Velvet soy matcha + soy top

Been here twice so far! I see myself coming again if I'm in the area :) Snowy matcha 50sweet: thought this was the perfect amount of sweetness and good matcha flavor Velvet soy matcha + soy top 50sweet: honestly wish I got 100sweet for this drink but I still enjoyed! Soy taste is different and fun to drink

Tried the Pistachio Matcha and it was a pleasant surprise! I actually loved that the pistachio was the predominant flavor. It was creamy, nutty, and just the right level of sweetness. I would definitely order this again.

The new Velvet Soy Matcha with Soy Top is absolutely divine! I was genuinely shocked by how delicious it was. The matcha is rich, bold, and incredibly smooth. The tofu pudding is so comforting, I feels like I'm eating a traditional Asian dessert. The soy foam on top is creamy with just the right amount of sweetness, and it takes the drink to another level. As for their tarts, I have no words to describe how amazing they are. They're definitely expensive, but they're worth every penny. These cheese tarts will literally melt in your mouth. They also have fantastic matcha gelato, and my other favorite drink here is ube matcha. I just wish this Velvet Soy Matcha would become a permanent menu item because it's that good. I would happily drink it every day (just in case one day they remove it from the menu)

In town to visit friends and family. One of our friends highly recommended Maruwu Seicha for dessert and it did not disappoint. I'm a huge fan of pistachio, so when I saw they had Matcha Pistachio it was a no brainer to order that. The gelato itself was incredibly smooth and creamy. It does cost an extra $1, but I thought the upgrade was worth it for the richer flavor. If you're also a pistachio lover or looking for something a little different from the classic matcha, I'd definitely recommend giving this one a try! Service is standard and wish they had more outdoor seating while we had our dog with us.

    Nonexistent item

Can't say no to a matcha drink and dessert place, but this one fell short. I came in excited to get the parfait dessert drink on a huge ad right by the door- love Japanese style desserts! First of all it was really hot and balmy in the store but this was at night - it was busy but I wouldn't say packed so I'm not sure what was happening with temp control in the store itself. At the register they didn't have the advertised item on the menu, so I went out of the store and snapped a pic of the ad. After more confusion they told me the item isn't being sold yet. Disappointing! And why would you advertise nonexistent menu items! I ended up with an iced hojicha latte with matcha soft serve. Soft serve was very good but very little beverage, just tons of ice to the top and overall was pricey.

Really enjoyed the hokkaido snow top matcha latte. The snow top added an extra layer of taste which I thought enhanced the drink greatly. This is located in a main street on palo alto and the ambience and overall location of this place was very family friendly and such.

Always busy which is a great sign for a business but it's always inconsistent :/. You can order online for pick up but I don't think it's the full menu online. I do like the egg tarts and ice cream though!

The soft serve was great, the other drinks were hit or miss, for instance the pistachio matcha drink was awful. The matcha tart is quite bitter & not for everyone, ube tart was ok, wish the tart crust were more crispy

    Matcha latte with ice cream

So disappointed with the amount of icecream on the latte. Literally just a dollop! The pictures on the screen were too misleading. I have been craving soft serve ice cream and was seriously weighing what to get. Thought with the extra $$ I paid for this order, I would be getting a taste of both worlds. :-/ Now reading the review below, seems like the owner is very stingy. I see why the server refused to even talk to me (just kept on shaking head 'no' from afar) when I was trying to check whether what I got was the correct amount.

Fresh Taro with Matcha Fuji (Snow Top)

We came here on a Saturday afternoon and there was a bit of a line but it moved very fast and we were able to order and get our drink relatively quickly. The ambiance was very aesthetic and lively. I ordered the Fresh Taro with Matcha Fuji (Snow Top) with medium ice, half sweet (which were both the lowest options for both ice and sugar) and Hokkaido Whole Milk. I love that there were milk, sugar and ice options available. It was delicious! The taro with slight sweetness of the Hokkaido Whole Milk was delicious! The Matcha Snow too was not very creamy and not too sweet, which really enhanced the flavor! Overall, I really liked my drink and will be back in the future to try more items from the menu.

Nice café! It was brisk outside even for Palo Alto. I ordered the hot Matcha Latte with sub of oat milk. It was good. On the side I ordered the matcha tart. So cute! Very matchy taste. I like the flaky base of the tart. For $4.50 for the matcha tart, I suppose it is moderately priced for the size. The latte however came out to be over $8....yikes! Not my fav matcha latte purveyor. Just saying. But okay in a pinch.

