We visited for lunch. To begin, the good. When we entered the place, the host greeted us pleasantly and showed us to our table. The space is fun, kind of an old school dark/black place punctuated by mirrors and bright art. The menu had what appeared to be many good choices, not only steaks, burgers, etc, but also some Greek and Mexican options. It took a while for us to decide from among them. Maceo ordered a gin and tonic. First hint that all would not be well with the meal. The g&t was warm. A little ice, but thoroughly warm. And it didn't taste either very gin-like, though Maceo had ordered top shelf, nor very tonic-y. One of the worst g&ts we've ever had. And expensive. I ordered the Ten Burger, which included mushrooms and onions. I asked for the burger to be cooked medium rare. Maceo ordered the Philly Steak. It took a very long time for our meals to come out. The place was nearly empty, only two other tables of patrons, but we waited and waited and waited. When the food finally appeared, it was room temperature/cold, as if it had sat waiting for a long while before being taken to the table. The Philly Steak was cold. And not only cold, but in sitting it had lost its juices, so the entire sandwich was dry. The steak itself was cooked nicely, and was tender. The sandwich probably would have been tasty had it been served while still piping hot. Though I had ordered my burger medium rare, it came out very well done. Exceedingly well done. Thoroughly gray nothingness. And the fries were cold. With tip we ended up spending $105 on this meal. We feel very silly. And we also feel sad, because we were hoping that Steakhouse 10 would be an excellent place that would become our new regular spot when visiting Englewood. read more

We received a gift certificate from a friend, so we treated ourselves to an anniversary lunch. The mix of the modern wall treatment with the vintage feel is really nice and the dark interior really puts off a "steakhouse vibe". We started our meal splitting a Greek salad, which was just the right size. I very much enjoyed The Ten Burger while my husband devoured the NY Steak Sandwich, and our meal was finished up with a delicious slice of carrot cake that we split. read more

Steakhouse 10 is unassuming. I have passed by many times but never really noticed it. My friend booked a friend's dinner for our group of 7. A reservation especially with a large party is necessary. It has a classic NYC steakhouse feel. The staff is very friendly and not pretentious at all and very attentive. As soon as I finished my soup and entree they cleaned up the tables. I got the Colorado Pear cocktail to start but would not recommend it, very alcohol forward and extremely pear flavor. The wine we got to accompany our entrees was delicious - Argyle Pinot Noir. I got the New York Strip with mashed potatoes. It comes with the option of mashed or baked potato and asparagus. Also, all come with an option of salad or soup to start. They do provide bread for the table. They brought out table two baskets. The butter was that fluffy whipped butter, perfect for the bread and mashed potatoes. I was so full I ended up begging half my steak home. We got three desserts for the table to try - chocolate cake (very rich I could only have a small bite), limoncello cake (sweet but amazing flavor), cheesecake (the best one!). read more

Walking into this restaurant feels like a different era. Ambiance of old time Italian/Greek high end steakhouses. We were seated downstairs which was just filling up at lunch. We both chose to celebrate my birthday with the 7 ounce filet. This was served with a choice of lobster bisque or green salad. The filet was cooked perfect with homemade creamy mashed potatoes and asparagus cooked perfectly. They served us a complementary moist carrot cake and coffee. I'M SAD AND DISAPPOINTED that I can only give them 5 stars. This hidden gem is a great steakhouse off the beaten path. After visiting there I'm thinking the name of the restaurant should be changed to "Steakhouse (perfect) 10." LAYOUT ====== This place is intentionally laid out so dining can happen in small controlled settings. The first floor has the kitchen, large bar with television, and two areas of tables separated by a divider. If you don't mind a lively setting, the first floor is where you should sit. There is a lot of activity and many presentations of flaming cheese and "OPA!" in the candlelit dining areas. If a boisterous group of diners sits in the larger of the two dining areas, everyone on the first floor will hear them. If you're looking for more a romantic, intimate dining experience, head to the second floor. At the top of the stairs is a quiet loft area with a few tables. There is also another room with a small bar and other tables in a quiet, candlelit setting. The bathrooms are upstairs and there is a sitting area with a couch and a chair just outside those bathrooms. FOOD ===== I come from Chicago where eating beef is a religion and the landscape is littered with fine beef cathedrals like Ruth's Chris, Morton's, Chop Shop and Cooper's Hawk. I've had filet mignon at all of them and the filet I had at Steakhouse 10 was equally as great. MENU ===== In keeping with the relaxed dining attitude of the restaurant, there are two menus. One for cocktails and dinner, then one for after-dinner drinks and desserts. The meals are not rushed and they are not ala carte. Your entre' comes with a choice of soup or salad, and also mashed or baked potato. The only choice you don't get is whether asparagus is the vegetable that comes with your entre'. STAFF ===== This place is filled with staff who want to make your experience memorable. From the owners who watch over every detail, to bus staff who make sure your crumpled napkin is neatly folded and waiting for you when you return from the bathroom, to the fun and friendly servers who help you choose your meal and desserts. We had Shelby. She was fairly new to Steakhouse 10, but obviously not to serving diners. FREE STUFF ========== When you make reservations they will ask if you are celebrating a special occasion. To celebrate that occasion, during the dessert portion of your meal, they will bring a slice of cake - limoncello or red velvet. It will have a candle in it and also a disk of semi-sweet chocolate with an icing inscription like "Celebrate" or "Congrats" or "Happy Anniversary." This comes in addition to anything you might order for dessert. At the very end of your meal, after you've paid the bill they bring you a shot of Greek Ouzo as a nightcap. If you're not a drinker, tell them and they will bring you a "fake shot" so you can do one with whoever may want the ouzo. PRICES ====== In life you pay for what you get. If you're a person who watches every penny of your budget, this restaurant is not for you. On the other hand, if you are someone who believes fine dining on a special occasion is an investment in making memorable experiences to last a lifetime, you won't be disappointed. PARKING ======= There are rows of lighted parking to the south and west of the building. ENTRANCE ========= This is the tricky part. If you look at the pictures of the restaurant, it looks like you turn into a driveway off of South Elati Street and the entrance is right along that driveway. NOPE. They added some "outside" seating to the building which uses that driveway for its foundation. You also can not get to the parking lot off of the other driveway on South Elati Street because that is an "exit only". To get to the entrance you have to take the paved alley that runs parallel between South Elati Street and Fox Street South. You can get to this alley (behind the Taco Bell) off of Hampden Ave or you can enter the alley off of West Ithaca Ave to the south. read more

