Everything about the place is good! The food is wonderful, the place is clean and the service e it too notch

When this place opened it was absolutely awsome. I would order the fried mushrooms and they were fresh. They still were bright white in the middle and had they fresh bite to them. This time they were dark grey to black and rubbery. The chicken and sausage gumbo flavor was ok but the chicken was rubbery and tough like it was reheated on too many times.We ordered the boudine egg rolls and they came out cold. Those had to be remade and the mushrooms,we got removed from thr check.The floors were sticky and the waitress essentially abandoned us. I am sorely disappointed in this place since I talked it up to my co-worker who came in from out of town. They certainly made a lasting impression on her. Unfortunately, in this area this is just another place that does good for a few months and takes a nose dive. read more

They have consistently good food. Their manager Brandon is great at service and checks on the customers as well. I do wish that they had a teacher discount though. All things considered, it is a great place for Cajun food. read more

Today makes 3 times we've tried to eat here and we never get in. It's crowded and that's great, but the hostess never even greeted us. Never even said " I'll be with you in a moment" or anything. Just ignored. Three times. On our way out we asked ourselves why we keep trying! The first time we ate there was fun and the food was okay, but we ate outside and it smelled like the zoo. The pound is nearby and it stunk so bad. Our waitress acted out out to have to wait on us.. I don't think we will be back. read more

Cajun food is one of my absolute favorites! So my husband drove me to Lufkin for us to finally try Pelican Pointe. We ordered the crawfish queso for an appetizer. The queso reminded me of the kind from the jar at the grocery store with a little seasoning added and about 4-5 pieces of crawfish. We waited for 45 minutes for our food. My husband ordered the LOUISIANA TRIPLE CATCH- "Fried fish and shrimp, served with a cup of crawfish étouffée, house fries and a hush puppy". He enjoyed the shrimp, but that's about it. The fried fish was over cooked to the point that the ends of the fish pulled away from the thick breading and dried out. The hush puppy had a good flavor but were doughy in the middle. I ordered a bowl of crawfish étouffée and the crawfish cornbread (based on the suggestion of the waitress). The crawfish étouffée appeared to be made from a light roux and a lot of chicken broth. There was not much actual crawfish meat, so that was very disappointing. The crawfish cornbread was really sweet and the pieces of crawfish meat were very rubbery. I took one bite and set it off to the side. Our waitress did not check on us after we got our meals for 20 minutes, when we were basically done eating. We were never asked how the food was, if we needed anything or why the $4 cornbread was basically untouched. We finished up our meal by ordering Beignets- "Fluffy and Light, fried to a light crisp, and dusted with sweet confectioners sugar" They were decent but not as light and fluffy as beignets are traditionally. Excellent food the crab legs and boudin egg rolls are great.the catfish and shrimp boiled and fried are also delicious. Selections of homemade hamburgers,crawfish boiled in separate room, crawfish etouffee delicious and many more selections to choose from. Also liqueur is served.Oh I forgot the best bread Pudding in the world,fried mushrooms,crab cakes,devils on horseback,gator on a stick,seafood kickers waiting time was 1 hr changed hrs less waiting time.Come and enjoy you will be glad. read more

We ordered several things - the pork chop, gumbo, dirty rice and the seafood palermo (seafood lasagna) and everything tasted great.

Didn't care for this place at all. We ordered oysters on the half shell, and they were NOT fresh. They were oysters out of a can that they had placed on some saved shells. Ugh!!! Who does that??? We also tried the Boudin eggrolls, which were just OK. My husband got a steak and he said it was terrible. Super expensive and really bad food. Too bad tho - cuz the property is nice and they have very nice waitstaff. But no matter..... We won't be back. read more

If you want to pay 90 dollars for dishes you can get at long John silvers this is the place for you . The "Catfish" filets where so small they look like it was a goldfish filet . My shrimp were legit bigger than my gf and her moms catfish filets lol The gumbo had so much oil on top that you could put some in a skillet and have enough for fry an egg . Then I had a bowl of 20 dollar shrimp Alfredo that was also super oily and barely enough to fill a small child . Get the same thing at red lobster for 12 bucks . The beer was flat , couldn't get a refill on my tea after it sat there empty for 20 mins . Don't waste your time . Just go on down to red lobster , juanitas or something else . read more

I love this place! I don't go as often as I would like. The shrimp & grits is the best around town. I have tried them everywhere. Very flavorful! Whatever this place has to do to keep the cook, they need to do! If they had more keto friendly choices, I would go a lot more. read more

It's hard to find good Cajun food outside of south Louisiana, but Pelican Pointe nails it! Everything we ate was worth recommending; the presentation was on point, the food had great flavor and just the right amount of seasoning. Treat yourself to the Gator Bites, you'll be so glad you did. The service was excellent and the atmosphere immediately transported us to Cajun Country with the festival posters & french sayings on the walls around us. 2 pm on a Saturday and it took almost 5 minutes for our server to visit our table. A couple who were seated after us had already received drinks and an appetizer. Food was just ok. Crawfish queso had a miniscule amount of meat and the 'toast' served was slightly warm and slathered in butter. I had the ragin rooster. Chicken was over cooked. The sauce was good just overpowered the dish. I did not like the green beans- slightly sweet - but they were cooked just right. Our server once he got to us was attentive and very nice. The server did have a large table so was just possibly overwhelmed. The management should train the hostesses to help with drinks at least. The 2 hostesses were not that busy when we arrived. read more

We went for lunch today and it may be my last time!!!!! We have given this place 3 or 4 chances and somethings have been wrong each time. Today the orders were screwed up when they finally got out. Both paste dishes tasted like canned or warmed over dishes. The quality was really poor. One appetizer had over cooked bacon wraps and under cooked Shimp. Service was okay however the server was very frustrated with the kitchen staff. read more

Excellent service - very good food! Our server was terrific - we had the redfish dinner and the fried fish combination platter. Both were ample portions and delicious. Don't miss the hush puppies - we could have eaten a dozen of them! There is plenty of outdoor seating. Mixed review. First visit had me longing for a second plate of potatoes. Those potatoes are on a dime. The steak was cooked to order but could use some more seasoning. The shrimp was a strong point and went well with the steak. After the second visit I can definitely say fried chicken isn't a strong point. The hush puppies could use some help. Service was fairly good and wait times were average. The pork chop is definitely worth trying. read more
