I stopped by this new place on Broadway in Alamo Heights because I read great things about it. There's very little parking in front of the restaurant and just a little parking space in the back. It shares parking with a few other businesses so parking was difficult to find. The place is small but with a welcoming vibe. I ordered the wings and coleslaw. Service was friendly and fast which I liked. The wings were ok but I loved the flavor of the coleslaw. This place has a healthy selection of beers and wines in addition to a wine club. Apparently they are having comedy events as well which I will likely return to check out.

Yummy chicken counter service restaurant with both fried and roasted chicken options. We tried the family chicken tender meal which comes with rice, your choice of two sides, and pickles. The sides we chose were the fries and the kale slaw at the cashier/cook's recommendation. The sauces they have are also very unique - one spicy, one citrus, and one tamarind. The chicken itself is seasoned really well and we were surprised at how unique and tasty everything was. Great spot to try something new outside of your usual chicken tenders. Inside is nicely decorated with plenty of seating.

We love Thai Bird! We've been to both locations, but the Alamo Heights location is our favorite. The owner is wonderful and very friendly to answer any questions you may have about the menu. My SIL is gluten and dairy free - and I love how this place has something for everyone! I usually order the tofu (which is AWESOME since it's so hard to find vegetarian options in many restaurants) and the tofu is SO good and crispy. I prefer to get the salad and sub the chicken for tofu, it's so good! The sides are great as well - the seasoning in the fries makes them addictive. I'd also recommend joining the wine club! The once a month "pick up parties" have a fun, casual vibe and they bring in a sommelier to try different wines from around the world. I appreciate how they are usually natural wines with such a depth of flavor profiles and are so unique! Big fan of Thai Bird and love how it's become a staple in our rotation of restaurants.

Very nice ambiance and service. Very good tasty chicken but doesn't rise to the level of a great pollo asado place or an excellent tandoori chicken restaurant. Good but nothing to make me return.

Oh boy, where do I start? Usually when we prep for a trip I research and call ahead asking about food allergies. When I spoke to Chef over the phone I felt at ease about coming here. Both the Fried and Roasted chicken was free from ALL of my little ones food allergies. So good we came here twice. After the first bite of the tender, gluten free or not, this is top tier fried chicken. The Roasted Chicken was just as good, if not better. It's difficult to make chicken breast juicy so you can tell this place has some experience and technique. For sides, we ordered the pickles, corn, fruit salad and kale salad. I'll try the fries next time. The pickles had a strong but manageable and tasty vinegar burn to it. Corn I thought could use some salt but adding yourself never hurt anyone. Fruit salad was refreshing. Kale salad was my favorite, dressed well, not drenched, crunchy and refreshing. All of their dipping sauces are top tier also. I couldn't decide a favorite between the Tamarind, ginger and the sweet/sour type sauce. Owners are dope. Staff is knowledgable and vibes are definitely there. 11/10, would come back.

This place is AWESOME!! I went to the Broadway location and am so happy I stopped in. The owner is super cool & friendly and the space is really nice & clean. He recommended the Roasted Chicken and it was the best!! Such a good flavor. I also tried the cinnamon sugar donuts. Loved all of it! Also, everything is gluten free! I'll be back soon!

This restaurant was not really what I was expecting, in a good way! I'm not typically a curry person and I wasn't aware that the chicken had a strong curry flavor, but it was delicious. All the sauces were really good as well, they definitely lean on the sweet side. The must have was the fries they had such a good lime flavor, but we're so crisp on the outside while also being fluffy on the inside.

They used to have a great sommelier who was fun , knew his stuff and always engaging - now I almost feel like I am bothering them by dining. To be fair, it's skeleton staff which worked as we were there at lunch but as the Pearl was crowded - no clue how they would cope with a large crowd as even we came close to leaving and going somewhere else twice : One when we were handed a paired down menu - my husband has always loved their beer list as they have some rare finds and at first it appeared that was gone - but they do have a full menu and he found some good picks! And second when we almost gave up on the next round! That said is a beautiful space with so many great wines - I enjoyed their bubbles flight ( it's not on the menu but they do offer to curate flights based on your likes) , my husband found some stellar beers and we enjoyed a cheese / charcuterie plate and flatbread! Will still always love coming here and recommend it but it's not as fun or inviting as it used to be !

Our twelve guests ranged in age from 14-79 years, and everyone had a wonderful experience. We began with waters for the table, soft drinks, and cocktails/mocktails (Man Walks into a Bar, Amba No. 5, Don Alberto, Green Shug Collins). Due to our large party, we had booked a chef's tasting experience, which was spectacular. The appetizers were plentiful, flavorful, and unique. Our server, Anissa, did a wonderful job of explaining each dish-- its components, highlights, even suggesting that after finishing the beef dumplings, we stir the oil and yogurt together for an amazing pita dipping sauce. Our meal included four meats-- actually five, considering an off menu chef's creation for our pescatarian guest. It was such an immersive experience, I never took out my phone to capture photos of the food (or our group, sadly). Three desserts topped off the evening. When (not if) we return, we'll certainly request Anissa again. She made the evening a complete delight, even bringing out celebratory candles for our honored guests.

Overall, I'd say most of the people in our group probably would not go back, but I don't necessarily think that was because the food was bad or lacking flavor. I think a lot of us just weren't very accustomed to Mediterranean flavor profiles and this style of dining. Most of us really enjoyed the dips, the meats, and the desserts. Those were definitely the standout parts of the meal for our group. Some of the dishes in between were a little more questionable for us personally -- we tried everything, but there wasn't necessarily one specific dish we completely fell in love with. That being said, the experience itself was amazing. The atmosphere was so cool and unlike anything we had done before. Being served course after course and getting to experience so many different dishes made the meal feel really unique and memorable. All of the staff members who waited on us were absolutely fantastic and so understanding of some of our questioning looks while trying unfamiliar foods. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and made the experience feel fun and comfortable from start to finish. If you already love Mediterranean food, this place may be right up your alley. I just think it's good to know what kind of flavor profiles to expect before coming, especially if you're newer to this type of cuisine. Overall, we still had a great time there.

The Pear gorgonzola salad was amazing ... pears soaked in red wine paired with room temp gorgonzola, green and a light vinaigrette. The escargot brought yums. I had the braised short ribs.
