Pro tip there is a huge amount of road construction around the restaurant so plan accordingly. We were greeted and sat promptly. Karen our server came and greeted us and got our drink order. I went to the restroom, it was clean but in need of a cosmetic upgrade. The restaurant itself was clean and had a Louisiana feel. My wife ordered the Salmon med rare, and she said it was excellent. I ordered the shrimp quesadillas and I was impressed by the buttered flavor of the flour tortilla that was crispy on the edges. I also was pleased with the amount of shrimp and cheese. The guacamole and the pico were fresh and tasty. For appetizers tried the Pistolette and were not overly impressed. The Boudin Balls and sauce were very good. I think they could have been a little spicier, but they were great. The bread pudding was just average in my opinion, but my wife loved it. My wife and I agreed that this will be one our go to stops when driving through Lufkin.

The hush puppies are decent with some garlic butter you might want to dive into like it's the Summer Olympic swimming relays. The music and atmosphere was nice & festive. The booths are comfortable & being solo, the 2 person sized ones were perfect for me. Lufkin has a mainstay that most towns would be jealous to have. Come eat here & leave satisfied. A group of two of my friends and I went in tonight and were seated in a server's section (we later learned her name was Jenna), but she refused to take our table. We overheard her conversation with another server about not wanting to serve us. We were instead seated with Jennifer and had an AMAZING experience. Jennifer was attentive, kind, and made our experience worthwhile. The food was GREAT. We got 3lbs of regular crawfish and a kid's pizza. Everything was reasonably priced and we overall had a great experience once we were placed with Jennifer!

And then the King Trio: King crab legs, Dungeness clusters, shrimp, potatoes, and corn. There was a great amount of King crab, and we added an extra Dungeness cluster, so it was definitely plenty of food. We were able to sit wherever we liked, and our waitress came by within about 30 seconds. She was super sweet, took our drink order right away, and returned promptly to take our meal order. The breakfast rush was still in full swing, but everything seemed to be running smoothly, and there were clearly plenty of regulars. Our food arrived in about five minutes, which was great. I got the three eggs and bacon with grits and biscuits. The eggs were scrambled just like I asked, the bacon was on the hard side, and the grits were pretty plain--but once I fixed them up, they were fine. The biscuits were delicious. My wife ordered the two eggs and bacon with hash browns and toast. They forgot to add the cheese she requested in her eggs, and her bacon was also pretty hard, but she enjoyed the hash browns and toast since both were cooked well. All in all, it's a solid spot for a quick breakfast, and we'll definitely give them another try--especially since it's close by and has a warm, inviting feel.
