For my first time trying this place I would have to give it a three star. Also keep in mind they will give you 4% if you pay cash. Alexis was our server on a Friday afternoon, she was friendly. We just made it before happy hour was over so my boyfriend and I took advantage of it we decided to try their house wine and he had a beer. Definitely a good deal and we would definitely come back for that! Plenty of parking in the plaza. For our meals, I went with the fish & chips. The fish was huge and surprisingly very tasty. My first thought about the chips or their fries was that they weren't many but it turned out to be a great portion. I would definitely get it again. My boyfriend got the chicken buffalo sandwich and it was a little disappointing there wasn't any buffalo sauce on it, we had to get a side of the sauce and it wasn't the same. My son got the Philly cheesesteak and he enjoyed it. They have a code to scan to sign up for their texts and you will get a free beverage however I didn't think it was worth it, it's just a fountain drink. I guess better than nothing right! Going downhill quickly, in my opinion. They took a couple of favorites off the menu (clam strips and steak tacos), and the fish and chips I had for lunch was really not tasty to me. The batter fell off the fish instantly, and the taste was bland. read more

I am a regular, probably 2-3 times a month. Last night was a low on food quality. I ordered red beans and rice, and conch fritters. The rice was so under cooked that there were hand kernels that could have broken a tooth. The fritters were very chewy. This is not what I have come to expect. Went to this location tonight, which has an amazing bartender (Nick), who's always been nice and fair. But Jesse decided to make everything personal and treat us with disrespect. He's engaged to a bartender from Stevie's, so he was rude to us, bc we no longer have ties with that bar. I made mention he shouldn't make things personal, so he decides to ban us. Not a loss, but we will be contacting our attorney for discrimination rights. This place is known for it, along with Stevie Tomatoes. AND to top it off, they added a tip to our check that we never authorized. So, add stealing to the complaint. This place had both good and bad things.... like cold beer .... but a not so good grilled fish. The grill fish lacked flavor and had no seasoning. On the other hand, chicken wings were really good and juicy. We had the Atomic which are spicy but not crazy hot. Also the jersey wings nicely seasoned and again cooked perfectly. So my recommendation is... stick to bar food such as fried calamari, wings, loaded potatoes and you will probably be okay. Service was a little slow because there was only one server but we were not on any rush so that didn't bother us.... but something to consider if you are on a tight on time. read more

Added ghost cheese My husband had the grouper sandwich and added ghost cheese. The last two times we were at Pelican Larry's, to eat chicken wings, has been horrible. We requested that our wings be crispy. Both times they were not crispy. The chicken skin is like rubber. We had to pull the skin off to be able to eat them. When the waitress delivered our dinner, we told her they were not crispy as we requested. She didn't offer to take them back to the kitchen She apologized and walked away. When she returned to ask if she could take our plates and glasses away. She did take my 5 wings off of the bill. Day shift and bartenders ARE THE BEST. Night shift are less than great. Happy Hour specials are hard to figure out. Mostly as nobody seems to know what they are. Their are signs for .99 wings, but told no longer. Happy hour ends at 5:00. (NOT 6:00 but it could change.) BOGO on draft beers and 1/2 appetizers seems to be the current offering. Which is pretty good IMHO. I've been to this place a few times now. Wings are very good, my fav is parm garlic - crispy in a garlic oil just covered in freshed shaved parm. Peel and eat shrimp is a SW FL classic, be sure to get extra horseradish. They fresh shuck oysters behind the bar, so that gives them "Raw" stuff to sell. I had the Conch soup, and it's Jamaican style. I can see others liking it just not for me. The lobster & crab roll is pretty good. It's like a super sized crispy egg rolled stuffed with seafood salad and big pieces of king crab -I'll be having that again. (I'm sure it's the fake crab just still very tasty.) I'll keep working thru the menu but right now my "go-to" item is grouper tacos. I'm a sucker for that dish. As a beer drinker I like the fact that they have $3 Larry Brews - an Ale, Lager and a Orange. $3 all day. I like the lager - I'm pretty sure it's just some off brand Ambev draft beer like Natural Light or Bush Light and the orange is most likely Shock Top- but for $3 a pint - it's a steal!!! Service before 5:00 is THE BEST. I can't say the post 5pm crew is good. I've only been there after 5 twice now and found rude and short tempered bartenders. I used to love this place. It is going down the drain. Last 3 visits always poor service. People standing around 3 servers talking to eachother for 10 min. I go ask where I can sit to get service. I was at bar. Bartender standing in pool room watching TV. They finally get someone to bar.... there is apparently no management here. Its sat 5:00 pm. Husband orders beer. Kegs out. Orders a different beer kegs out. How do they get thru sat night it has t even started? No one goes ro change kegs... but they are all busy having fun. I order aperol spritz like i always do. Bartender says they dont serve those. I said since when? He says he dont know. He is halfway new but they dont serve them. I said well, i always get them, go ask someone. Low and behold, they have aperol in the well. He said they dont have aperol. He makes it with 3/4 glass aperol and soda water. I watched him. I tell him how to make it he goes back dumps some out of glass and adds a little champagne (flat). Then we order potato skins. They dont have them tonite? He asked if we wanted anything else. I said no, we came for potato skins. He said others came in and left for same reason. What is going on here? Very disappointed! Not coming back. The bartender did end up comping the 2 drinks. The server/bartender was ok with the move. Got great service at the bar. Another time I visited the outdoor bar. Quick service as soon as I sat myself at the bar on a Wednesday night. This place has delicious, ice cold oysters and peel and eat shrimp. Snow crab legs are a big winner!!
