Went in for breakfast today with my sister, nephew, and one of my sons. Great service, fresh food, and overall enjoyable experience! We've been wanting to try Pegah's since they started the renovations- glad we were able to stop In today. Bright, clean atmosphere, friendly staff, and Homestyle cooking. What more can you ask for? Ordered club sandwiches for take out. I had to make 2 trips because the host in the front only gave me one bag which only contained one sandwich and fries. Had to drive back with nothing in return for the inconvenience after giving them a $5 tip(big mistake). After making my second trip and going back home AGAIN, I opened up my food and MY sandwich was a half fast job. The bread wasn't toasted and my fries and sandwich was soggy. For spending $35, this places was a huge disappointment. read more

Really homey feeling place! Easy to find and no wait at all to be seated! We had ordered the Chicken Fried Steak omelette special and the eggs Benedict and they were great! The food quality had a lot of tender love and care and the service staff was very friendly. read more

Would of liked the Mexican Skillet more if it had spice to it. Not sure exactly what the Spanish sauce was but very similar to what restaurants give as a dip w/ chips before your food comes. It comes with toast... recommend their sourdough. Overall, it was good. read more

The service was excellent, the food came quickly, our meal was delicious, and the portions were generous. My first time to this Pegah's Kitchen location I'm used to the excellent service and food at their Escondido location so I expected the same for Vista...unfortunately, that wasn't the case. We were seated right away, the restaurant was mostly empty at 12ish pm. I ordered what I usually order...the AM starter breakfast with eggs over medium, hash brown potatoes, bacon and a pancake. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the pancake was large and fluffy...however, the hash browns were way over cooked and too crunchy to enjoy. The bacon, I ordered it crispy, was definitely crispy but instead of actual strips of bacon, I was served little chunks...like large bacon bits...like they were trying to get rid of bacon that had previously been cooked. Our server seemed indifferent...I got a vibe that she was not happy having to serve us. Even though it's further away, I'll be sticking with the Escondido location from now on. read more

Not meaning it in a bad way, but it reminds me of Denny's. Of course better than Denny's, but still similar. From the items on the menu, to the pricing, to the whole feel of the place. I wasn't a fan of the Hashbrowns at all because they felt kind of mushy. And I'm not one to send my food back to the kitchen. All I ended up finishing was my eggs and 2 pieces of toast. The waitress came to drop the bill off, I handed her some cash and then continued eating my food. As soon as she came back she asked if I was finished. Rude much? I still had some Bacon, a piece of toast and Hashbrowns left. I hate when it feels like people are rushing me to leave. Was looking for a place to eat breakfast/lunch because I usual place was closed. After reading the reviews, I figured why not, the place is really cozy. It has its usual clientele which at the time of my visit 0930, is an older crowd. I sat down, the waitress was nice, and pleasant, she game me space and time to choose and when I narrowed it down to 3 items she was fast was her recommendation. It's a greasy diner. Greasy food that lacks flavor. If that's your jam, you'll be happy. When I was seated, the hostess asked if I'd like coffee. I don't drink coffee so she took away the supposedly clean mug from the table. It was not a good first impression when I saw crud inside the mug. It hadn't been washed well. But whatever, I'm not drinking out of it anyways, so I pretended not to notice. My food came in a timely manner. My waitress was hard to track down when I actually wanted her, but otherwise she walked past a lot and asked how I was doing (about 3x more than I like). They have gluten-free bread. So that's a nice touch. Beware if you have allergies - definitely don't assume anything. Mention your allergies, and find out if they're able to handle it. Before that everything is cooked in butter; and your gluten-free toast will come slathered in butter. I used to not eat healthy, I didn't have allergies, and I wasn't so picky on what I ate. Back then, if I lived nearby, I'd probably eat here sometimes. But I'm now a healthy eater and I'm aware of allergies and food-sensitivities, so I won't be back. read more

For breakfast they have the best corned beef hash around--nothing weird just good potato, onion and corned beef flavor. These days a lot of local businesses are suffering financially so my family and I have made an effort to support this business several times during the pandemic, one of the servers is actually an old friend so it had been positive experiences until today. I was very surprised when the owner of this restaurant basically shut the door in my face on my way out because he misunderstood our conversation in Spanish with the server. I am genuinely surprised he asked me not to speak to her even though I didn't interrupt her from her responsibilities as there was only one client other than myself there. I am saddened and feel very uncomfortable at how rude he was after coming here multiple times a week. Some days almost every day. Although it bums me out, my family and I will DEFINITELY no longer support this local business. I will speak Spanish and spend my money someplace else. read more

This restaurant has gone through several owners and now is a Pegah's kitchen. My hope is it remains a Pegah's for a long time. All the staff including the owner are friendly and attentive. Whether it's breakfast, lunch or dinner the food is fresh and well made. As far as portions, I can't imagine anyone leaving still hungry. The portions are generous to say the least. Omelette was perfect, the fruit was ripe and fresh and the toast was nice and buttery, just how I like it. DONT EVER USE GRUBHUB!!! they are TERRIBLE!! and hour later we had to call and cancel. called the restaurant to let them know I would be picking it up and they were cool with it. upon showing up the lady up front and the manager happen to be there and they remade our food so it would be nice and hot. WOW!! how awesome is that!! I didn't even asked them to! when I got home the food was still hot and crispy. Large portions great tasting and awesome service! We will definitely be back. We are staying in Carlsbad at Sheraton by LEGOland,. Looking for breakfast, we found this little gem on Yelp. Very friendly place. The restaurant is very clean. The food is very delicious. The husband and kid had a waffle and eggs breakfast which is very plenty that they could have split. I ordered the short stack buckwheat pancakes and added strawberries, blueberries and bananas. Yum! Mom heard this new place was on point and suggested it for a late breakfast. We arrived to witness a unhappy customer discussing his dissatisfaction for the cheeseburger he ate and the owner arguing with him. Never in my life have I heard a business owner tell a customer "customers are always right except for now, you are wrong" then shakes his hands at him as he walks out. Moms hash was good, nicely seasoned and not dry, Burrito was average at best & omelet was decent. Didn't jive on the random melted cheese slices but all and all it was good. Wish the biscuits and gravy were better, too starchy and a heavy flour taste. We may go back to try their sweet varieties of breakfast delights. My parents and I were looking for a place to eat breakfast/lunch. My dad said he read about a place in the paper on Santa Fe named Peghas so we decided to give it a try. We walked in and we're greeted by the owner and a very nice waitress sat us down. We ordered, mom got a burger, dad got a pastrami sandwich and I got a sandwich cleaned the bird. And it didn't disappoint. The owner checked on us and he received nothing but smiles from us. Our waitress was awesome she saw our drinks were half way and brought us another. She was attentive and friendly. We even overheard a woman with her grandchildren, she was there from La Jolla and she read about this place and drove up here to eat and she was glad she did. The owner was super friendly and attentive as well. My dad and I told him how happy we were with our food and the service. He knew a lot of his customers name, and to see someone be so attentive to clients left a lasting impression.
