This place is great! Food is always fresh and served hot, by the chef, which is a nice touch. Both of the benedicts we have have been delicious and the pancakes are to die for (the perfect combination of fluff and crisp). Ceasar salad is tasty. The fish and chips were both fresh and the cod was perfectly flakey and not oily in the slightest. The prime dip is consistently out of this world (our go-to). While we live the level of salt, i can see how some might find it a little on the salty side. Luckily, the salt is on the bun, so easy enough to rub off if you find it too much. Mocktails are great when done right, but that is sadly not always the case. Staff are always cheerful and helpful. Thadeous is a delight and fun to talk with. It's a nice, spacious, and clean place with good natural light without being in the sun. The ambiance is well suited for a date night, going, going to the bar with friends, grabbing breakfast, or having a lunch meeting. Parking in the garage is free! Ask for validation before you're seated to save time when you're leaving. The first time I walked in I was shocked that such a nice place was in Englewood. You can actually enjoy your conversation No need to shout. So refreshing. We dropped in on a day that I happened to be very hungry. Their happy hour is THE place to go if you are hungry or hungry AND thirsty. The Happy Hour $5 menu has wonderful choices, from a heaping bowl of fried pickle chips with deeeelicious dipping sauce, 2 amazingly crispy tacos with 2 sauces, one of which was smoky and absolutely delicious!! I also got a Caesar salad. Yes, I was THAT hungry! We ordered a jam burger and short rib stroganoff. The burger was cooked perfectly to order and was dee-licious! I substituted sweet potato fries and they were "homemade style small wedges" and cooked perfectly. My only complaint is that the sweet potato wedges were a substituted upgraded item and I only had about five fries, but I had to pay the upgrade charge. The short rib stroganoff was so fantastic that my mouth is watering at the memory of it. The short ribs were cooked to perfection. The noodles were also cooked to perfection with creamy delicious mushroom stroganoff sauce. Oh my goodness! I want to go back now. Lol! Service was amazing. Gary was very knowledgeable about the menu and was such a warm kind person. We almost felt like we were dining with family! Michael was very attentive and helpful and ensured our food was properly and quickly served. This unassuming little gem immediately became one of our favorite restaurants. We can't recommend it enough. The restaurant didn't look like much from the outside. But once inside, it is a cozy, warm, upscale restaurant. They also have a large back room with a large TV. The good: The food was delicious and presentation was very good. The bad: when my partner unrolled his cloth napkin, it was torn completely along one seam. I ordered the short rib stroganoff but was brought something else (short rib enchiladas). I was then asked if I wanted the stroganoff (I'm, yeah). The ugly: this was our first time here, and we came in the door on the Pennsylvania side (the patio). I think it was obvious by the way we were looking around that we didn't know what we should do. The bartender and a lady he was talking to looked right at us and kept talking. Then, a bus boy came out back, and I finally asked him, "should we just seat ourselves?" Without looking at us, he responded that we needed to go to the host station. So we went to the host station and waited about two minutes. The host finally came up...and it was the lady talking to the bartender. She could take 30 seconds when she was looking g STRAIGHT AT US to say, "welcome! I'll be right with you!" I didn't want to leave a bad review because the food was delicious and the place had potential if they worked on the front of house issues, so I went on the website and sent a private message to please call so I could give them some honest feedback. I waited two weeks and haven't hear from anyone, so I have decided to share my experience. Because of customer service, we won't be back despite the food. read more

Penn Street Kitchen is in an office building across from the Swedish Medical Center and serves contemporary American food. We had large group of 10 people, which they accommodated easily without any crowding of our party or other tables. The front desk was very efficient with getting us seated, including directing others to our table they arrived. The initial table service was quick and efficient, however after the orders were taken, the service lagged considerably. Follow-up visits by our server were lacking and numerous times had to literally flag down our server for any drink refills, to-go boxes and our checks. As far as food is concerned, all the lunch meals looked fresh and delicious as they were being served. However, the Fish and Chips I ordered turned out to disappointing, due to the fish seem to have been steamed at some point and had a mushy texture rather than the firmness of a nice filet of fish. The chips served were very good, with nice crisp outside, which also was the case for the light tempura-like batter on the outside of the fish. I must admit the Reuben sandwich that another ordered looked amazing. Overall, the location of Penn Street is convenient and with the accessibility of the parking garage (Penn Street validates the 1st 2-hours of parking), is a very nice place to meet for lunch. Even with the service and my lunch meal, I would return, as all restaurants have off days of service or food, and many of the other dishes ordered looked great. Tips for your visit: If you have a large party, they use Open Table for reservations and accommodate us with separate checks. If you like people watching, ask for table by the window. read more

