I got the strawberry matcha and it was very creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. The shop is super easy to pass but there is a small parking lot behind the store. You order on an iPad and the service is super fast. There is a good amount of seating inside as well. I was pleasantly surprised at how good this place was.
Love this store so much! Wish they closed later. Thai tea roll- 9/10 string Thai tea flavor - sweet- doesn't rlly tap into the bitter tea flavor but more the classic Thai tea sweetened drink Black sesame - 10/10 impressed everyone. Fine grounded black sesame but still a little grit for texture. Very strong natural black sesame taste. Matcha roll - 10/10 stunning flavor. Taste just like raw ceremonial grade matcha. Not excessively sweet a bit more on the strong matcha flavor less sugar. Delicious. Very strong flavor though. One roll is enough Coffee roll - 9/10 not bad standard mocha cake similar to paris baguette cappuccino cake. Classic mocha flavor Pink white sesame - 7/10 not my favorite. White cream is the white sesame and the pink is an artificial strawberry flavor. Overall taste like pocky.
I have been very excited to try this place, but I've been holding off because holy moly the price is for a slice of roll cake kind of put me off. I'm used to Asian bakeries where the whole roll was maybe eight dollars, but I couldn't pass up the flavors that temp and time offered. I'm a sucker for tea flavored desserts, so they got me. You have to really pay attention when turning into their parking lot because it's easy to miss the driveway. I just ordered for pick up on their website,, and that was pretty simple. It's a small shop with very minimal seating so I'd say it's a safer bet to just take it home. All in all, I don't regret getting these cakes. They were a nice sweet treat for myself for my birthday, and it was fun to get a variety pack. I tried Matcha, Thai tea, Hojicha, espresso black sesame. I liked all of them, and the tea flavors were very forward, which I appreciated. The cream was a bit odd, the Matcha and Thai tea seemed to be regular cream, but the espresso, black sesame cream was almost gelatinous? And with the cakes that have half tea cream and half plain cream, I wish they were slightly more even? It was hard to get an equal bite of cream with cake. The cake itself was nice and light, yet also a little bit dense, similar to Japanese roll cakes. Would I try them again? The answer is yes. If they introduce another flavor that I'm really interested in, then I'm still a sucker and I would try it again.
Tucked away and a bit easy to miss from the main road. Parking is limited, though there is a very small lot if you're lucky enough to snag a spot. The space itself is dainty yet cozy. I'd recommend ordering to-go, as it can get pretty busy inside. It's also best to come earlier in the day when their full selection of pastries is still available. My friends and I tried a few drinks and everyone really enjoyed them. I'd definitely stop by again whenever I'm in the neighborhood.
Cute little tea shop in Menlo Park! While small, it's bustling! There were many customers coming in and out while I was hanging out with a friend here, and I can see why! I ordered the hojicha strawberry latte with light ice and sugar. It's pretty much what you would expect from a hojicha strawberry latte, with the roastedness of the hojicha being balanced by the strawberry. It was a little light end on the roasted-ness though, but overall not too sweet. They also have a handful of various flavor roll cakes and cheesecakes, which I didn't try this time around. The interior is limited to 4 tables (each seating 2 people) and a handful of single-seating seats. They do not have WiFi available, if you were planning to bring a laptop to do work. Parking is extremely difficult as there's like 2-3 actual parking spots (otherwise it's very tight parallel parking along the very small driveway). Best option is street parking on El Camino (limited) or one street up on San Antonio St (more availability).
Cute little cafe with aesthetic drinks and desserts. It is on the smaller side. There is maybe 4 tables and a bar seating by the window. There is a small/narrow parking lot shared with the restaurant next door. I stopped by here at around 2pm on Sunday. Was sad that most of the dessert items were already sold out! The only options were the black sesame roll cake, coffee roll cake, and hojicha pudding so we got those. I got the strawberry chrysanthemum tea while my friend got the rose lychee drink. Both were good and not too sweet. The texture of the cakes were perfectly soft. The cake was also very moist and the cream filling inside was good. I could taste the flavor of the sesame and coffee. I also enjoyed the hojicha pudding.

