A very authentic Chinese restaurant! There's so many options, I highly recommend the 3/4 people meal combos. You get tons of small plates to share and can sample a bunch of different foods. As a vegetarian the options are less, I wasn't super blown away by anything. The eggplant was meh and the liang pi was good but didn't make a large impact on me. My family really loved the duck. We chose this restaraunt to try the Peking duck and left a little disappointed. Food was average, tables were kind of dirty, and it just felt kind of meh. If you want to order Peking duck, they request you let them know beforehand. The dish was served with slices of duck, wrap, cucumber, green onions, and hoisin sauce. The duck was cold and kind of dry. The skin wasn't crispy and was more like regular chinese bbq roast duck rather than Peking duck. The wrap was quite thick, kind of doughy, and not great. Being one of their signature dishes, this did not live up to the hype. Xiao long boa: it definitely tasty but it was not xiao long boa. The wrapper was thin and the meat filling well seasoned. There was no soup inside though! And the bottom was crispy as if it had been fried. The other dishes we tried were black pepper squid, lo mein, and some fried pork and chicken dishes. Great place to go to if you are craving peking duck in houston! I love that they serve their duck with the chinese crepes instead of the bao buns which some other places do, though i must say their crepes are a bit thicker than how I like them to be. Also wish that they serve cucumbers with it to give the wrap that extra crunch. Peking Cuisine's recipe uses green onions, while the dish I had used salted mustard greens, but it was close enough - not to mention delicious, and an unbeatable value. Just $8.55 for a huge portion with fried rice, plus soup and appetizer of choice? Yes please! We went again today and I ordered their Sweet And Sour Fish, and it pretty much blew me away. As I'd hoped from its place on the more 'authentic' half of the lunch menu, it was the exact same dish I'd had previously at MUCH higher price points in Chinatown restaurants. The fish was cooked to crispy perfection and screaming-hot straight from the fryer, served in a more-sour and less-sweet sauce that complimented it beautifully. Even my husband, who prefers a beef dish 9 times out of 10, was eyeing my plate with jealousy after I let him try some. I plan on ordering my way through most of the lunch menu sooner or later. So far the best Chinese meal I've had in Houston. Reminds me of the family Chinese restaurants growing up in Vienna/Fairfax. Mad props to my coworker for recommending this place! Best way to judge a Chinese restaurant is the Peking duck. It's in the restaurants name after all! It's freaking delicious; skin is crispy, dark and white meat is tender, and the flour wraps are thin but able to hold up. It's simple to concoct: skin, duck meat, scallions/leeks, duck sauce, wrap up, and scarf down! Pan fried dumplings is another dish they're famous for: comes with 8 and a spicy chili oil on the side. Dumplings are thick with a nice crust and succulent filling. Oh, and how could I forget the sweet and sour crispy fish!? Fish is crisp to perfection and mixed in that sauce, ooooo mama!!!! I haven't had a bad dish here. Even dishes I've tasted for the first time (chilled jellyfish, eggplant in garlic sauce) were tasty and would definitely order again. The menu is large with traditional Chinese dishes and also your typical Chinese-American standards (General Tsos, Beef & Broccoli, etc.) for those picky eaters who refuse to be adventurous (shouldn't be eating with them anyway)! The dining area can seat about 40-50 when packed so if you're having a large party (8+), make arrangements. With COVID, they've removed tables for social distancing and still doing carry out. Restaurant is BYOB if you wanna bring a 6pack or wine for your meal. Been here twice; first time was just me and him. Second time, we brought more work people. This is his family's favorite spot for Asian family meals as they've been eating here since they moved to Houston in 2006. I still think this is the best place for Peking duck because of how they expertly cut the duck. The crispy skin is separated from the meat and is served with the thin pancakes instead of gua bao that other restaurants some times serve. An order also comes with the duck soup, which is good, but nothing special. Additional pancakes are charged extra. Another dish that I was impressed with is the bitter melon with black bean sauce. Under the restaurant wok the black bean flavor is able to perfectly infuse with the bitter melon and balance out the bitterness. I got the Peking duck dinner for takeout with my family. You need to call in ahead at least a day in advance to order a duck. I think the price was somewhere over $40, so it was a very good price. My family has been coming here for 15+ years. It's my favorite Chinese restaurant in Houston!! We always get the peking duck. You should call ahead to reserve one. If you get it to-go, of course the skin won't be crispy, so we usually reheat in the oven or the air fryer to get them crispy again! But sometimes, the kitchen is so swamped that they just give you the ingredients to make the soup yourself (if you're getting it to-go). Assembling it and eating it is the most fun part. Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed! As soon as I reached Houston, several people recommended this place. Everyone said the duck is BOMB. I pre-ordered the duck in case the place is packed on a Friday night. Surprisingly, it was pretty empty when we got there. As soon as we ordered, they brought the duck (The perks of pre-ordering). I like speedy places. Especially since my friends and I always hangry peoples! The sauce for the duck was probably the highlight of the experience. It was just absolutely perfect on top of the wrap and the vegetables. Without the sauce, the duck would have been too bland and probably just tasted too fatty. The tofu soup that came with the duck was also very light and refreshing. A great contrast to the fattiness of the duck. The fried green beans was a little different than what I'm use to. Instead of stir frying it with minced pork, they used pickled vegetables. It was different but not unpleasant. I think with all the meat, the minced pork would probably have been too much anyways. I gave the overall experience a 4/5! Coming to Peking cuisine is always a wonder experience. My family has been coming here for the past 20 years and the food has always been consistent and wonder in flavor. Peking Cuisine is a local Chinese restaurant serving the best Peking Duck. With their Peking duck course, it comes with duck, tortilla, and a soup. How I like to construct my Peking duck is grabbing a warm and chewy tortilla adding a spread of their house special duck sauce and then laying a hefty amount of green onions on top of it. I then grab some pieces of duck and some crispy duck skin and put it all together and enjoy the amazing flavors of this great dish. Some of their other delicious dish is Dan Dan noodles which is a chill oil base noodle. I would say this meal is pretty spicy but the spice mesh extremely well with the chewy noodles. Although everything on their item is tasty, I want to highlight one more dish which is the sweet and sour crispy whole fish. The whole fish is fried and coated with this amazing tangy sauce. Then when you dive into the fish, the silkiness of the fish combine with the crispness blend together so well. I have no other words for it beside it being amazing. I had pretty high hopes for this restaurant as my friends hyped it up and told me that this was their go-to place for great Peking duck. We also booked the private room since we had a party of ten people and thought it'd be a good idea to have space to ourselves. There is a minimum order if you don't want to pay for the private space and I don't remember exactly how much, but luckily we made the cut. The service was efficient and they kept our tables drinks filled but nothing extraordinary. We ordered several dishes including Sichuan cold noodle(this was the best dish we had as it was refreshing and coated with adequate spice), spicy beef cold dish (sliced thin and yes spicy again), jellyfish with garlic (it's not difficult to make), + a lot more I don't recall because it was not very memorable in my opinion. The main event of course was the whole Peking duck. While it looked great, it only tasted okay. The skin wasn't crispy enough and the meat wasn't very tender. The thin pancakes and the condiments that go along with it were typical, but the duck just didn't seem appetizing. It was too similar to any random roasted duck at any given restaurant, which is subpar. Not all roasted ducks are made equal. All in all another Chinese restaurant looking to serve a variety of Chinese foods yet maybe a little too confident in naming themselves after Peking. If I come again, I'll be with a group of people who insist. I'm not going out of my way to eat here because there's a lot of better and quality restaurants that serve similar dishes in Chinatown for a better price. read more

My friends and I, however, did not because we decided to come try this place out last minute. We still got duck though!!! As one of the original, best spots in Houston to get Peking duck 15+ years later, it tastes just as great then as it does now, despite all the new competition that have higher prices for better restaurant ambiance. They require reservations for Peking duck due to the volume, so it's highly recommended even if you want to try your luck just to show up. The skin of the duck is just the right amount of crisp on the outside to still maintain a level of juiciness on the inside. They provide the traditional complement of scallions and sauce and you wrap everything in the traditional thin pancake (looks like a thin tortilla) versus the bao bun that other places do. To top it off, they serve a generous sized duck soup with nappa cabbage and tofu. What an experience. I went to Peking Cuisine with some friends for a Christmas Eve brunch. There were 15 of us and our group organizer was certain to make reservations and request one of their private dining rooms. First off, duck is the way to go. Again, call ahead and let them know with your reservation so that your duck is prepared - including a pot of duck bone broth made for each whole duck you order. That's to be enjoyed at the end of your feast. (If you're not stuffed.) Other dishes worth ordering are the dan dan noodles, stir fried green beans, noodles with gravy, and tofu You can BYOB it but for a $15 cork fee (kinda steep if you ask me). It makes sense if you're taking in a $100 bottle, but I doubt that's the case there. Some things that I wasn't a fan of: :: Staff smoking cigarettes right outside the entrance. Overall, not bad. It also came with duck soup. So, nothing from the duck was wasted. Glass noodles in garlic sauce - 5/5. I liked this dish a lot, since it had such a punch of flavor from the garlic, sauce, and cilantro. It's such a great cold appetizer. I had to tell myself that this was just a starter and not to eat the whole dang thing. Hahaha. Twice cooked pork/fried chicken/fried squid - 4/5. These were all pretty good. I would've liked the pork to be less salty. Flavor was on point, though. The fried chicken had a pretty good texture. The fried squid was not as light and crispy as I'd liked. But, I loved the little bits of jalapeño and garlic interspersed in this dish. It went so well with the squid. Ok, the reason why this place gets an overall 3 star rating was because of their shady tip tactics (this has happened on more than one occasion when we ate here). They slap a tip onto the bill that we didn't think they deserved, and then we call them out on it and they fix the bill. But, this should never be the case. It's not ok. Make sure to get enough of the crispy skin 3) Top it off with some black pepper and chili oil (Ok this is mainly my preference lol) 4) Roll up and sides and stuff it into your face. My craving was satisfied! This entree also comes with a cloudy white soup that contained napa cabbage, tofu, and 2 duck legs.
