BJ's Wholesale Club in Seekonk, MA used to be my go to BJ's Wholesale Club, but since the news of the Washington Bridge, I've been going to the BJ's Wholesale Club in Johnston, RI more often. However, since I was in the area I stopped by this location. Due to the fact that this location is in MA, beer, wine and liquor is also sold inside. There are plenty of parking spots. The gas station is connected to the wholesale club which makes it super convenient to get gas and items all in one stop. Staples, Hobby Lobby, Panera Bread, and Raising Cane's are within walking distance from BJ's Wholesale Club. The aisles order and items in BJ's Wholesale Club in Seekonk, MA is similar to other BJ's Wholesale Club. I recommend downloading the BJ's App. It is an easy way to clip coupons and find items in store. I even used the price checker function on the app a few times. It is very useful. This is my To Go BJ's when I am in Providence. It's gas station usually has the cheapest gas around and the store itself is very well lit, clean and well stocked. I was amazed to see that many home accent items this last time...things like bed sheets, kitchen towels, kitchen gadgets, home decor stuff. The prices usually are very competitive and they have many Clipless coupons that give you dollars off automatically at check out. They have returned to sample food items around the store, so you can try new things that you might end up buying. Great deals on paper goods, toothpaste, snacks, frozen items, and meat. read more

This is a typical BJs warehouse. It's clean, well kept and well lit. They have a huge variety of food options. This is your typical BJs!

In fairness to BJs, the manager was very responsive when my extensive efforts to reach him succeeded. However, I doubt that things will be better in the future short of my proactively seeking hIm out as he invited. The trouble began with having difficulty finding a push broom. The first employee from whom I asked for help suggested generally looking in the seasonal department. I did not find the broom there. I then saw an older man with a broom in his cart and thought that he might be a customer who might have found one. It turned out that he was a store cleaner. He got irate that I would ask for help. The first employee saw me again and commented that I had not found the broom but did not offer to help. I did not request or receive assistance during the rest of my shopping. There was one register open when I was ready to check out. Two women were checking out a large order, and there was an unattended huge hand truck massively loaded down behind them. The man who had it then came up with a few items more items. He could have graciously invited me to go before him, My subsequent checkout showed that I had 20 items. I asked the woman, who had a clear view of all this, at the customer service desk if another register could be opened. She said no. I confirmed later on that they could have opened another register. I also learned that the customer service rep., who literally was just standing behind the counter, could have checked me out. I then went to self-checkout. The subsequent insult to the injury there was later remembering that the clerk monitoring that area could have used a price gun to zap my items without my having to take them from the cart. Instead, she (like the customer service rep.) was just standing around. My challenges at the self-checkout included being directed mid checkout to remove scanned items from the bagging area because I had exceeded the maximum weight capacity. I did so only to have the register then scold me for not placing subsequent items in the bagging area. Despite my difficulties self checking out, the man with the hand truck was still halfway through his order being checked out when I left the store. The hits kept coming with the front-end supervisor to whom I spoke when the manager did not respond to numerous pages making the common comment that the self checkout is for people who are in too much of a rush to wait at the register. This is in contrast to the good ole days in which clerks would open a new register when needed and wave you over with a smile. The overall insult is that I believe that the customer service rep, and self-checkout clerk would have helped me if they had not concluded that my being a well-dressed guy in my 50s made me someone who was unworthy of help. In other words, I believe that they concluded just based on my appearance and politely asking to open a register that I was a male Karen whom they would refuse to help. I increasingly literally and figuratively walk away from businesses that are unduly aggravating. My total came to $275; roughly $150 of that was highly perishable items. If something like this occurs again, I simply will leave my cart and walk away with the subsequent loss of perishables. This is from this supposed monster who always returns perishables to their proper home and gives non-perishables to the checkout clerk (rather than leave them on a random shelf for an employee to reshelf) if I decide that I do not want them. The final note to this novella is that I had a highly similar experience at the University Whole Foods in Providence several months ago. If only for the karma, I always bring my cart back to the store or a carrel even in the most nasty weather. This time, I left my cart in a parking space in the lot in which parking was at a premium even though I easily could have returned it to the carrel or parked it on grass. read more

