Peka is consistent with great food. I had the garlic shrimp, beef empanada, and whole snapper, all were absolutely astounding! The food was beautiful and worth the brag, the bathrooms were spotless and great for a mirror selfie, and the live music was amazing. We were with a large group celebrating a birthday, and overall, the atmosphere was full of good vibes and great energy. Our server was wonderful throughout the meal, but things fell apart a bit when it came time for the bill. She seemed confused and all over the place, which made things a little stressful and anxiety producing. Dear Peka, please invest in handhelds that let servers itemize by guest with an option to tap and pay. It's 2025, and that kind of upgrade would make a huge difference. My least favorite thing was the mocktail. It was flat and lifeless, which was disappointing given how incredible everything else was. Consider having a mixologist create some nonalcoholic drinks that are just as amazing as your food, because your dishes deserve beverages that match their level of excellence.

We had our holiday Celebration at this amazing restaurant. We had an excellent time. Our server Sergio was very friendly and made sure our food was on time and our drinks were delicious. The ladies loved the sangrias, mojitos and many margaritas available. The cuisine was from all over Latin America. What a delight we tried everything. It was a Saturday. An amazing live band called primera clase Had everyone dancing. Salsa , merengue, cumbia and bachata. We had an incredible time. What a way to end the year. Thank you !!! #MAHispanicDental Association #MAHDA

Over all it was pretty good food, very hospitable host. The steak was very tender and the guacamole was flavorful as well. The decorum was kind of dated.

The ambiance was so fun and loud, has really awesome night life vibes. The service was a bit slow and my boyfriend's food came out a lot earlier than mine, however that it most likely due to it being Valentine's Day when we went. The food itself was some of the best Latin cuisine I've h ever had. Their birria and carnitas tacos are to die for!!

The decor and seating was amazing with different rooms. Joanna was amazing, attentive, she knew the menu and made sure we were satisfied w our meals and drinks and that they were on point. They had live music after 8. The shrimp and tostones tapas was delicious, the charrasco steak was good i exchanged the rice for coconut rice which was the perfect choice. They surprised me with tres leches cake. My birthday experience was excellent and they had great spot for a photo op near the bathrooms and the other rooms also had wonderful art and color. I would definitely recommend for your next celebration!

Went here to celebrate my friend's birthday, and it was so much fun. They had a salsa band, and somehow my friend's father made his little dancing floor by the band, where there was no room., The place is fairly large with three rooms and it's a great place for birthday celebrations. The food is delicious. I had the ceviche and tacos and they were very very good. The owner Kat was super nice. She showed the entertainment room, which was a cute space for dancing and celebrations.. it seemed like it was well enough for the pop up place for people to come out and play. The sangria was good. Will be back here again.

We came on a Friday and had a fantastic time here! Live music, tasty cocktails, and great food! My favorite tapas dish were the tequeños. I had never had these before. They look like mozzarella sticks. They're the most delicious puffed pastry rods filled with melted cheese, that you dip in this guava sauce. The other standout dish was the yellow ceviche. I had wanted to try a ceviche with leche de tigre for a long time, and this lived up to the hype! I think leche de tigre is the special Peruvian marinade for the ceviche, with certain flavor profiles. I also enjoyed the gaucho skirt steak. Love that it had sweet plantains and yucca. I was also really glad we got the shrimp, which was an awesome combo I wouldn't have thought of (putting saucy shrimp on top of tostones). The cool thing was that after enjoying a full meal and mezcal cocktails, the musician started playing dance music and a bunch of people got up to dance bachata and salsa.

5/5 Peruvian ceviche - very refreshing 5/5 flank steak cooked medium rare w/ cheese, salsa, rice, and beans 3.5/5 red sangria, on the sweet side 3.2/5 yuca fritas, flavor is there but not a crispy consistency Came here with a friend on a Tuesday night to check it out and would recommend! It's a nice place to enjoy dinner with a good amount of space between tables inside. Additionally, on Fridays and Saturdays there is live music starting at 8p. Will have to come back to enjoy dinner with the performance! We both had a good experience dining there as our server was prompt at taking our order for drinks and entrees - no issues with ordering or service at all. Would highly recommend the Peruvian ceviche and the flank steak w/rice and beans. They were amazing! For parking, there's no lot, but you shouldn't have any issue find a spot. There's ample street parking along the side streets that's a short walk away.

If you're looking for authentic Latin American cuisine, you won't want to skip out on Peka when you're in town. You walk into a beautifully decorated restaurant, with a welcoming ambience. Staff were attentive and the menu had a good selection. My friends and I all got something different but I have to say my flank steak with fried yuca, plantain and chorizo was an absolute flavor bomb and delicious! Their paella was also great, full of seafood and flavorful. We went on a Friday night and they had live music as well which was lovely. Definitely worth checking out!

