From the start, I was very excited about Pella windows being our selected installer for our living room project. We had asked for pricing on all windows, but due to pricing, ended up starting with just our living room, which has French doors leading to the backyard and 5 additional windows. Our sales representative took a very long time to pitch to us (4 hours), his technology did not function so there were delays, and then he got some of the quote wrong. This resulted in a 4-week delay on top of already long lead times due to supply chain issues. As a result, we asked for a 10% decrease in the price. When we finally got the doors and windows installed, I was not impressed with their attention to detail. The caulking around the door frame was sloppy, requiring additional cost to fix the paint, and there was still dust/grime on the windows. Moreover, there are splotches of paint on our carpet surrounding the worksite that won't come out and eventually will need to be replaced. For the price, we are not impressed, although the quality of the windows themselves seems very good. read more

We have loved our Pella front security rain glass door now for the past 6 years. We recently requested some adjustments to the door which the technicians from the Plano salon took care of promptly. Our door is like new. Because we had great success with Pella doors, we decided to replace the bay window in the Family room and our 3 back doors. After ordering and anxiously waiting 3 months our installation crew, DPR/2 Fernando, arrived on-time Monday, August 28 at 10:00 AM. Fernando and his crew worked diligently and accurately for 3 days in the Blistering Dallas Heat (avg temps of 106) without complaint. Each day started early and ended late. Fernando and crew were conscientious and hard working completing their task on-time today, August 30 at 5:30 PM. Special note: DPR/2 Fernando is an exceptional installation crew because - 1) On-time 2) excellent communication with client 3) kept his crew informed 4) neat and organized keeping our property tidy 5) Presentation of final product - demonstrated how each door and window worked, asked that we try everything to our satisfaction, provided maintenance tips and contact information, thoroughly cleaned doors, windows, all surrounding work areas and rooms worked in. They even cleaned off a piece of stone in our garden that had a small amount of something (likely a bird dropping) on it...this crew is neat. 6) courteous to their clients With Pella and DPR/2 Fernando you get what you pay for...Quality! read more

We ordered ~20 windows in March of 2020... AND HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO GET OUR WINDOWS INSTALLED. it's APRIL 2021!!! 13 month and counting. Our sales rep, Terry, has been making excuses since June 2020, and after dozens of phone calls and texts messages he simply told me he has not idea when our windows will be installed. I've been waiting for the GM, David to contact me, and he's apparently too busy in meetings to contact us. This is the most unprofessional, inept, dishonest company that I've ever done business with. We had a 2pm appointment with this location. It's now 3:54 no rep ever showed up or called. The manager called at 2:45 to say that the rep was 20 minutes away. They never came or called. We have hired Pella to change our windows to Single Hung Window a couple months ago. It was a mistake. As soon as the installers left, we checked the installation and discovered that lower window DIDN'T Stay OPEN. We called them to redo the job. AFTER THE TWO MONTHS, THEY HAVE NOT EVEN CALLED US BACK. I moved into my home in 2014, with all pella windows. This company is beyond difficult to schedule an appointment with, it take at least 2 weeks for a $160, non refundable estimate to be scheduled. It took 5 minutes for the pella guy to diagnose the problem I was having with the lock in my patio door& 2 weeks later, yes TWO WEEKS, they emailed me an absolutely ridiculous price to repair/replace the lock(over $1300!!). The problem is that pella takes advantage of you because they are the ONLY ONES who can service their products. They don't even apply the $160 to the repair price. This is highway robbery, in my opinion & if they would've agreed to significantly lower the price I wouldn't be writing this review. I'd never EVER use pella in a new home! read more

