Looking back, I read some of the reviews for this location, and I don't know why anyone would waste their time going down the street to Starbucks for coffee. I'll admit, I used to be a Starbucks coffee fan.....until I found Peet's. If you know your coffee, you wouldn't bother with Starbucks either. I am a frequent Peet's customer so they know my name and my drink when I walk in the door. This is one of my favorite locations because of the staff! They're really friendly, they go out of their way to make sure you're getting what you want and they are professional. I don't ever see anyone rudely having conversations while helping customers, and it doesn't matter who makes my drinks, they are all great baristas. This location has a great vibe with some great staff members. Keep up the great work guys! read more

No longer a great Peets. Too many times their "system" was down and couldn't use my Peets card, which I prefer in the morning instead of juggling change. Also, many servers just don't get what it means when I ask for a coffee with "no room" (hint: it doesn't mean a half inch of room). Locations isn't very good, which isn't the store's fault but I don't want to deal with vagrants and fundraisers (D.A.R.E) asking for money and cussing me out. read more

Really disappointed in this location lately. My latte has been barely warm the last few times I've ordered ahead and the last time I ordered a quiche it was still freezing in the middle because they put two in the machine at once. I couldn't have it remade as we were on a time crunch for a movie. Go to another location if you want the quality and service you expect from Peet's. read more

Awful customer service, they messed up my drink, asked for cappuccino, they gave me a mocha, I told them they messed it up, the manager (forgot her name, starts with a P) sided with the employee and said I asked for something different. She then told me to calm my attitude, I said I just wanted the drink I asked for. Manager then asked me to leave the store, won't be giving Peet's anymore of my business if they don't treat the customer as first, and employees as first instead of customers. read more

Wow, been in line for eternity (real time: two minutes) and one barista has his back turned and the other totally ignoring me and the line forming behind me. Then my mocha cup has skid marks ( coffee grounds) all over it. Friday must be Bizarro-Peets night..... read more

I love Peet's coffee and it saddens me to write this sad review. I live close by and sometimes in the weekends I like to treat myself with an iced vanilla latte but the last two visits in the last two months they have failed me! I mean if I wanted crap I'd rather walk the extra steps down the street to Starbucks! The last two times I have ordered the same thing, Iced Vanilla Latte and both times they've forgotten to put in the syrup! The first time my boyfriend went in and ordered it and they messed up, I was in hurry to get to my Saturday class at Saint Mary's College so we had to go, they gave him a FREE DRINK coupon to make amends, but as we are driving away I read that the coupon was expired! FINE! Today I went in to get the same thing and I got a phone call from a friend I haven't talked to in months and I was so entertained in my conversation that I walked to my car, drove to my house down a couple blocks and when I got home I took the most bitter and agonizing sip of iced coffee! On both instances I was too nice to go and argue about it because I couldn't go back or I was already home. I definitely learned my lesson to try my coffee there next time..... that is if there is a next time because I'm not sure if I want to return to that location even though it was conveniently close to my house! read more

Capping off a long day of drinking at every place in todos santos, we decided to get totally AMPED at peets. The staff here area really nice and the drinks are pretty standard for the course. I like this location though because I the plaza is right there, and on a hot day in the easy bay, nothing feels better than some iced coffee and a shady tree. read more

Tonight was my first and last visit to this (or any) Peet's Coffee. My wife ordered a drink and waited in the corner of the store for it to be made. While she was waiting, the two wannabe hipsters (Mark and Nate) working in the back engaged in a long, rude, ignorant conversation about overweight people. We can't comment on the coffee drink itself. When you go to get coffee and the employees refer to the drink as "diabetes in a cup" it doesn't make you want to drink it. We threw it out before either of us could try it. It's a shame that employees are too busy laughing it up to have consideration of their customers. read more

