I love this Peet's!!!!! ALL of the employees are super super friendly and cheerful and welcoming. I like my Big Bang freshly brewed, and some of the employees see me coming and start it up fresh....just for me. During Christmas I heard actual Christmas songs here..... including one that was religious. No one was offended....no one complained....as a matter of fact everyone was just happy in the moment. It was in stark contrast to SB....which doesn't even mention Christmas on their cups anymore. Still a great place to go for me after all these years. They try to get you in and out quickly, but it can be a busy place during some of the hours of the day. They are consistent with what they do. I noticed the same friendly faces over the years too. I do love that there is both good indoor and outdoor seating. And it is close to a small Nut Tree park. Very slow, I was in on 8/8/20 around 1000a and it took 18 min to even place an order. Only one person in line in front on me. And 20 min for my order to be finished. While waiting I watched every barista lose track of what order they were working on, finish orders and not notify customers, mobile orders incomplete that were ordered 20+ min prior. I think this team needs to find a more efficient process to complete orders and work together rather than as individuals. read more

We frequent this location just about every time we are here visiting family. It's busy especially on weekends but they keep the line moving. Although I always prefer patronizing local coffee shops, I do love Peets and I'm much more a fan of Peets versus Starbucks. I tend to get their lattes (hot and cold) and I also like their chai lattes. The seasonal pumpkin chai latte is especially good. Their cold brew fog is really good too. I'm so happy they offer coconut milk as another non-dairy option! I get it every time. If you're a coconut fan, they make a great coconut whipped cream to top your drinks. All of the Peet's Coffee locations are pretty consistently great. The have amazing coffee drinks but also have tea and great foods to eat. My fav is a vanilla latte with a delicious ham and swiss sandwich. The service is top notch...not satisfied with your drink, they remake it with a smile. it is common to see groups of old and young friends gathering there for some time together over a hot drink. However, the Peets at Fairfield is by far the best experience if you want good coffee with good experience. My experience today at Vacaville was disappointing. I was just another customer. Went to get a cup of coffee and it took over 25 minutes.. they had a small staff of 3. One performing cash register duty and bouncing back and forth as a Batista. They had one full Batista and a Jr. Batista pulling double duty.. the crew was doing there best. A 4th employee came out from the back to assisManagement needs to up there game to schedule more employees. This isn't the first time or I'm expecting it wont be the last... 10/8/2022 The call in orders flood the Batista's. The waiting Patrons are very dissatisfied how long it takes to get there orders. Our return to the Bay Area from Genoa NV on New Years Day was a long one. We woke up to lots of snow on the ground and the news of chain controls on 50, 80, and 88. My son and dog were thrilled to be in this winter wonderland, while Gayle and I marveled at the beauty of this area and discussed our 3-5 year plan that might have us living here. At around 1 PM, the CA DOT site showed no chain controls and with a possible storm coming in that night, we decided to use this weather window and head home. A number of folks had the same idea, and traffic was slow on the Pioneer Trail and up and past the Daggett Pass. Around Sacramento, I decided that I needed a stretch break and some coffee. I remembered that there was a Peets within the Nut Tree area of Vacaville, and resolved to stop there. Plus, the dog needed a walk and we were low on Major Dickason's Blend at home. Maybe I'm spoiled with the Original Peets on Vine or the one on Solano (both in Berkeley), with their "Urban and Gritty" (in Gayle's opinion) vibe. This Peets is a suburban one that in my opinion lacked atmosphere, good line control, and deep knowledge of their product. It was also the first time that I was accidentally charged for my complimentary (with bean purchase) cup of coffee. Yet, the coffee was hot and fresh, Gayle's Latte came out quickly, my son enjoyed his muffin, and our hound loved his walk. You ever have that one coupon or gift card tucked in the deep recesses of your wallet or purse, buried under your AAA Card, defunct Blockbuster Card, and some faded, barely readable receipt... 'That you only rediscover after the expiration date? I just happened to find this particular, FREE small Peet's coffee just in the nick of time. ($3.50) However, it was buried in my wallet so long that half of the coupon looked like as it had termite damage. It's always a treat when I can stop in @ a Peet's coffee shop. I'm usually dropping by a Starbucks just because they're about as prolific as Walmart or McDonalds... They're everywhere. Unlike the "S-word," Peet's hasn't whored itself out to the extent the above fore mentioned has... 'And it's very much appreciated. Due to the simple fact that you can't find Peet's on every other block in town, that alone separates it from the pack that the general population flocks to. I find the Peet's crowd to be a little more mature, that's just fancy talk for "old." In addition, the overall clientele is different than the Starbucks crowd as well. I don't usually find it packed with teenagers ordering coffee'esque like drinks. (i.e. - Overly sweet, blended shakes) Don't get me wrong they're tasty and a great way to Type 2 diabetes but sometimes you just want to enjoy a nice, quality, cup of coffee/mocha in a laid back, mid volume, shop and not listening to nasally, whinny, 14 yr old teeny boppers, "I know Todd likes you, yes he does, look?! OMG! OMG!! He's looking over here right now..." (Yeh, because that's relaxing.) I'll be the first to admit, I am no coffee connoisseur by any means. I'm usually getting a mocha, sometimes with a shot of Torani but rarely do I drink it black. I overheard a conversation a couple months back where one of the parties asked, "How do you know what the coffee really tastes like if your always adding that Italian Creme to it? If you truly want to taste the coffee you need to drink it straight, no nothing, just black." (After overhearing that, it kinda stayed with me.) I recently saw a documentary on Netflix, "Caffeinated," great film. However, you may want to drink a cup of strong coffee while watching it because it is NOT the most attention grabbing story... 