Best fudge in town by far! Friendly and knowledgeable staff, and the most fair prices ever seen for candy in a vacation area! Highly recommend this shop!

    Huge selection

I love this candy store I've been going there since I was a kid. It's still as exciting with lots of nostalgia candy from my childhood. The fudge is excellent, and I love the fact that you can buy Zotz in strips of four like I used to buy when I was a kid! So many things to choose from! The chocolate turtles looked amazing with lots of nuts. I watched as the employee shrunk wrap them. This is a must stop for Provincetown!

One of the stores that we explored in P-Town is this one! I'm not a sweet eater but Hubby loves sweets, so he dragged me info this store to complete his mission. They got a lot of sweets. We got to try a few flavors. I like the salted caramel! Who doesn't? So we got that to go, along with other flavors that Hubby likes. It took us almost 2 weeks to finish it, but Hubby ate the most of it. While at the store, I had a chance to watch the making of fudge! Wow! Never seen it before. It was a cool process. The store has a lot of candies too but we weren't so much into candies. They make great chocolates although not a lot of dark chocolate selection. Perfect store to go after the meal!

Mmmmmm. Candy. Always a destination spot for us in P-town whenever we are here. Grab a basket and make your way around the store while you fill it with retro and familiar candies. It's a happy place. Try the fudge. If you like it, buy some. Currently, the gentleman behind the counter is much more jovial and friendly than our previous experiences in recent years. We found out that he is the son of the owner and has taken it over so that his dad could retire and get out of dodge. Mmmmmmm. Candy.

    Taffy time.

Why go here instead of the bigger, brighter and more tourist-ridden taffy place right across the street? Thank you for asking! It's all about the service. I never did the research, but I'm guessing the gent who works the counter here is the owner. One of the nicest guys in Le Town de P - great customer service. Just friendly, funny, and fast. I also appreciate his "Making Fudge Today" signage that he occasionally puts out in the front window. There's something about these small gestures that help keep the small beach town vibe intact. And though, they may not have as much as the place across the street, you feel that what they do have was picked with a lot of heart (and a good sweet tooth). I never thought I'd have a "go to taffy place" ... but I guess I do.

    First batch.

They are famous for their Gibralters and their Blackjacks - I of course, took home both. The Gibralters come in lemon and peppermint flavor - they are big pieces of candy that are made to be broken and shared. I also took home two of the blue raspberry flavored fruit jellies which didn't make it very far - I'm a sucker for anything blue raspberry flavored. The inside of Ye Olde Pepper Companie is very small, the line took up the entire store and people actually had to wait outside until people left before they could come in. The line moved quickly though and they were very organized when helping customers. There are no tables to sit at, just tables, cases and shelves of candy! They offered chocolates, fudge, Saltwater Taffy, caramel corn and even brittles. Is it the best candy in the world? No, but I love knowing that I got to visit and purchase candy from the oldest one in America. Staff were very friendly and they gave me a See's Candy vibe minus the cute little outfits. I will definitely visit again if I get the chance! Check out a part of history!

They demeaned and accused my son of crushing candies, when he picked up a baggie of Lego candies, and was checking if the pieces align. The older blonde woman that works there, yelled at him not to crush the candy, he replied that he was not crushing anything, just looking at the pieces. To which the woman yelled out that he was lying and she saw him. My older teen and her boyfriend, who were in charge of babysitting, came back to tell me of the incident. As I went to the store to figure out what happened, as the girls at the front were lazily sitting there without acknowledging any customers, I told them that they had accused my 9 year old son (who btw is probably one of the calmest kids I know, who just happens to love Legos and science, hence the curiosity for the Lego candy) of crushing candy. They denied knowledge of the incident and called the older woman to the front, who just started being rude, confrontational, snd paranoid as of what we were doing with our phones. Since I took some pictures prior, as I travel around the world and have a social media platform that posts about travel. She yelled for us to leave if we didn't like it, and then to just leave the store when I told her she was rude. How can an unhinged person like that run a candy store who mainly caters to children, yet seems to hate them??? As we were leaving, she just went out the store and was still yelling something, paranoid we recorded her. P.S.: This is not only a Candy Store, it's an OVERPRICED, STALE Candy, Cash only, RUDE, and unhinged Candy extravaganza store. Chatham could do so much better than this junk.