I tried the hojicha strawberry latte at 30% sugar. Good flavor, but sweeter than I like since I forgot the strawberry purée brings its own sugar. Next time I'm going 0%. The hot black sesame latte with oat milk (also 30%) was the standout. Warm, balanced, and genuinely comforting. I also grabbed the limited black sesame and espresso pudding roll cake. Moist, bouncy, great sesame flavor, and the espresso pudding inside was delicious. Pricey, but at least it tastes like effort. Drinks and desserts aren't cheap, but the portions are big enough that it feels fair. Overall, a relaxed spot with solid drinks and a roll cake worth repeating.
If you love great quality matcha and desserts that are super fluffy, moist, unique, and "not too sweet" I highly recommend giving Temp & Time a try! This very small and intimate cafe is a hidden gem in Downtown Mountain View. It's perfect for studying or just catching up with a friend. There are about three tables and a few bar seats at this location. Since this place has limited hours, I recommend coming here around opening (12 pm) b/c some flavors of roll cakes usually sell out pretty fast. Also, beware, this cafe is located in a small alley way (next to Drunken Monk), so the parking situation is VERY crammed. Be prepared to parallel park in a tiny area or park around a neighboring business to get here. During my most recent visit, I had a strawberry matcha latte w/ oatmilk and shared a thai tea and matcha roll cake with a friend. The matcha latte was smooth, deep green, grassy, and slightly sweet (50%). The strawberry puree added a nice touch of sweetness and didn't taste artificial. However, the star of the show here were the roll cakes! The thai tea roll cake melted in my mouth and had a perfectly soft and airy texture. The matcha roll cake was vibrant green and had a strong matcha flavor. I really enjoyed the marbling of both fresh whipped cream and flavored cream in each roll. It was done very well and looked beautiful! If you love matcha and Asian-fusion desserts, please give this place a try! I will be back here to try more of their delicious treats c:

The coffee was too milky and the matcha was lost in the strawberry matcha latte. Since the drinks were on the pricier side, we definitely expected more. Our drinks came out a few minutes after ordering. The cafe is fairly quiet so it'd be a prime spot if you're looking for a place to study or get work done.

So it's a bit awkward for friends catching up. More for studying i would say since there's quite some good spaces and tables. There isnt any ordering experience since you order on the tablet. But the staff seems very attentive and accesible if you have any questions. For food and drinks, I dont have much to say. We got the hojicha and it's just okay. 30% sweet yet still too sweet for us. We also got the jasmine tea with house milk. Jasmine is definitely overbrewed since its so bitter at the end. I would say drinks are pricey for its quality. Cakes are decent. A tad bit sweet but acceptable for being a good treat once in a while. I was really tempted with their cheesecakes so i might come back for them.
I've seen this place when I dined next door and finally got to try it with my friend. The parking situation sucks because the parking lot behind the building is extremely small and usually fill up fast with customers for the restaurant next door. I ended up parking along El Camino Real instead of turning into the parking lot. I got less sweet for the strawberry matcha and it was honestly still way too sweet. It might be the strawberry syrup but the drink was too sweet and the matcha flavor wasn't really strong. The inside is nice though. A great spot for studying or just catching with friends.