I have been to this BJs several time and have had issues with their beef. First time I bought a bunch to separate, seal, and freeze. Unfortunately when it thawed it was bad and had an obvious sour smell to it. This time I bought it to cook the next day and same thing. Awful smell so it is obviously the meat. I am a fan of the BJ's that has finally opened up in Seekonk, MA. In my opinion, BJ's beats out Sam's Club for a number of reasons: -- BOOZE. BOOZE. BOOZE - Sam's Club does not offer alcohol in their stores. I can usually find pretty decent deals on the wines and beers offered here. Around the holiday season, I bought a nice bottle of wine for $8, a champagne bottle w. glasses for $7, and a pack of Guinness on the cheap! -- Coupons! BJ's allows you to use manufacturer's coupons on your purchases. You cannot do this at Sam's Club. As an "extreme" couponer... I find this very helpful. -- Gas! This location has its own gas station that is located far enough away from the road that it is easy to line up and maneuver when it gets busy. There is such a wide variety of products here I can't even begin to describe it. Though I don't buy a large number of things here, there are enough things (like 3-packs of Silk soy milk, boxes of Baked Lays snacks, and plastic cartons of Pineapple) that I like to buy on the regular for it to be worth a visit. It's also great to go shopping with a partner so you can split some of the products too plentiful for one person. Check out is fast... definitely worth a visit. read more

So I need to find a new place to get my tires. I brought my wife's 2009 MINI Cooper to get new tires put on. The tech informed me that they were not able to "legally" work on my car because 1 of the 12 lugs was "completely stripped" and they couldn't get it off. They recommended I go to another shop, get the lug replaced and then come back. I work 2 jobs and don't want to spend my only time off waiting in smelly auto repair shops. If you are a tire shop, why are you not equipped to handle a problem like this. I'm sure I'm not the only person that has a lug that's stripped. But fine, whatever. Here's the kicker! I get the car back and take a look at the offending lug, which I couldn't find at first because it wasn't obvious. I get my locking pliers and WD-40 ready thinking it's gonna be a real project. When I find the lug I suspect is the offender, I take the factory lug wrench from my trunk and within 30 seconds I had the lug off and replaced. So I call the shop thinking they would tell me to come right down and they would get me right in since I had already been there and everything was paid for but no. They made another appointment for 3 hours from now. Thanks for wasting my time BJs Tire Shop. read more

Been going here since it opened up. Was familiar with shopping at the Dartmouth location so I had an idea of the place and was a Sam's Club member before as well. Don't waste your time gong to Blue Rhino and swapping your tank or let along buying one that is very expensive. Members and non members can fill up propane tanks for cheap. Prices vary. I give it 4 stars when I was told that my probes tank valve was mistaken for some crazy heroin burner then just some algae on the brass valve. Swapped the tank at blue rhino to get rid of it now. Gas....i will go here maybe once every 2 months to fill up my tank on the lease but not my other vehicle. Right now we have 2 stations that one is a penny more and one is 2 cents less while being top tier. Gas is not all the same. Research it. Direct injection engines get dirty by gas like this. I go to my other stations to benefit me down the road. If you do get gas I see these long lines but the handles pull out to make it go on the other side of the car. App....the app is great. I scan my items in the cart and when I am ready it will tell me what coupons are availableci load them, I pay in the app, and I am out the door, no lines! Bakery is good and great prices. They use the same kids stuff other store use and the stuff taste good. Food... Food is food ,great prices. You will get to know who is who, but you will have someone ask about your home improvements are you looking to do.I always tell them I live in an apartment and they usually fist bump me and say me too.....though I have a home.....harrassment I say. read more

I have shopped here for many years for all my needs. It's a great place to stock up for the next winter months! I greatly appreciate the organization of the store . Bjs offers everything from great reads to tv's and all your grocery needs. I love the convenience of location close to me and the staff are friendly and helpful . I always shop for my kids and for my job to stock up on snacks and supplies. Love the quarterly coupons! They are always a big help. I love self service registers to get out quicker! Very unorganized and out of a lot of products due to covid, however customer service is terrible. I found 1 of the 6 items I needed. Decided to get even though I was tempted to just leave. Headed up front to use restroom before checking out and customer service supervisor/glorified cashier on a power trip yells at me for not staying in line. I'm not 5. Don't treat me like I am and I pay to shop here, otherwise I wouldn't return. Ever. I told him I was using the restroom and then I would return to the line like a sheep. Used restroom. No line. Walked down to express and some other employee on a power trip makes a comment. I just ignored her, asked cashier for carton of cigarettes. Paid for both items and left. This is usually a friendly store too. Not anymore. They also have aisles blocked off and if there's ever a fire there could be a serious problem, will be emailing seekonk FD. Can't really recommend right now. Shopped there before Covid. Wasn't bad but nothing to write home about. Food demo people were either rude or very pushy. Total turn off. I really can't believe how much simpler BJ's makes life. I still won't go near the food, but for buying bulk paper products, cleaning products and a few grooming essentials, BJ's can't be beat. Oh, and the fact that they have a wine & beer shop within the building is just a cherry on top. I can't really say this BJ's is any different from the others in the area aside from the fact that the liquor section is really its own shop -- you even pay for it separately thanks to those cool Puritan Blue Laws MA still has in place. Same wonderful club discounts, coupon books and very clean space... The parking lot is its own hazard (really, people? Get a grip!), but that's not specific to BJ's so whatever. read more