Do not buy from Pella Windows and Doors they have yet to properly install our doors. We ordered them last June!!! The doors arrived at the warehouse in October. The half assed installation is a joke. Started the end of November. Continued in December. They then demanded full payment without completion. They promised to be here January 31. They still haven't come. They aren't wind or waterproof! Buyers beware. I contracted with Pella Windows & Doors, Plano, Texas office to replace 30+ windows and 2 exterior doors; including installation, over $50K paid and I am still waiting for the job to be completed, 14+ weeks and counting. This company has similar customer service practices as the airlines and IRS, so beware. There is a long list of miscues by Pella (mis-measuring windows, order delays, production issues) and it's people and to-date, they have failed to recognize or recover from their errors. I've owned a Pella exterior door for a few years now. Paid about $6,500 for it. Two problems. First, you can't hang a storm door on it. No contractor will drill into the metal frame. I've been 'no-billed' three times over the years upon a site measure. Which I find extremely odd since Pella sells storm doors on its website! Second, I can't get duplicate keys made. No local locksmith seems to be able to do it, and Pella customer support is no help. So, if you're in the market for a new exterior door I advise you to move on. Do not buy Pella. I have a 20 year old house that had builder grade aluminum windows. They have been falling apart for the last two years. So, after about 18 months of researching replacement windows, I mean in depth research. I checked with big box stores, local & regional window companies, youtube videos, internet searches, google & five other reviews of companies and those door to door P@w*r (Hi I'm in the neighborhood installing windows for your neighbor so many streets over, yada, yadda). Cut that crap out! I bit the bullet and we decided to go with Pella. I knew what I wanted. I wanted the Pella Impervia, which is the fiberglass framed window. I contacted the local Pellabranch.com made an appointment and it went smooth. Since I did not want Vinyl/PVC framed I knew fiberglass would cost 30 percent more, why, because I did the research. When I got the quote, it was very reasonable. Considering I know people that paid more for a vinyl, I mean thick frame vinyl (do your research why the vinyl frame is wide with less glass) with less windows installed than my quote. Anyway, I agreed and was informed that it would be 12-18 weeks out for the build and install. During these supply chain shortage, no ones fault. I was given an install date. The installer was on time, informative, and his team were subject matter experts on installation. They completed the job of 14 windows within 8 hours and you could not even tell they were here after they left. Took great care to protect everything. The windows look amazing. Totally updated the appearance of this house. We are looking forward to lower electric bills and less outside noise. I am happy. I got a great product, at a good price with an even better install. Amazing installers equals Amazing window. Don't fall for a bad window or bad installer. Or, a great window with a bad installer equals a bad window. Do your research. Thank you Pella of North Texas. I'm not sure how this company gets any business at all with prices 4 times other companies and service that is some of the worst out there. I wouldn't be surprised if Pella goes out of business. DON'T GO THROUGH PELLA. Save yourself A LOT of money and buy the windows yourself and have your own contractors install. The crew that showed up was a rag tag crew. They didn't cover any of my furniture or tent out the area they were working on. They screwed up the installation of my $15K slider, which I caught and had to ask them to install in properly, which they then damaged the slider and now it won't even open all the way. They also damaged my rug near one of the doors, and dinged and dented the the other 2 doors they installed. Moreover, no one ever followed up from Pella, and I can't even get a hold of my salesman, he's not answering my calls or texts. If you want to use a big company for the trust and reliability factor, use Renewal By Anderson. They did 10 windows on my house before Pella did the doors, and they were really good, professional installers and both my salesman and the company followed up to see how the install went. read more

It took nearly two months after my initial installation to get glaring issues resolved (metal protrusions from the frame of our sliding glass door) and am now told the installation (different than what we originally agreed upon) was going to be sufficient because they didn't see any damage. I got several quotes for a new front door. The other companies I picked had great reviews and I was very pleased with the sales person that showed up and with the quote. Pelle, I picked at random for another option. Was not impressed with the sales man or the company at all. Did not think he could do a double door (the others could). The process to select the specifics of the door were limited and outdated. Not custom at all. And the price? I actually laughed as I thought he was kidding. $19,000+ for a wood door? Are you kidding me? The others were 1/3 of that. read more

I am getting bids for new patio doors. My husband and I have aligned to everything we wanted and already got some bids. Someone recommended Pella so I put in a request for them to come out and give us a bid. I was so offended by the rep basically telling me their policy is that they can only come out of my husband is here as well to "make the final decision" it was nearly laughable. I explained my husband was busy with an appointment. He's a doctor and runs his own practice, he and I already selected materials together and talked through what we wanted. I explained this to their scheduler. They insisted that he be home or they can't come out. I explained we have our own business and three small children and the optimal time for them to come out would be the time I requested In their system. They wasted my time and basically made me feel as though as a woman I can't make my own decisions for the house in which I own. Never again, and don't waste your time. read more

Pella gets two stars for ease of scheduling, followup with reminders of appts, and what I assume is a very nice product. But if I was solely rating their rep for the Plano area ("Sky"), they would have received no stars. She came to our house to measure for replacement windows, spent over 1.5 hours here (which is what their office had told us to be prepared to spend) and then said she'd need another hour to prepare the quote. We had work, so we couldn't spend another hour on the windows just then, but she refused to just email us the quote afterwards - she said she'd need at least another hour to "talk us through it first". (ALL the other window companies we looked at took less than an hour to measure and discuss their product, then happily sent us a quote.) She was also very pushy, talking negatively about other competitors from the start and bragging about her sales numbers, rather than just telling us about her product. Then, when she came back to "review" the quote with us, she told us that her son had been diagnosed with Covid THAT MORNING. Um, excuse me, then WHY ARE YOU IN MY HOUSE EXPOSING ME TO THAT? Just horribly irresponsible. Even worse, she didn't even have the quote prepared correctly - several windows were wrong from what we said we'd wanted, and she ended up writing the actual "quote" on the back of a piece of paper, using her cell phone as a calculator. Ultimately, their window pricing for vinyl windows came out 2x more expensive than all other companies we looked out, and their fiberglass windows that she was really pushing came out 3x more expensive (and those figures are after all their "discounts" that took $20-30k off the initial price...). She told us multiple times she was "still working on the quote for the door" and we still haven't seen it --this is more than a week after our initial appointment. (The other shops we looked at configured their pricing on a tablet or laptop and were able to work up a quote on a new door in minutes.) Anyways, long story short, I definitely won't be using Pella for our new windows. read more