I love it, the decor is absolutely beautiful. Great place for a date. There is plenty of street parking with a 2-hour limit. The staff is amazing. The food is good. I had the fish tacos and briria (sp) tacos. The staff is so cool that they have a full bar. So this is a great place to chill.

Beautiful space, good food. Wasn't crowded on the Sunday of a long weekend but maybe that's to be expected. We were a group of 4 and ordered the Peruvian Ceviche, Garlic Shrimp, a trio of mixed tacos (mahi mahi, birria, and shrimp), Flank steak, and Red Snapper- everything was on point. Service was great. No music or dancing on Sundays but it was also easier to have a conversation without having to compete with loud music that way. We ended with churros and vanilla ice cream, and coffee- perfect.

There are so many great things to say about Peka, it's hard to know where to begin. The entire menu is inspired by fine Latin cuisine, so you will definitely get a little bit of that Venezuela, Peru, Mexico, Cuba, etc. feel throughout the options. They have your more basic items, like tacos and nachos, but also some more exotic items that are harder to find. There's a ton of flavor in everything. The Ahi Tuna Ceviche was exploding with what I think was vinegar and citrus, and just ignited my taste buds. The decor is very cool, and it's amazing to see what they did with this old Irish bar space. It definitely has a whole new vibe. It's dimly lit but has TVs and great music playing. Chef/Owner/Creator Pedro is an absolutely huge part of the environment here. He's making his way around from table to table, chatting with patrons and making recommendations. He saw the tacos on the table and immediately said "Do you like hot sauce?" and out comes some of his homemade hot sauce. It was awesome. I wish they bottled it. You need to ask for the hot sauce, it's got a really nice kick! The tacos come individually and I highly recommend the fish ones (mahi mahi). They came with pickled radish, guac and just loaded with ingredients. The shrimp dish reminded me of tapas I had in Granada, Spain. So good. The fresh grilled bread to dip in the sauce was to-die-for. I could have eaten 10 pieces of that bread. I regret not ordering the nachos, but I'll be back! I want to try so many things on the menu here. The reina pepiada caught my eye too, but I had just ordered so much already. Hoping to order more things I've never had before. The coconut flan was the best flan I've personally ever eaten. I highly recommend saving room for dessert. You won't be disappointed. If you get the opportunity to chat with Pedro, you will find out this isn't just a business for him, this is his personality. He lives and breathes the restaurant business. It is in his blood and you can tell he enjoys nothing more than making his patrons happy with his cuisine. Although Pedro isn't Italian, he feels like my Italian Uncle just making sure you eat enough and he'll have a drink with you too. Hospitality is his thing. There were points I forgot I was in a restaurant. It feels like you're at Pedro's house. You should most certainly try Peka. There's a parking lot across the street next the police station if you drive to it.

The ambiance was cozy and inviting, though our table was in the middle of the aisle which felt a bit cramped. Unfortunately, the service itself was inconsistent. We had to ask for bread three times. When we ordered two brownies and one coffee, we were brought one brownie and two coffees. At the end of the meal, we asked for both my meal and my son's meal to be wrapped to go. My son's plate was accidentally thrown away because other plates were stacked on top of it. When I asked about it, the server explained what happened but did not offer to remake it, remove it from the bill, or apologize, which was disappointing. That said, it was a busy Friday during Restaurant Week, so I would consider coming back and hope the service is smoother next time. While writing this review, I actually received a text from the restaurant letting me know we left our son's plate behind, which was thoughtful and appreciated. If Yelp allowed half stars, I would give 3.5.

Thank goodness for takeout boxes. My favorite plate was the QUESO DE CABRA CON MIEL (goat cheese with honey) served with crusty bread. We paired it with the CHORIZO LEÓN HERRADURA. It was just perfect together. Dessert was worth mentioning. The warm double chocolate brownie with ice cream is a definite yes please. So rich, so gooey, so worth the calories. Bocado is a tapas restaurant, but I found these small plates quite generous. Roll me home I'm done!

We walked into a space divided in a way that gives tables a sense of privacy despite the larger dining room, and the atmosphere was lively without becoming overwhelming. The tapas format rewards ordering widely. The ceviche is fresh and well balanced, with enough acidity to make it a strong opener for the table. The lamb meatballs and lamb chops deliver on the richness that lamb focused tapas should bring. The beef tenderloin is a reliable anchor for anyone who wants something more substantial, and the shrimp and calamari are both worth adding to a spread if you are building out a fuller table. The paella is massive and feeds more people than you might expect, with the chicken and chorizo version being the more reliable order for flavor consistency. Where the experience gets uneven is in the consistency across the menu. Some dishes land clearly while others fall short, and the kitchen does not always execute at the same level across a large tapas spread. The ceviche and lamb dishes worked well on our visit, but a few other plates did not quite match that standard. Service held up well, though it can stretch thin during busier stretches. Our server was attentive and helped guide us through the menu, but the pacing slowed a bit as the dining room filled. For a tapas dinner in the suburbs with a good selection and a comfortable setting, Solea is worth a visit when you go in knowing which dishes to prioritize.