If you are looking for a place with rude employees and rude managers then you should shop here. Very dissatisfied with the way I was treated by a few managers and even coworkers. Names are Jen, Cindy, Karen, Tim, Kyoko, and Nick, all people that had nothing better to do than to just be rude and disrespectful to me. They favorite certain people and treat others bad that are not close with or related. They have also said very rude words to me several times and I do not recommend shopping here or for that matter, working here. This company does not deserve any workers that work hard just to be treated bad in the end. The manager Jen acts cocky and acts like she knows everything and smirks when she gets her way. Cindy is a very rude older person that screams in peoples faces and is rude to people over the radio. Karen is a very useless manager and does not actively help people when they need help, she even will just ignore you cause she's that rude of a person. Tim, the GM, was very useless. He never helps out when a member needs help or when a worker needs him. He does not do a thing and he is lazy, I have heard several complaints about him not being a good GM. Kyoko is very rude to members as well as employees. She slams bins around and is very nasty on the radio to people. She also makes up lies and gets people in trouble. Nick is very very rude to people as well and yells in peoples faces. He acts like he knows it all just because he is in the military. Everyone that had power, just used that power way too much and made working there enjoyable. Don't go on a Sunday afternoon, parking lot is a hot mess. No one is on floor to help you find anything and the cashiers are miserable even though they only opened hours earlier. I get we have a lot of stuff 2 carriages full but we come 1-2 times a month an spend $500-800 for a school so the least you can do is smile and not be smug at end and just say what we've saved. Everything is in bulk which is good and convenient when stocking up but things get costly if you don't compare prices and make sure to go with a list. This bj's sells liquor too just in front of store to right and fresh fruit/meat in back of store. Always check dates on fresh food and use within 3-5 days or freeze. I had avoided joining Sam's Club because I figured there was no need to join a warehouse club for just two people. When BJ's came to town I decided to give it a try and huzzah, I'm a believer! BJ's is bright, clean, spacious, and easy to find what you're looking for. My wife laughs because I seem to find every reason in the world to make trips there. I used to buy the four-pack of Monster drinks at Target...now I can buy a 24 pack! Paper towels! Chobani! They even sell beer and wine which is pretty darn fantastic. They even have a gas station. They even have lots of samples to try on the weekends. They even...well, just go there and find out for yourself! I just have to find some reason to buy the two pound can of baked beans. For a membership club, the place has it's good and bad. Compared to SAMs club, I think BJs costs more, has less selection, and has inferior products. Compared to Shaws or Stop and Shop, much the opposite can be said. I'll run down a few things that I buy over and over. Apples! SAMs has beautiful Ambrosia and Honeycrisp apples. A half dozen varieties at least. BJs doesn't. They have Motts apples and others but they are like little lunch apples. Motts, Dole, Green Giant. All National brands. Their meat market is half the size of SAMs and they sell a lot of individual cryo meats. They offer more choices of small farm products. SAMs has none. The rotisserie offers the same Perdue chickens and all natural chickens that are a little smaller and $1 more. BJs has a deli! SAMs doesn't. I'll wait in line every time I go to BJs to save 30 to 40 percent off Shaws prices on Dietson & Watson deli. I also pick up three different kinds of refrigerator pickles there. SAMs has none. Desserts are better. Their Berkley & Jensen brand cakes are top notch. The mousse cake, tiramisu, tiger and tuxedo truffles are excellent and you can get a very nice cake for under $15. They have pizzelas, Lacey cookies, and big chocolate chunk cookies. In the freezer aisle, they have Starbucks ice cream. The mocha chocolate chip is very good. They also carry another brand, Talenti Gelato. The sea salt caramel is the best packaged ice cream I have ever had. BJs sells beer and wine, and they sell gas for 2 cents less than the Hess Express across the street. Neither is a real bargain. I don't think there is enough profit in either to wiggle. There are good reasons to shell out $50 for a membership card, but I won't give up my SAMs card unless their meat, dairy, and produce improves their quality and price. If you think about it. I save $15 a week over Shaws on a couple pounds of cold cuts and a pound of cheese. In a year, that's $720 a year I save, just on deli. That pays my $50 membership with $670 in my pocket. Paying out another $50 at SAMs club, I save even more. I go for meat, especially hamburger, American cheese, milk, eggs, fruits and vegetables, and bread. Best value for your dollar. Land O Lakes skim milk - $2.50 a gallon and never had a bad one. Many more items for families as opposed to resellers. So far they don't seem to be moving things around the store. I know where things are. Sams is constantly relocating things. Love the self serve registers. Just make sure you don't get stuff jammed up at the end. I usually grab a second carriage and empty the end off every now and then. The self serve will even take a split payment cash and credit. read more

