I went to NC to visit my family for a wedding about a week ago. Unfortunately, due to my poor packing skills a lipstick I had put inside my luggage opened and spilled all over. It stained the dress I wanted to take to the wedding. It took me a while to find a dress for this occasion and I was pretty disappointed this happened. Thankfully, we arrived days before the wedding, so I went to look for a cleaners near by. I'm glad I decided to go to Peninsula Cleaners. The staff is really great and they did an amazing job! Bait and switch, RUDE, and no communication from the owner to address their error I dropped off two bags of wash and fold laundry; specifically sheets, towels, a blanket and comforters, after being drawn to the business because they offered a 20% off coupon on comforter laundering. When I received my laundry back, half of it was laundered and half of it was dry cleaned. To be more specific, one pillowcase, one sheet and one comforter was dry cleaned. The other pillowcase, the other sheet, and the other comforters were laundered. When I inquired about the $284 charge, which should have been $42, the lady at the desk, was very rude and hung up on me. When I called back, she accused me of hanging up on her. I asked to speak to the owner. She said the owner would not talk to us because she was busy and on the phone, but had offered a $35 credit towards future cleaning. "No thank you," I said, "I'd like to speak with the owner." She then proceeded to yell at me again. When I attempted to ask to speak to the owner again, she belligerently told me to stop interrupting and that she would hang up on me again if I continued. I have left several messages and have not received a phone call back from the owner. I would not recommend this place, my experience was horrible and I paid additional $238 for one dry cleaned pillowcase (it's mate was laundered as I ordered), one dry cleaned sheet (whose mate was laundered as ordered), and a dry cleaned comforter, which I did not order. To make matters worse my wife is allergic to perc (the dry cleaning ingredient) so we now have to take them elsewhere to be laundered so we can use them. I am not a person who leaves bad reviews. However, I have used wash and fold and dry cleaning services for over 30 years. (Not my first rodeo.) The level of overcharge compounded by rudeness is why I am writing this review. AWESOME alterations!! I live across the lake and made the trip to Cornelius because Penisula Club Cleaners was highly recommended. My mother-of-the-bride dress was too tight (even though I am 5'5" and weigh 118 pounds). Vinka worked a small miracle in finding enough material on both sides to let it out two inches. She also removed a stay and now I can breathe easier - and the dress feels and looks beautiful! Vinka is a talented seamstress. If you need someone who is top in her field, seek out Vinka! While spending time in Cornelius to look for a property to purchase I encountered a problem when I stained my lucky shirt with BBQ sauce! This is a huge problem for me since my woman says she really likes it when I wear my lucky shirt and she can't say no to me when I'm sporting it. Well you can only imagine the horror when I dripped BBQ sauce all down the front of my shirt! I panicked and had to get this problem remedied ASAP so I looked up local dry cleaners and that is when my luck changed and I found Peninsula Cleaners. To my utter delight not only did Peninsula Cleaners get my shirt back to perfect and stain free but it now seems like the shirt pops even more! If there was 0 stars, this is what these people would be getting... I dropped off a silk dress with a scarf to get cleaned late November, that my daughter bought me for $800 as an early Christmas gift, as we had an event in NYC to attend... I got a chance to pick it up just before New Years & when I inspected it before I left the store, I could see the very stain that was on there still... The very RUDE gentleman who informed me that he was in charge, told me the owner was on vacation & he didn't know when she'd be back... I left the dress for the store owner to inspect & asked that she call me before doing anything with the dress, as the colours was mottled.... I never heard from them & after being in Europe for 2 months, I called in today to pick up my $800 dress!!! I was told it was over the 90 days from 1st day old drop off & they had considered it abandoned & donated it!!!! I asked for the dates they tried to call me & no one knew, I asked for date when they decided it was abandoned & again neither the owner or her RUDE male helper had any idea... I asked when they donated it & to where, hoping against hope that I could go there fast & retrieve my beloved dress...Made In Italy I might add!!! They had no idea when it was considered abandoned, or any idea when it was donated.... I drove immediately to Goodwill & spoke to the manager & he assured me he had no recent donations from the Drycleaners.... I believe these people perhaps cleaned my dress & scarf with sequins more aggressively the second time around & damaged it & then decided to hid the evidence!!!! What SHYSTERS!!! I wouldn't take m dishcloth there!!! She can put on fake eyelashes in an attempt to attract attention.... however having your clothes cleaned or destroyed is another story!!! Then she had the audacity to offer me a refund of the $30 charge for the service!!! That was all she could do...I said NO THANK YOU!!! NEVER GO HERE!!! read more

Just recently moved here to North Carolina. My husband got transferred over from his job as it was hard to make the transitions. Since his clothes needed to be professionally cleaned for work occasionally, we were in need of a cleaner near by, that provided great quality work. It was hard leaving our old cleaner back home, as we have bonded with them. We found Peninsula Cleaners and decided to give them a try and thank god we did because this place made us feel like we never left home. We met Chantha, who took care of us. She was so sweet and full of energy. This place is so professional and has such a positive environment. We told her what we needed done and with no hesitation she took care of us and welcome us to the neighborhood. The service she provided was great and the quality of work is just awesome. Horrible experience! After recently moving to the area went to this place based on reviews . Brought in a very expensive winter comforter to have cleaned once season was over . My mistake for not checking when I originally picked it up , but assumed from the great reviews and expensive rate that the job was done . Wrong ! When I went to take the comforter out to use a few months later it was worse than when I dropped it off . Stained on the inside with lint and dust all over it . They also cut the tag off that has the instructions on how to clean and in doing so ripped the comforter . When I called to inquire with what happened and to inform them I was brushed off . They have 90 days to take any responsibility . However wasn't even interested in the issue or apologetic . Don't go here ! read more

Would not recommend this dry cleaner for delicate items, would just take basics like dress shirts or pants here. My items came back with colorloss spots and watermarks. They were very nice to try two more times to fix the problem, but after that didn't work they only offered to reimburse me for my cleaning, $30, when they ruined over $500 in two dresses. I had tried several dry cleaners in the area and always left disappointed. I finally asked a co-worker who she used and she told me "Peninsula Dry Cleaners was the best in town!" I walked in the door and was immediately greeted by a young man who welcomed me with a smile, asked me about my starch preferences, and put stickers on a couple stains so they would be noticed during the cleaning. I also had a pair of pants that I needed hemmed and my waist let out. A very friendly lady came and pinned the hem for me. The gentleman told me I would receive a text in about 4 days when my order was completed. I asked if there was any way I could get it the next day because I was leaving for out of town for a funeral. He quickly responded that it was no problem at all. My clothes were cleaned and altered by the next day! I have been a customer now for over two years and absolutely love the friendly service, convenience of getting my alterations done, and the amazing quality of dry cleaning & pressing I receive every time. read more