But putting that aside, the hit-and-miss nature of each dish sucks the fun out of it. I would not recommend the beef skewers to anyone. While they looked gorgeous, they were downright chewy, with no tenderness or rendered fat to help me out. I almost always eat every bite of a meal, but I couldn't finish them. In contrast, the spinach had crispness, flavor, and raisins for real balance and a decent flavor profile. My spicy Solea (house) margarita was too strong, but worse, it was spicy as in hot, rather than spicy as in flavorful. It was like pepper was coating the back of my throat. On the other hand, the Basque cheesecake had great texture, on the outside and inside, and it was sweet and creamy. I found the service cheerful, and the space is great for large friend groups or for solo watching the World Cup. All in all, though, don't come here for the food.

Come Mother's Day and I am not a fan of going out on the actual day, but I did remember this place. We made a Saturday reservation, picked up my son from work, and headed over here. SO WORTH IT! I thought the spot was adorable and clearly well loved by locals and their own staff. You really get the feeling that all that work there really love the place. I like the menu items are not the "usual suspects" I see at most Tapas places, which are good but sometimes you want to shake things up. We got: Bolas de queso Patatas Aioli Croquetas De Jamon Croquetas De Verduras Solomillo De Ternera y Queso Cabrales Calamares Fritos Tabla de Quesos Pisto Manchego Albondigas De Cordero Iberico Peras Borrachas Torta De Chocolate All the menu items were flavorful and enjoyable. I think my favorite was the Croquetas De Jamon, if I had to choose just one item. We also decided to get two desserts - a pear dessert which seems to be their signature dish and the chocolate tort. While the pear was lovely, I was really in the mood for something chocolate so I enjoyed it more (but honestly cannot go wrong with either).

I enjoyed my staples for the night: Jamón Iberico, garlic Chicken; pollo al ajillo (a must), and a red sangria. The jamón is freshly cut to order with a nice drizzle of pure olive oil over top. The sangria is so refreshing with fresh fruit tasting like they just picked it themselves. The lovely bartender, Astrit, informed me the grapes are Grenache from Spain , which have a dryer, robust flavor compared to the sweeter red sangrias that make you regret your decisions the next morning and tastes better in my opinion. I'm usually more of a beer guy but this slaps! I've also had the white before and that also hits the Richter scale. Last but surely not least, the garlic chicken (pollo al Ajillo) is the best chicken I've ever had, hand to God. Spiced with everything nice and delicious oil and garlic that you deserve. Even on a first date, you'll be kissed after giving this to your significant other. This fine establishment is one of my favorites and I always am satisfied, leaving with a full belly. We walked into a unique space with dim lighting, stylish décor, and an energetic vibe that makes it feel like a great place for dinner with friends or a date night. The interior has a polished, slightly moody energy that fits the style of the food, and the layout accommodates both small tables and larger groups comfortably. It can get busy, so making a reservation is a good idea if you are planning to visit during peak hours. The biscuits are easily the standout item and are a must-order. They come out warm, buttery, and incredibly soft, making them one of the most memorable dishes on the menu. The restaurant is designed around sharing, so ordering a variety of small plates is the best way to experience it. We tried several dishes and found the flavors well balanced, with the shrimp and grits delivering a rich, savory depth and the fried chicken offering a crispy exterior with a juicy interior. The mac and cheese was creamy without being too heavy, and the variety of flavors across the menu made it easy to sample several different dishes in one meal. The cocktails are also worth exploring, with creative combinations that complement the food without overpowering it. Service was attentive throughout our visit, and the food arrived at a steady pace despite the restaurant being busy. The staff were knowledgeable about the menu and offered thoughtful recommendations, guiding us through the small plates format without pressure. The atmosphere stays lively without feeling overwhelming, though it is definitely on the louder side during dinner service. The energy of the room adds to the experience, and the pacing of the meal allowed us to enjoy each course without feeling rushed. Prices are a little higher than average, but that is expected for the Back Bay location and the quality of the food. Buttermilk & Bourbon is a great option if you are looking for creative Southern-inspired food in Boston. The combination of excellent biscuits, flavorful shareable plates, and a fun atmosphere makes it a destination for a meal that feels both polished and approachable.