We recently hosted a Celebration of Life gathering for a group of 13 at Penn Street, and the experience was absolutely outstanding.Before we even arrived, the manager, Ben, was incredibly accommodating. Knowing there were other large parties that afternoon, he proactively set aside six high-top tables (perfect for sitting or standing) to fit our needs. He also let us know that happy hour was extended to 5:30 PM and that Wednesday wine bottles were half off.Despite us running late due to traffic and arriving with a massive order--22 appetizer selections plus two side orders of Brussels sprouts--Ben didn't blink. Our designated waitress, Kelly, was also stuck in traffic, so Ben jumped right in to get our white and red wine, water, and toasting glasses ready. When we realized we forgot the sparkling cider we promised to bring for the toast, Ben quickly saved the day by suggesting and mixing apple juice with carbonated water. Everything was perfectly set up by the time our guests arrived at 5:00 PM. Once Kelly arrived, she was an absolute delight--attentive, friendly, and always easy to flag down when we needed something. Several of our guests who work nearby had never been to Penn Street before and specifically commented on how much they loved the food and the vibe. At the end of the night, the staff thoughtfully brought out to-go containers without us even asking, which was a huge help since we were visiting from out of state. We had been to Penn Street a few times in the past during periods when they were short-staffed, but we are so glad we gave them another chance. Visiting someone at the hospital across the street so wasn't expecting much, but we were pleasantly surprised. Service was fast and food was delicious. I had the blueberry pancakes, which were light and fluffy with plenty of blueberries to top. My companion had the chicken and waffles with chorizo gravy and hot honey and left the plate clean. Little under the radar brunch spot right across from swedish medical center. The design was cute and mid century mod and I loved the vibe inside. Server was incredibly nice. I got a bloody mary, which was the right amount of spice and absolutely delicious. Food wise we got the blueberry pancakes w/ bacon, the chicken & waffles, bacon brie toast w/ an egg, and the denver omelette. everyone loved their food I think except for me with the denver. the ham was thin sliced kind of like deli meat and the bell peppers/onions were huge, the ratio of egg to fillings was 70% egg and 30% filling it felt like. We come here at least once a month for lunch and sometimes after work. We always sit at the bar as it is usually faster service and we only get an hour for lunch. We did the usual and sat at the bar, but the bartender that's normally there was not there. It appeared there were only two servers in a manager working that day. All three walked by us on multiple occasions, and not one of them acknowledged us or said "we'll be right with you." So after seeing tables being sat around us and the server is going up to them, I asked the manager if we needed to be sat at a table and she gave me a look and said no. But still didn't say that somebody would be with us. Finally, one of the servers came over and gave us menus and took our drink orders (all iced teas) and walked away without giving us any sweetener. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I finally walked up to the front where I saw our server and the manager talking and told her we were ready to order. We ordered three sandwiches (two turkey and one Reuben) it took over 30 minutes and our server saying multiple times that she was going to get our food "right now" before it finally came out. We immediately had to ask for boxes as we needed to get back to work. Mind you, we watched as the tables around us that had ordered after us were getting their meals. Even the person next to us who had to get a new meal (because the one she had had a hair in it) somehow got her burger that was re-ordered well after we had ordered, and it came out before our sandwiches. Not once did the server or the manager come over to apologize. The kicker was as we were leaving. The manager couldn't even be bothered to look up at us and say "goodbye" or "have a good day." Let's just say this will be the last time we come here and that's sad because we really enjoyed the food and the service (the bartender). Penn Street Kitchen provided a lovely