I absolutely LOVE this location!!! They treat the customers like friends, and they actually take the time to become personal and understand your order. I especially give kudos to Patty and another barista (I didn't get her name) but between her and Patty they've helped me come to the perfect blend of my caramel javiva. Patty now addresses me on a first name basis which strengthens the report when I come here. I make a special detour after work just to get me coffee here, and will continue to do so! I am not a coffee or tea drinker but stopped into this Peet's location to grab an iced beverage or a water while waiting for an appointment around the corner. I was literally 5 feet in the door and was taking a look at the menu board ... again not a coffee or tea drinker. Immediately a female behind the counter was telling me I needed to move ahead to order because they've been very busy and she didn't want anybody blocking the door. I felt that was a little rude and let her know I was just taking a look at the menu board. She again stated it's just that we're busy today. Slow slow slooooow service, Internet never works & one day I actually overheard the cashier (who I think was also managing that day) tell a customer she doesn't know WHY they keep coming back! A decent place to grab coffee at. Most of the cashiers are helpful and welcoming. The sound level inside varies greatly so always have a back up place in mind if you're trying to find somewhere to study. Overall it's an alright Peet's location, although I think the sit down areas and layout could be nicer. Sometimes there's some really odd people standing/sitting in the outside area that makes me uncomfortable. This Peet's would be nicer if they fixed up the sit down areas and shoo away the weirdos. read more

I have been here 2x, and both times someone else has "accidentally" taken my drink and left me waiting for forever. I generally like all the coffee that I've ever had here. However, the last couple of mornings that I purchased a caramel Macchiato, they turned out to be ridiculously sweet. Tonight I come in and, as per usual, order a caramel macchiato and just happen to mention to the barista my last few drink experiences. I wasn't looking for a freebie or anything, I was simply wondering how many pumps of syrup go in medium. Service and quality of beverages declined. Ordered a medium matcha green tea latte. #1: 40% beverage, 60% bubbly foam. Requested no foam; Re-made order (#2): Same - 40% beverage, 60% bubbly foam. Cashiers became very irate with me when I requested more than 40% of the beverage. Was surprised the barista heard any part of my request for a complete beverage, as cashiers refused to allow me to complete my sentence - every word was interrupted, but fortunately the barista was able to piece together each single word I was able to get out. Still baffled as to why my drink was made to have only 40% of the beverage. read more

I had the worst experience tonight at this location. I was outrage with how I was treated. As a loyal paying customer I was denied access to take my 3 years old and 4 years old child to the restroom. I was told that they cleaned the bathrooms and were now closed. I asked to speak to the manager and she told me that since the bathrooms were cleaned she could not let any one use it, "not even children"!! I told her they still had 45 minutes before they closed and that it was not my fault that they cleaned the bathrooms during operating hours. The manager rather return my drinks than let my children use the restroom. Both, employee and manager, had attitude and poor customer service. Slow. It took me 10 minutes to get a cup of drip coffee since the cashier was busy chit chatting with the lady in front of me. After ordering coffee, the cashier gave me the incorrect size and when I went to pour in half and half - it was empty (would be more forgiving if it was during a crazy morning rush, but I went at 10:30am....there's no excuse for an empty creamer container). read more

Don't get me wrong I love Peet's but for some reason they are soo slow here. I walked in to this one just wanting a small Hot Chocolate and there were only 2 other people already waiting for their drinks, it took 25 minutes just to get my drink. The barista's weren't paying any attention to the fact that we were waiting and oblivious to anyone but socializing amongst themselves. read more

I always get my beans from these guys. The Pleasant Hill store is closer, but it's always busy and the people working there generally seem either stressed or even sometimes rude. The staff here on the other hand have always been friendly, helpful, and quick. I can't ask for more than that. read more

