Batteries were changed in the remote and in the receiver but that didn't solve the issue. I have to add at this point, that this unit is in a rental property and we are landlords who were unable to be on site at the time our tenants brought this to our attention. Laurie, a super communicator and troubleshooter, comes to the rescue. She has a few things to ask the tenants to look for, identify and test. She narrowed down the problem all via email and text. Once the inop part was identified, it was ordered. As soon as it arrived, Laurie called our tenant directly to make an appt for installation. Between Laurie and our (fantastic) tenants, they pretty much took care of things between just the two of them . . . all we needed to do was provide payment. This is so, so appreciated and valued as landlords who were unable to be present at the property at the time. Btw, I also have to add that our tenants had nothing but great things to say about Laurie's communication and the installation visit as well - - - on time, efficient, neat, polite and very courteous. From initial inquiry to repair, all was done within a couple of weeks. The epitome of efficiency. Unfortunately, all the fireplace companies we contacted could only offer to break the bricks and install a huge faceplate to cover the mess. Since our fireplace isn't flat, that would've looked absolutely atrocious. Bill, however, was able to carefully remove the old bricks and re-lay new ones. Not only that, he paused his work until we had discussed all the details with the fireplace company. Great craftsmanship and amazing cleanup after all the mess! Now all that's left is to install the gas insert.

What really stood out was how meticulous they were about getting our fireplace prep done right, especially making sure our contractor used the right insulation material so we wouldn't be dealing with bad smells down the road. They'd seen jobs where the wrong material was used and it turned out badly, and they made sure that didn't happen to us. Initially sent an email inquiry, and Trevor immediately responded. We had a service appointment scheduled quickly. Trevor offered multiple times and dates, and always responded quickly. Day of service, Michael arrived promptly. He is professional and efficient. Turns out our valve had broken, which required a special part.
