Surprisingly I've never been into a Peet's coffee before. I recently moved here and have never lived anywhere that really has them. I was impressed with the food and beverage menu, merchandise and ambiance of this location in Town & Country. It reminded me a lot of Starbucks and apparently there's even an app. The layout is much like Starbucks although I prefer the coffee here. I got a dirty chai latte that was delicious and it didn't take long at all. This looks like a great place for a coffee get together or a place to get work done alone. read more

"It's the morning of Stanford's graduation and it's a gorgeous day. I wanted to top it off with a Peet's coffee. I've been a customer from the beginning of Peet's in Berkeley. I ordered a large decaf latte with whole milk and light foam. It was $6.10, and the app asked for a tip. I asked the cashier to read it back, and he had forgotten to put 'decaf,' so I was glad that he was able to correct it. However, when I picked up the latte, there was no foam. Usually, when I've ordered light foam, I get about a half or so inch of foam. I thought about paying $6.10 and tipping, and I thought I'd like more foam. So I asked a barista for more foam. She came over and gave me like a tablespoon of foam. At that moment, I felt surprised, disrespected, and disappointed. I thought should this be my last visit? read more

This location makes good drinks, has indoor seating, and has wall outlets and WiFi that is reasonable. That's all I really want out of a Peet's Coffee. It's almost always crowded, especially on weekend mornings as the downtown Palo Alto crowd and Stanford students get their coffees. The orders may be a little slow to come out, but it's understandable. And if all the indoor seats are filled, it's usually not too long of a wait before a party leaves, and plus there are plenty of outdoor tables and benches around Town and Country Village Shopping Center that are nice enough. There are also public restrooms next to the Diptyque store that are kept clean. I will rotate my order between iced vanilla latte and iced matcha latte. I tried one of the iced espresso drinks with condensed milk, don't remember the name, but I should have known better as it was way too sweet for my taste. read more

I am a huge fan of Peet's coffee! They have a wonderful selection of drinks with options for alternative milk if you are lactose intolerant or desire something different. They also have a simple and yet wide variety of pastries and sandwiches. I think when I appreciate the most about Peet's is that it tastes like coffee. Other places seem to overdo it with the sugar and sometimes it taste more like syrup and hot water than anything else. This particular branch is located near the Stanford University campus. You can expect to find all types of people working, studying, and conversing there. the day we visited happen to be my birthday and it was such a wonderful morning out. It was foggy, cold, and a perfect time to get something warm to drink and warm to eat. The service was amazing and very quick! Walking in, you are met with warm lights with warm tones the noise is average may be even quieter but definitely not a place that sounds like it's a mess. I enjoyed actually sitting down and having a cup of coffee with my fiancé. If you happen to be in the area looking for a good cup of Joe, and maybe even a short break from sitting in your car, be sure to stop by this place in the morning. it would do you well to help out the traffic and also a great time to start the morning a little more calm. read more

Love, love, love the morning crew at this Peets! They are friendly, kind and very sweet. I'm a coffee addict so every time I go, I'm greeted with a smile (what looks like a smile behind their masks) a "How are you today?" followed by an enjoyable conversation. My go to is an iced latte (rain or shine) and they always perfect it! I've tried their espresso, americano, Havana, and a few others. All drinks that I have tried are very good. Located at the corner of the Town n Country shopping center in Palo Alto. This Peet's has been here as long as I can remember. Service is mediocre, nothing outstanding but didn't experience anything bad like some other Yelpers. Drinks are consistent. I find Peet's coffee a bit more darker and seem to be roasted longer. The pastries aren't as good as before. Wondering if they had changed bakery suppliers...I use to long for the buttery but oh so light almond croissants from days gone by, but recently they are just this crusty old croissant with just a smattering of almond sprinkled on top. Bleh. Then again, this is true with a few other Peet's I've tried in the area, so I'm thinking the pastries itself have gone down in quality. There are a few tables in the store, and I don't remember seeing an outlet nearby, so it is fine if you want a quick stop, but wouldn't suggest it as a place to study for long periods of time. read more

Stopped in because Mr. Piano was craving coffee, and this was the nearest purveyor of bean juice to be had--and that's not a bad thing :) When you're not in the mood for a frou-frou sugary concoction (ie. Starbucks) and you really just want coffee, Peet's is one of the good places to go (I also like Philz). Mr. Piano got a nice cold brew, and I got a hot mocha because I was in a chocolatey mood and feeling a little chilly. They do a good job of keeping the mocha from ending up too sweet (although you can get it sweetened if you want), and I appreciated that the balance between the cocoa and the coffee in it leaned a bit towards a dark chocolate sort of flavor. The interior strikes me as a little dark-ish for working, but it's excellent for sitting and chatting with folks over coffee. There seems to be more seating around the side, but we only parked ourselves at the tables near the pickup counter briefly to enjoy a few sips of coffee before heading out, so I'm not sure how the seating is back there. That plaza is hard to park in during peak lunch hours, but is otherwise pretty nice. Overall, nice coffee shop, and I'm sure we'll be in the area again sometime and stop in :) read more

Unfortunately, the cash registers at this Peets had disabled their Near Field Scanning system, so there would be no using ISIS or Google Wallet to pay for my breakfast. The staff took it in stride and their customer service was otherwise speedy and courteous. The scone was fresh, the coffee was hot and tasty, and there was plenty of outside seating for breakfast in the sun. Good thing because the few indoor tables were all taken. This place is one of my coffee options before I head into work, and I've never really stayed to hang out here. Always in and out. Peet's is better than Starbucks; there I said it. It's in the universe. This Peet's in particular, I've never had an issue with. Same quality I expect from Peet's (not craft coffee, but also not burnt espresso) and the service in the mornings is always welcoming and friendly. I have ordered Pete's many time on our trips to Lucile Packard hospital. I have left feedback about this prior and nothing has changed as I just picked up our order from the food delivery area of the hospital. Our drinks were delivered with no safety coverings- openings of drinks left open- bags that the food come in only folded over- nothing in a safe sealed bag or drink openings covered. Food safety needs to be a priority for this place and cannot be compromised--- yet they continue to disappoint. Needless to say- I will no longer be ordering from Pete's when we are at the hospital. You can tell the level of customer service from an organization based on how they treat you walking in the door 5 minutes before they close. Now even though they were pulling up the furniture and mopping and such, they had no problem letting us order and even sit for a while. Wow. The staff here is SO nice! My friend and I stayed here for nearly an entire day, ordering drinks every few hours. We even brought in lunch from another restaurant in Town & Country, and they didn't mind. Plus, when I got one drink I didn't like, they gave me something else entirely at no additional cost. So, so nice! I just wish Peet's in general had some more diverse drink offerings. I get that they're trying to stay away from the Starbuck's model of endless foo-foo, calorically overloaded creamy, sugary concoctions... Not a great place to study: no outlets (although there are one or two on the ceiling), no lavatories, and no (noticeably effective) air conditioning. Coffee is on the burnt, roasty side rather than the light, smooth kind of coffee. I think it's pretty good, and it's nice for a change, considering how homogenous the coffee scene in the Bay Area is becoming. Service is quick and effective for a busy store. read more
