I've got to say, it's kinda frustrating reading some of the comments on here because Peking House is a family-owned restaurant, and every time I've ordered, they've been nothing but friendly and reliable. Their delivery is always fast, and the only time they don't deliver is when someone's address is outside their delivery area--which is totally understandable. The food has always been great. Fresh, hot, flavorful... exactly what you want when you're craving good Chinese takeout. That's why it was confusing seeing reviews about people finding hair in their food or saying negative things about the chefs. My experience has been the complete opposite--never had an issue, and the staff has always been kind and professional. Peking House Chinese restaurant offers delicious, traditional Chinese food with speedy service and a fair price. My family has been ordering from here for years, and we are always impressed with the friendly service and delicious food. We recommend the General Tsoas chicken or the Singapore Noodles! The Wonton Soup and Egg rolls are also top notch! Notably, the restaurant is take-only (though there are a couple tables if you choose to dine in). As much as I would like to rate this family run business higher, since they are the only Chinese Restaurant that still has duck on their menu, I keep being disappointed in their execution! To cite some examples, their fried noodles, for months, have been stale, their boneless pork spareribs are always underdone and chewy, their fried dumplings are tough and almost inedible, and their seafood specials that have lobster are woefully overcooked. I wish the chef would realize that seafood delicacies require their own cooking times, and you add them to the wok, accordingly. I like the family that runs the business, I like their generosity of free accompaniments, but their chef does not execute his dishes well. Sorry. I guess I'll just keep searching for a decent suburban Chinese Restaurant (hopefully, with duck on its menu). read more

The sweet and sour chicken was packaged with lo mein which made it soggy. There were also HUGE pieces of celery in it- which I have never seen- and I'm allergic to celery. (I had a big reaction and I didn't even eat any actual celery!) The beef with broccoli tasted like it was coated in basic beef gravy. The egg roll was flavorless. Really the only good thing is it was delivered quickly. Wouldn't order from here again. My husband had major indigestion and felt sick for hours after eating the food we ordered. read more

I was staying at Hampton Inn and the front desk gave me a Peking House menu. He said it was really good and they always deliver. We called the restaurant. The woman was rude and she said they don't deliver. Ok. I called back to place an order for pick up she then asked if I had a car and if I was sure I was going to pick up my order?! I said yes but then decided not to order from this place. Because energy is everything., I told the front desk and he was in shock because he said he orders from there all the time. Anyway. Very disappointed when I got my food delivered. I placed an order for Orange Chicken, Lo Mein (plain), and Kung Pao Chicken, definitely wasn't what I expected after reading great reviews. Kung pao was way too dry and chewy. They battered the chicken, which I've never had before for Kung Pao Chicken..normally my Kung Pao Chicken is soft and nicely glazed with black bean sauce. The lo mein was soggy, not edible..and worst of all, the Orange chicken wasn't what I expected!!! I expected chunks of battered chicken nicely tossed in orange glaze but this was some weird thinly battered chicken and the orange sauce they gave me on the side to dip in wasn't good at all. Luckily, I don't live here and have better Chinese food at home in OC :) read more

Ordered delivery and my Egg Foo Young tasted like Egg Foo Dung. No flavor and I think the Shrimp were turning. Egg rolls were bland...Shrimp Toast, surprisingly not bad. Super great food! My sister and I wanted Chinese food and found this place on Yelp. Being risk-takers, we decided to order from Peking House. What a great risk this was! The food arrived in less than 20 minutes and was hot on arrival. We ordered two combination plates (General Tso's and Sesame Chicken) and both were delicious. The egg rolls included with the combination plates were also big and yummy. Overall a very good experience. Will order again! read more

Ordered chicken curry (pickup) got home and found chicken cashew. There was no sauce so it was dry and the pieces of chicken were very tough. I thought it was a day or two old and just re- heated. The people who deliver our great and fast but the food is could be a lot better and the woman answers the phone is the worst I've ever dealt with. She hangs up on you, she get your order wrong and never remembers chopsticks. What kind of Chinese restaurant does not give their customers chopsticks. I can only imagine she owns the place and that's why she's able to be so rude to customers on the phone. We love variety when ordering take out and for how (typically) cheap Chinese food tends to be we got A LOT. Everything was pretty Mediocre but the General tso's chicken was legitimately not good--huge pieces, chewy, not crispy at all. The sauce was so thick it almost looked slimy. The wonton soup--the only decent thing about it was broth. The wontons were huge and doughy with no filling and literally weighed a ton. Cheep, tasty, best bang for your buck kind of takeout. After all isn't that what we are looking for in a fast, easy, cheep Chinese take out?. No complaints from me at all. The only reason for 3 stars is that the food that you really would want to order is very limited. Not everything on the menu is going to be a second order but I'm sure one can find the dish that will soon be their usual. I always order the chicken and broccoli, chicken in cashews, kung pow chicken, general Taos, sesame chicken which are awesome. Service is good and they will make small portion orders if you ask them to which is nice. There are 4 tables that seat 4 at the place to sit and eat but you really wouldn't go here for the environment or for a experience. Lunch special is probably the worst. It doesn't even come with egg roll or soup! What type of Chinese take out is that?! The actually dishes aren't bad for takeout and they deliver quickly. Tried this place over the summer, and I've been back a bunch of times since! One of the best Chinese takeout places I've visited. The wonton soup is BY FAR the best I've ever had. I placed an order from this restaurant and when it was delivered it was completely wrong. I called back and let them know about the order and they told me that we couldn't return the food or cook the right order and if they did that all the time, "they would run out of business". I've worked at a restaurant for seven years and if someone ordered something they didn't want they would remake the entree they wanted, it's called customer service!!!! This place is highly lacking one of the core elements in running a proper business, I would absolutely never recommend to order food here! If your too cheap to satisfy the customer then what are you using to cook our food? I never had a problem like this at any restaurant. Please take my advice and run the other direction!!!! read more

They told me they couldn't because they were too busy. Keep in mind this is a weeknight around 8. I walked outside and took a look at the restaurant. My family normally orders from the same two Chinese food restaurants but since it was Christmas we decided to try somewhere new, that and because we had someone who could not eat MSG. We placed the order online at 6:32 PM, by 7:15 we had not heard anything so we called, they said they received our order. Then 7: 40 we called again and they say how it wasn't done yet and it would be a half an hour for pick up and another hour for delivery. Since it was Christmas we gave them the benefit of the doubt and decided to pick it up. By the time the food had been picked up it was 8:20, so it didn't really save much time. We began to sort through the bags when we find that we were missing a white rice, and a liter of hot and sour soup, when we called to get it rectified, they said it would be ANOTHER half an hour until it got there, I told the woman on this phone this was unacceptable and that I was going to leave the house and when I got there I would hope it would be there, as white rice and soup have very minimal preparation time. I get there and they apologize and tell me it had already put out for delivery. I walked out right then and there. I will never be ordering from here again. There are too many decent Chinese restaurants in the area for me to be wasting over 2 hours for dinner. read more
