We booked an overnight at this place a few years ago to attend a wedding. It is a smaller…read morecampground and feels a bit tight with 22 full-hook up sites and only 30 amp service. They have one site with 50 amp. They do have 6 pull-through sites for larger rigs. They allow tents on pull-through sites only. The sites are dirt, but fairly level. Anyone with a large rig and tow vehicle should avoid this place or call to ensure you will fit. There are several large trees in the park that can make backing your rig difficult. Most of the sites are fairly small. If you are trailering another vehicle, they recommend renting another site to accommodate that tow vehicle which is a bummer. They do have a pool, showers and bathrooms. For me, it was cool to experience this place one time, but it wouldn't be my first choice.

The staff is super friendly and the campground is a quick drive to town, not far from Ironstone Winery and Murphy's. The cabin was spacious and we loved that there was some tree cover for shade. Also thought the cooking pavilion with sinks and stove burners was really convenient. With that said, was it worth $187.50 per night to stay in a log cabin with no amenities, that not been cleaned ahead of arrival? No, wouldn't do it again. Upon arriving to our cabin and paying $25 to check in 3 hours early we found it full of spider webs and leaves. We also noticed that when other people had checked out during out stay no one came by to check or clean the cabins. Our cabin had 2 ceiling fans, one of which the chain was broken or removed so only worked with the light on. This made for very hot nights. The bathrooms were close by and pretty clean but 1 of the 2 bathrooms was locked and unavailable for the majority of our stay. The grounds are pretty desolate, its all paventment and gravel. There is a sand volleyball court where you can also play badminton and a basketball hoop with a dirt court. The pool is not heated but in the thick of hot August it was refreshing. It is old and needs maintenance but did the trick to cool us down. The office has a store, but calling it that is a stretch. It has some candy, soda, firewood and ice. If you forgot something it would mean a short drive to town for provisions. For what we got at that price, I would not book again.

The event site is just beautiful with a fantastic built-in bar, tons of gorgeous trees, a great dance floor, and more. It provided the perfect place for us to have the ceremony and reception. I know the pictures are going to be fantastic. The icing on the cake is the staff. They were incredibly helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond, and it made a huge difference in the entire wedding weekend. Robert was wonderful. He was so accommodating and helpful. This place is Hard NO. First of all it's $75 a night for sites that are on level, broken concrete…read morewhen you're trying to pull your rig through to park they have dead tree branches that are that scrape your RV and the branches on the tree need to be trimmed and they scrape and scratch your RV. It's absolutely not a resort. They charge you $19 to dump. They charge you $10 a night for a dog. The camp host doesn't even know his own rules. He told my fellow camper he couldn't turn his generator on until 9 AM and the paperwork says 8 AM. It is so dusty. It's like baby powder coming in and out of your rig they don't water anything down so it just floats through the air. The lady at the check-in is so unfriendly she should find another job the ladies in the restaurant and the bar were wonderful. That was the only good thing about this place. Do not stay there with your rig, but definitely have lunch or dinner.

The town is small but quaint. They have a restaurant, bar, ice cream shop, and a cute little fire department. Here's where the review kinda Lost a star... Around 9 pm there were several gun shots... And again at 0120 in the morning.. Not entirely sure what's going on, but that bothers me... Call me weird, but as a solo (female) van life camper hearing gun shots near your camp site isn't what you want to experience ... Honestly the RV campground was good, but the crazy person(s) firing off weapons was something I could have done without.

This RV Park has turned into a money grab. $90+ per night…read moreplus the fee to make an online reservation. Site lock fee And if you check in between 12 and 2 there's another $25 fee. Split the difference and just have check-in time at one like most RV parks. We come here 1-3 times a year. Not one time have we been assessed the early check in fee. We checked in at 1:35 pm and were charged the $25. The smug, smartass attendant charged me when I said I wasn't ok with it. When we came in January we were not charged the fee. People next to us said they came in June and weren't charged the fee. By the time we were setup I didn't even turn on the power until 2:05. SMH I tried talking to the higher ups but to no avail. They all point the finger at each other. Point to policy. But it's ok to close the office down an hour earlier than posted. Thats fine. I know we are just tiny fish in their giant pond but i did some stuff that made me feel better. Instead of having pizza and bowling. We skipped the pizza and ate a better meal in our rig. Saved us $75. Our friends that live in Jamestown took us out for our anniversary. They were taking us to seven sisters. They took us somewhere else after talking with them. We had a great time and that $500 was better spent somewhere else. Instead of dropping $175 at their over priced gas station, which we always do when we come here. We will fill up at home. Also 3/4 of the items in the store are not priced. Retail 101, the price tag is the silent salesman. Lastly, instead of making a donation in the slots I kept my money. Usually it's only a $200 for me. So because of their poor customer service We spent over a $1000 elsewhere and not at black Oak. I suggest instead of saying you're subject to an early check in fee, you should say it's a mandatory early check in fee.

All of the RV amenities are spaced just right and create an easy hook up and disconnect . Great power and water pressure is provided. Oh and you don't have to take your trash to the dumpster. I visited recently as a complete beginner, and the experience was second to none. The highlight of the night was at the Pai Gow table. My friend generously put down a Benjamin just so I could learn the ropes and get a feel for the game. I was a bit nervous at first, but the dealers were extremely helpful, patient, and fantastic teachers. Thanks to their guidance, I walked away feeling completely comfortable and confident with the game. It must have been beginners luck, but I immediately won my friend's initial bet back and came up a bit. Beyond the stellar gaming education, the customer service across the entire resort was top-notch. The staff goes above and beyond, drinks are readily offered to customers to keep the good times rolling, and the facilities themselves were absolutely immaculate.
