Spicy San Antonio bowl with egg
    Jim B.

I am currently watching my 305th Korean drama. I have fallen in love with Korean culture and constantly seek out Korean food in San Antonio.Gogi Street popped up on my maps app when I was leaving Gunn Nissan after getting my truck serviced. I decided to enjoy a drive and eat there. I didn't know what to expect, as this was touted on maps as being a "fusion" restaurant. But, I am adventurous if nothing else. Most of you know I will eat anything anyway, so why not try new concepts? One negative I will give about the location. It is a crowded little strip center with several stores and restaurants. There is not a lot of parking. I found a place pretty far away and walked over. When I was leaving, the lunch rush was winding down and there were plenty of spaces. I ordered cabbage kimchi because WHY NOT? I love kimchi. I was surprised how much they gave me. Even after eating leftovers for dinner, I have enough left to make kimchi pancakes tomorrow. It is very good kimchi. I don't know if they make it in house or have a good supplier. It doesn't really matter to me. I saw a photo of the cucumber kimchi on the screen with rotating slides. That looked amazing, as well. Next time. Something about the honey glazed eggrolls spoke to me, so I ordered them. I also ordered the regular-sized Spicy San Antonio bowl. When everything came out, I knew I couldn't eat it all. There was just so much food! I ate less than half of it, then packed the rest up, put it in a bag, and brought it home. In the store, everything tasted wonderful. But, heated up at home after being in the refrigerator for a few hours, it was so good that wonderful just doesn't express how fantastic it was. Somehow, all the flavors melded together the way lasagne does when you eat it warmed up the next day. Any way you look at it- it was super delicious and worth the drive. It may not have been authentic Korean food (half an avocado was sliced on top), but it definitely rates up there as a perfect comfort food. Fusion??? I guess I am down for that now!

Gogi street is the hidden of San Antonio. I was here for a work trip and ended up coming almost everyday. The sauce flavors are very rich with big proportions and it is a top tier teriyaki bowlesque restaurant if you love simple food. My favorite was the Gogi supreme: chicken and beef with rice and teriyaki mayo sauce and chili powder harmonizes together well. I also had the Bibimpbop which is similar flavors but with veggies to give it more color and a crunch. Service was fast and the workers are cool. I will most definitely miss this place and look forward to coming back next time. If you're not a fan of heavy sauce I would recommend asking for it light.

Food was amazing. So much flavor, and friendly staff! Service was quick, and the music was nice. Will be coming back, hidden gem! Really hefty portions also. Overall great experience.

If you are searching for a food truck experience that fuses Asian dishes with local spices, then look no further than Gogi Street. Although this is not exactly what we experienced in So. Korea, I could easily see this being a fan favorite at a local fair or fiesta. If this is why the word street is in their name, which resembles what you normally find in a street vendor, then it was not only clever, but spot on. With that said, the Gogi with veggies for me and the Hawaiian Chicken for wifey were very tasty. Add in the shrimp app and our overall experience was pleasant and worth a repeat future visit. The inside is small, a bit dark and lacks a bit of ambiance, but we were not expecting a white table cloth type of thing so it was not an issue for us. The food was reasonably priced, had huge portions and came out quickly, so kudos to the staff.

The food here is really good with nice, big portions that definitely fill you up. Some of the dishes were a little on the salty side, but overall everything tasted great. I'd still recommend giving this place a good flavor, generous servings, and worth the visit.

Gogi Street is an interesting Korean-Fusion concept. The inside is on the small and cozy side but service is quick and easy at the register. I have been here twice and during my last visit, I got the *Spicy San Antonio and realized that they DROWN the bowls here in sauce which can either be an amazing or a bad thing depending on your personal preference. I like sauce but it was a bit much for me so I opted for the *KBBQ Beef Bowl (~$12 after tax) this time. I was also not too big of a fan of this as the beef was kinda chewy. The sauce wasn't what I was expecting here because I'm used to traditional KBBQ flavors. I give Gogi Street 4 stars as my friends really enjoyed their *Kimchi Fries and the *Spicy Hawaiian. The portion sizes here are also very generous and affordably priced. Personally, Gogi Street isn't for me but if you would like to be introduced to Korean food for an affordable price I would recommend giving this restaurant a visit!

Great! Tasty! Quick service. Fair prices. Generous portion of meat in dish. Popular on a Saturday evening with a long line. (Music too loud- therefore only 4 stars)

This place has been on my wishlist. One Saturday night when I didn't have any plans but to order take and watch my bravo shows, this place came to mind. I came a couple minutes before closing worried I would get "the look" bc everyone wants to clock out and go home, as they should. To my surprise they greeting me with smiles and a great attitude. After browsing the menu I decided on the kimchi fries. Let me tell you, they will load up that to go box! Full of flavor! Crisp kimchi. Tender meat. A fried egg on top and an overall great mix of umami flavors! I can't wait to come back and try more items off the menu.