I went from a extremely upset customer to an extremely happy customer because of the wonderful service I received from my local Pella location that services Plano, Grapevine locations. It is all because of CJ and his team who carries out his caring for customers and professionalism!! My whole house is done in Pella windows with 35 casement windows and 3 custom transform windows. I was proud to have researched many window manufacturers and personally selected Pella's windows working with the Plano rep in 2003 building our home. When I had what I felt was an extremely important and urgent safety issue with one of my casement windows, I made the mistake of contacting Pella Corp. Pella Corporate was terrible to work with and absolutely no help, and according to them I am really not there customer. I didn't really realize that my local Pella is privately owned and truly care about me as a customer, not the corporate Pella. I wish I would have realized that originally instead the hours spent on Corporate. Trust me I am glad that my Pella location is locally owned and is right there to support their customers and there to do what is right. Once I got to CJ he asked what can I do to help you, what can I do to make you believe in us again...Wow!!! While trying to deal with Corporate, we had to already figure out how to remove my son's second floor 35/70 casement window which was completely open just hanging from one metal piece, before it crashed on our neighbors yard and dogs. Once CJ got involved he still immediately had his team come out to access the window and measure for order. We had covered the window the best we could while waiting for a replacement to be made and shipped. Then we had the worst weather Texas has had and hopefully ever coming our way with -3 degrees Forecasted. I called CJ and he sprang to action again making a plan to reinstall the broken window to keep us from freezing, and he would do it again when the new window arrived. I must say I numerously thought of how thankful I was that we had a window that protected us because it ended up we had no electricity for 4 days with temperatures -3 degrees to -15 degrees during that time. True to CJ's word he did follow-up have our new window installed, sent yet another super experienced team which included Jonathan who was beyond exceptional and also checked all of my other windows making even small adjustments to assure I was confident in all of my windows! Just like CJ promised when he asked what could he do to make me believe in them again. By the way all of this was done without the financial transaction. I wish I had written the name of the individual from CJ's team who came out in terrible weather and fixed enough to reinstall the broken window. He and Jonathan were exceptional and experts in what they do. Over the years, I have told many about some of the things I did in considering my windows purchase such as mixing opening and non-opening, etc. Now I guarantee I will tell of the wonderful service of locally owned Pella! I am now also looking to get a quote from my local Pella rep for a 4 panel sliding glass door that will hide in a pocket wall. Thank you! CJ and team!!! I needed some 20+ year old Pella windows serviced and/or replaced. It did take a couple of weeks for their technician John M to come look at the needed repairs and estimate my project but after that it was smooth sailing. Once we agreed on the cost of everything it did take a few more weeks to receive the needed parts as everything is custom made. When they called to schedule the repairs this time I knew to request John. He was fast, efficient, polite, and cleaned up absolutely every area perfectly when finished. We used Pella for the house we were building. The windows themselves are wonderful. They are very efficient. But, back when we ordered them and had them installed there was a problem with the order. When we brought it to the salesman, he denied the problem. When we filed a complaint with BBB, Pella denied the problem and a submitted contract that they used as a defense. The contract had our forged signature. It didn't even look like my husband's signature. The salesman that was helping us was fired, but Pella never fixed the problem with us. It cost us about $60,000. There are plenty of good window companies out there with integrity, give them your business. Don't take your chances with Pella. read more

Super great product, but they don't want your business after installation. I live in Collin County, Texas. I hired the Plano Pella store (not a window contractor) to replace all of the windows & exterior doors in my house a little over 2 years ago. It was a huge and expensive project and I thought--going into it--that Pella would provide great support after installation. That didn't happen. Last month, a dog accidentally ran through one of my new Pella screen doors. The dog & the door frame were fine, but the screen had to be replaced. Pella gave me a whopping $1,227.07 estimate for the work, and required that I sign a 10-page contract if I wanted them to do it. Per the contract, the job only required $36 in material. Needless to say I didn't use Pella for the repair. Instead, a very sweet 75-year old gentleman came out and did a beautiful job of replacing the screen. He showed up the day after I called him, charged me only $50 (which included his labor and material), didn't require me to sign a 10-page contract or any contract at all, and he got the job done in well under an hour... that included several ball games that my dog insisted on. His name is Bill Evans. He works for The Screen Guys at (918) 550-3183. He drove down from Oklahoma and does a ton of work in the Dallas metroplex. If you need something other than screen repair, call DFW general contractor George Alexander (a hard working, military veteran who owns West Construction Group) at 972- 730-2594. He can handle window installations & repairs, residential remodeling projects, roof replacements, obstinate insurance companies, etc. George did some fantastic projects on my house last year, and he's the one who recommended Bill Evans. read more
