This was my first time having a scallion pancake and I would go back just for that, it was so good! It's important to note when reading the reviews that this particular location has changed ownership a couple of times in last few years. Not sure when the current owners have had the location but we have taken out a couple of times and the food has been ok for take out Chinese. I went there on New Year's Eve to get food to go home with my boyfriend waited an hour got home the order was wrong and the food was ice cold we didn't get anything we got dumplings they must've not cooked them. the ribs were terrible would never go again, so I stopped back again picked up a soup egg roll there was no broccoli and soup. Have gone in several times with large parties to celebrate various occasions. The food has always been good. This last time we went in, the server got my order wrong- no big deal, it happens. When he told the woman who owns the place, she freaked out on him. I've never heard a person speak so abusively to their staff and at such a volume that our entire table could hear her. Unfortunately, we can't support a business that treats their employees like that and won't be returning. Based on some of the reviews I'm reading, it seems that many people have had unpleasant experiences fueled by the poorly behaved, disrespectful and unprofessional woman who owns the place so for that, one star. While Joy Chalet may be known for their sushi, they also have really good stir fry dishes! They are reasonable priced, delicious and well-portioned. I got the mala fried chicken, which was my favorite dish (the szechuan peppercorns were sooo good). We also ordered fried fish and a mushroom stirfry. Everything was really tasty! I ordered takeout miso soup, Alaska roll, and pad Thai. It was ok. The miso soup was not very flavorful and not salty, but it had a lot of seaweed and tofu pieces. The sushi was good, big chunks of fish and avocado. The wasabi was barely spicy, unfortunately. I slabbed a whole chunk on one sushi piece and it barely phased me. I specifically asked for the pad thai to NOT have mushrooms and when I opened it, I discovered huge pieces of mushrooms and there were many more underneath. Disappointed as I do not like mushrooms so I ended up throwing them away and it didn't leave me happy about the dish. The noodles were spicy and there were some peppers, baby corn, and onions mixed in. Not enough salt. Perhaps this dish isn't their specialty or they had an off day. There are some people who are allergic to mushrooms so they should be careful and read the instructions. When I came in to pick up the order, I asked if they had included utensils and the lady at the front desk said no, that she thought I was taking this home. Why would you assume that? This once was my favorite Asian restaurant in Bucks County. As of about 6 months, the food has gone down hill...fast! Both my dine-in and take out experiences have been the same. Ordered a Bento Box, if there was a teaspoon of dressing on my salad, that was a lot. When I asked for extra dressing on the side, I was give a small dish of watered down dressing. It was so thin and watery, it slid off the salad. The same could be said about the Sweet and Sour sauce...watered down! My beef and broccoli dish was brocolli with five pieces of beef. I understand the cost of food (among everything else) has gone up, but this is not the way to go. I'd gladly pay more money for better food. read more

I was craving sushi and I also wanted a restaurant that offers sit-in since the weather has been super hot lately. Luckily this place has that! I ordered the sushi combo A and B. The rolls are California, salmon with avocado, tuna with avocado, shrimp tempura. Shrimp and avocado, and eel roll I think. I like combo B over A. I also ordered the salmon specialty roll that has seaweed and caviar. I forgot the name but it was an appetizer and I really enjoyed that. It was different compared to anything I had before. For the entree, I got the honey cook pork which comes with some vegetables and Chinese prunes. It was very good. The pork was flavorful and tender. I also ordered the minced pork with glass noodles. I enjoyed it as well. I'm glad I can support local businesses during this time. I recommend this place. The service is good as well! read more

I really like this place. The shrimp with cashews, general chows shrimp, chow fun noodles, egg rolls, ribs, and dumplings are all delicious. This is not the place to find that exotic dish you tried on your business trip to Shanghai. It is all standard Chinese takeout stuff here but it is all thoughtfully, cleanly, and deliciously prepared. We get take out here a bunch and I have never had a meal I didn't like. I cannot speak to the sushi but the Chinese Food is wonderful. I highly recommend this place for Chinese takeout and will certainly order again, soon. read more

Damn! A little history...... I managed a Chinese Restaurant way back in the early 80s. It was a restaurant focused on both the food and the experience. The family I managed the restaurant were authentic, real and committed to their craft. Fast forward 30 years..... I had almost given up on finding good, quality Chinese food. I had almost made this a religious quest! By chance, a Yelp search yielded Joy! Yep, Joy..... Joy Chalet. Funny that that's their name. Now- crafting a truly quality Chinese dish requires timing.... you just don't add the broccoli with the shrimp...... nor do you keep the hot and sour soup on hold in a steam table! The best Chinese cuisine I have had in over 30 years- this is quality food! We just had one meal..... tomorrow is another day. Thinking ... This is by far the best Chinese place in the area. I had been hunting for a new place forever and none met the bar. They do all of my favorites just how I like them. The real seller is their won ton. Every other place is too oily or uses different dumplings. Theirs is by far the best. The interior looks amazing as well. We had take out but were able to check out the place and it was beautiful. They had great lights, decor on the wall and what looked like a private party room. The location also has a sushi bar. Definitely check it out when you're in the area. They offer both Chinese and Japanese and sushi. I can only speak for their Chinese, but I look forward to returning! read more

Great prices, everything was soooo delicious, so fresh and tasteful! Veggies crisp and not soggy. Brown sauce is absolutely divine! Crab rangoons are exceptionally scrumptious! I ordered take out. I got hunan duck and hot and sour soup. The soup is ant offensive, it just didn't have flavor or consistency. The duck, I'm sorry to say, made me sick to my stomach. It was swimming in oil, also lacked flavor, with a gelatinous and greasy skin that was inedible. I love duck but this turned my stomach so much that I don't think I could eat duck from anywhere for a while.