Matcha Hokkaido swirl ice cream soft serve

The matcha Hokkaido milk ice cream soft serve was delicious. Very creamy and highly recommended. I want to come back and try their Gelato and some of their drinks like the hojicha black sesame latte. There were 2 tablets to order from and a line out the door on a Saturday afternoon. It probably took about 20 minutes to order. There are several tables to sit at and it was a little crowded but our group of 4 was able to find a table inside to sit at.

I ordered the snowy matcha latte with oatmilk ahead online and my drink was ready for pickup within 5 minutes later. This location was busy and full yesterday, Sunday afternoon around 3pm, with tons of people studying or socializing. Although there were many people inside, there would have been no line if I chose to order in person instead. The snowy matcha latte at half sweetness was perfect level of sweet; the matcha flavor was still the main character and was very pleasant. Taste was more umami, not a grassy flavor.

Everything was beautifully presented. The workers were friendly too! Their items were a bit pricey, but worth it for the quality. Their spiral croissants were so much better than Fancy Flavors. It was flaky, buttery, and filled with delicious pistachio cream. This spot is especially great for more traditional flavors. The Anton Hokkaido Milk Crepe Cake wasn't overly sweet and the cream was light and fluffy. It was perfectly up to my standards when it comes to sweetness. My family and I stopped by Marvel Cake during Mother's Day for a sweet treat on Sunday. This location is in the strip of Downtown Palo Alto and has limited parking (similar to the rest of the stores there, there is a lot of parking, and you will need to get lucky). My mom does like the Marvel Cake in their first location, so we swung by here to try this one out! Location-wise, this is a smaller shop than the original one in West San Jose with limited seating inside. I would say it's not work from home friendly however, I did see a college student next to me on her laptop so maybe I am incorrect here! The interior is nice and light, matching the elegance of the desserts. We ordered three items on the menu: the pillow cake, the bisou, and the blueberry lavender roll. Here are some thoughts: * Pillowcase cake: It may seem like this would be a fluffy cake due to the nature of its shape, but it is a gelatinous Jell-O cake with fruit jam. It was not bad, and tasted refreshing and light. I didn't know if I liked it at first, but ultimately I did come back for seconds and thirds, so this is approved. * Blueberry lavender roll cake: This was not at all what we were expecting. I did not taste any lavender, nor did it have a strong blueberry flavor. I think what threw our party off was the layer of gelatin that surrounded the cake. Texturally, we were not a big fan. * Bisou: This one was our favorite one. I appreciated the nutty crust in the bottom layer of the cake, while the filling was soft and bouncy. It is very sweet, however, but overall, I really enjoyed this one and feel like it would go great with a cup of coffee. What made the experience here a 3 instead of a 4 or 5 was the service we got. We weren't greeted when we came in, which, to be fair, is totally fine, maybe they were busy. However, the person helping us stared at us the whole time and did not really communicate well with us. When I tried to order the cakes for my family, they looked bothered that we were there, and I was not sure if they understood what pastries I was ordering because they did not repeat it back to us at all or confirm anything. When I did place the order, they slowly grabbed the plates and looked visually confused, which again, if they wanted to, I could have repeated it back to them. After they gathered everything, they put it in front of us and rang me up. The whole time, they did not say a word to me at all. Did not reconfirm anything, did not acknowledge we were there, did not say thank you. It was a bit strange, and I had to check with my family if it was me or if that was a really weird experience (it wasn't me).

Perhaps a bit on the fancier side, but it's a pleasant place to go for some coffee and a dessert. All of the desserts are beautiful and imaginative spins on classics with a middle eastern twist. Baklava Cheesecake: Such a pretty little packet. This is a bit contradictory, but the cream cheese filling is a little too sweet and dense and the outside should be a little more sweet, perhaps with syrup like on a traditional baklava. I missed that stickiness and moisture on the flaky exterior. But overall, it was fun to eat. Sweet Cheese Rolls: These were pretty good and quite creamy inside. Halawet el jibn is traditionally served with pistachio and rose syrup. These are hard to come by in the Bay and kind of expensive here, but tasty.

We always ask for a table with chairs because I have back problems and can't sit in their totally worn booths and the host has never had a problem with that request. But yesterday the regular host wasn't there and we were told they were busy and we had to sit at the counter or in a booth because they didn't want to put us the two of us at a table for four (there were two tables available). We waited for nearly ten minutes and when I asked again if we could sit at one of the tables was almost rudely told no, they were busy. So we left and went to Joanie's on California Avenue. They were also busy but immediately seated us and we had a much better lunch. Sometimes it's good to change things up as we'd forgotten how kind and attentive all the of the staff are at Joanie's and how much better the food was. And both of our plates of food came out hot and perfectly cooked which doesn't always happen at the Creamery. I guess we just eat there for the memories.
