Once again, I cannot say no of thr calling of delicious Pelicana chicken. They have yet to be touched! The crispy, juicy chicken takes the cake!

I absolutely enjoyed this place, it was super worth the hype and price. It's perhaps some of the most crispy chicken I've had in a while! I was so amazed at the batter, I was stunned lol. I had went late and yes it took about 15-20mins for the food to come out, but hey it was hot AND fresh, so I couldn't complain at all. The staff were amazing and helpful of the menu. The interior with the bar was a nice set up, an industrial modern set up, but not overdoing, I enjoyed it.

We normally go to the Pelicana to go on Potranco but this one was closer to where I was that day. Near UTSA. They cook it fresh and I took mine to go. I ordered 16 wings and a side of sweet potatoes. It was a wait but they make them fresh. I also had some pickled daikon too.

Always a great experience. Food, service and atmosphere are always on point. My favorite fried chicken in san antonio. You definitely need to try this place. I give this place 5 jalapeños out of 5

Wanted to try something new Food was good service was great The only reason I didn't give a five star was the chicken strips were dark meat instead of chicken breast I would go back

All around solid and new experience eating fried chicken. It's safe to say that I would probably eat fried chicken more frequently if it was prepared in the Pelicana fashion. I could never eat this much Popeye's or KFC without feeling sick afterwards, and I nearly finished a whole chicken to myself. Cuisine: 4/5. Ban-Ban was light and flavorful with the sauce. Beverages: They have beer, which beautifully compliments the fried chicken experience. Service: Super friendly. Super Texas. Much respect. Ambiance: Chill. Nothing to dislike. Say less.

If you are coming here for a limited time like a lunch, please consider the following: there is A LOT of standing around and not getting served. I have had times where I was sitting for a 20 minutes on my hour lunch before my order was even taken. But once served, everything does come out rather quick. The chicken is amazing. I always get the boneless chicken with sauce on the side because I fear the chicken getting soggy from the sauce. It's always made fresh to order (or so I think), so it can take time to come out, but usually not long. I also have the kimchi fried rice from time to time, and that is also delicious, but the chicken hits the spot! The cheeseballs, although insanely expensive, are nice, crispy, and soft all at once. Even the basic fries are crunchy and not the soggy type. There are usually TVs playing some kind of KPOP. I mean, it is a Korean fried chicken spot, so that's expected. I do wish there was something more sportsbar-like though. Maybe a game or two. It's relatively quiet during lunch, with just some background murmur. During dinner, it can be loud if you are sensitive to that. If you want to stop in for lunch and not on a time crunch, Pelicana is the way to go!

I love Korean fried chicken but the chicken flavors here were no good. The chicken itself was fried well. The sauces were all so sweet. We had original. Garlic. Snowing cheese. I prefer the flavors bonchon has to offer. Also the service was not good. The restaurant was nice and clean

Dining here is almost a birthday tradition now. Definitely love my best friends. Enjoyed some excellent Korean food for a pre-birthday meal at Pelicana, paired with a refreshing Japanese beer. The service was great, and the ttokbokki was especially delicious. As expected, though, it definitely brought the heat - reminding me that I can't take more than a few bites without reaching for some water.

Was craving fried chicken so wifey found us this place to try. Hadn't been back since it was a Mexican restaurant. Love how they've changed the decor. Food: 4/5 - We got the 1/2 chicken with sauces on the side to try. We got 3 sauces ( original, honey mustard and a hot and spicy). Also ordered a kimchi spam fried. Crispy chicken, delicious rice. Generous portions! Ambience: 4/5 - modern and eclectic decor which we loved. Comfy seating though tables are close. Service: 5:5 - Annie (sp?) was patient and guided us expertly through the menu and how to order and was attentive! Definitely will be back!

Earlier this week, we went to @pelicana_sa for dinner. Great chicken being offered for a year and a half now. Juan was our attentive server. We had the Original Fried Chicken with signature sauce (half order) and Original Fried Wings with honey soy sauce. 3 orders of pickled radish came with our order. Yum! I preferred the honey soy sauce because of the sweetness. We also had an order of Onion Rings. Perfectly crispy. We had extra wings to take home. Tummies happy! If you haven't tried, you should check them out!