Todos Santos Park is a great location for a Peet's. The tall trees at the perimeter of the square block look stunning in the right light. An old-fashioned clock sits in view of one side of this Peet's to remind you to get on with the day: with great caffeine comes great responsibility. I don't know how vast Peet's geographical coverage is. I imagine how nice it would be to visit a Peet's that saw snowfall, those warm brown lamps lighting cold, grey sky. A cup of coffee seems more deserved in inclement weather, too. Something came to mind on one of my visits: is there a reverse-yelp, a Bizzaro-World yelp, where workers get to comment on the customers they serve. Because, seriously, that would be pretty fun to read. Unless there was something written about me, there. Mea culpa: I totally overuse those weekend-long coupons. And I have a Peet's card which makes tipping a little awkward with me fishing into my pocket for change. Sitting at the tables, reading the paper, and drawing from your cup, you do witness a bit of weirdness from people who walk through the door. I don't know if it says something about Concord (it probably does). You would think that our mothers would have taught us to behave better in public. Some people have it in their heads that businesses have become public spaces serving up public resources. I think it's a fairly recent development, too. Remember in the past when you had to use the restroom at a place and you felt obliged to buy something? No such sense of obligation anymore. Nowadays, people will just walk into a Peet's to top off their Starbucks cup with milk from the Peet's canisters and help themselves to a short stack of napkins on the way out. I kid you not. That sort of behavior is harder to fathom than the people who come in during a busy hour to steal the tip jar and a box of holiday cookies. I heard some of the bikers who kick it at the outside tables thwarted one tip jar theft. Props, Concord bikers. Yeah, you see the ugly, but you see some really nice people at work here, too. The workers are all very nice. The darker-haired manager that seems to be there most days sets the right tone. The workers communicate well, and they seem to work well together. There is no barista angst here. They're courteous and really do seem to enjoy working here. When the workers visit in-between shifts as customers, they patiently wait in line with the rest of us, instead of bee-lining it to the espresso machines. They even give up tables to other customers when the place gets crowded. And they set an example (to me, anyway) with the gracious way that they deal with some of the sketchy elements of Concord society that walk through the doors. So, this is why you should go to this Peet's. Not to people-watch, because people-watching is just a little creepy and, in our fair city, ultimately a little depressing. Go there for the drinks and the care that the workers put into doing things right. At dusk, with the lights lit around the trees at the park, and a latte at your table, it's not a bad way to spend a moment or two. read more

I hate to give Peets anything lower than 3 stars. If only rating the coffee, this place would get 4 stars at the least. Why? Because Peets coffee is just wonderful! But unfortunately I was definitely not feeling the love (friendly customer service) at this location. Maybe I'm spoiled at my other Peets spots by friendly workers, or maybe this was just not a good day for them, or maybe...well, point is that the service could have been a whole lot better. read more

I love the happy staff at this Peet's. You can tell that they are having fun at their job, which makes my experience as a customer, oh so much more pleasurable. Don't even get me started on the coffee, my orders sometimes resemble the title of a country music song; long, detailed and rambling. But, the joyful staff never get fussy about it, they just smile and prepare me the best damn cuppa coffee ever! The Salvio Street Peet's in Concord, is a five-star experience for sure! This Peets is ok. Service is usually slower than the PHill or the other Concord store. The drinks are made correctly though unlike the Crow Canyon Peets. I love that this Peets is across from a park. And a decent Peets is better than coffee anywhere else. read more

I love Peet's coffee. And I buy at least four pounds of beans a month. And most Peet's respect and accommodate those who just want beans, in the form of a separate line for bean purchasers. Today I stood at the bean line and was after about 5 minutes of being ignored was noticed, but told to get in line with the folks wanting coffee. I did not have time for this and after doing an errand, I had to run, I ended up at the Peet's in Pleasant Hill, where they quickly took care of me in the bean line. So a one star goes to this Peet's and I will not be back to this store soon. I hope this post serves to help correct this stores inconsistent service compared to other better managed stores. read more

I LOVE Peet's Coffee, but recently got an iced coffee from this location that tasted horrid. I almost took it back and probably should have done so to give them a chance to correct it. It tasted old and like it was the bottom of a sludgy barrel. Very bitter, and I like strong coffee. That said, it is always clean and we have used the bathroom before when at Farmer's Market. I usually buy iced teas at this location and have been happy with them. read more

Still not very happy with this particular Peets. Customer service isn't as friendly as other locations that I frequent. At times it also takes a few minutes to place an order even if there's no one in line. Also, after I placed my drink order and sat down, I watched the workers chat and talk about who knows what. The one making the drinks then decides to go help train a new worker. When he came back, he was chatting with the worker at the register and stacking cups. I watched and then he looked up at the screen and noticed that he needed to make a drink. It took forever. As I sat there, I noticed 2 people in line. The workers continued to chat and the one taking orders took her time to get back to the register. I think that if they're going to be doing that, maybe a "We'll be right with you" or "I'll be with you in a minute" would be nice. read more