backdrop for our group brunch while we were visiting friends in Denver. The aesthetic is absolutely perfect because it feels both classy and comfortable at the same time. Our table was ready to go well ahead of our arrival which made the start of our meal very smooth. The food was a major highlight of the experience. The Brie and Bacon toast was delicious and you really cannot beat their bottomless mimosas for a celebratory morning. We did run into a bit of a strange interaction regarding an iced tea order. One friend asked for iced tea and was told twice that they did not serve it, so she settled for a zero proof mixed drink. However, when the rest of our party arrived and someone else ordered an iced tea, the server took the order immediately. When we asked for clarification, he mentioned he was simply confused by the initial question. It was a bit of an awkward start, but my friend eventually got her tea. I guess our takeaway is to be more specific about what we mean by iced tea. Later in the meal, our server cashed us out because his shift was ending. We were still eating and finishing our drinks, and unfortunately, we were not introduced to a new server to take over. This meant we had to walk back and forth to the bar ourselves for refills or any additional orders. Aside from those specific moments, the server was actually very efficient and kind, and the rest of the staff was wonderful and accommodating. We went here on New Year's Eve and had a bad experience. It was slow so there was no excuse for poor service. Waited ten minutes to place a drink order and then another 15 to get the drinks. Order a second drink halfway through the meal and we had to remind the server, another ten minute wait for drinks. The enchiladas were dry, not good at all. I had the chefs special, some collard greens and bacon dish, my mistake but I didn't pee for two days it was so salty. We've scratch this place off of our list of restaurants. I just tried it for the first time today. I have nothing but good things to say about this restaurant. It is clean, wait staff efficient and impeccable in their service. I wish I could remember the name of our waiter b/c he was magnificent. I had the prime rib sandwich and it was the best ever...and I am a picky foodie. They make their potato chips from scratch and they are perfectly crispy. Our waiter gave us a sample of homemade dipping sauce that was amazing. My friend had the Gyros that was huge and she said was delicious. I'll be coming here again in the nearby future and beyond. Please try this place. We have to keep them in business. These had a lot going on in the best way possible. Then we had the short rib stroganoff-I don't typically love stroganoff and I was obsessed with this dish. The meat was very tender and juicy and the sauce for the stroganoff was a 11/10. We randomly got a chili dog special of theirs which was also awesome. The Greek salad was probably my least fav of them all but it was still good. There is a ton of construction outside this building at the moment but don't let it scare you away. A friend and I had lunch here today. A neighbor of mine had eaten here and recommended Penn to us. As we were entering, two older ladies were exiting and we asked them: "How was the food?" They said it was great. I ordered the prime dip sandwich. The hoagie roll was fabulous, my favorite. The au jus was also good. The meat itself was kind of curled up and a little bit chewy. Lemonade is Minute Maid from the soda machine, always a disappointment to me. My friend had a breakfast order of mountain man Benny, still available at 1245PM. He was totally pleased with it. Service was good, but I felt a certain amount of apathy among the staff. Ambiance was kind of a corporate feel. The place is brand new and very clean. Impeccable service, fabulous food and beverages. Heartily recommend. We came for an early dinner and arrived during happy hour (M-F, 2-5 pm). Everything on the HH menu is $5, including craft cocktails. And everything is made onsite from scratch. We started with the chips, guac and salsa. The dish was plentiful and scrumptious, Chips awesome, guac and salsa tasty (and just the right spice level for me with the salsa. Tangy but not overly hot.) For dinner my partner and I split the chile rellenos entree and the salmon croquette appetizer. Both were exceptional. I took the photo of the chile rellenos AFTER I split the dish, so the photo doesn't do it justice. Both were beautifully presented (as were the chips, guac and salsa appetizer). The rellenos were honestly the best I've had. The best part was the cheese on top was maybe broiled (?) as it was a little crisped, too. The salmon croquettes (3) were beautifully seasoned, and together they were a perfect share. The restaurant opened in May 2025 and construction work on old Hampden (near Swedish Hospital) started almost immediately. It's now been almost 6 months that the construction work has dragged on. BUT: the parking garage on Penn, just south of the corner on which the restaurant sits is open and we were told the restaurant will validate for 2 hours of parking. read more