Chicken was really good and crispy. We got the smokey hot chicken and it wasn't my favorite flavor but there were many options so I would probably try a different one next time. I also thought the fries were alright I didn't like the garlic sauce on top of it. They accidentally made extra cookie balls and gave us it for free which was really nice and it was really yummy. The service was great and it's open late and there was plenty of seating inside.

I've had Korean fried chicken done really well so I had an idea and kind of high expectations of this place. IRS near my job and on one of my routes home do I decided to place a to go order and try them out. I purchased the 9 piece crispy chicken wings, onion rings and pork dumplings (you won't find the dumplings on those delivery apps). The dumplings were good. The onion rings were decent - nice & crispy. I didn't purchase any sauce with my wings. I found the wings to be crispy and quite good. My only gripe is, I wish they would fry the flats a little harder. The drums were perfectly fried. My second trip, I tried the fries and they were ok. Overall, I liked the place and will definitely be returning.

The fried dumplings are good, too.

Yes they offer bone in chicken thighs and breasts.?

Yes thighs and breasts are part of their boneless varieties, but no, you don't get to choose white vs dark meat in your order.

What type of oil is used to fry chicken?

I got mine with a side of gravy and French fries. I got my food in great time. Considering the size of our group and the chaos of orders going on and all different times, I was impressed. The chicken was delicious. Very juicy, and the breading was perfect. There was a slight hint of heat to it, but it was not overpowering. Very delicious. I would recommend this place for sure. The service was great, my drink stayed full, and they did a spectacular job entertaining a large group. It was a little pricey, but not bad. I will definitely be back. Enjoy.

Arriving here during a Saturday evening in late March, we decided on eating here since Pluckers was…read morecrowded. Upon entering, we were worried that we'd meet the same fate as before as all the tables were filled and there was about 20-25 people in front of us. Fortunately we noticed a couple empty chairs at the bar and the bartender mentioned they were open. Counting our blessings we took em and started looking at the menus. As I'm browsing the menu, the girlfriend and I are intrigued by our surroundings as we saw plenty of tvs showing sports and a lot of music memorabilia on the walls. Made me think this is the kind of bar scene I would like to host at home if I had the space and $$$. But that's why we dine out at places like this. Back to the menu, I noticed a ton of beer taps so after browsing the menu, I decided on the hazy beer hug by Goose Island while the girlfriend ordered a spicy watermelon margarita. As an east coaster, I enjoy anything by Goose Island as they serve several types of beer where I used to live back in Northern VA. So I was happy sipping on it. The girlfriend enjoyed the margarita as it had the right amount of spice. She also mentioned she could hardly taste the booze in it; while this might be a complaint with some patrons, she prefers her cocktail this way. As for food, I decided on the Ultimate Burger with a side of broccoli and she ordered the Crispy Chicken sandwich with fries. The burger is fine; pretty tasty even. But the broccoli, definitely raw with only a brush of butter. It's obvious they did not microwave it in the bag long enough. We ordered a second side of broccoli; and same thing; raw with a slight butter glaze. They also gave me some fries with my burger; I'm not complaining about free fries but kind of odd they were thrown on the plate. Pretty rookie move there. Meanwhile, the crispy chicken sandwich was basic; good texture but not much flavor; could use more spices and flavors in the batter. Both dishes are pretty big so we were stuffed afterwards. I'd be open to returning to try other items or maybe if I'm in the mood for that burger. But definitely getting a different side with it.

First for the atmosphere, it's a really nice environment during the day and most weeknights but weekends it's very loud and lively. Which is fine, but it is advertised as a speakeasy, but I would say its more of a loud bar vibe on weekend evenings. For service, it's generally pretty fast! You can order either at the bar or they can come to you. We usually prefer grabbing a seat if we can and order through a server. Definitely reccomend that but you might have to come a bit earlier if it's a weekend evenings. Servers are usually nice and helpful. In terms of the drinks they are great but I'll say you have to be very specific of what you like. I'm pretty straight forward so usually get a Moscow mule, mojito, or their kiwi express! All are awesome! However, I did ask if they could do a porn star martini. Passion fruit, liqueur, not too hard I thought... but they couldn't make it. I asked if they could just make me something w passion fruit instead and was told I could not. Very odd and usually they will make me a drink if I ask for it.