The ambiance of this place was really nice and romantic. Very dark but had candles on each table. Definitely an intimate place to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. The service here was great, we made a reservation and was seated promptly. The water and bread came super quickly as well and our server was able to get to us in a timely manner. The people here were super nice!! The bread was good and warm and they offered us more bread after we finished our first basket. The crabcake was good as well, with a lemony aioli sauce. Nothing crazy, I think it tasted like a very generic crab cake. The steaks were both cooked perfectly. We asked for medium rare and it was the perfect medium rare, slightly on the rarer side but it didn't bother me and this made it so that my leftover steak was still good after reheating. The peppercorn sauce that came with the steak was good as well, nothing too salty or too decadent. It balanced perfectly well. The surf and turf was good as well, but I dont think it is worth the money because they lobster is plain and it comes with butter. The mashed potatoe was not super heavy either, and slightly salty for my liking. I think the baked potato was slightly better. The asparagus was a great side, it wasn't too salty either. I think the portion size of the steak made the priceline slightly better. It was a hugeeee piece. The steak that comes with the surf and turf is a more manageable portion. What a fantastic Greek steakhouse that feels like a family dinner. I had the green chili covered burger and the green chili was SO GOOD!!! My girlfriend had the Gyro plate it was a healthy portion with some great shaved meat. I think there were two different kinds and they were both awesome. We also got the cheese plate that had quite the FIRE presentation. The restaurant also took care of me on my birthday and brought out a very nice piece of red velvet birthday cake. We appreciated that he was good and always on point. My wife ordered the special 7oz filet Oscar style and it was delicious at least that what she said never got a chance to taste! I ended up with the 14oz Peppercorn NY and man was it big by the end I had to even get a box. All in I give this spot a five star food, Service and ambiance were all on point. We tried out Steakhouse 10 for the first time last night in celebration of my husband's birthday. It was between this and another place, nether of which I had been to (and my hubby hadn't been here) so I was a little nervous... We were greeted at the door with birthday wishes, which was awesome, and sat at a nice private table in the near-empty (at 6p on a weekday) dining room. Little nervous still... but the dining room did fill up as our meal progressed. We were only there about an hour! I do feel timing of things could have been spaced out a bit - we didn't feel rushed, per say, but didn't feel encouraged to sit and chat long either. I do love that the price for the entrees includes soup or salad and sides. I went with what was described as a special for the night, but it's really just a regular menu offering: filet Oscar style. I ordered it medium and it definitely came out on the rare side... but it was tender and delicious. The crab and bernaise sauce were wonderful accompaniments. The mashed Potatoes are spot on and the asparagus is still crispy but not fibrous. My only complaint is that even with my hubby taking half of my potatoes and a stalk of asparagus, it was too much food! Ha! We ordered Death by Chocolate for my hubby's dessert and I wanted to eat more of it because it's possibly the best chocolate cake I've ever had. I was also a little disappointed there wasn't a candle or "happy birthday" on the plate... and birthday desserts are not complementary but I'm being knit-picky here. My husband was very happy with his meal, and the portion of mine he took. We were both happy with our drinks (Manhattan and a sparkling rosé). The staff was jovial and interacted nicely with us. Our medium rare steak was cooked to perfection, tender, and full of natural flavor - just as advertised on their menu. We're so glad we decided to spend our 40th anniversary at Steakhouse 10! We had a cozy table upstairs near the fireplace. The food was impeccable! From the escargot appetizer to the delicious lamb chops, decadent ribeye Oscar style warm bread, asparagus and the baked and mashed potatoes were prepared beautifully. Nice traditional style steakhouse with a very cozy atmosphere. When you park in the lot, you go to the back of the building despite your inclination to go to the front. The style is a very eclectic mix of art from different eras. Not quite cohesive, but works. The building is old, with character and a lot of beautiful wood work. The lighting is very dim, but romantic. Our server was fantastic. Knowledgeable, helpful, hard working, and charming. He asked us about our anniversary, but didn't linger too long. Drinks were perfect and the escargot was perfection. The bread was quite chewy. Almost the texture of microwaving bread. Not great. Our soup and salad were next. Husband loved his lobster bisque, and my Greek vinaigrette salad was very underwhelming. They need to try their dressing again because it was basically just oil and herbs, no flavor at all. I had to ask for some lemon wedges to spruce it up. The fresh lemon made all the difference. I thought the bisque was okay. We both had steaks. I had the special--surf and turf, filet and crab, with a Bearnaise sauce. My husband had a New York Strip Sinatra style with blue cheese. Both dishes come with sides. Asparagus--perfectly cooked, and our choice of mashed or baked potato. All the sides were nicely cooked and seasoned. Onto the steaks. We were very disappointed with our steaks. We've never had steaks that were sort of perfectly cooked, but the outside edges were so incredibly dry, I almost couldn't swallow it down because it was getting stuck! Had to take a huge swig of water to get my first bite down. But when I cut into my filet, the inside was perfect. Very very odd. Makes me feel like the pan was way too hot and then they finished in the oven. Same exact issue with my husband's. I opted to have them replace my meal with a ribeye. It was great. Slightly over salted, but cooked beautifully and so moist and tender. Husband tolerated his steak so as not to be a bother. He ended up eating half of my steak :) Our server surprised us with a slice of red velvet cake to celebrate. It was a lovely touch. We enjoyed our time, and overall would go back due to the friendliness and old school vibe. They did everything to correct the cook on the steaks and make things right. My wife and I went to Steakhouse 10 on her birthday last Saturday night. We had drinks, crab cakes, soup, salad, steaks and desert. We each tried all dishes and they were delicious. All seemed well until a few hours later when we were both very ill with food poisoning. We only ate the same food at the restaurant the entire day so it could not have been from anything else. I am only writing this review because I got no response from the Steakhouse 10 website contact. I would expect better after a $140 per person meal. -Very disappointed. Update- No response whatsoever from the ownership (or anyone) at Steakhouse 10 in over a week. I do not understand how the restaurant would ignore a customer after such an experience. A simple response would go a long way to maintain a good relationship but apparently it is not worth their time. My experience will keep us and anyone I know from trying this place again, not because of the food poisoning which is probably very rare but from the lack of decency which seems to be their norm. read more