Temp & Time is one of the underrated matcha tea shops! When you drive on El Camino Real, it may be easy to miss as there is a small entryway to the parking lot for Temp & Time. The inside has such a pretty aesthetic, with a few inside tables to How to order is with an iPad kiosk, so card payment only. The menu selection is nice and simple, offering matcha and hojicha options. There are also small desserts like cheesecakes, cake rolls whole or slice and tiramisu. This tea shop is nice to go to after work to relax and decompress for a bit. Items my coworker and I ordered- * Hojicha Strawberry Latte - light sweet, soy milk and less ice. Cute place that is tucked away behind Drunken Monk izakaya. I came here for a mommy daughter date day to indulge in some dessert and card games. Decor is cute but sleek, vibes are calm, bar seating by window and a few small tables with seats. Ordering is fast at the kiosk front desk which doesn't seem to have a cashier. Lots of tasty drink options with milk choices and customizable sweetness and ice level - much appreciated! Cakes were delicious and filled with freshly whipped cream. We had the hojicha and biscoff ones. Not incredibly busy - a lot of orders were takeout. Cons: A lot of things were out of stock by 1pm but maybe this is due to Mother's Day. Pricey but the items were high quality. Store is a small footprint with limited utilities (no WiFi, bathroom was temporarily out of order). Parking is very difficult- it's on el Camino so the cars are unforgiving if you're trying to parallel park, and the road parallel by a block is not much better. It has an alley and a very cramped space in the back for a lot. Expect to walk. read more
Gorgeous little cafe in Menlo Park! I was looking for good Hojicha in the Peninsula and I stumbled upon Temp & Time. Located in a small building behind Drunken Monk, I came here on Friday noontime. Even right at open, the small parking lot in the back was almost full. The interior is so pretty and decorative. I got to sit down and enjoy a Strawberry Hojicha Latte. The strawberry purée paired so well with the dark smoky roasted flavor of the Hojicha. I personally like it more than Izumi :) I would give this place 5 stars if the cafe provided wifi and opened in the morning, I had to wait until it opened at noontime to check out their cafe. Temp & Time would be the most ideal place for me to study and get work done. Their Hojicha is definitely worth the hype, check out Temp & Time if you're in the area! read more

We heard they ae known for their Asian soft roll cakes. We ordered 3 desserts to share. Black Sesame Roll Cake, so soft and filled with rich white cream and sesame cream. Hojicha Burnt Basque Cheesecake was very rich, nutty and roasty. Hojicha Custard Pudding is smooth and light. read more

They share the same small parking lot as Drunken Monk. The parking lot entrance is easy to miss. I would recommend just parking a little bit past the restaurant on the street - there are a few parking spots available on a Sunday around 1pm. Really nice inside as well! You order at a tablet and they'll call your order when it's ready. A lot of the items were sold out when we came - not sure if that's normal or if we just came too late on this particular day. I would recommend potentially checking their website to see what items are still in stock before coming just in case what you wanted is sold out! They had a hojicha strawberry, which was good. I got it with grass jelly, but I do think I could go less sweet next time as the strawberry made the drink sweet enough already. The cake and cheesecake we got were great. Very moist and soft, but had good flavor for each (black sesame, matcha, and ube). The cheesecake is dense and probably could be shared between 2 people. read more
Went here around 2:00 pm on a Wednesday. Not packed at all, practically the whole cafe to myself. It is tough to figure out where the place is since it is behind another building but there is street parking and parking in the back. The place reminds me of a modern cafe in Japan. We got Ube cheesecake, matcha roll cheesecake, both superb, not too sweet at all. We got lychee tea with lychee jelly and matcha latte with oatmilk, real matcha used and tastes amazing. Solids drinks with many cheesecakes with creative flavors. We ordered a matcha strawberry and a hojicha strawberry, both less sweet and they were perfect. Love that the matcha never separated or clumped after sitting for a while. My friend and I were heading to dinner after so we didn't get to try a cheesecake slice. Their parking lot is tiny as it shares a space with Drunken Monk. There are a few tiny tables inside, a nice quiet place to do some reading or work. read more
The drink is obscenely expensive but it is large. The matcha powder itself is not quite grassy but also not really umami and definitely not a naturally sweet matcha. The desserts look delicious but the price point is high enough to make it unjustifiable. The interior is super cute even if small. I didn't think there was WiFi (or at least if there is it's not advertised at all) and parking is an absolute nightmare in their lot -- if you can even call it a lot at all. read more
I've been here a couple of times, and yet, I kept missing the parking lot. Once you miss the entrance it's impossible to fix/ repark (legally) since the lot is separated by a wall. I've tried their black sesame latte and hojicha latte. The black sesame latte was pretty good, but I'd personally prefer a "thicker" taste. The hojicha latte was very good, except I should've went with less sweet since the default at 70% was too sweet for me and I had to wait for the ice to melt, which diluted the nutty flavor that I liked. The price also went up slightly since the last time I came, which wasn't thaaaat long ago (or so I thought). It is pricey, but the cup is big, so I guess it's worth the splurge once in a while. read more