    Soo much food for $10.
    Amy H.

Loved it! The food is affordable and they give you an ample amount. We came 30 minutes before closing and our food came out in about 5 minutes! Fast and friendly service! We ordered the kimchi fries with beef ($1.00 extra) but they aren't skimpy on the portion! It was flavorful and reminded me of bbq and chili cheese fries had a baby! We also tried the beef and chicken combo bowl. They gave us a healthy portion of meat and it was a sweet doy glaze flavor. The rice was DOUSED in the sauce which we enjoyed 9/10. The regular size is perfect for one person! Kimchi fries can be shared with 3 or 4 people to be honest and it was only $12 dollars! I will be back!

This place is a hidden gem. If you are into Asian fusion restaurants you should try this restaurant. I ordered the spicy Alamo with beef only and a fried egg on top. The flavor is great. Large food proportion. I'll be returning.

Wish I had found this place sooner. The best Korean fusion ever. You order at the counter then they call your name - it's very relaxed and perfect for lunchtime!

They are great with portion size and price. A bit heavy on the sauces. Although I prefer "stuffed". This gogi isnt quite as good as the one in Houston from my experience. But Still good tho

After stepping off the plane and spending hours running errands, I quickly became hungry. Back in Texas after a long absence, I decided to let friends and family choose where we should eat. They had never tried Korean BBQ and were eager to give it a taste. Although I've had Korean BBQ countless times, I was just along for the ride. We headed to Gogi Street, a small restaurant located in a center with a few other eateries, all of which were closed. Before diving into the details, it's important to note that this isn't your traditional Korean BBQ. The restaurant is owned and run by Mexicans who haven't tried all the common Korean BBQ dishes. There's nothing wrong with that; it's just different from what I'm used to. It has a unique Texas twist rather than a traditional Korean approach. The restaurant seats about 20 people, with no outdoor seating. Upon entering, I noticed that the menu and drink selection were limited, but that isn't always a bad thing. I let my group order first so I could take my time reviewing the menu. The person taking my order was very nice and welcoming, answering all my questions quickly. Even other customers offered a few suggestions. However, I had a confusing interaction with the server because he was opening a box of Korean corn dogs they were going to try for the first time. The restaurant was very clean and well-maintained. My group and I decided to get the Honey Glazed Egg Roll, Chicken Met Shrimp, Korean BBQ Beef, and the Gogi Street Supreme with drinks. This meal was interesting because I'm used to cooking the food over the fire at Korean BBQ places. However, not long after we ordered, our full meal was ready. Everything was hot and generously portioned. If you're visiting for a date night or a quick lunch, one meal can easily feed two people. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection, though it was overly sweet. The Chicken Met Shrimp featured crispy tempura shrimp, avocado chicken on a bed of jasmine rice. The Gogi Street Supreme included chicken and beef on jasmine rice, which paired well, but the avocado seemed out of place. The Korean BBQ Beef was a bowl of rice topped with beef in a Korean sweet sauce. The Honey Glazed Egg Roll might have been the best item, but it had too much glaze, making it a bit soggy. The salty egg roll paired well with the honey glaze, but the excess glaze took away from the needed crunch. Overall, I would return with different expectations. If you've never tried Korean BBQ, this is a perfect place for a first introduction to Korean food. However, if you're familiar with traditional Korean BBQ, this place might not meet all your expectations, not because the food isn't good, but because it might lack the items you're looking for. Hopefully, next time I visit, the staff will have tried more items, and there will be a greater variety of Korean drinks and other menu items.

The cornbread had a subtle sweetness that paired well with its flavor. I also liked how it had a waffle shape to it, very different. Love the outdoor seating and it must be really something in the evening with the light on. The menu is straightforward and we opted for the sandwich (piled with beef brisket, pulled pork, and sausage) and a 1/2 pound of pork ribs. We enjoyed the slaw, pickles, and onions on the side with the molasses BBQ sauce. WoW! The brisket was tender, juicy, and the perfect amount of fat for me. The pork was substantive, not mushy or overcooked. I loved the snap of the sausage skin, but the sausage itself did not win me over. My husband loved it, so there's nothing wrong with the sausage, just not my favorite. The ribs are killer big fat bones with slabs of meat with such rich porkiness, lightly smoky, and a bit of pull on the bone. Divine. The slaw was simple but refreshing, being neither too drenched in dressing nor too sweet which are my usual complaints about slaw. The pickles were fantastic spicy bites that really brighten up a meat-heavy meal and bring out the flavors. We only tried the molasses sauce, but it was really super. It won't replace the one i make at home, but i definitely liked it. Service was super! From ordering to paying, everyone is friendly and helpful. This joint is definitely on our list to visit again next time we are in San Antonio.