This place is the classic definition of pretentiousness. I don't understand why they have such a good rating. The food is mediocre best and is very very Overpriced for what you receive. The ambience feels stuffy and the service let's say is very slow and awkward. The waiter was way too talkative and the subjects he was discussing were bizarre to say the least. My wife brought me here recently for my birthday. I love the vibe of this place. It's dark inside but you can still see what you're eating (which is always a plus). I had the Sinatra steak and it was absolutely mouth wateringly divine. Bleu cheese goodness served with well cooked asparagus and some mashed potatoes. The Manhattan cocktail I had was strong (not complaining). The icing on the cake was....the death by chocolate cake. A rather large slice but oh my goodness - my wife and I have joked a few times since then that we should go back and order a slice to go, it's THAT good. The service at this restaurant was incredible. I don't think I've ever received such attentive service at another restaurant in my life. Our server, Andrea, was amazing, made great menu recommendations and provided us with a list of things to do while we are visiting Denver. We started out with a round of shots of ouzo, which were recommended by Andrea. I wasn't sure of what to expect and the first shot caught me off guard. It was harsh and tasted like licorice. The second shot was easier and by the third shot, it was smooth sailing. Well, maybe not smooth but easier than the first two. I also ordered the Colorado Pear, which didn't taste like pear at all. The drink was strong so sip slowly! I ordered the lamb chops, which came with mashed potatoes and asparagus. My friend ordered the ribeye and I was able to taste it. I wish the lamb chops were seasoned like the ribeye. The lamb chops lacked flavor but were very tender. The mashed potatoes and asparagus were great. If I visit again on another trip to Denver, I'll either order the ribeye or ask for the lamb chops to be seasoned similar to the ribeye if that's possible. The Death by Chocolate cake was deliciously rich and our party of four couldn't finish it.
