Lovely people! I can't say too much about the menu because I'm not a very adventurous person, but their tea and coffee is amazing and they're lots of tables for studying (not many poweroutlets just so you've been warned). I just wish it was closer to where I lived because this would be my go to for studying. Coming from someone that works at a Starbucks, Pete's staff is much friendlier and their mobile rewards are a lot better (it's based on per visit reward system rather than a per dollar system). read more

Was expecting Starbucks, got something better. You just get the base of the coffee and then you go crazy with the rest of it with the creamers and other options like cinnamon with the exception of javivas which taste amazing. Inside is nice and have a reward program for a free coffee so I might come back. read more

I've mentioned it before in other reviews, I'm not a huge fan of chain locations. But this Peets is different. When I lived in CA, I got to know most of the baristas as this place was almost a daily stop. They are all friendly, make great drinks and get you on your way. Their expresso tastes 10x better than Starbucks and their drink prices are cheaper, especially if you pre-load your card (they usually have some special running if you load $20 or more on a Peet's card). Here's what makes this store unique, I stopped in there last week for the first time in a couple of months. And without fail, see the same baristas was like visiting old friends and they didn't skip a beat remembering my drink. I know that may sound a little corny that it meant a lot to me, but its true. We went here last weekend, and I was impressed with the Service here. I needed a cup of Joe for the ride home on Sunday Evening and I remembered seeing this place. It sits right in front of the Nut Tree facing E. Monte Vista. I was about to get my usual White Mocha with Non-fat Milk and with No Whip, but was persueded to try the Rasberry Mocha. I think I found my new Favorite. Not too sweet with Raspberry syrup on top. I also ordered a Hot Chocolate and a Drip Coffee with room for cream. The guys who were working that night were on top of their game. They made sure that the Kids Hot Chocolate was not too "hot". They also made sure I liked my drink and wanted to know if I needed more syrup. A lot of families and couples were hanging out, but it seemed warm and inviting place to chill out. I ordered a pumpkin chai latte at 150 degrees. I know, I know, but I used to work in coffee and for me that's the perfect temp to drink right away and not burn my tongue. The barista I think stopped the steaming at 150, but the milk temp had already gone past that and it burned my tongue. I also think they forgot to add some flavor to it because it was disgusting. I asked if they could remake a regular chai latte. That came out room temp & bland. There were 2 baristas and 4-5 customers. Seriously, if you can't get the temp right (or even close) TWICE, you don't care anymore and should not be behind the bar. read more

However, there's a particular young, brunette barista that was quite a b-word when I inquired about which drinks were which on the counter as I picked up my order, and I quote "[It's] the white mocha, YOU ordered it." I tried Peet's Coffee because of the betrayal of Starbucks, refusing to ship their precious coffee to our troops in Afghanistan and Iraq, "because we, (Starbucks) do not support this war nor the troops!" So I decided to give Peet's Coffee a try and to be perfectly honest, I honestly loved it and thought it was way better than Starbucks! I'm a former US Marine Veteran, and I love my country, my Marine Corps and totally support our troops under any/all conditions. I come here at least 3-4xs a month and get a dark roast every time, and I am unsatisfied every time. The coffee is so Un-Peets like!!! Not the usual strong tasty kind. I hate to give 2 stars because I am a huge peets drinker. For some reason this location does have the strong brew I desire. The service is great. Besides having the strongest coffee around this Peets is great for their service. 1st time I've ever been here and the 2 people working the registers were the nicest baristas in the world. It was taking a while grinding the beans for this guy that ordered a few bags of beans and they apologized to everyone.
