but I really enjoyed the Blueberry Munchkins. For drinks, I went with the Caramel Craze Signature Latte and a Matcha Latte. The drinks were also tasty, but I still think they put way too much ice even when I already ordered "less ice". Overall, ordering online was easy, pickup was quick, and everything was ready in no time. I'd definitely come back again.

I really enjoy Coffee Bean, and I would have stopped here several more times during my stay. It may only represent a few cups of coffee from me, but inaccurate directions could also be costing this location other customers who simply give up trying to find it. Hopefully management can get the map/navigation listing corrected soon. It would make a big difference for customers who aren't familiar with the area.

Been coming to this location as far back as I can remember…read more This time, I parked on the side near Red Robin so as to avoid having to walk through as much of the mall as possible. This led me right to the escalator that leads right down to Cinnabon. It was later in the day and they closed at 7pm so there wasn't too much of a line. I was greeted right away and didn't have to wait too long to ring out. I didn't want to buy too much as I just came from dinner. Purchased a mini Cinnabon that came out to about $7 more or less. Perfect size for one person with no leftovers. The bigger one is more bang for your buck, but I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it all and didn't want leftover so I opted for the smaller size. Ended up working out. Mall was a little hectic as people were trying to get what they needed last minute but this area seemed fine. Never an issue when I come here.

She warmed the rolls and didn't put the frosting in the bag. Their phone number is disconnected. What a waste if time and money at this Cinnabon location!