'And I did mention, "Documentary?" If you want to learn something about coffee, its early beginnings, the coffee bean process, to the foil sealed bag @ Peet's Coffee & Tea, it's worth checking out. The documentary just reaffirmed what I heard two months prior... Translation: I need to start trying my coffees black & unadulterated with sweet creamers and flavored syrups... 'And that's what I decided to do. I handed my coupon to the young lady who then asked me what I'd like. I replied, "What do you suggest?" She preferred the Cafe Domingo, medium roast, not overly bearing like a dark roast but still has enough of a kick.... 'Sounded good! ('And it was.) I've never had a bad experience at any of the Peet's I've visited. The team members have always been friendly, helpful, & professional. The shop's not very big, it can seat a number of people but not a lot. Patio seating is also available. I sat there, took my first sip & tried to search out the flavors, from the subtle to the bold. (I don't think I did too well.) I blame all the peppers, garlic, and spicy food that I love. The Cafe Domingo had some bite, made my ears tingle. Drinking coffee black is much like drinking hard liquor versus beer or wine. It's stronger, stiffer, which requires sipping and NOT merely pouring it down your pie hole by the barrel. So, I sipped, sipped, and sipped until I was staring at the bottom of the paper cup. $3.50 for a small cup of coffee can't compete w/McD's prices but then again, it's NOT the same quality either. Overall, it wasn't as bad as I imagined. Now, it may have been a different story if I had tried the dark roast. I'm thinking that my next bout with a simple, straight cup o' joe, black, I may opt for the light blend just merely out of curiosity. I wonder if I could order a "Coffee Flight," with one espresso size cup of light, medium, and dark, side-by-side to taste & compare. Before moving from Laguna Niguel back to the SF Bay Area, I would regularly visit the Portola Coffee Lab, a small but amazing coffee spot located in Costa Mesa. NOW, this a a genuine coffeehouse in its truest form. The brewing methods used here are the V60, Trifecta, Siphon, and the Kyoto cold drip. (Portola had exclusive tastings, as well as workshops. Serious coffee.) I sure do miss the Kyoto. The drinks are absolutely sub par compared to any other Peet's. I get the same drink every time and it's made incorrectly every single time. I'm not trying to be one of those Karen bitches but someone needs to let them know. An iced Havana Cappuccino is supposed to have sweetened condensed milk... where is it because every time I get it it's just a latte with cinnamon. At one point I asked for extra SCM but apparently they couldn't read past the initial drink name. Customer service can be good but majority of the time they can get short with customers and have a posh attitude. They did not greet one person, and barely made eye contact with anyone. Let me just say that I have worked at Starbucks and used to be a huge Starbucks fan...until I came here! If you love brewed coffee and love to have a multitude of coffee beans to choose from this is the place! I ended up getting a medium roast coffee even though I am used to a blonde or light roast and was not quite sure I would even like the coffee or not. But I ended up putting my usual amount of cream and sugar in it and after one sip it was absolutely amazing! I also had to opportunity to enjoy a lovely raspberry scone that was perfect! It was not too dry and it was not too moist, it was the one sonce that Goldilocks would have chosen to eat, it was just right. LOL! I will definitely come back here and not even worry about not paying so much for a caramel macchiato at Starbucks because I had enough caffiene in this one medium brewed coffee that I had in a normal triple venti caramel macchiato at Starbucks. The barista was also extremely nice and could tell that my friend and I had never been there before and was patient and explained a few items to us. I've been here twice now while driving through on Hwy 80. Each time the girls at the cash register who took my orders were VERY friendly and both seemed to thoroughly enjoy their job. I love going to this Peets location for my hot beverage and the friendly crew like Tiegan, Cory and Grace. The coffee is amazing and the coffee scent is so enticing. But lately i have been avoiding going because of this "Rude" associate named Katara. She's so unfriendly and roll her eyes all the time when you ask for something extra or different done to your order and she would argue with the customers. Went to Peet's last week. For the fourth visit, when I asked if one of their pastries had nuts, I was told, "i don't know, but I don't think so". I explained that was not really an acceptable answer due to allergies, etc. I asked them to get out the nutritional information and look it up. I then asked for the manager, who told me they weren't allowed to answer the question because there could be some nut contact. One of the worst coffee shops I've been to in a long time. Although I love Peet's in general, this particular location was horrible in terms of customer service. We just ordered an Iced caramel macchiato and a Fruit squeeze. The woman who took our order - the one with pink hair and glasses - she was so rude, she did not even budge when I asked her to pass over the fruit squeeze I just paid for. She just kept staring at me as if asking me to move on.