When you walk into this small coffee shop on the side of the street. There are a few parking spaces which you can park in the back. When you walk in there is a kiosk you can order from. There is no real interaction with anyone. When your order is ready you pick it up at the opening. Some tables you can sit at and near the window has a long table with tall stools. The decor was nice but you have the feeling of being a little cramped. I had the Hojicha Strawberry Latte ($6) and the Sesame Roll cake ($6). I enjoyed the roll cake better than the drink. The cake and cream was soft and had a dominant flavor of sesame. read more

Excellent food, service and Ambience!! Rolls and cakes are always amazing!! Drinks are always delicious!! I try to come here every chance i get. I got my girlfriend a iced coffee cream latte. She loves it. Coffee Cream Latte (Contains Dairy) House-made coffee syrup with milk, topped with coffee mascarpone whipped cream and, topped with chocolate pearls. read more
I was so pleasantly surprised by Temp and Time! My friend had told me about them time and time again, so I felt like I had to give them a shot. The store was completely empty when we came on a Wednesday afternoon, so we got our orders immediately. I got the Matcha Strawberry Latte, while my friend go the Hojicha Strawberry Latte. I LOVED both drinks. The matcha and hojicha flavors were very strong--I like how they use a good amount that it doesn't taste watered down. The strawberry puree was also good without being too sweet or overbearing. The drinks are on the pricier side, but it's definitely one of the better matcha drinks I've had in the Bay. The storefront is a little hard to find since it's hidden behind another restaurant, and the parking lot is also easy to miss. However, the ambiance inside is super cute--there's a decent amount of seating, and it feels very warm. I hope to come back in the future to get more drinks and try some of their cakes! read more
This is a cute and chill cafe. I came around 1:30 pm on a Friday, and noticed that this is a pretty small space overall. I can see about 5-10 people comfortably sitting in here. There's not a lot of parking, I'd say it's smaller than the Molly Tea parking lot (iykyk), with about 6 actual parking spots shared with the restaurant next door. What I ordered: - Strawberry Matcha Latte: The strawberry puree made this drink pretty sweet, but it was a nice touch. The Matcha was creamy and had no bitter notes. - Thai Tea Roll Cake: So soft and flavorful! The cream had two flavors in the middle, cream and Thai tea. Love this tea shop, but do read on for specifics.. I was drawn to this cafe from photos of their interior. Just the type of modern Japanese design that I love! As others have noted, parking isn't straightforward. They're located behind a restaurant, and share a small parking lot that fits maybe 8 cars, but some spots are reserved for employees. We parked down the street in an open street parking. Walking in, I was surprised by how small the cafe is. There is only 1 row of small tables, an aisle, and then bar seating by the window. The kitchen is partially hidden by a Japanese noren. You order via iPad, and they'll call your name when your order, so there's very little interaction with the staff. We went on a hot day, but the AC wasn't on in the cafe. Not sure if they generally don't turn it on, or if it was broken that day, but it was t very comfortable for us. Temp & time serves desserts (roll cakes & cheesecakes) and drinks. This is where they really shine. We were only in the mood for drinks, and ordered a matcha strawberry latte and a hojicha strawberry latte. Both were so, so good. High quality, and had just the right amount of sweetness. I would come back for sure, but maybe not on a hot day (having no AC made me leave right after getting my drink, instead of sticking around), and maybe just for some me time or with my husband. Picked up a gift card and a couple of matcha drinks. Their matcha is delicious. Staff were quick to assist me upon entry and I hope to try their desserts soon. It's such a cute place but their parking lot is pretty small. read more