I'm not a fan of "big box" stores, but I find that BJ's carries premium brands and organic produce. I have made BJ's a permanent part of my weekend shopping. The refrigerated ravioli and frozen stuffed cabbage were both great finds that surprised me with the quality and great taste. I switched to BJ's from Sam's Club because I got a super low membership deal through my job and I've been happy with the decision. I have pretty limited use for wholesale clubs because it is just me and my hubby. I typically only buy paper towels, toilet paper and toiletries that are easily purchased in bulk. What I like about BJs is that there are a lot of food options that can accommodate two people. The prices are absolutely higher than Sam's Club (a few dollars on most items), but not significantly so and they do have lots of coupons for pretty much everything that they regularly send out if you are into that sort of thing. The biggest reasons I'll keep my membership going are (drum-roll please).... (1) Gas. The gas prices are out of this world. I get 93 grade for both of my vehicles and the prices are the best anywhere in the area by a country mile. (2) Even on weekends, it is not nearly as crowded as Sam's and I love the self-checkout lanes. (3) Beer and wine! They only started with beer and wine in late November/early December and I almost wept with joy when I made this delightful discovery. They carry solid wines in every varietal and most major beers. Have been coming here ever since Sam's Club closed. They are pretty much the same. I will say BJ's does have more variety and their deli and foods is of better quality. Also I love the gas station and the discounted gas prices. This BJ's also has a beer and wine store inside run by an independent company. Have not bought alcohol there but they seem busy. The only problem I encounter is the staff. Usually no one is ever in the isles and when you go to the front they can't be bothered. read more

We are new to the northeast so we've never heard of BJ's Wholesale Club until we moved here. It's just like any other wholesaler, Sam's or Costco, there isn't much to standout compared to the others. I'm not sure if it's just this locations or if it's standard to all BJ's but the deli section here is always packed there are usually some long lines. I really like the produce here, bright colors, fresh and have been tasty. I also like how even though you have to go to a liquor store to buy wine or beer in RI and MA at BJ's you can purchase wine and beer in the store in a separate fenced off section. If you own a business like I do this is a perfect place to buy in bulk, that being said Hope you enjoy playing Jenga! Loading this on a flat bed and making sure it doesn't topple over on the way out is near to impossible. The cashiers do the best they can but some are better at stacking than others. The prices I find to be the same as other bulk stores but I do enjoy the produce and food departments. I feel they have more to offer than other stores! We left sam's to join BJ's a couple of years ago. We were members for a few months before sam's completely closed down and everyone swarmed to BJ's. Th is was a great place to shop but now the place is slamming with people looking for their 50 lbs bags of rice. Other than the huge lines at check out and the register lights flashing like a weekend rave (it seems everyone has an issue at self check out), the prices are good and there is good selection. We have a credit card through BJ's which gives us an additional 5 cents off per gallon of gas. They also do promotions around Thanksgiving where if you buy in store first, you can get even more of a discount on gas. Don't try getting gas on a weekend around noon, it's like sitting in traffic on 95 North heading to Providence during Comicon . They do have a tire center and a propane refill center which is really convenient. I like BJ's... But what guy wouldn't? ;) read more

As I entered BJ's Wholesale Club I was astonished. It is very clean in there. I got asked if I need help finding something and I did. I couldn't find the tampons. (my wife has a heavy flow) I had a very pleasant experience and while checking out the cashier, I believe it was Tyler R, was a very nice lad. He was very quick and very good at putting everything back in the carriage. He was funny, and had good manners. I will definitely be returning to BJ's in the near future and will recommend this store to my pals at work. Huge thumbs up!!! read more
