Temp & Time is a hidden gem in Palo Alto! It's not the easiest to get to - the cafe shares a small plaza with Drunken Monk and parking is extremely difficult so be warned. This cafe specializes in Asian inspired drinks, roll cakes, basque cheesecakes, as well as Japanese puddings. The interior is super Japandi / minimalistic aesthetic. Their desserts have also been officially marked as "not too sweet" by my inlaws so you know it's got that Asian parent stamp of approval! I haven't tried the basque cheesecakes and the puddings, but have been a repeat customer for their roll cakes. So far I've tried their matcha, coffee, and black sesame roll cakes and all are fantastic. Super strong flavors and the chiffon cake isn't too dry. I will say for a single slice the price is quite steep, but it /is/ located in Palo Alto so rent is not cheap I would assume. They offer a wide range of flavors for cheesecakes, roll cakes, puddings, and drinks including lattes. I decided on the coffee cream latte and the original burnt basque cheesecake. The coffee cream latte was like coffee milk. It reminded me of the Star Wars coco cereal coffee, which I absolutely love! Their boba is not the texture boba usually is (it almost tasted like they gave me the wrong order, although I was the only person in there). It was almost crunchy. Decor is cute but sleek, vibes are calm, bar seating by window and a few small tables with seats. Ordering is fast at the kiosk front desk which doesn't seem to have a cashier. Lots of tasty drink options with milk choices and customizable sweetness and ice level - much appreciated! Cakes were delicious and filled with freshly whipped cream. We had the hojicha and biscoff ones. Not incredibly busy - a lot of orders were takeout. Cons: A lot of things were out of stock by 1pm but maybe this is due to Mother's Day. Pricey but the items were high quality. Store is a small footprint with limited utilities (no WiFi, bathroom was temporarily out of order). Parking is very difficult- it's on el Camino so the cars are unforgiving if you're trying to parallel park, and the road parallel by a block is not much better. However, the star of the show here were the roll cakes! The thai tea roll cake melted in my mouth and had a perfectly soft and airy texture. The matcha roll cake was vibrant green and had a strong matcha flavor. I really enjoyed the marbling of both fresh whipped cream and flavored cream in each roll. We went on a hot day, but the AC wasn't on in the cafe. Not sure if they generally don't turn it on, or if it was broken that day, but it was t very comfortable for us. We were only in the mood for drinks, and ordered a matcha strawberry latte and a hojicha strawberry latte. Both were so, so good. High quality, and had just the right amount of sweetness. Such a cute, aesthetic dessert cafe! We've been wanting to try this place ever since we saw their unique Asian-inspired roll cake flavors and cozy interior.