Cute cozy interior. Didn't care for the drinks but the pudding and cakes were delightful. Small parking lot available. Just park on the street to save yourself the headache of squeezing in the driveway. Other cars are parallel parked alongside the driveway against a wall so if you have a large car forget the parking lot altogether! Order and pay at kiosk and they will call your name when order is ready. Plastic to go bag for purchase available. read more
iced matcha latte half sweet was pretty good. not the strongest but more strong than other matcha places in the area. my matcha latte was around $8 which is kind of pricey inside is small but cute with seating and tables. not much of an ordering experience (self serve). small parking lot in the back. read more
I love this place! MATCHA latte is super strong!! Just as how I like it. No milk foam, but the matcha was so thick and creamy that it made it just as good. Portion is pretty grande. HOJICHA ROLL CAKE So delicious!! Cake is light and bouncy, and that hojicha cream is so strong and delicious. Yes, not too sweet. Vibes are minimalistic, cozy with kpop playing. We need more places like this. I'm tryna enjoy the peaceful days before this place gets insta-famous. read more

Such a cute, aesthetic dessert cafe! We've been wanting to try this place ever since we saw their unique Asian-inspired roll cake flavors and cozy interior. Definitely planning to return to try more of their desserts. We tried the thai tea roll cake and the strawberry yuzu sparkler, and both were delicious! The cake was super soft with a strong thai tea flavor, and the cream (thai tea + vanilla flavored) was light and not overly sweet. The sparkler had the perfect balance of sweetness and tartness - just be sure to stir the strawberry puree well! Ordering is easy through the kiosk, and the service was quick since most of the cakes are pre-made and on display. The only downside is the location and parking. We missed the entrance on our first try, and the parking in the back is pretty tight and limited. read more

I stopped by here after seeing a few reviews pop up on my home page. It is a little bit out of the way and not on the front street. I parked on the street and walked a few minutes to get to the storefront. I ordered the coffee latte - it was pretty good but wish it had more coffee flavor. Rather it was more like tiramisu with mascarpone cream on top. I also ordered a hojicha basque cheese cake - it's still in my fridge but excited to eat it soon! read more
A super small & tucked away cafe off of El Camino Real! You have to be looking for it or you'll miss it. We ordered a matcha latte & a Thai tea roll cake. Their matcha is a 4/5, I wish it was a little bit stronger but it's definitely better than a lot of cafes where you can't even taste the matcha at all. It's a subtle taste but it definitely satisfied my cravings! The Thai tea roll cake was a 5/5. I love how strong the Thai tea flavor was, it was super fragrant and delicious! The cake was soft and fluffy and inside was half Thai tea cream & half regular cream. I think the cream to cake ratio was a little bit high but it was so good that I ended up finishing the cream by itself at the end. read more
First things first, it's kinda hard to find this place. It's located behind the Drunken Monk so keep that in mind as you try to drive up and find this place. Parking is hard and VERY limited. We ended up walking over from blocks away, so it's definitely not the easiest to get to. The space isn't the biggest but still has a handful of small tables and some counter-style seating. Ordering is on a kiosk and unfortunately when I went most of the cheesecakes were already sold out. The space definitely gives Japanese cafe vibes. Service was quick and we got our drinks quickly. The drinks and cheesecake we did get were overall pretty good. The space filled up quick on a Saturday morning and I imagine it will be even busier as people start to get to know more about this place. I'd maybe come back if I were in the area but because of how hard parking is, it definitely won't be my go to. read more
