Light, smooth, a touch of pineapple, and dangerously easy to drink. After that I grabbed an Unruly Amber Ale. That one hit me with toasted malt, a little caramel, and enough bite to wake up my taste buds. Solid beer. No notes. For food I went with the Smokey Black Bean panini and wow it surprised me. Smokey, a little spicy, and packed with flavor. The chipotle ranch ties the whole thing together. Plus they give you hummus and chips on the side, so you feel like you're snacking and eating a whole meal at the same time. Win. The vibe here is great. Indoor seating, outdoor seating, people just chilling, dogs hanging out, locals talking like everyone knows everyone. Super easy to relax here. Overall, Pareidolia just gets it. Nancy, the bartender and proprietor, is the kind of host every small tavern dreams of. She came back with the same drink and said the bar said "its because I skipped the OJ" ?? Well that would make it taste like sour and OJ wouldnt it? It still wouldnt taste like Tequila because there was none in it. Tje poor server agreed with me and apologized. She also said management will not let them freepour anymore and they are mandated to use jiggers. She said there had been several complaints about drink quality. I left the full drink , minus 3 tastings , on the table. Not only didnt they remake it, they charged me for it. The CC of the business name is Cindy Carlson. On the night we visited, the small bar quickly filled up with people greeting each other by name with hugs. My friend and I sat at a high top but you could also seat your self at the bar, on the couch, or in one of the comfortable chairs. There is also a patio area out front if you prefer to sit outside. We had a great time hanging out sipping on a couple of glasses of wine while enjoying the live music. My friend ordered a delicious looking meatball marinara flat bread. All of the items are made from scratch. I saw some of the other patrons enjoying delicious looking cheese plates, charcuterie boards, and fish dip. We had to walk out of the way since a dog that was a size of a horse was sprawled out on the floor. Our table was absolutely disgusting! It was dirty and sticky and the coasting of shellac had apparently gotten melted and was sticky and black. Even the seat was dirty and I ended up whipping away pieces of paper on my seat with my hands. Everything including my arms stuck to the table. It took awhile for a very young person with zero personality come to take our order. We gave him a drink and appetizer order. I was attempting to forget about how disgusting the table and the large dog was with the view. The drink that didn't have enough ice although I requested a tall glass with lots of ice arrived with the appetizer. It was good despite being served with greasy fried saltines. When I attempted to start eating a very large Woodstork was fishing on the rocks when the people with the large dog started throwing crackers at it..despite signs everywhere not to feed the birds. It then came up to the window and came too close for me to eat since it was eyeing our food. My husband sat still, told me to do so as well and was holding a knife should it attack. After 15 minutes it finally went away. Now our food was cold. We complained to the waiter but all he could offer was, "Thank you for telling me." No offer to relocate. Our main meals came. Both of our fish were way overcooked. Mine was dry and not edible. My husband's was dry but he didn't complain since my birthday dinner was basically ruined anyway. Forget the dessert I just wanted out of that dirty sticky area. So sad! I will have to find somewhere else to take me and my family.
